Madison Avenue

I'm a little bit of a Bond junkie too, like the previous reviewer. However, they do have some scents that haven't wowed me either. This new release is quite nice though! And yes, I blind bought it too. I knew just by the note listing I would love it, and guess what, it's a winner for me. In the opening, I get a little bit of the apple, but the bergamot stands out more to me. The opening is fresh, but then the rose starts peeking through. The rose note is fairly strong on my skin; it actually overpowers the jasmine; I can only smell small nuances of it. As it's drying, the rose still dominates. Then some sweetness from the praline peeks through, turning it into a sweet rose aroma. The dry down is a bit darker with the patchouli, but it still retains some freshness. On my skin, the final ending is rose, patchouli, and amber with hints of praline. I wore this out and kept getting nice wafts of fragrance wherever I went. Even when I got home a few hours later, I could still smell it. The sillage for me was heavy for a couple of hours, then it settled to a more moderate sillage after that. Longevity would've probably been most of day if I hadn't put it on so late this evening. Another great purchase from Bond!

This fragrance is a masterpiece. My first time smelling it I was knocked out of my socks. This smells like happiness in a bottle. It is girly, fun, and playful but the patchouli and amber give it just enough of a twist to make it not so teeny bopper sweet. My first time wearing this after purchasing the full bottle people were practically falling at my feet asking me what I was wearing. I wore it to the gym that evening and all the ladies there were mesmerized saying "I'm going to have to treat myself and get that asap" or "Thank you for making the workout so enjoyable with your perfume". Longevity and sillage is great, which is what I look for in a perfume. To give you an example, my fiance can barely smell most of my perfumes if at all. I sprayed it at 9:30 am at work and without respraying it he could still smell it well while sitting next to me at 8:30 pm that night. All the compliments that I received were from women. Men do think it smells good just not sexy. My best friend called it "cute".

So upon first spray... ooo! She's punchy. I won't lie, the patchouli smacked me in the nose a little bit, and had me kind of worried. But it very quickly gave way to this jammy, fruity fragrance. The patchouli in this adds depth... It's not extremely noticeable. I think it's very well done in this fragrance. I mostly smell just a fruity rose perfume. The rose is very noticeable to my nose. This is a really pleasant fragrance... Think walking outside on a crisp spring morning, surrounded by a bunch of berry bushes intertwined into lovely rose vines. I keep getting whiffs of this on my wrist and it's just a lovely fragrance. I feel like it would justify the price tag, this is something you would smell on a very classy put together woman. It's fruity, but it isn't childish. It's a rose scent, but it's not your grandmothers rose. I really like this! Perhaps a full bottle is in my future. Once I use up my tester, I will consider.

Bond No. 9 says this is the "scent of shopping". I am the last person on the planet to say whether or not that's an accurate description, because I hate shopping. To me, Madison Ave. smells like an adventure, so if shopping is an adventure for you, the name fits well. When I hear "Madison Ave" I think of iconic advertising, and huge concerts (Madison Square Garden). This fragrance connotes both of these as well. It's a bold patchouli-rose with a peppery spiciness that develops into a soft white floral undertone. Upon first spray this seems like it's going to be a bit harsh, but the longer its on my skin, it makes me imagine a watercolor of Madison Avenue on a balmy late Spring day. Fortunately for me, this is, to my nose, a chypre, not a fruity-floral. It doesn't smell like something one would want to eat. As another reviewer commented, there is something mysterious about this fragrance, which makes me love it.

This is lovely! Very fruity and fresh. To me the blend of berries and lime turn into pineapple! This is in the same vein as Givenchy ‘s Ang Demon Secret meaning both have a strong fruit note blended with patchouli. I must say though that I have many scents in my (small) collection that give off the same vibe for a lot less money. I am very happy to have a large sample of this to enjoy on these hot summer days but cannot justify buying this even with a discounted price from the secondary market (eBay or fragrancenet). Staying power on me is minimal but I sure love the dry down which remains fresh and never turns cloying. I may have to grab Rihanna’s Rogue since many find them similar and with the low price tag. Sounds too good to be true to me!

This fragrance is very sexy to me it starts off very sweet, tart and fruity. You have to like patchouli or fruitchouli fragrances to be able to like this. The patchouli isn’t dirty it’s just more earthy and grounds this fragrance from becoming too sweet. To me this is a very feminine, sensual and playful scent. I didn’t like it on paper but on my skin its goals! Really warm, sweet, fruity fragrance and I love fragrances with ambrox in it. I feel like you could wear this during fall, winter and Spring. I feel this could be a very good everyday fragrance. The vibe of the fragrance is very feminine, it’s giving Regina George vibes.

