Drunk Lovers

I’m going to wait to write my full review, but I wanted to give my initial thoughts until I have my full bottle... Wow! This is an absolutely beautiful unique fragrance. I’m going to wait to call this a masterpiece until I can test the sillage and longevity, but it’s on the verge of being a signature scent. I absolutely hate overly feminine or masculine fragrances - there’s something so off putting about overly gendered fragrance. Unisex fragrances have my heart and I’m always on the search. Drunk Lovers from BTSO, a South Korean fragrance house, is exactly in the center on the spectrum. Super androgynous and sexy. Something you’d smell at the bar and be like... “Is that a man or a woman wearing that because I want to take them both home?!” I found this fragrance on TikTok from a video called “Hoochie Daddy Fragrances” from Sniff with Steph. She described this perfectly - imagine a really sexy man and a really sexy woman leaving a classy cocktail lounge and fooling around on the couch. There’s something feminine and masculine blended with cognac and bad decisions from a night out that makes this so sexy. This is pure drunken androgyny.

I ordered a few samples from this line, Drunk Lovers being one of them. This on a man would make me press myself into him and softly glide my nose around on his skin to find the source. It opens masculine but not so much so a woman couldn't wear this. It starts to turn into something that would make me want the wearer to wrap their arms around me and press their warmth down on me. I would wear it but the opening is more masculine leaning than I am looking for in a fragrance. I know scents behave different on everyone and this is how the DL developed on my skin. I would spray it on myself while I'm wearing just one of his shirts around because he is out of town and I'm missing him and yearning for him. Sigh. I see comparisons to Polo and other inoffensive, easy, pleasing male fragrances but to my nose it is deeper (not in a dark way) and more complex and has a sensual element to it. It's a love for me although not a love on me.

First Impression - Spicebomb Infrared EDT + Ultra Male with pieces of Polo Red minus the coffee and a heavy dose of vanilla. It's insanely good. I don't have any clue why people are saying SWY and Althair, this is not that. It's incredible though, like 10/10 for my style. It's a sweet red fruit cranberry cotton candy-ish top with a resinous, spicy and very faint pale woods background, as well as all that vanilla. Very mass appealing but unique. Definitely check this out if you like Infrared, Ultra Male, Born in Roma Coral Fantasy, Polo Red and vanilla style frags. unisex but leans a bit masculine. More Fall/Winter but wouldn't be super offensive in warmer weather. overall-very sweet & spicy cranberry cotton candy with a warm vanilla-y background

This fragrance is simply amazing! I am never complimented at work about my perfumes, but I wore this to work for the first time today and my co-worker was like, "what is that great smell?" I told her that I hoped it was me. She loved it! To be honest, it starts off a little masculine, but it quickly dries down to something fruity to my nose. It's one of those scents that I can't stop smelling my wrist. I can't recommend it enough. I see the comparisons listed and I don't disagree with any of them, but I added Donna Karan Cashmere & Palo Santo. It has this woody fruitiness that reminds me of it. This would be a year-round fragrance in my mind.

Finally tested BTSO for the first time. I never knew sephora had it. I immediately went to indecent cherry because i always wanted to smell it and honestly ...i was so disappointed, idk why i had high expectations for it i thought it would be similar to lost cherry but i was hella wrong. Anyways i smelled drunk lovers and i was IMPRESSED. Its so sexyyyyy. I tested it on my skin and Ive been sniffing my arms throughout the mall like a tweaker. On me It’s very vanilla-ish but it’s a grown up kind of vanilla. It’s very sophisticated and sexy. I can see myself layering it with a more dark patchouli based perfume on a winter night.

Black Phantom by Kilian’s goody two-shoes cousin. In all seriousness, though, BTSO is the first perfume creator I’ve found that really takes you on a journey from beginning to end. The transformative qualities of their scents and how well they shift from top to middle to base note is incredible. I purchased a sample of Drunk Lovers, wasn’t amazed by it, and then came back to it after several months and felt completely different about it. It’s just feminine enough for me to wear comfortably but has all of those great masculine notes—booze, earth, wood, musk. I’m happy I gave it another shot.

I debated between this and Initio Side Effect, bought Side Effect then had to return it as the bottle was leaking out of the atomizer. I also found Side Effect top heavy on the cardamom (almost curry-esque). So I took it as a sign that Drunk Lovers was the way to go. I’m glad fate pointed me in this direction! It’s along the lines of PDM Meliora mixed with something rum-my or cognac-y but clean and put together and “neat”. It could be boozier but overall, it’s gorgeous. The dry down is mostly sweet berries and a touch of vanilla. Definitely a great purchase.

It’s phenomenal smells incredible on clothes and skin... if ur looking for this type of date night dna you could always go the tempo or amythest route as it’s much cheaper and much more nuclear, with that being said tho this is a masterpiece. If you can find a 1.7 for 160 or cheaper this a must have in your collection. It’s extremely seductive and smells almost like a rum filled cake. It’s better for going out and date nights than a daily wear as it’s strong but it doesn’t radiate like other fragrances in this dna.

This is am amazing fragrance. I will not try to describe what i smell as it is to each nose different, but i will tell you it smells so good, unique and sexy. To me this is perfect date night, evening fragrance. Performance wise, it is not beast mode, not even close. Project closer to skin, so it is not a room-filler but it does not need to be. People closer to you will smell it, that is why to me it is date-night, night-out and also because how sexy it smells. All in all perfect fragrance. It is a 10 for me.

