The Scent Of Peace

i think one component which makes this fragrance unmistakably beautiful is the grapefruit; a scintillating citrus which blends well & harmoniously with other notes and dries down to a peaceful softness. That's what i get from Bond No 9's The Scent of Peace. When i smelled it a few times, it was SO familiar to me, but i couldn't quite place it. I was enthralled & captivated by this utterly feminine & discretely joyful scent. Then it hit me, after i was given a sample to try at home: Bath & Body Works Country Apple! It really hit me & i was overjoyed. Country Apple had this same delightfully floral fruity aroma that i just couldn't put my finger on. What notes, what mixture was responsible for its sweet, playful intrigue? For the longest time it was just 'je ne sais quoi' but now i think I understand the magic behind it as i detect its very same essence here in The Scent of Peace: Grapefruit, Lily-of-the-valley & Cedar. Here cedar is blended so subtly & exquisitely that you'd barely detect it. At least i wouldn't. Smelling something like this, I would think most definitely some kind of fruity floral, but never, 'floral woody musk'. i would never have imagined a woody note could give this such an aromatic freshness & exquisite drydown, something which would be so necessary in order to make this stand out on its own. As a whole, the fragrance is coy, playful, feminine, gentle yet grabbing. For me, this is what allure smells like. I have to praise the use of Virginia Cedar here because it heightens & pronounces the other fruity-floral aspects like grapefruit, blueberry, & lily-of-the-valley. It tempts them out from their hiding place for all to see. Surely the musk is responsible for giving this some depth and maturity, but whatever its use here, some alchemy is taking place. Quite an ideal marriage of notes in the floral woody musk category. A soft & creamy melange of bright & delicious sparkling "apple blossom" accord. A mesmerizing sensorial experience. I am floored. Now when i think of what a peaceful soul would smell like, it is to be found in the essence of Bond No 9 Scent of Peace.

The Scent of Peace is magnificent. All the notes blend together perfectly to transform this fragrance into something transcendent and uplifting. I highly disagree with the reviews that say this is generic - I cannot even find the proper words to describe what this smells like, other than that it’s light, airy, and ethereal. This is the singular must-have out of the entire Bond No. 9 collection. Rumor has it that this scent was born out of an idea to create peace after 9/11, and that money was donated toward UNICEF from the purchase of individual bottles. Well, if any scent could possibly achieve world peace, this might just be the one to do it. This fragrance will forever remind me of 2010, when I was working at Saks Fifth Avenue and spent part of my days hawking fragrances. The Scent of Peace was my everyday go-to. Even though co-workers claimed that it was a scent exclusively for women, I sold it to plenty of men and still maintain that this is an entirely unisex fragrance. Guys, don’t even bother wasting your time with spinoffs The Scent of Peace For Him or The Scent of Peace Natural; this is the OG, and there’s a reason why this original bottle spun off so many duplicates. Sadly, I can no longer rock this scent, as it’s now forever associated with that period of my life and (ironically) a rather turbulent relationship at the time. But this once-peaceful scent lives on in my memory, and I would encourage others to create new and more hopeful memories with it. In five words or less: Infinitely ethereal peace.

At first sniff, I was not a fan of this fragrance, I got a blast of cedar-y grapefruit and felt my wallet cry out for forgiveness for this citrus mistake. I tried this at the apex of summer heat but resisted the initial urge to wash it off... then, about an hour later, the musk and lily of the valley and current began to play nicely with my skin chemistry and I could not stop smelling it. I would say this becomes a skin scent very quickly but it is a beautiful fruity musk, think little puffy clouds dotted with purple fruits. I agree with EmpressVision here and can't imagine anyone being offended by this, even if over-sprayed. I think this scent can get along with any taste and won't overpower the senses. I've also worn this as a cozy nighttime scent in the winter, it goes great with a chunky knit sweater and a good book! For me, it's gone from a 'yuck' to a 'yay' in just a handful of wears. A safe blind buy if you like musk and fruit.

