Sutton Place

Despite kinda loving this, I can get behind people leaving poor ratings/reviews. The only niche thing about Sutton Place is its performance. This fills rooms like it thinks it is Amouage, but oh boy, let me tell you that farce ends there. Crumple up odds and ends of all your pleasant basic colognes into one perfume, and that is pretty much what this is. I can find bits and pieces of Percival, Sauvage Elixir, drydown of Dylan Blue, and I am sure there are others. Pretty much follows the premise of an Axe/Lynx body spray, but this is just taking that idea and doing it with quality ingredients. In fact, if I smelled SP blindly and were told it was a Versace frag, I wouldn't question it. But, in a world where most guys are wearing Sauvages and Bleu de Chanel's, any average person that gets their nose on you wearing this will think you smell damn good. For the record, this does smell good. Premium, yet unabatingly basic... It's like if Roja Dove were told to create an Axe dupe using his own materials. So what is wrong with Sutton Place? The scent itself is very alluring to the masses, not to mention it comes in one of the coolest Bond no 9 bottles, but the MSRP this goes for is gut-wrenching. I would be very underwhelmed if paid $400 for this. It's a joke. A glaring problem with a release like this from Bond is that it prices out the average consumer in the designer market who would be attracted to this, so a large chunk of the people getting their noses on this stuff and leaving reviews will be enthusiasts with different expectations for four-hundred-dollar niche items. Instead of offering something new, this is just reminding them of when they smelled those cheap rack scents as a newbie ten years ago. Downvotes galore. So why do I love it? I got my bottle for $156 Cad. FragBuy had a holiday promotional sale which, when combined with some gift cards, allowed me to knock this down to what it inarguably should be selling for at retail. This is an extremely solid designer category entry with good quality and a little extra oomph, and I paid a designer price for it. I couldn't be happier. I love Sutton Place, but I also cannot recommend it unless you have the ability to pick it up at a discount greater than 50%. TLDR; Smells good; the bottle is good; the price is a joke so offensive that it deserves to be cancelled on Twitter.

Laurice hit another home-run with this masculine, fruity Oriental. They say that you should never judge a book by its cover, but if you like brown crocodile with classy gold lettering, you will LOVE Sutton Place. Refined, elegant, sophisticated, mature, and wealthy are adjectives that spring to mind. Although tobacco is not listed in the notes, I get a sweet pipe tobacco note on the dry-down. Also, there is a strong fruity scent that reminds me of apples and pomegranate. Very Middle-Eastern. A scent fit for a king, with a price tag to match. Be careful not to apply more than two sprays because for the first two hours it goes into beast mode. Later, it fades away very quickly. Kind of the way a diplomat makes a good first impression and then moves on to the next person, place, or thing. But don't be fooled. This diplomat of a fragrance is not a one-dimensional, boring charlatan. It is the complete opposite. Classy to the core. Merci, Laurice. You're the best.

Not a super niche or complex fragrance, but it doesn't need to be. Sutton Place smells great, and can easily be worn as a signature scent. The leather and fruits are the most prominent, but it's a very smooth leather accord. The pineapple and vanilla give it a great sweetness, but without over doing it. Can be worn casual and dressed up, and can be worn by men of any age. Such a sexy fragrance overall. It also performs amazingly and lasts throughout the day. I love Bond No 9, however I do admit that the majority of the their fragrances, including this one are overpriced at retail. But this can be bought for a fraction of the price at discounters, where I absolutely would say it's worth it. Give this fragrance a proper wearing when you sample, and decide from there Overall: 8.5/10

This one is super tricky very good scent after wearing it several times but the composition is complex I don’t care what anyone says it smells like idk anymore lol but I like it a lot I hit the love button and the smell is just fruity...... idk what lol the pepper is a heavy hitter as well in this can be worn any season and most noses will appreciate it I believe after first 30 min has past it eases its pepper and the smell is I still say indescribable lol but it’s nice this should be one of there best sellers def

I don't really get the hate on this fragrance that much.. It starts out with a really punchy juicy bergamot followed with a tart note from the pineapple and a bit of an ozonic/ammonia scent from the cassis. That lasts for about 20ish minutes and then dries down into a soft leather musk scent. It doesn't smell very generic to me, or like axe either. It won't blow you away by any means but It's overall not a bad scent. There are better choices however I would consider this as a good buy as well.
