Black Guava

First of all, this is potent, God damn. Especially compared to what I am used to smelling from BTSO. The beginning of this fragrance starts off with a juicy and sweet guava that almost reminds me of sweet blackcurrants. (Mind you, I am Scandinavian, and not really used to guava or anything guava scented, so take my words with a pinch of salt). I almost get a black fruit tea vibe, because the initial blast of this is so warm and comforting. Everything feels so well blended together, and the cardamom is making this almost vibrating, but still warm, feeling. Like your cup of tea is so hot that it’s close to boiling and stirring around in your thick ceramic mug. In the drydown the oud gets more prominent, though it is still very well blended. I am usually one that is no fond of oud, but it is actually quite pretty here. Sweet and mystic, and shows another grounded side of herself in companion with a flirty fruitchouli. I mentioned that I didn’t expect this from BTSO, mostly because I am used to their scents being ‘provocative’ and ‘sexual’. But this is so sweet, and sensual in an almost carefree way. A girl that is unaware of her own attractiveness. Wearing dark brown lipstick on a rainy autumn day whilst listening to grey, green, brown grunge music with large headphones. The niche caliber of this one is magnificent, and the fact that this one last forever is a bonus point that really makes me want to put it right on my wish list. Maybe this autumn actually. It feels so unique but still so familiar in a way that you really can’t grasp. Really worth trying out if you have the opportunity.

My favourite from the Extrait Extreme collection and my favourite new release overall!! Following the rising fruity-oud trend, this one is bound to take a significant place in this niche. The opening is simply stunning—juicy, overly ripe, tart guava. Mouthwatering, photorealistic, and beautifully blended with the rest of the notes, which don't overshadow but instead amplify its vibrancy. The guava takes its time to settle (not that I mind—I can’t get enough of it), leading into a rich, sophisticated “black” base. But don’t let the name mislead you; this isn’t a deep, dark fragrance. Instead, it unfolds into a refined ambery, woody, and earthy drydown, with the fruitiness still lingering in the background. Love the peony in this composition, I’ve grown to love peony thanks to BTSO! Black Guava is a perfect creation—flirty, bold, intriguing, and incredibly versatile. Perfect for someone with an adventurous spirit, a dreamer at heart, yet grounded with a touch of classic elegance. Unisex, powerful, and undeniably long-lasting.

Absolutely nuclear performance from this, something that’s inherently indicative of BTSO’s Extrait Extreme line. This scent is so strong, it opens up with a sticky, sweet and dark synthetic guava smell, kind of candy like. When I say synthetic, it’s not headache inducing in my opinion but keep it mind it is quite strong. Over time, it settles and has some minty accords come through, which makes it well balanced enough in my opinion to not make the guava note overbearing as it literally sticks with you all day. I accidentally got some sprayed onto my hoodie when I applied it and after going through the a wash, I could still smell the fragrance on my hoodie! This thing is no joke, it sticks to anything you spray it onto, so just a note of caution. Overall, it’s an 8/10 for me, love this scent! I’ve finished my sample and I’m struggling to not impulse buy the full bottle right now.

I've been doing this perfume hobby for 13 years now and at this point, it is difficult to be very impressed by a new release, but this--OMG. Black Guava by BORNTOSTANDOUT is my new drug. Everything about it is perfect. The guava note is loud and clear throughout the entire wear, which is all day and night and the next day. The woody base is so elegant and perfectly balances the bright, juicy guava. There is something about the oud/base that smells nostalgic, even familiar, but I don't have anything like this in my collection. The floral notes are very subtle and blended to perfection. I heard comparisons to Erba Pura, and the notes are completely different--no melon, no loud musk in the base--but, the structure of BG has some similarities. Basically, it is loud everlasting fruit balanced by a dark base. This smells expensive--worth the price and I hardly ever say that. 5/5!!!