Wow another masterpiece from Bond No. 9. This is a fruity, sweet and fresh fragrance with a nice smooth ambery base and a tiny bit of earthiness in a good way. At first I’m getting peach,mango and berries with some melon like freshness. Then after a bit it was pure mango and amber all day for me I’d assume the fruity patchouli combo is giving me a juicy tropical fruit vibe. An awesome combination that made it a great scent on a hot day. Long lasting and sillage as well, it leans feminine but I loved it.

I bought a travel spray decant of this and fell in love. Very girly, feminine pretty and clean scent. As a rose-scent lover, I like that this has rose of course but I can also pick up other scent profiles like patchouli and berry that make this *not* your average rose scent. Performance isn’t beastly but it has good enough sillage and longevity. Currently stalking my favorite discount website waiting for it to come back in stock lol

I bought a sample of this and when first tried it, I didn't care for it. to my nose is smelled plasticky :( Fast forward a few weeks later and was thinking of giving it away along with other samples, but decided at last minute to give it another try. Ahhh :) I loved it. Such a beautiful frag. It is a tart green juicy apple, lipstick-y patch floral. very elegant. moderate to strong sillage. Purchased the 3.3oz bottle :)

Madison Avenue is pure ambrosia: sweet, playful, and so well blended I struggle to pick out individual notes, but the luxurious, old money vibe is unmistakable. When Vivian Ward (as played by Julia Roberts) returned to the store with the stuck-up bitches and declared, "Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now," this is what she smelled like.

WOW!! This fragrance is just absolutely beautiful. I was so amazed at how long this perfume lasts for it being a much softer feminine fragrance. It lasts well over 9 hours and yes, it is a bit expensive, but I'd rather pay that price for something that smells great and has amazing sillage as well; and it does just that.

I am becoming a big fan girl of Bond 9. have loved most of their creations and this is another love...but with the caveat that if you like an edp w sillage this is not your gal. and it is a gal. Fruity, sweet, light and quite pleasant. A beautiful to-the-office daytime fragrance. It is not overbearing or in your face .

A very beautiful, elegant, and feminine fragrance. It’s the kind of scent that says, "I’ve arrived, and all eyes are on me." It reminds me of a layered dessert featuring berry-rose jam on a chocolate base. The patchouli here isn't earthy or "cellar-like," but rather chocolaty. The sillage is wonderful. Delicious.

I adore this scent - it's surprising to not see it up there, but it smells like a niche version of Toy 2 from Moschino, but with better longevity. It's a super bright juicy and almost juvenile scent, but the florals and patchouli push this into a more any age direction. Definitely recommend this one!

This smells so good I can't get enough. I don't normally gravitate toward floral fragrances, but this is one of the best scents I have ever experienced! I will be buying the bottle ASAP! Love, love, love. One of the best Bonds. Floral, musky, and something mysterious. Simply Amazing!

Pink and girly, a princess who is waiting to be saved in a tower, I surely dreamed of this scent on me while wearing a pink gown when I was a little girl. But the price.......... Way to expensive

after some more experimenting and finding perfumes that are within the more green or aromatic or animalic or musky fragrances, i tried the decant of this again. i gotta say, i quite like this fragrance now. it was actually tom ford's 'rose prick' perfume that affected my take on this because there is a sweetness here that's missing in rose prick and it does make for a more feminine-leaning sort of fragrance that smells like a classic floral in a very natural and green way and i am able to detect the bouquet vibes now. lovely perfume but i prefer rose prick by tf and mad madame by juliette has a gun which is another very realistic kinda spicy rose floral perfume. madison avenue while to me would be considered within the same genre, seems very feminine and more of a traditional floral fragrance so if you're into that sort of vibe, i think this would be great but very, very green so buyer beware. very delicate, natural, bright and feminine fragrance and not very.. roses amongst a damp lush dark green forest like for example agent provocateur which shares a similarly deceptive bottle design, but instead a lovely and blooming garden in the springtime but think more green and less pink. perfumes are sometimes so different to my nose after they settle into their meant-to-smell-like-this-actually fragrance and this one especially and based on other reviews, some have the same experience with this perfume so don't let the first impression be the final call. give it another try after some time because the difference is worth noting. 🌹💝✨️

This scent is pretty much exactly as described -- fun, light, flirty, very girly. This is not an office or "date night" fragrance. This is a retail therapy/day drinking/brunch-with-the-girls/running errands on the weekend type of fragrance. The rose, patchouli and apple definitely hit strong in the opening -- for me, in a very appealing way. Not overpowering but crisp and clean; definitely makes its presence known. The dry down settles into an unexpectedly sweet and lilting floral. Not a lot of sillage but the kind of fragrance where when you're hugging the girls hello or goodbye you get a lot of "that fragrance is divine"-type compliments. This is my first Bond and I look forward to getting more into this collection. It strikes me that this doesn't need to be layered and probably would not benefit from layering, and I wear it with unscented body oils/creams. Madison Avenue for me stands out on its own.