Lovely Lovely Lovely. I got a test spray of this on my wrist and it is now at the top of my WANTED list. The scent is fresh without being boring, sweet without being sickly, grapefruity without being sour and although it's not listed I also got a hint of freesia. This is classy enough to suit a lady but wouldn't be out of place on a younger girl either. This perfume is quite linear, it still smelled like I had just sprayed it on when I returned home a few hours later. It has a similar freshness to Light Blue but IMHO this is much much better and although much more expensive, I think it's worth it. This would be the perfect gift to a woman you hold in high regard.

Fragrance matches its name. It's quiet & gentle. It will never overwhelm or offend no matter how many spritzes. It reads like a friendly smile. The floral/fruity combo is calming and pleasant. Smells fresh and so clean. Great after shower scent. I have a hard time with grapefruit notes & here, I don't mind it at all. Perfect for all things casual IMO. Perfect for spring and summer. I disagree with this fragrance being suggested for young girls. The fruity notes are tempered well by the musk & cedar. The only negative is that it's over priced. If you can snag a discounted bottle, treat yourself.

If you are looking for heavy long lasting perfume, this one is not for you. Its very complicated at the same time its very simple. The fragrance is very light, can be accepted by all the people. its light fruity with light musky and stay so beautifully on the skin. Tip : never ever mix it with other perfumes. its very light and sensitive. العطر خفيف جدا و رائع في نفس الوقت, رائحة التوت و المسك اكثر شي واضح . لا تحاول ان تخلط العطر مع العطور الاخرى.

I LOVE this scent. It is sooooooooooooo good. Every single note that it is in this bottle is perfect and just hits the spot for any connoisseur of good perfume. It is very comforting, yet has absolute spirit. It lasts a really good long time, but for even better results (as I have found with every single perfume out there, if you spray it on your clothes instead of your skin, it hugs you for a good long while before its wistful farewell).

A guy's review: My god, I am attracted to this smell. This is what I would imagine Angels smelling like. In my opinion, this is the day time/summer version of Armani Code for Women and Code for Women is to be used as this lady's night scent. The sillage is light, which makes it perfect for a date/work scent. For the smell alone, I give this a 10/10. A very beautiful scent that's on the verge to becoming sexy.

I fell in love with this perfume. It gives Princess Diana vibes, trust me. It just does. It's sweet and clean. Great for daytime. If you wear it at night, layer with cinnamon. Amazing. Another sugar, spice, and everything nice perfume. Just like her, in her purple Versace suit and pearl necklace. The PERFECT gift. There's not much to say, the bottle is just as beautiful as the scent. I love it. BISOUS

Another Michel Almairac fragrance and another beauty. This is SUCH a beautiful fragrance. It's one that will make you breathe a sigh of relief. It's light, airy and sweet. I love it, just not the sillage or lasting power, both of which are quite weak. It's a perfect summer scent that I will enjoy for years to come.

I understand the Light Blue comparisons but on my skin they're thankfully very different on dry down. LB is woody and citrus forward while this quickly mellows out to a sweet black currant. Very wearable, feminine and long lasting. I can't wait to try it in the summer, I will report back

I love this scent. I've read a lot of comparisons to Light Blue but I disagree...I like Light Blue but that fragrance is crisp and airy...The musk in Scent of Peace gives it a warmer depth. This is a great wear to work fragrance. I only wish it lasted a little longer on the skin.

Happy and bright! A wear anytime any weather scent. I don’t find this to be too sweet. This fragrance is a true uplifter! Black currant and grapefruit add a sparkly layer to a clean dry down. Scent of peace you will always have a place in my collection and heart!

I love this! First blast is DG Light Blue but then the black currant really comes forward along with the lily of the valley. Bright, crisp, sweet..also reminds me of Philosophy Unconditional Love which I adore.

This scent is so pretty. Light but long lasting, soft, feminine. It can be worn anywhere during any time and not offend anyone.

