New York Nights

Edit 07/24/2024: This fragrance has taken me for a RIDE! Everything I thought I knew and felt about it below has changed completely. All of a sudden a flip was switched and I now 100% get the banana smell! It’s like banana candy with a light airy caramel (not sticky and thick). I don’t really smell too much coffee but there is a faint smokiness that is barely there. This has now REALLY grown on me now but I’m so so so confused. It has completely changed compared to what I smelled the first few days I smelled it. I no longer get much patchouli, whereas it was so dominant before. This scent was eternal on me and it seemed impossible to wash off too... now it seems to only last a few hours. What is happening? Why is it that only the smells we don’t like seem to last forever? Is it just me? What a wild ride! The good news is I now love this scent and will be wearing it much more, especially in the fall. Bond No 9 is quickly becoming one of my favourite fragrance houses. This is the most unique scent I’ve ever owned. I just recently got into Bond No 9 fragrances and started with Greenwich Village which I fell in love with and then moved on to Tribeca which I am absolutely obsessed with. New York Nights came after and after hearing about how gourmand it is with notes of caramel and coffee, I knew I had to have it. I was quite disappointed when I received it cause it smelled nothing like what I expected. I don’t smell any coffee or banana candy or gourmand notes. To me, this is heavy spicy patchouli with a background of caramel. I’ve been struggling with it because I smell something so different than what everyone else smells and it almost leans more masculine for me which is why I have been having a hard time. I got the idea recently to layer Lattafa’s Eclaire (which is a dupe for Bianca Latte) with NYN to make it a lot more gourmand and sweet so that it leans much more feminine for me while making the scent much more deep and interesting. This combination really brings out the caramel note so that it is more what I was hoping for. I highly recommend it! This combo is a huge love for me! I hope I can still grow to love NYN on its own so I don’t feel so bad about how expensive it is.

Caramel and Coffee From start to finish (I can understand the banana when thinking about it) in the best way with slight florals in the front. This is one of my favorite fragrances I've ever smelled in every aspect perfect to me, gourmand but not so sweet that it is offputing. It is a perfect wintertime fragrance that receives compliments more than any other sample I have ever drained. I wore this through an airport before and received many compliments, and the whole experience was enjoyable. I know some people call this the “Fanum cologne,” but it's so much more than that, and it has been known in the fragrance world since before. This fragrance reminds me of fond memories of winter and fall, along with big, active cities in the night lights. The cool bottle will be an added bonus to an already astounding fragrance. This isn't even needed to sample to buy for a good deal. In my opinion, it is blind-buy worthy and a fragrance that you will love and that everyone around you will love while wearing it. Smelling this in the air lifts my spirits and makes me feel warm and comfortable. If you are interested in winter/fall or gourmand fragrances, this is a must smell. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 7/10 Price: 8/10 $160 for 100ml on discounters (tester), and I think this is reasonable for such a great fragrance (Do NOT buy retail) Final Rating: 10/10

**UPDATE: The dry down is EVERYTHING. It's warm, but not heavy if that makes sense at all. It's addictively invigorating. You still get a little bit of those powerful top notes later in the day, but I have changed my mind about this being too heavy for hotter weather--wear this year round! Layer on top of Riifs Noor for an absolute POWERHOUSE! _____________________________________________________ First things first, I have BOTH fragrances I am mentioning so don't get it twisted. I just think we all should have the opportunity to smell like $450. Night Party by Metropolis is an inspiration of New York Nights by Bond No 9. But if I could only buy one again, it would be Night Party. I got it for under $20 and get a VERY, VERY close profile (about 90-95% similar). It's a sweet, sophisticated scent that gives CEO vibes. The sandalwood is the star here, and it's covered in patchouli infused caramel. The caramel tones down the patchouli so it smells less hippy, more...woodsy. The sea notes are there and supply the salt needed to make the fragrance not as sweet. I do not pick up the coffee note at all. This scent might get a little too heavy to wear in hotter weather, but would absolutely SHINE in the Fall/Winter or on date night. It's unisex, but leans SLIGHTLY feminine.

