I Love New York for Holidays

A charming composition that evokes the warmth and coziness of the holiday season. Patchouli and praline create a deep, rich, earthy sweetness reminiscent of Angel by Thierry Mugler. Here, however, the spices lend the fragrance a distinctly festive character. The opening is almost resinous, enveloping the wearer in comforting warmth. As it settles, the base becomes sweeter and more subdued. I even catch an impression of blackcurrant, despite it not being listed among the official notes. It is that same green, tart, yet sweet fruity accord that comes to mind. Longevity on fabric is very good, while the projection remains moderate. An utterly delightful fragrance to wear, especially during the winter months.

I don ́t get it... Patchouly bomb? Praline note? OK, it ́s a pleasant scent that I like, but it ́s not a patchouly. If the sweetness in the drydown is what some call praline, I understand, but to my nose it ́s more a general, fruity sweetness. An early "fruitchouly", from before the craze started? I have no idea of TM ́s Angel, so I can ́t tell if there ́s a similarity. But let ́s start in the right end; the top notes are dominated by the apricot, next comes the mandarin. It stays surprisingly fruity for quite a while, then settles down in a fruity vanillalala-land. Pleasant, not a wow scent, but wearable for summer for someone like me who ́s mostly into darker, heavier fragrances in the colder months.

I haven't tried Mugler's Angel, but I think this scent itself is a beautiful especially for wintry Christmas. I always associate this perfume with candy store and ginger bread during a calm winter night, a shelter from the thick snow outside. Praline and Apricot is the most prominent notes for me, and maybe that's the conjurer of ginger bread scent for me. This perfume is sweet but isn't cloying, so I usually use 6 sprays... And it last around 8-10 hours with medium to strong silage... This could be worn by Santa Claus.... Merry Christmas...

Wow, I'm far too late to the party on this one, but I unexpectedly love it SO much!! On me I really do get apricot, praline and patchoulli based spicy that just comes alive in cold weather!! I get the Coco Mademoiselle reference...weirdly, it also reminds me of old formulation CK Obsession for some reason (this is a plus point for those that aren't as old as me. Lol) Grab the samples while you can still find them, because this one is a stunner!!

I'm a huge fan of bond no 9, and this is yet another to add to my list. It's fruity, slightly spicy, and that dark kind of sweet that suggests some mischief is afoot. It lasts well into the evening from a morning spray and develops into a beautiful comforting scent. This is patchouli done right. I see some similarities to Angel, but the exact same? No way. A great winter scent.

This could've been "I Love Angel for the Holidays". Although there is some additives that make it a little spicy, grounded and have more substance. To me - apricot, patchouli, praline are the heavy hitters in this fragrance. Very nice. This is a sunny Sunday afternoon baseball game with a date type fragrance.

LOVE this one! It's very TM Angel, but to me it smells more like the fruiter body lotion and body cream, which I secretly have wished Angel smelled more like. Now I have Holidays to satisfy my fruiter taste. Haha. But seriously, I'm saving my pennies for this one. Just delicious. : )

I am in love with this one. The apricot is quite prevalent, along with praline and patch. It smells so good! It is sweet but also soft spicy. I do find it truly unisex. I think my man would smell amazing if he wore it. This is truly a ******* gem like the user below commented.

This is a good one. I'm wearing it right now. This one is gourmand then it is fruity. I have received several compliments. This is my secret go to scent. I will add this to my collection. I have 4 samples now which should last a while.

Nice gourmand scent perfect for cold weather; love the sweet chocolate, patchouli, fruits and musk together. One spray in your chest/neck will keep you going for 6 hours plus. Thumbs up!

This is without a doubt my favourite Bond no 9. Reminds me of a blend of Miss Dior and Coco Mademoiselle (and a tiny bit of Angel in the opening)

There is a slight resemblance to TM Angel, but I believe its due to the sweet patchouli scent, but is it a replica... NO! I sprayed it on For about the first 15-20minutes, it seems that orange citruses mixed with the patchouli gives off an almost pine scent.... Interesting. Now it's calming down, hitting the mid-notes, I'm getting fruits, florals, and the patchouli. Almost an original Dior Cherie-"like" vibe. As it warms and reaches the dry down, 45+minutes, the patchouli and praline is giving it a almost sweet smoky tobacco scent. The sweet smoky tobacco scent gives this that "bad girl" at the company Christmas party who probably spiked the punch and then snuck out to the back ally for a stoke!!!! Is this a "LOVE"... NO, but a like???? Its definitely growing on me the more I wear it. It is definitely one of those that I would have to be in the mood to wear.

