Fragrance Review For Queen Elizabeth II Bond Top Notes Mace Lantana Leaves Dates Middle Notes Rose Tuberose Orris Root Base Notes Musk Amber This was a limited edition fragrance from Bond which sold exclusively at Harrods in 2012 just a year after Kate Middleton's wedding and during the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. This is a mature scent, right from the start. This was selling to women who would die to have tea with the Queen and wouldn't make a big deal over Kate. The bottle was lovely and it had a lovely illustration of the royal coach and Buckingham Palace. The scent matches up with the regal air of the celebrations. The scent opens with nutmeg and spice, some dates and lantana leaves. It's spicy and even the slightest bit woodsy because there is a sandalwood that is not listed in the notes on Fragrantica. The spicy woodsy character makes it unisex or "Church" lady. It was a perfume I thought I'd never like but it kept drawing me in. The spiciness is desirable to me. This was a perfume that my friend Lucia bought for herself and it smells better on her. She is over 60. The scent becomes progressively floral with iris, rose and tuberose. The iris is here in the form of orris root. It's powdery but not too much. The floral note that keeps jumping out on you is the rose. It's a genuine English rose. It's dark red in color, velvety in texture, elegant and refined. It smells like a bouquet of flowers for the Queen. Tuberoses also decorate the bouquet. Very lovely and that iris! The dry down is musky on me. I am not getting anything other than a magnificent musk. The little amber that it contains matches up with the spiciness of the top notes. The scent is a superb formal fragrance to wear to black tie galas and weddings, anniversaries, special dinners. It has a food scent spicy and creamy like a meal. A meal that the Queen is having on a large banquet table inside Buckingham Palace. While it does have an old lady connotation or Church perfume smell, it's really quite the aroma if you give it a chance! I only wear it to Church the few times I go to Church. I don't necessarily think of this perfume as a scent for older women. There is something also that evokes the feasts and festive air of Christmas about it. One of the most beautiful and underrated Bond perfumes. Discontinued. Beautiful.