New York Nights is an amazing and smooth Carmel/Sandlewood fragrance. A truly delectable and gourmand scent. At the same time it subtly gives me hotel lobby type smell, in a good way. I wear this sparingly only because it is that good. This could easily be added to anyones top 5 cologne collection. This is a splendid unisex fragrance. I had my female friend blindly smell multiple fragrance I have and this was her favorite due to the sandlewood she picked up. I personally only pick up a faint dose of coffee but it is blended extremely smoothly as a whole. Both men and woman can wear this while smelling unique as not everyone has this fragrance due to its price point. The first time I wore this my mom stopped in her tracks and begged to know what this was. The fragrance stuck to her body after a hug and she was smelling her arms all evening long (seriously.) I first received a sample before buying and after smelling the sample I knew this had to be my first Bond No. 9 fragrance. Best suited for evenings, dates, special occasions, or cool weather. Overall 5/5

For a scent that has no banana note, all I get is banana & caramel lol. I love this scent. Definitely unisex but also very gourmand. I don’t like most of the Bond scents because they are pretty floral but this & MyTribeca are the kind of scents I love. It is very sweet & yummy. If you don’t like really sweet scents then avoid this one. I don’t think this is blind buy safe. Though I love it, I can see why some wouldn’t. It is a very interesting scent & I don’t have anything else like it. I went all out and got the body cream when I got the perfume. I wear it with a caramel oil or birthday cake body glaze and it’s fire! This perfume is expensive but I feel like it’s worth it because the scent is intoxicating! It’s a love! Perfumy banana cake. It’s as yummy as it sounds! This shines in the colder weather so in Michigan weather it’s great. I could see it being cloying in the summer - it’s a heavier scent meant to swirl in the wind. I’d wear this day or night in the cold weather.

Man I love this. Blind bought it off Notino, and it's one of those that I could easily end up buying more off. My only downsides to this, as well as my Bleecker Street, is that the caps are very bad, doesn't fit tight around the bottle or anything, feels cheap. As do the boxes. Atomizer is okay, little leaking but pretty average. This smells like a sweet, caramel-ish slice of banana pie. Very gourmand-like, which I enjoy. May be a bit too sweet for some, but I personally love this, it's in my current Top 5, and I own 70 fragrances which says a lot. It is an easy scent to go nose blind to, but I absoloutely disagree in it being a marine-like or salt-water smell. Scent: 9/10 Projection: 8/10, not too strong, just right. Most sweet scents tend to be very strong in projection Longevity: 8/10, respectably long Price pr ml: 2/10, Bond is a very expensive house, and for the quality of the bottles and packaging, for most people this wouldn't be a reccommendation from me.

will be gatekeeping this one. its special. when no ones around i give myself a spritz and let out a moan judging this based on the luxe dupe called nightlife but it really had me by the balls on first whiff. to me it smells just like this nail varnish i used when i was 17, nostalgic, but my friend i was with didnt get that at all. probably Benzyl Acetate. we had a spray on our arm and spent the whole rest of the day sniffing it almost uncontrollably. he had no interest in fragrence before today. i think its just that i tend to like gourmands and florals but ive never come across a frag that does both well until now... it doesn't really explicitly come across as either, it has an uncategorizable quality that's alluring.. truly an enby icon. and you can be sure its not just you b∵c even my mum who hates perfume likes this. will be looking out for the original so i get to smell it with that marine note the dupe is missing

It is just so nice. This is a thick fragrance to my nose, and for that reason I think it’s unisex leaning masculine. There’s not enough fruit or florals to really punch this as feminine. Do not hesitate to try this as a guy. Performance is great, it lasts well enough on skin and lingers on clothes for days. This is a very night time oriented fragrance, and probably lacks the versatility to be worn in summer during the night or day. You kind of need a cool air around you to contrast the deepness of this scent. I do get the banana pudding comparison, but I don’t mind it at all. Though I wouldn’t even call it a gourmand either, it’s just the really refined deep sweetness that you notice. This is a very nice fun fragrance to wear on a cold night out in a city or the center of town. I would have to rate this as a 9.5/10. I start to crave the scent when I haven’t smelled it in a while.

Such a polarizing scent to me. My mind says disgusting, but my body says nonpareil. Although I threw away the tester strip I had for this relatively quickly, I still smelled it almost a hundred times over to make up what this smelled like to me. New York Nights is, to me, an absolute masterpiece of a gourmand fragrance. There is a weird, yet pleasing amalgamation of caramel, coffee, and an unlisted note of banana that makes this exciting, delicious and passionate in a beautiful and never-before seen way. This is one of the few fragrances with an exorbinant pricetag that I have been considering saving up for, because it absolutely awestruck me the first time I smelled it in an almost-intimate way. I do not detect any marine in this like others are saying, but instead just a sweet, gourmand paragon with a depth that I've never seen in such a fragrance before.