Black Guava from BTSO is an avant-garde fragrance perfumed by Suzy Le Helley. This is the funkiest and most complex of the four initial fragrances launched in the Extrait Extrême collection. The combo of Guava and oud is daring. My wife said it could make her vomit, so to say it's polarizing would be an understatement. The fragrance dials down a bit throughout the wear as floral notes emerge. It might be received as the least wearable but it is also tied for my favorite with purple stain from the original four in the Extrait Extrême collection. You gotta get your nose on this if you love the funk like I do.

I bought this blind bought this perfume as my first ever niche perfume - a bold choice I know. I absolutely adore it. It is aptly named, it smells like a guava that is black. The guava is realistic, forefront and juicy, and the smokiness of the oud is the perfect companion to challenge the sticky sweetness. I like my perfumes strong, and strong lasting and personally find this extremely wearable, I will wear it for any occasion. Personally I think this is a unisex fragrance, the sweet tropical scent of the guava could lean towards feminine but the oud and woodiness pushes back, and I (male) love it.

This is a lighter and sweeeter Oud Maracuja but instead of Maracuja, it is met with guava. This is oud maracuja but more playful and much cooler sister.. The sweetness is almost honey-like which is a characteristic of guava. The fruitiness does overpower the oud but the oud is there to make the guava less screechy unlike Oud Maracuja. I feel like this would be a good summer night scent! it has a hookah like feel to this imo but I would rock this everyday!

This is amazing. A much much much better version of Oud Maracuja but also with differences. Its more tangy and tart than OM and therefore more natural smelling and not as synthetic. The addition of rose also makes it so beautiful. Almost like a candied floral Oud. And this stuff is BEASTLY too. 2 sprays and you’re good for the entire day! I give it an 8.5/10

Bought this, sprayed my shirt 2 times - after three weeks, the shirt still smells like zesty and thick sweet guava. I wore it outside for a trip to the town, my friends said they needed to walk in front of me so they wouldn't be blasted from the scents trail in the wind... It is VERY potent, but it has its use cases, they are just far in between.

This is not a blind buy. But, this perfume is also phenomenal. The longevity is incredible and even more is the fact that the guava and oud go hand in hand from beginning to end without losing any power. It blew my mind. The rose and Peony make a short appearance to enhance even more the juiciness of the guava. Definitely a perfume to stand out.

Amazing guava scent that opens up strong as hell with that rich guava note that doesn't smell fake. It can be a bit off smelling because of the leathery oud, but the guava overpowers it. Someone in here said that it's in the middle of being intoxicating and headache inducing and I totally see that because of the strenght of the juice.

gorgeous combination of earthy, woody and fresh fruity notes. at first u get the guava and its loud. picture a red smoothie. tangy fruits. then the oud creeps in, along with the amber, making it warm and muddy. my favorite I tried from this brand. probably wouldn't wear it in summer but every other season would be appropriate

This stuff is nuclear absolutely love this whole line extrait de extreme you have to let it settle for around 20-30 min then it’s just amazing just don’t sniff it straight after spraying I had so many compliments every time I wear this and black mango and also black creme it smells different in the air leave huge scent trail

Sea-salt dried on your skin, beads of sweat from the heat as you lie in the shade of trees on a beach all while eating bruised guava with your bare hands and its juices drip down. Sticky, Hot & Fruity. I'm in love.

Realistic Guava scent, but, Not exactly long lasting as many describes it to be, A good scent, but losses its projection after 1hr.