I’m surprised that I like this! I really do! The notes here all smell artificial yet the overall effect is really enjoyable. My brain keeps trying to make sense of this aroma and is bouncing in between pine (the patchouli+Praline?), tulips and pineapples, how can that be?! I also smell the totally nostalgia inducing vibe of scratch and sniff stickers from childhood, and a weird herbaceous dry note that’s a bit like smelling money but works perfectly- that HAS to be the patchouli against the green apple skin. I typically dislike apple notes but this one is great. This projects really well too. EDIT: Smelling the fresh money note in this was a game changer! I'm actively looking for a bottle now. Also be careful, it's easy to overspray! This is long lasting and projects like mad.

Madison Avenue is quite a complex scent. It’s a floral fruity fragrance that smells really green on my skin. I get the apple and bergamot in the top notes and boy are they abundant. The heart is composed of rose, magnolia and jasmine and its heavily floral. I can’t help but picture a greenhouse when I smell it. It’s so undeniably a scent better suited for the spring. It feels like you’re walking in a grassland with flowers sprouting everywhere. My boyfriend bought me this perfume and I like it cause it has a unique smell. I’ve never smelled anything like it. It’ll definitely get you noticed but it’s way overpriced. Don’t buy it blindly. Test it first because it’s definitely an acquired scent.

My middle name is Madison & was inspired by Madison Avenue, so It’s only right that I own this scent. Though linear for the price, it’s a pretty, feminine fruity floral w/ great sillage & smells like a more mature Delina. I’m 22 & plan on reaching for this more when I’m older. As a rose hater, I give Madison Ave a 5.5/10 for now. Hopefully that score improves, but I bought it for the name ngl 😭

i purchased a little decant of this because the packaging looks like maybe the fragrance would resemble something sweet and fluffy. instead, this was a fresh, sharp, zesty, displeasing, unsweetened.... think of fruits and florals without any sweetness, that's what this is. the bottle should've been dark green or neon green to warn us of the grass notes. 🍈🍂🍃

This is almost the gold standard if you’re fruitchouli fan. The blackberry and apple hit hard but the patchouli (and ambroxan) never let you forget they’re in the game too. If you like this type of scent then it’s a good one and unique. Lasts well. Good sillage. Worth the price? Not sure. I’m glad I have it on my shelf but I couldn’t reach for it everyday.

The opening for Madison avenue is very fruity then it dries down to something completely different. The dry down is an overpowering patchouli scent if you love patchouli then you should love this. The scent gives a sophisticated mature feel. It's not my favorite but I do mix it with Delina to make the scent softer. I will not buy again but it's nice.

I got this blindly and thought this would be a light floral rose scent by the look of the bottle but I was surprised with a bright and happy sweet floral. It has a shampoo-y quality in that it's Juicy and sweet but still has the praline and other base notes to ground it out afterwards. I get lovely wafts of it throughout the day and is very appealing

To me this is a sweet-yet-dark patchouli in a similar vein of Flowerbomb or Coco Mademoiselle, but with a prominent rose note that makes it distinctively more rosy than the other two. Note: If you're a rose lover like me, layering this with Nest Turkish Rose Oil makes the scent very beautiful and longer-lasting.

it's the kind of perfume that you can either like, or won't. trust me, it still happens to me! it's sitting there being used RARELY, but when i do it's always a very bubblegum-y sort of scent (i'm not very good in explaining the different notes in this, but i can say its quite...unique.)

This is nice. Definitely gives clean girl vibes. It’s light and airy. I love ambroxan as a fragrance note so that may be why I find this appealing. This however is just a like. I don’t think it’s worth the price tag. It isn’t very special imo.

A lively burst of sweet rose and fruits opens the fragrance—vibrant, pink, joyful, and carefree. It gradually softens into a more floral and serene heart. Reapplication is helpful to keep its cheerful presence alive.

The scent is very smooth and nice, not just girly and young meaning business women can use it BUT it has very poor projection and siage. So you can find similar scents with better performance cheaper

I dont understand why it was so hyped,it is a very generic scent,is nice and smooth but nothing special. It is like a sweet floral scented bogy lotion , has very poor sillage even on clothes. 5/10

fruity, sweet. A girly scent that smells like apples, sweet green grapes, and roses. Scent lacks depth, and far too basic for the price.

Smells like strawberry ice cream.

To me this smells like a very clean, girly, pink soap. Nothing amazing about this scent it kinda bores me. However, I imagine this scent would fit the super bougie, rich housewife who’s out to eat at brunch or luxury shopping with friends. This is the vibe it gives. It’s an uber girly and bougie scent, but not something that makes me go “wow!”. I’ve only worn this once so I need to test it out a few times to see if my mind will change. For now, it’s just “meh”, you’ll smell nice and girly.

