My New York

4 years back my elder brother introduced me to this perfume and I thought it was crazy to spend this kind of money on a perfume and for a perfume that "doesn't smell as good as Aqua Di Gio". I was naive. Cut to 4 years later, I cherish every little spray of this perfume. Why do these damn elder brother have to be so right about things? I love it. This is a beautiful blend by the house of Bond No 9. The ginger is strangely pronounced and hidden at the same time. If you didn't know there was ginger you wouldn't be able to point it out. The rose, the pink pepper, the sandalwood, come together to make a unique scent that stays through the day. Which is why I said, it's beautifully blended. I wear it at special occasions, office and sometimes, just because. Don't get it twisted, it's not your perfume next door. But the blend is so good that it reminded me to use my free will. It has encouraged me to break from the shackles of perfume etiquette and wear it right before bed. All because, I can. I sleep but the scent stays awake. How do I know? I wake up at intervals to check on it. All because, I can. Is it a safe blind buy? No, especially if you've just started off your perfume journey. If you don't have an elder brother to introduce you to this, let me be that elder brother. But before that, get through your One Millions, Cool Waters and Sauvages. Make sure you get bored of them. Just so that one day you can appreciate a My New York and perfume houses like Bond No 9.

Let me start by saying that I love this scent... it’s a fruity aromatic wonder, however, from reading other reviews, it seems each person gets a different accord from it, that is how well My New York is constructed and how well it evolves. For some reason it reminds me of Overture Women from Amouage, although they only share one note, the rose. My New York is unisex leaning a bit towards women... that said, I’m a guy, I use it, and I get a lot of compliments. Most women seem to gravitate towards fruity, fresh, floral and spicy scents, rather than very dirty or strong ouds or leathers, so any guy wearing this perfume will get a lot of compliments... although, I’m not sure if the compliments will be because women like the scent for themselves, rather than actually liking it for the guy who’s wearing it... still, a compliment is a compliment. Longevity is only decent and projection is moderate.

I immediately purchased this fragrance when a Saks rep gave me a test spray. The incense/herbal and rose blended beautifully. Later, I got whiffs of sweet florals and a powdery musk dry down. This fragrance transitions between notes remarkably. Perfect for winter, fall, and spring.

Beautiful unisex fragrance! It sits perfectly on skin & clothing without being obnoxious! BOND does it right! Just wear it and let the air grab the scent! Very nice!

This is a beautiful scent not overwhelming and would be perfect for spring or summer.

This somehow reminds me of my childhood pediatrician's office, nostalgic, colorful, and rosy. It is definitely unisex, but leans more feminine in my opinion. It's a very complex spicy rose. It is both mature and youthful, like a modern take on a classic story. Think She's All That. If you're looking for an androgynous rose scent, this may be for you.

This is a fruity aromatic and...I'm still trying to decide whether I like it. The opening honestly smells just like a piece of Juicy Fruit including that inside-the-foil smell. As it dries down the top and base notes become most prominent: heavy on the pink pepper, ginger, sandalwood, elemi, patchouli and cashmeran. I don't get any of the rose. Although it's unisex it pulls slightly masculine. It's not terrible...but it's not terribly exciting either. I'm a huge Bond No. 9 fan and I'm proud of all my "star bottles". But My New York is the only one I'm having a hard time with and considering decluttering. I find myself grateful I didn't pay full price for this. Not a safe blind buy.

This is a warm scent, followed by rosey and woody notes. but it's funny that the combination of these scents reminds me of the inside of a dollar general store. it's not off putting but i would recommend sampling before buying.

There is a lot of love for this one, but on me it is a straight hugely rose heavy 'No, thank you!' I love ginger, pink pepper and Sandalwood so this should have been an easy at least strong like, but I get nothing that isn't rose out of this. Definitely polarising.. obviously, I'm totally in the minority.. so test before purchase!

Pretty feminine to me. I'm getting a lot of florals with some... watery notes? Rose is usually much heavier in fragrances, but the rose note in this one is lighter and fresher. There is still some heaviness to this one, so I wouldn't call it a summer fragrance, but I think it would be perfectly suited for early spring as winter is just ending. Dubai Citrine is a lesser known Bond frag, but My New York is very similar to it. Edit: I revisited my sample of this weeks later and this fragrance is nothing like what I mentioned above. Right now I'm getting very powdery vibes. A slightly sweet fresh and powdery fragrance. The rose is there to give it some foundation. This smells like someone took a shower and threw on some powder mostly. I'm not bashing the frag, because it still smells nice. I'm just stating the facts. Also, it reminds me a lot of Washington Square by Bond as well.

Just smelt this in harrods- cannot even tell you what notes i get but loved it! Has the sweet modern style of fragrance and totally unisex. Out soon, will update when they send a sample

Imagine Toy Boy from Moschino, but toned down for office wear. Less boisterous, less flirtatious, more professional. That's My New York.