Thank god it wasn’t that kind of extrait! I was fully braced for syrup, something thick and sugary and shrill, lacquered with too much labdanum or vanilla smoke. But no. This is ripe without rotting. Intense but breathable. The guava opens bright and lush and a little obscene, somewhere between a lovely tenderness and tropical overripe. A velvety pink guava, borderline photorealistic, almost pulpy in texture, but rendered with such restraint it feels polished, not pulp fiction. Behind it is a wash of musky florals like a warm peony, or maybe a solar lily diffused, a little gauzy. It's more an enhancer, starring galaxolide and those clean, airy-musky finishers that make a fruit note feel like it’s glowing from within. The “black” also doesn’t refer to shadowy depth, not dark in that gothic, resin-and-leather sense. It’s black like ink on silk. Subtle, sophisticated, more about form than force. The woods are quiet. A little amber hum, an earthy plushness, a soft rose made skinlike and breath-warm with musk. Not syrup. Not drama. Just really good perfumery. And even though it’s extrait, it doesn’t shout. It hums. Clings in that clingy, addictive way like something slightly sticky in the air. Like I’d been side-eyeing this line for being too much, but Black Guava is exactly the opposite. It’s control. Fruity, yes. But grown. A balance of intensity and elegance that I rarely associate with guava.

black guava took me by surprise. at first, i didn’t like it. the opening hit me a little too hard with the guava and spice feeling too intense. but then, about ten minutes later, something clicked. as the top settles, the guava softens, becoming very tropical, but not in a beachy, sunscreen kind of way. the mandarin and cardamom calm down, and suddenly the scent feels intentional rather than chaotic. that’s when the heart comes in with smoky oud folding into rose, peony, and geranium. the florals don’t sweeten it; they smooth it, giving the fruit a sensual, almost humid softness, like skin warmed by the sun after rain. from there, it just keeps getting better. the base is deep, earthy, and unapologetically bold. patchouli and cypriol bring grit and shadow, while amber melts into the skin. this is where black guava earns its confidence. it’s not polite, not subtle, and not trying to be liked by everyone. the kind of scent that grows more addictive the longer you wear it. black guava feels like a slow seduction... think sticky air, bare skin, low lights. it lasts forever, projects like a warning, and leaves a trail that turns heads whether you want it to or not. this is for someone who doesn’t need instant gratification from their perfume. if you’re willing to give it ten minutes and some patience, black guava rewards you with something bold and intoxicating.

I got the development sample - Liquid Sin - which supposedly was the original name for this fragrance. Not sure if they have made any change beside the name but here's my impression based on the development sample: The first thought that popped into my mind: "Maison Crivelli extrait line." Not only because of the nuclear strength of this scent but there's something in the DNA that reminds me of them. Upon closer inspection, I think this is like the lovechild of Hibiscus Mahajad & Oud Maracuja. Throughout the opening and dry down, all I can smell is guava. Mind you, not the fresh kind but Guava absolute - a concoction of thousands of guava condensed into one drop of liquid. Therefore, it's not sweet per se but the fruity note is so concentrated, it straddles the line between being intoxicating and headache inducing. It's really hard to detect any other note, even oud. Not gonna lie, this is just a like not a love because I was expecting a fresher, dewier, juicier profile. Due to its strength, it appears almost powdery and dry. One thing that I want to note is they don't joke about this being 65% oil, never have I ever had to buff perfume (which was a thin layer of sticky oil) into my skin. DON'T even try to spray on your clothes, this will ruin it.

To my nose one of the more balanced of the super concentrated BTSO lineup. It has some similarities to Black Mango, but less artificial fruit bomb. Not sure if it directly translates to a realistic guava to me, but it is somewhat balanced with oud and floral elements, it’s slightly less in your face compared to Black Mango. Super longevity is no surprise. If I was to pick one it would be this over Black Mango. This is interesting, but I’m sure I am not alone in being a little bored with the trend of heavy extraits and increasing the oil content. Not only are they steeply priced, but they come off a bit blunt - often thick, dense and less nuanced.

I'm a sucker for anything guava so I really like this. my only issue is that there's a weird note I'm not *loving*. I don't know how to describe it, it's just a little .. stinky? sweaty? maybe that's what folks are talking about saying it smells a bit rotten or like B.O. either way it's dark & moody and reminds me of a brick of guava paste (iykyk). very much enjoy it and I'd still wear it! very very strong too, but cooled down after ~4 hours for me.