Oddly enough I like this.....It’s a fruity, methanol, patchouli scent. I know raspberry isn’t a note in this but that’s what it gives. I don’t find this “generic”, it’s not anything unique but I don’t know any mainstream fragrances that smell like this. Once is dries down the patchouli becomes very prominent. This is strong and long lasting. Great for spring. I don’t recommend blind buying this.

Simple floral with fruity freshness. It's okay....honestly more appalled by the poor performance. Quite fleeting for the price. I will spray this out of the shower or when I need to feel fresh but once I finish my bottle, that is it. Honestly not worth the purchase. Common simple scent with a stppid high price tag.

It's one of the best rose perfumes but I am not a lover of rose scents unless they are very sweet! I thought it would be sweeter. It is sweetish, but also powdery. The bottle is beautiful and the scent is pleasant but not something I would reach for, and so I decided not to keep it.

This smelled very nasty when I first tried it. After I read a review of a strong smelling pefume to spritz it further away and walk in it.I had to try it on this and to my surprise it smells a lot nicer than the first time. I can even smell the blackberry.

6.5/10. As one of the more highly rated Bond No. 9 fragrances I was looking forward to trying this. Fresh, aquatic off-color floral. High pitched aldehyde. Bubble gum. Soap. No-nonsense fragrance. Not my type but has its merits.

Too girly and juvenile. I had a sample and liked it, because of its freshness, but now I regret buying a full bottle. It's sharp, linear, and suitable for teenagers, not women. Definitely not worth the price.

I’m torn on this perfume...I love the notes but when I spray it, it doesn’t wow me. Just a fruity floral to me, nothing special on my skin.

Fruity floral patchouli fragrance. This smells nice, not my taste though. From this brand, I like Nuits de Noho a bit more.

Smells like bug spray to me...

I hate being the first to say I didn't like it, but I didn't like it. At all. I sprayed some on one wrist before bedtime one night last week. Had I bothered to look up the notes, I would not have. Two words: Chypre and patch. I'm not a fan of either. :-/ I thought (stupidly) that because of the girlie bottle, it would be a very feminine scent. I could not have been more wrong. It does have a slightly fruity opening, but that lasts only momentarily. From then on, it's smack-you-in-the-face patch, patch, and more patch. *shivers* As Murphy's Law would have it, because I dislike it so much, it has the longevity of a bad perm. And sillage? OMG. It's "Uuuuuuge." The scent filled my bedroom. DH asked, "What smells?" I said, "I'm sampling a new perfume." He said, "Don't buy that one, ok?" No danger of that. This morning, my sheets and nightie reek of patch. I used a Lysol wipe to try to get the remainder off my wrist, to no avail. Then I used a baby wipe. No luck. Then I used Dawn dishwashing liquid. Nope, it's still there. If I were the praying type, I'd pray that it comes off when I take a shower. There are lots of people who love chypres, and probably even more who love patch. While Madison Avenue is my worst nightmare, I'm sure it will be a dream come true for them.

Looking at the notes alone, this is not something I'd ordinarily seek out, but because I received a free sample, I figured I'd give it a shot. The overwhelming sense I get from this perfume - other than its utter tenacity on my skin - is one of disharmony. The composition is quite odd to me, and the notes really don't work together at all. Unlike most of the previous reviewers, I get a walloping dose of Jolly Ranchers-like green apple from the get-go, and it lasts and lasts, together with a very sugared praline, a strong air-freshener magnolia 'note,' and an underlying current of patchouli. I don't know about this being a 'chypre' - it certainly doesn't strike me as one - but it *is* a very sugary floral fruitchouli. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the sillage and longevity to be HUGE, so it's definitely YMMV. I would urge sampling this one, as it's a very risky - and expensive - blind buy.

I'm so disappointed 😞 this was a blind I wanted to love it based on the reviews but oh man, it's making me sick ! There's an aquatic/green note that on my skin it smells like the outdoors and not in the good way. Not sure if anyone is familiar with this scent, but it happens when you spend time outside, out in the sun sweating then come in. That smell that lingers on the skin that makes me go, ew. It's a combination of that scent profile and the aquatic/green note that when mixed with the fruits it makes me feel so nauseous 😫 I'm hoping it's just me and that others like it. Perhaps I need to let it sit for a while and come back to it at a later time? As of now, I don't like it. And since I got it from Jomashop so return policy SUCKS. Do not blind buy!

There is a reason this is one of the best selling bond frags. It's one of the best florals I have worn in a long time. It is strong and lasts over 10 hours on me. The sillage is large. Be careful not to overspray with this... it smells so good it is easy to do but you know, too much of a good thing... the best part about this is the berry. It's luscious and lovely. You won't be disappointed with this frag.