Wow. I was wrong. I had a whole review on this, but I was wrong. Would I have personally made a blend with more decidedly symbolic "peaceful" florals? Yes. However, this isn't my creation, and I'm not here to necessarily impose my opinions. I was in a different state of mind when I tried this today, more reflecting and, yes, *peaceful*. I can honestly say that it reflects that mood nicely, and it is an uncomplicated, fresh take on an angle of "peace". I get primarily blackcurrant and grapefruit, with little beyond that. I do see why people liken it to a body spray, and I agree (having quite the array of Bath and Body Works). It's a little cleaner and higher end though, you *can* tell that it cost a bit more. NOT the overwhelming price tag, but it's on the next stratum up from a body spray. I do like this a lot, and it grew on me once I got out of my head about it. I won't be purchasing, but the decant I have is nice to have in my purse. This won't offend a soul, and it's great for this time of year (June), spring transitioning into summer. It smells oddly...psychedelic. Almost holographic. Light, silvery, reflective.

Agree with another user here that it smells exactly like Cote d'azur by Oribe on the dry down but is much more costly. Very pleasant and clean/sweet scent but not sweet enough to be gourmand in my opinion. I only purchased the bottle due to visiting the flagship store in NYC, will opt for Cote d'azur when this one runs out. To note the longevity, I have to use 3 spritz in order for the scent to last 8 hours (when something like Chanel Eau Tendre takes 2 spritz and lasts 24 hours). Of all BN9's scents, I would say this is one of the lightest. I've also come to realize that most of Bond No 9's scents appear elsewhere in the fragrance community often at a more affordable price AND made in France. Not sure if there is a preference for frag's made in Europe VS USA here. Their popular Greenwich Village also smells similar to Baccarat Rouge but I have a feeling BR540 has better longevity.

I wore D&G Light Blue for a long time and I am not reminded of that fragrance at all when I smell The Scent Of Peace. This fragrance is more feminine, much sweeter, and has a much less prominent cedar note. I would agree with pyarkaaloo: this does evoke Country Apple from Bath & Body Works (one of my favorite fragrances during my teens). I think it's something about the mouthwatering tartness that results from the amalgamation of the grapefruit and black currant. This fragrance has an unmistakable, youthful appeal to it. As it dries down and loses its sparkling freshness, I'm reminded of blueberry muffins, which is delicious. Other than that, I can't rave about this fragrance. While it is lovely, I find it very faint. It's definitely lacking in the sillage and longevity departments, and is not exceptional enought to warrant the huge price tag.

D&G Light Blue used to be my signature scent. It was fresh, clean, refreshing, just perfect for hot days. I’ve used it all throughout my teenage years. I would always keep a bottle of it. but all of a sudden it started stinging my nose, i started getting a strange metallic note and couldn't bear it but i loved it so much back then that i had to find something which smells as good as LB but at the same time doesn't sting my nose and one fine day I stumbled upon Bond No. 9 scent of peace for her.the moment I smelled SOP it smelled exactly like light blue used to smell 10 years ago actually even better and I just had to get a bottle of it! Longevity and sillage was better too. Lasts about 6 hours on me. if you are a LB lover you're surely gonna love it more. the price tag is quite hefty but anything to smell good.

To me, this smells just like Dior Addict 2 before it got reformulated a few billion times (ok, 3, but it's now so watered down that it's pointless) which was my favorite summer scent for years and has lots of good memories attached. It's weird, because this doesn't really have any notes in common, but they are very similar on my skin. Must be a chemistry thing. This doesn't really smell like Light Blue. Same genre for sure, but LB has a lot of cedar in it and is in general just more masculine and aquatic. This is fresh, but fruity all the way. Honestly I could see myself buying a full bottle of this come summer, just because I really can't tolerate any type of perfume except for clean shampoo scents like this when the temperature hits 80. Stupid summer. But this is an exceptionally nice clean shampoo scent.