I do not live in an area where I can smell non-designer scents. (I had already smelled every designer scent in Macy's 5 times) However, I visited a Bloomingdale in a big city near me, and to my surprise, I saw a lot of the more popular niche fragrance brands. I immediately started searching for fresh scents I had not smelled yet as I need a summer fragrance. PDM Sedley was a cologne I really enjoyed. Then, I saw the Bond No. 9 table. Not thinking much of it, I went to go smell each one, grabbing for the ones that look more fresh and citric. I picked up New York Lights, sprayed it on my arm, smelled it, and I knew immediately I needed it. I could not stop smelling it. I did not care that it wasn't a summer time fragrance. I felt as if colognes and perfumes were ruined because they were not New York Lights. Seriously the best scent I have ever smelled.

I'd say its overpriced for retail $470 for a bottle but if you can pick it up for under 250 than its a perfect deal for what it is. Its a very realistic gourmand and doesnt feel too overpowering, yet it has a thickness to it that makes it edible. Its not nauseatingly sweet to the point where it gives me a headache, and I'd say people who arent a fan of gourmands will probably like this one as its not super synthetic or overpowering. Longevity lasts around 9-10 hours with 3 feet projection which is fair. Now the smell itself on the opening is much of a banana bread type smell, and the drydown shows the perfected caramel and coffee notes that bring out the best of this fragrance. Bond no. 9 is a very interesting and unique house that can be appreciated with time

When I tried this fragrance the first time, I disliked it very much because it was too masculine and nauseating. However, when I tried this again in December when the temperature was getting colder, I immediately fell in love with this scent. It is narcotic and intoxicating sweet caramel with some dense floral reminding me of banana pudding. I think there is some similarity with Ylang in Gold by M. Micallef, however, this is more mature, sweeter, less floral, and more unisex in my opinion. Unfortunately, the price is insanely crazy, however, it has extraordinary vibes. Whenever I wear this scent, it makes me wanna visit New York. I also love the bottle design, which is a dreamy New York night that we imagine and expect what New York should be.

Fragrance Journal Entry #93 So alot of people call this the "banana bread" fragrance but to me i don't get much of the bread part and the banana smell itself isn't like a natural banana smell, more of a banana puree like in a banana cream pie, so a bit synthetic syrupy sweet but very nice. The caramel in this is excellent and i would say it's actually the star of the show, the coffee note gives a bit of "rounded" feel to the sweetness. I don't pick up on much florals until maybe the dry down with a little powderyness. Overall this is a great date night intimate fragrance or one you just wear for yourself to enjoy, quite addicting actually. Performance is mid but worth owning. Rating: 8.5/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

Jomashop had a VERY nice sale on this (less than $200 for 100 ml) so I finally decided to buy it. The opening, frankly, is underwhelming. I was worried. Then it dries into this incredible mix of caramel and banana bread with a healthy sprinkle of white floral and a finish that's a whiff of the sea. And it is beautiful! So well balanced. Labeled as unisex but is sweet enough to lean more feminine to me. Sillage is moderate but quite long-lasting. On me, a solid 8-9 hours on the skin--long enough to carry you from the office through a date night. Some say this is best saved for evening; I disagree. Day or night and in any season, spray her! So far, my fave from Bond No. 9.

One of the best gourmand perfumes ever made! Unique! Imagine banana pancakes with caramel and hint of coffee. The scent could also be compared to banana bread. I'm not exactly sure which note creates the subtle banana aroma, but I absolutely love it. The longevity is over 8 hours, and it can last for days on clothes. The only downside is the high price - many people might skip it because of that, but i think it is worth every penny Mine was purchased directly from their store in New York, but i've noticed it occasionally shows up on discounts sites in Europe. If you find it at good price and you're wondering whether to get it - JUST BUY IT!

This is my all time favorite fragrances and it’s not even close. The coffee, with caramel, florals, saltiness, and amber work together seamlessly. It’s blended incredibly well. Definitely not for summer and spring though, also expensive and somewhat formal. The projection on this for me is 7-8 feet with a strong sillage. The longevity on this for me is around a day, but after 12 hours it becomes a much more intimate distance. I would describe this as perfect and all of the cons are not true, not safe for blind buy due to taste and price however, but you absolutely have to give it a chance.