I lived with this for almost 24 hours before checking to see what it's meant to smell like. I have been very confused! The first smack-in-the-nose is vanilla/alcohol like nearly all the modern fragrances. When it dies down I get evergreen trees, then yummy, sweet caramel, and some interesting fruit. After that I spent the next several hours repeatedly sniffing my arm and thinking, what IS that? Something from childhood, very pleasant, very happy. Now that I see what I'm supposed to be smelling I have no idea where the evergreen came from. It did come and go pretty quickly. My husband confirmed this with me. He smelled it too. This fragrance is a winner and it lasts a long time. I can't think of anything it's quite like, although I'm not familiar with many of the Bond fragrances.

I've never smelled angel so this is unique to my nose. On my skin, I get a lot of pomegranate with some fennel for the first 30 minutes. It's a unique combination that smells pretty good. I'm not really picking up on apricot which is a shame because it's my favorite fruit to eat. I pick up patchouli and musk in the base with maybe a bit of woody leather. I hate Bond New York Musk but I don't mind the blend here. I expected it to be heavily fem but it doesn't read that way in my opinion. I think the musk, vegetal fennel keeps it wearable for me. Overall an interesting and decent offering from IFF. I don't know why they don't credit a perfumer unless a robot or AI submitted the sample for the brief? Nevertheless, not bad. Scent 6/10 Performance 7/10

This is a patchouli bomb not unlike Angel as many previous reviewers have pointed out. I'm disappointed that I'm not picking up chocolate notes a la Bodyshop's Chocomania, but the patchouli here is of the gourmand chocolate type and not of the herbaceous calling. Besides patchouli, I'm getting a hit of clean musk and some fruity notes. It's a nice scent but I had hoped for more from the listed notes and am glad I have a big decant instead of splurging on a blind buy. Sillage is mega and longevity is decent, I would say around the 8 hour mark and still going strong. I love New York for All and New York for Her are big hits with me, sadly I will pass on this Holiday.

I think this is a pleasant scent. There's been so many fruitichouli/sweetichouli lately that I don't find it very original, but it is still nice. I'm usually not a big fan of patchouli, but I actually think it works well and is pleasant in this scent. I see from reviews on this that some compare it to Angel, but some others say that it is similar but much easier to wear due to the patchouli being quite toned down. I am not a fan of Angel at all but do like this, so I would agree with those who say the patchouli is much easier to wear in this. I like it, but not to the level of Bond prices, so won't be buying it anytime.

My first impression - Coco Mademoiselle, but somehow made out of different ingredients. Must be the big fruitchouli intention. It has a lot of clean patchouli with its slightly boozy chocolatish feel and a lot of sweet fruits - apricots lifted by mandarin. And a clean, fragrant freesia to support it on a musky, woodsy base. It it less classy than Coco imo, but it is a lot of edible fun and it projects well. Seems to last well too. I wore it on a a sunny hot day and I liked it. though it is one of those scent that can be worn all year, day and night.

Nice, unisex praline with some fruits and spice. It has a nice creaminess to from the leather and praline combo and a strong musk closer to the dry down. It's got an Angel vibe, but it doesn't smell all that much like Angel to me. I find it more like a unisex La Nuit Tresor. I like this one much better because the tartness is subtle and the musk is slightly soapy. It really does smell like the holidays and I wore it today for Christmas Eve dinner.

Nothing to get excited about here folks, well at least for guys. I have no idea how this is labeled as unisex! It is clearly centered around apricot and praline. Also I get a peachy vibe even though it's not listed. I get no projection and longevity is average at best. I don't pick up any patchouli either. I am highly let down by this scent as I had high expectations.

I’m really surprised that this is being called fruity, floral and sweet... I smell Christmas tree and spices. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing. It’s very strong, a tiny amount goes a long way. It’s not the type of fragrance I usually go for. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it.

Got a sample. Smelled very intriguing on a card. I think the scent totally changed about 4 times in the first 10 minutes. Some nice, some weird. Settled into a very sweet and strong apricot sense for 2-3 hours. Was a little more sweet than I prefer. Very interesting and complex scent.