The Scent of Peace sticks out amongst a sea of fruity florals. It's light, fresh and incredibly juicy. Black currant is probably my favorite fruity note, it's tart and always smells like it's just dripping with juiciness. That being said - Scent of Peace is the perfect fragrance for summer, when you want to feel fresh and keep cool. There's a breezy, airy quality there that just feels refreshing. The Scent of Peace is a bit on the softer side - and didn't have much projection for me (which is a shame, considering the price). Lastly, the scent really matches its name. I can't imagine The Scent of Peace offending anyone, even the most scent-sensitive types.

So let me get this straight, frag snobs. Unless a fragrance wows you with raunchy animalics or throwback chypres it's relegated to Basic Bin. Is that right? Yes, this fragrance is nothing new. Yes, it smells derivative of dozens of mall crowd pleasers that came before. Yes, it's obscenely overpriced. But it's still a really nice scent! For anyone browsing these reviews for gift recommendations, this is a safe blind buy. It's high femme, unoffensive, and classically pretty. It's very similar to D&G Light Blue, but also smells very similar to Oribe hair care products and to the Oribe signature fragrance Cote D'Azur.

If you have steered cleared of the blackcurrant note because of cat pee associations then fear not because here it is very nice. The grapefruit is the juicy dominant note here with the blackcurrant providing a dry, slightly bitter twist. I do love the Lily valley in this summer scent. Fresh, cooling and lovely. The musk is what smooths out any edges and helps these three notes blend well together. I cant say it develops much on me. It's very pleasant but I wouldn't pay the big bucks asked by Bond. It lasts a couple of hours and the sillage quickly retracts to a skin scent.

I do not see the resemblance to Light Blue that many people are talking about. Light blue is extremely citrus and fresh. Granted, Scent of Peace is VERY fresh, but it also has a strong floral scent that LB does not have. I do have to agree though that this scent does have a very STRONG shampooish scent which would probably be why is smells so clean and fresh. Very nice. I wore this continually for about 8-9hrs, which is VERY long on me considering most fragrances only like 4-5 hrs on me. I really "like" this fragrance, but it is NOT a must have LOVE perfume for me.

Note of interest: I clicked on the link above (64 oz EDP for $2.00{!}) and this is what I found: A 64 oz (1/2 gallon) brown jug of Scent of Peace along with an refillable atomiser and deep violet coloured Swarovski Crystal amphora vitrine (fancy-schmancy parfum bottle) for (ahem!) $2,900.00 (quite a bargain, since it wass $3,500.00-that's 600.00 savings!). Please someone (anyone!) fix this typo...I really thought it was going to be a mini bonbon for a great price... OOOHH! Where are those smelling salts...I feel faint!

Ater reading reviews and reading about the notes and perfumer of the Scent of Peace, I was so excited to get my sample in the mail. The name also seemed to mean something special for me. I quickly opened the box and searched for this sample first. I sprayed it on a card and my first impression was...Mariah Carey Luscious Pink! Now, don't get me wrong...Luscious Pink has been one of my favorite celebrity scents for a long time, but I expected something different . . .more unique from Bond #9.

It's clean, fresh and is reminiscent of DG light blue and Creed's Acqua Fiorentina. As a matter of fact, l have been asked if lnwas wearing DG when l wore it once. I think DG is a little heavier and Creed AF is lighter. I really enjoyed SOP. l found the male version to be more complex. But it's very non offensive and everyone seems to like it. When l wanna project cute, princess vibes l wear SOP. You can do it cheaper but l really dig Bond and the niche vibe.

What is the scent of peace? First comes the splash of grapefruit, then it develops into a smooth, creamy blend of black currant with very subtle wood accent. Of course the bottle is beautiful, but I got a bon bon sample package for a very good price ($73 I think) on e-bay. When I see bon bons selling for $4.99 each + shipping, well the price is just astronomical. Too bad. Oh, for my $73 I got 39 samples, probably 32 of them different.

I really like the floral opening of this scent, but the drydown gets very sweet on my skin. I think that after an hour or two, it loses some of the complexity that you get in that first burst of scent, and you're left with a very strong Lily of the Valley smell that isn't as sophisticated as what I'd expect from Bond No. 9. I like it well enough for evening when I want to try something different, but it's not an everyday scent for me.