Very sweet yet clean scent. Smells like a warm baked good laid out on a fancy clean table cloth that was washed with a rich, fragrant softener. In the beginning I get a lot of the sweet notes, which comes off as banana bread to some, although to me it does smell like an ultra sweet caramel coffee. It is not a very overpowering or potent scent, however. It does manage to retain that sweetness and fade into a much cleaner and pleasing scent for the next few hours, and does not fade in it's moderate potency. Overall I do feel that the price is fair and that it is well hyped for a reason.

A creamy, simple perfume that will be noticed but won't bother the people around you. I think this smells more like banana than caramel. The floral notes are very subtle, but the coffee and banana blend very nicely and create a sweet but rich smell; It has great longevity and is very crowd pleasing. With all Bond fragrances, it's very overpriced, but I am very fond of the perfume, regardless of the linearity. If you have a decent budget and are looking for a sweet, intimate perfume, this is a great buy! (not for retail price haha)

Frustrating, because this is truly a delicious, unique scent. Caramel, gourmand explosion before settling into a beautiful, somewhat powdery, Juicy Fruit gum-like dream (I swear to me it smells kinda like Juicy Fruit gum!). The problem is that it lasts MAYBE 2-3 hours on my skin with projection for maybe the first 30 minutes. For 400 bucks a bottle, I better be leaving a trail down the street for at least half the day! A shame. If it lasted longer and projected better this would definitely be a signature fragrance contender.

I absolutely adore this fragrance, one of my current faves. Gourmand without being too in your face, light enough for general wear but just dark enough for night time wear too. Very pricey though, I don’t think I could ever be tempted to drop that amount of money on it even though I love it. If you do want to get it at a discount then Notino is probably your best shout, as discounted I definitely think it’s worth it! Scent: 10/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Versatility: 7/10 Price (at full price): 5/10 Overall: 7.6/10

Caramel, coffee, chocolate, banana...I tried describing it to my friend and I said it sounds horrible but it is AMAZING. It's the banana that just slays me - not a scent I have ever considered or wanted in a perfume, but it is what makes this one special. Lasts for 9 or 10 hours on me and projection is good - not too strong - but people around me notice it. I wear it at night in hot and humid weather and it shimmers in the heat. My favorite Bond.

Just got this scent in, love it so much, sweet caramel and banana bread smell which sounds weird but really works on my skin, haven’t smelled anything like it, im picking up that it’s mainly a night time scent but considering making it my signature because it does not seem to be too cloying. With dialed down sprays I really think this could work in any season or occasion except a hot summer day outside, but really shines at night.

This is banana in the best way. Sweet, creamy, but it totally works. It’s a gourmand but balanced and super wearable. Never too much of anything. If you just read the notes, you might run the other way if you're not into gourmands. Pops off the skin. Fun, smooth, and still elegant. For me, I can't imagine every going through a full bottle, but I could see the right person having this as their signature for events and evenings.

Wonderful fragrance here! It has a soft gourmand profile that makes your significant other want to lean in close. Ppl have this marked as it can only be worn in the Winter, but I beg to differ as this could be worn year-round. Beautifully composed, unisex not too feminine and not too masculine. Pretty good scent. A bit different from what I normally enjoy but it's good in its own right. I'll admit hearing people mention banana when describing this gave me the ick but it was executed very well in this case. I wouldn't doubt that this is a crowd-pleaser. Besides the scent, the projection is great and the longevity is great too. However, the price is a bit steep. Overall 7/10

I have been intoxicated by this scent ever since I first sampled it in bloomingdale’s. It was definitely love at first sniff for me and I knew I needed a full bottle. It’s bold and unique. Sexy for men and women. Gourmand but not overdone. Sweet and spicy in the best way with a small aquatic and floral touch in the dry down that somehow just works. This to me is a 10/10 fragrance.

On my skin it smells like pink bubblegum, but in a really refined way, especially on dry down. I personally love it! If you wanted to like Sundered by Byredo, but were put off by musk and neroli heaviness, try this! 💕 The caramel mixing with other notes registers a little different on everyone, but on my skin it smells similar to when you open a disk of hubba bubba bubbletape! 😍

This stuff smelled meh in the beginning gave me a strong synthetic nail polish smell with the caramel, but dried down it smelled amazing like a caramel Frappuccino, some people also said it smells like strawberry and banana cheesecake and I can see why, but after testing a few times I started to not mind the nail polish smell as much, 9/10.