Starts out pretty gourmond from the praline note the after a while settles to a slightly sweet, slightly fruity, pretty boring fragrance. Just fades after that no more evolution. I don't get any patchouli or anything very interesting.

The minute I put this on, my nose thought it was breathing in Terry Mugler's "Angel" -- no question, this is Angel. I have allergies, so I always have to try a scent on my own skin before buying it, and this one set off my allergies as quickly as did Angel. I detect no difference from Angel, except that it is slightly less powerful than Angel. But it is still a scent with a lot of energy behind it. How could they not realize they were making another version of Angel? This has no element of the holidays, to me, so the name of the scent makes no sense. If I were naming this, it would be "Bond 9 Does Angel". Now that it's drying down, I detect there are some elements of Angel that are lighter here. But really, what were they thinking?

The Angel / Nuits de Noho comparisons are accurate. I Love NY for the Holidays is fresher and more fruity than both of those. Actually, this fragrance smelled more accurately like a cross between Innocent by Mugler and Katy Perry's Killer Queen. It's got that same plasticy fruit and rubbery praline that I really disliked in Killer Queen, and the kind of shampoo-ey vibe of Innocent. To me, these elements clashed with the more earthy notes of the patchouli and spices. I'm a big Angel lover and this was a miss for me. Have to give it props for excellent strength and longevity, though- in true Bond fashion.

AmoreProfumi, I got this recently at the discounted price at TJ Maxx (I think some people are finding it at TJ's sister store Marshall's) and I like it a lot! I don't like Angel, and I'm picky about fruity florals, but I do like this. The apricot opening note is sweet but soft, like smelling the skin of a fresh apricot, and it dominates the opening on my skin. The drydown is very pleasant too. I wore it all day yesterday at work and it was really nice. I'm just getting to know this one, but it's probably a safe blind buy if you like apricot!

Is this a safe blind buy?? I seen it for a steal price at my local Marshalls & I've always wanted a bond, they actually have 3 including NY Earthday & NY Marriage equality (which I've gotten to sample those two. Judging by the notes I feel like i'd like this one I normally like sweety gourmands as well as slightly spicy.. the comparison to Angel has me weary though I don't dislike angel but it's a bit much sometimes..anywho any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

This smells divine but quickly turns into a skin scent (like within an hour) where I have to hold my nose to my wrist in order to smell it. Very disappointing. Holidays reminds me of La Vie est Belle slightly, it kind is more like Coco Noir, a more masculine version of either. Lots of patchouli and orange. Does not resemble Angel on my skin. What is this, $105 for a 50ml? No thanks. The price of Bonds are ridiculous. I'd rather spring for Coco or Belle.

This does smell like Angel but warmer and spicier. Angel is bit sharper and more loud. While longevity and projection are just as good, this somehow feels cozier, especially in the dry down when it becomes very different. It also pulls a little bit more masculine than Angel making it more unisex for me. For the price and at this time in my life, I don't need it, but I understand the appeal.

Can you help me? For fun, I'm trying to categorize the holidays that may have inspired the title for this one. The ones I recognize are Pomegranate (Rosh Hashanah), Nutmeg (Hanukkah, Xmas, Eid), Freesia (Chinese New Year), fennel (Eid, Holi), orange (Diwali), Apricot (Hanukkah, Xmas, Eid), Patchouli (Buddhist meditation), Praline (Hanukkah, Xmas), please add more... :-)

I agree with nikoleta1, this really is a great scent, and definitely the best that I've smelled of the I Love NY line of Bond Perfumes. It's much richer and deeper than the notes may convey - The patchouli is used very nicely and combines very well with fruit. This is also the more affordable of the Bond lines, so you're getting a really good scent at an easier price.

A fucking gem. So sad I can’t find a bottle of it. I have to use my brother’s for my fix. Smells like the women’s Angel but with more sweet, and juicy, ripe fruit. I totally slept on it when it was first released.

To my nose this is just an even more expensive dupe of TM Angel. I know I am in the minority, but have never been a fan of Angel...simply too much patchouli, and this was the same from start to finish.

Replica of Angel, Bond 9 just stall this smell, however Angel has a better longevity.

I really like it but it smells like nuits de noho mixed with something else.