Def not a bad frag, I would say this is more of a refined version of DG Light Blue. I have worn it a few times and it was not bad. But for men I would say this is a Spring scent strictly and daytime only. For women, daytime--Spring, Winter. You can get kind of tired of it during any other time of day and season.

It smells like summer rain but with a touch of sweet flowers. Its also fruity, light, fresh, sexy and simple. It also smells like good smelling shampoo! It might be a little too "pretty" and "girly" but there is definitely something special with this scent in which I love, maybe a little kick of fruit punch.

Fresh, clean, perfectly boring. Not a completely "basic" scent, but there's nothing particularly inspired about it. The bottle design is lovely, and, in my book, this is the preeminent Bond no 9 fragrance--if you like their whole thing, buy a bottle of this (or a candle) and call it a day.

I love this scent profile, however for the price I don’t think SOP is worth it. It smells 80% like light blue intense from D&G. Honestly when I wear Light blue with Black Berry Tonic spray from Target it’s literally identical to SOP. I love this, but I won’t repurchase once it’s gone.

Clean with a citrus introduction. I like it but there's just nothing special about it! Nice everyday scent but it's a mediocre fragrance for the price. Check out the other Bond no.9s if you're in the mood to spend some cash money!

I like this scent a lot, and some how get a lot of compliments too. Even for people that hate perfume normally. Guess it's the time of that you notice but very quiet and smooth.

Fresh, sweet-tart fruit over a base of subtly-crisp cedar. The fruity top notes open clear and bright, like fresh nectar, before drying down to a softer, more dampened sweetness. Meanwhile, the crisp cedar falls in seamlessly with the tangy fruit; only its subtle, paper-dry texture distinguishes it as a separate, woody element. The musk adds softness, like a translucent veil, and there's a delicate freshness from the lily of the valley. This absolutely reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on what. It's a bit like a demure, springtime cousin of VS Bombshell, actually, with that shared structure of a bright-fruity top, fresh-floral middle, and musky-woody base. Though ultimately, I feel like The Scent Of Peace bears at least a passing resemblance to maybe a dozen other fragrances I've smelled before, not just one. Which could be why, although it's a perfectly pretty, well-blended, agreeable scent, I don't find it interesting enough to be engaging, let alone craveable. It smells like the feeling of attending a tasteful, by-the-numbers wedding for some distant family member you feel no particular attachment to; you're just patiently waiting out the ceremony, making some polite conversation, having some cake—purely because it would be rude not to.

Bought a full bottle because it reminded me of Dior Addict 2 that got discontinued. It’s a pretty, fruity scent but not long after I got it the scent turned and like one of the reviews mentioned below, it had this off-putting metallic scent. I recently went to a boutique and the sales rep mentioned that something similar happened to another customer so I guess this is a common problem with this scent.. I’d barely made a dent in it and it’s sad having a full bottle that I can’t use. It hurts to throw out because it was so expensive and the bottle’s not cute so can’t use as home decor.. Probably won’t ever buy another Bond fragrance for fear of this happening again.

I agree with another poster, all I smell is wood also!! Maybe the tiniest hint of a fruity scent if you really stick your nose in it. Perhaps a reformulation?? It is incredibly soft and inoffensive, mainly because it sits incredibly close to the skin. Call me crazy, but for the price these sell for, I would expect something others could smell! I don’t see an occasion I would use this for, honestly. It’s not bad, I just don’t think it’s for me.

Not super impressed with this. Opens very fruity... I am more of a fan of amber, violet, musk (i see it's paired with cedar here) (this was a gift). But highly recommend for teenage girls, other reviewer is correct, it does remind me of bathtime for some reason...