I do pick up that “nail polish” note in the opening that a lot of people mention. Once it settles on the skin though, it fades within a few minutes and turns into something much more enjoyable. What comes through after is a warm, nutty banana bread kind of scent on my skin that feels really comforting to wear. Perfect for fall or winter.

The initial spray has me so worried bc I blind bought this but once it drys down it really is a great smell it just smells so fancy and clean and get the flower smell very much while also getting the coffee and caramel all at the same time and it me describing it seems like it would smell bad but it smells so good you just have to try it

This fragrance does not smell like you think it would. It has a sweet element to it, but the marinw notes, coffee and florals are fantastic. It is sweet but not really. It is fresh but not really. It really nails the perfect balance point between them with a coffee note in the background to bring everything together in lovely fashion.

Soapy caramel. That’s it. Never thought I would describe a fragrance that way. Lasted on the skin for over 5 hours before I had a shower. I can definitely see why it’s popular but also why others may find it boring & overpriced. I feel like it’s supposed to be a crowd pleaser - not a niche lover’s ‘one-in-a-million’.

Smells like freshly baked banana bread with a bit of caramel on top. On skin the banana note isn’t as prominent and the caramel really pops a bit a more, definitely one of the best gourmand scents just not entirely worth the price tag. If you can find for cheaper anywhere else, definitely worth the pick up

Bond does an incredible job of making fragrances which are gourmand, but still somehow really chic, wearable and grown up - not straight food. This is another example of that (same with Tribeca). I really really like this. Whereas Tribeca is a LOVE. This might be my new 2nd-favorite by the brand.

Opens with heavier florals leaning feminine..dries to warm salty caramel with florals just peeking through that turns it true unisex. I find bond no.9 use of white florals makes some unisex fragrances come off feminine in the openings. I have the same experience with Greenwich Village. .

This was love at first smell!! I wear New York Nights during winter and summer/spring nights. I layer this with Followed by Kerosene, which is a coffee, chocolate, caramel scent. It is beautiful alone and layered. This fragrance will be a staple in my collection. I love it!

I would swear there is ylang in here, although there is none listed. I like this a lot, but to me it is not a straightforward gourmand (thankfully). I smell some sweet ambery florals with patchouli. I'd love to have this. EDIT: bought a bottle and loving it!

Not only does it smell so delicious and fantastic, but I sprayed it once on a tester and after sitting in my room for 2 days, I can still smell it several feet away. Very unique scent profile so if you have the money and you want to get compliments, buy this

I probably already have a review of this, but I’ve had this for about 2 years now. Every time I wear it I’m able to pick out more of the notes individually. I’d say it’s more Gardenia heavy than what the note breakdown says! Still love this so much.

This stuff is amazing. Gentleman, do not hesitate on this one. Absolute caramel and toffee bomb thats not overpowering. More masculine to me but definitely not so much that a woman wouldnt smell amazing in this as well. Great fall scent.

Amazing sweet caramel gourmand fragrance, perfect for both genders, gonna get this for me and my mother. Also very good for year-round, i don't think that this is limited to winter and fall, just primarily gonna wear in those seasons.

One of my favorites from Bond. I get a mix of men's cologne with banana bread. So unique! Definitely unisex (the banana bread smell softens and sweetens it), but overall leans a tad masculine. Always have it in my collection.

This fragrance smells like a banana with caramel, I love this fragrance so much. I heard some people say this fragrance has a short longevity which is completely incorrect, this fragrance may be my signature scent one day.

Amazing gourmand fragrance if you want to smell straight up edible it’s a must have for that $200-$250 price range anything more than that it’s overpriced imo. I can most definitely see why Fanum was hyping this up.

I got this at a really good price and would never pay retail for it. The scent is amazing but it does not last as long as it should considering that price tag. If you have the money though it is a great pickup.

I got a decant of this and smelled it as aquatic and floral in opening like this really familiar girl hair product smell which then it moves into a salty caramel dry down. Buying a whole bottle soon forsure🔥

This is a gourmand lovers dream, the perfect blend of sweetness mixed with a salty undertone which really blends together. Lasts and projects quite well and is a perfect fragrance for the winter

Very good smell but extremly overpriced and overhyped for the performance of it, amazing bottle design and presentation but can’t live up to to the price from the performance unfortunately
