Eau de Bonpoint

This is a difficult fragrance to find, but I finally got a bottle on ebay. I'd LOVE to have the concentre version but it's been impossible to get here in the US, so I have the alcohol free version. Anyway, it's a lovely addition to my collection, opens with citrus with orange blossom and basil in the heart and a juicy mandarin orange with a light mossy base. It's similar to Baby Tous and Tuvache Nectaroma, also to Tartine et Chocolat Ptisenbon. It shares some notes with Burberry Baby Touch, but doesn't have the powdery note I get from that. Longevity isn't great, nor is sillage but still, it lasts longer than I expected for a fragrance of this concentration.

has a strong, very natural neroli-note which is softened by mandarine in the opening and by the moss in the drydown. it's quite strong, distinctive (through the herbal note) and has lasting power. the clothes for my son I bought at bonpoint, smelled always that good, that I hesitated to wash them (they spray them in the stores). since many years now we both run around, happily perfumed with the same stuff.

My bottle is the 40ème Anniversaire edition, marking the brand’s 40th anniversary rather than the 40th anniversary of the fragrance itself. I bought it more than ten years ago, and it has become one of the scents I use most often at home. It is actually difficult for me to call it a perfume. The smell is very much like a classic baby-care product—no sweetness, no powderiness, just a soft blend of light citrus, a gentle orange blossom impression, and a touch of green freshness. There are no clearly defined layers, and both projection and longevity are very light. The alcohol-free version in particular fades quite quickly. I usually spray it after a shower or inside my wardrobe. It immediately creates a feeling of cleanliness, softness, and skin comfort. Very pleasant—honestly better than the smell of an actual baby.

For years I have looked for the children's store, where I first witnessed this very memorable fragrance. And when they closed down their store in my favorite shopping mall, my shopping experiences were never quite the same. I always found the fragance of Bon Point rich in "shopping" memories, and only wishing my home could smell like Bon Point every time I walked into it! No, shopping is more than spending money on needed (or not needed) items. It can be an experience in cre ativity and memories. One does not take pictures when they shop, many times we are by ourselves. No collaboration there, and as one knows, memories are great but in the busy, professional and family worlds we live, a beautiful aroma is the best way to spark that fading memory of a favorite day or moment. And if I am happy and oh smelling so good, its amazing how it warms my presence, and is passed on to those around me! All of the above, a bon point!