This smells like a salon shampoo and not much else. It's clean and light, but it didn't last very long on me at all. If anyone knows what shampoo this smells like, hmu

Soft red apple scent... cannot pick out any of the notes

Sprayed this about 15 min ago. About 5 total sprays on clothes as well as skin (usual points). Initial smell was something like new or "fresh" plastic and a sour note that resembles bad breath? That new plastic smells gives it some sophistication I guess. 5min- The scent remained quite linear with that plastic smell with a hint of bad breath 2 hrs- Continue to be linear, however, it hasn't faded and the sillage remains quite prominent. Either I became slightly anosmic to that bad breath like smell, or it has subsided. I smell more plastic now. Projects out about 2 feet, however, I can see it would leave a trail. I think the scent is unique (I mean I've never smellt a fragrance that smells like fresh plastic), so it may pique someone's interest. This smells like a really high quality plastic product you've recently purchased. If you buy an electronic item and take it out of the box, and smells it immediately, you will smell something very similar. The sour like note provides it a kind of waxy green/leafy vibe. 5 hours- The leafy vibe is a bit subdued and a green citrus scent reveals along with the fresh plastic smell. The scent is still quite strong. 8 hours- The citrus, waxy, plastic smell continued and here and there I'd get stronger whiffs of it. At this point I was a bit tired of the smell and wanted it off my skin. The scent was still lingering. Had I not bathed, I think the scent would have lingered for ten hours. Overall: I thought the scent was very unique, however, I have mixed feelings about it. It is light and plastic smelling, yet sophisticated. I don't view smelling like a new plastic electronic item as negative (perhaps I'm a bit into gadgets). There is something elusive and expensive about the smell of a really expensive Sony 4K TV that you just recently purchased. However, I think the scent eventually made me a bit annoyed towards the end and I almost felt a bit sick. Scent: 6/10 Sillage:7/10 (2-4 feet) Longevity: 8/10 (10 hours)

A scent that went from love to hate for me... I fell in love with a Scent of Peace sample about 4 years ago, and ended up purchasing the full 3.4 Oz bottle almost immediately. My bottle was half full when I gave it away to a friend because the scent changed so much for me I could no longer wear it. Did my bottle go bad or did my nose change? Back when I loved this scent, it smelled like a softer, fruitier Light Blue which is a scent I quite like. I got a lot of grapefruit and black currant in the opening and musk in the dry down. I really loved how light and easy the scent was, it was very much a clean, skin scent after a few hours but still noticeable enough where I would get whiffs of it throughout the day. The scent was not offensive and could easily be worn by all age groups including a younger teen demographic. I do think the price I paid for a full bottle is insane, but it didn’t matter because I loved the scent so much. Fast forward to now, and something about this scent is absolutely repulsive to me. The once light and fruity lemons now smell stale and powdery. I get a very strong metallic note all throughout the dry down which translates to dirty on my skin. I even tried clearing out the straw in hopes it would fix the issue, but nothing worked. I ended up never reaching for Bond No 9 Scent of Peace again because of this shift. All in all, I do think for the price I paid and the way the perfume soured over time, I was better off getting another designer citrus floral instead of Scent of Peace. If you like this scent, save yourself the money and try out Versace Dylan Purple or Lanvin Eclat d’Arpège instead.

This is a beautiful, airy, happy, comfort bubble bath of fragrance!! I love the scent, but I don't understand why the initial silage has to be so 'eclipse everyone in the room!' kind of enormous. It may smell good, but that really is quite unnecessary! It does dry down on skin to a truly gorgeous, uplifting scent which is there and far more moderate, however if you don't want it in your face ALL day for very many hours then avoid your clothes! (My cats weren't keen at 6pm - lesson learned!) I do rate it highly.. with the above caveats.. though only if you can get it cheap because it is a crazy price point for what it is.

This does NOT suit my chemistry at all (as I keep saying, I'm a top notes retainer). It's a spanking clean scent, yes, but it smells like almost every other lemon/citrus scent on me - lovely & delicious showergel. I get some LOTV in the background eventually, but it morphs into the lemon too much to enjoy it separately, which is such a shame since I do love my LOTV. I get no base at all. If I didn't enjoy baths as much as I do, I'd get it for the sake of others around me - one spritz is an insta-bath/shower! - but that would be an insult to a scent that seems to develop into something quite lovely on other chemistries.