This is possibly the nicest scent on my skin ever, I can smell this for daysss on me. On me it smells somewhat coconuty, which I haven’t seen in the notes. Less cognacy more a spiced, coconut carribian rum. I adore this though, it’s perfectly unisex, while it smells fun, girly and flirty on me, if I ever smelt this on a hot guy in a club I’d be jumping his bones. Smelled it once in a shop and bought it a few days later, as soon as it runs out I’m repurchasing. Best smell I ever did smelt.

Smells like Lord of Misrule by Lush. Everyone seems to say that Nishane Ani is the fancy version of LoMr, but I swear this is it. It's lovely. I need a full bottle right now! It's so deep, mature, not something I'd wear to work, but I will still do that anyways. It dries down pretty masculine on me, but I love it so much. The patchouli note isn't for everyone, my mum hates it, but my dad loves it. I am, however, a sucker for vanilla + patchouli + pepper perfumes so a little biased !

The initial top notes are super sexy. Sweet and a little spicy with a rich full-bodied depth that is kept from being too heavy by the citrus notes (without the citrus notes being prominent). I could not stop smelling my arm and when my husband tested it I kept grabbing his arm and inhaling it in. The dry down is a very wearable musky, not too sweet and not too dry fragrance that could be worn at any time of day. A little boring in the dry down but still really nice.

As the name says, this is romantic. You could use this with your partner while drinking some beers or cocktails, lol. Besides that, this is well blended, sweet and boozy. I’ve tried a lot of borntostandout fragrances and this is one of my favorites. It’s completely different but at the same time mass appealing. Performance is normal, not bad but not that all day projection. This works more as a date fragance. Price is high but discounters is great choice.

fantastic fragrance. drunk lovers is extremely smooth despite all the notes. i’m in love with boozy fragrances and this has the perfect amount of booze. warm but light as well. this isn’t just a fall/winter fragrance either, i get a summer’s night out vibe from this too, or even a date night vibe. glad to know this isn’t one that is overly popular as well, so chances are you wouldn’t smell it on somebody else outside unless they know serious ball.

It’s like having a boozy cream soda (cognac, vanilla, wood, berries) and there’s almost an aftershave vibe, as if there’s a well-dressed man with bare-minimum hygiene chatting you up. As it dries down, you start kissing that man, getting up close and personal. Your drink’s still there, but you can smell his skin and it’s initially...unpleasant, but it starts to grow on you. I’m asexual. I like the idea but may this never find me ✌️

Delicious opening of cognac, juicy berries and citrus, This soon dries down into a sweet creamy sandalwood supported by light vanilla and patchouli, has an "airy" quality to it. Great winter/fall or date night scent, nothing challenging so relatively safe blind buy, longevity on my skin is around 5-6 hours and on clothes is until you wash them, sillage is good. Personally love this scent and is in my top 5 from BTSO. 8/10

I wouldn't consider this gourmand but this is delicious! A new favorite in the collection. Beautifully blended. It reminds me of something else in my collection but I can't put my finger on it. It's amazing. I see some said it reminds them of side effect.....I do not get that at all. I love side effect as well and they are not close. Both great but this is the new kid in my collection. Love it

Best way to describe this fragrance in the opening is if you took the YSL L'Homme DNA + Angel's Share sweetness + Maison Margiela Jazz Club scent profile and combined them all together. After two hours on skin, remove the YSL dna, and you're left with a GORGEOUS Stronger With You/Jazz Club type scent. Absolutely adore this scent.

BORNTOSTANDOUT is making waves in the niche fragrance realm. Drunk Lovers is an attention grabbing scent by Hamid Merati-Kashani. This man is creating straight heat. Drunk Lovers is a boozy, red berry fragrance that is an indulgence of aroma that will make an impression on those around you. Alluring and addictive.

Drunk Lovers was an instant love for me. A boozy woody scent with warm spices and a bright citrussy opening. It doesn't always work out this way but in this case a combination of gorgeous notes give way to a gorgeous smelling fragrance. Perfect for Autumn, although the longevity doesn't seem to be the best.

Oh BABY! THIS is what good sex smells like. Sensual, spicy, steamy, intense, tender, and attentive. It develops into this beautiful, sexy, almost second skin scent. The cognac note really stands out here, and I want to layer this absolutely everything in my collection. YES YES YES!

Wow! I tested this on a whim, fully expecting to be unimpressed. But this is a complex, juicy, intoxicating fragrance I have to have in my life. This is one of those scents that becomes addictive, and I keep sniffing just to comfort myself. This one is a keeper.

This is great. Leans way more in Althair space than SWY and even if they are vaguely similar, this is much higher quality, imo, and smells much better and more refined than that entire line does. Like a boozy, fruity version of Althair. 8.5/10

I think I've fallen in love with boozy perfumes. Drunk Lovers, to me, is like a younger sister of Jazz Club. She's drunk, she's sexy, she's exciting. And yet so cozy - every time I wear it, it feels like a warm hug. Can't get enough of her!

Gorgeous opening of cognac, berries & citrus. Dries down to a creamy, lightly peppery sandalwood. On clothes i get more of the berries but on skin it dries down quite quickly to sandalwood. Lovely scent though.

This just smells so complex, it's hard to describe how it smells but it is kind of the same as side effect, but in my opinion much better because this is much more like lighter because of the berry note 10/10

Just got this and wow what a beautiful scent. A smooth berry note and you can feel slight powdery sweetness behind which adds so much depth on the dry down. Would hands down recommend 10/10

This I like, it reminds me a little bit of Polo Perfume and some other designers, but this have more depth to it. Leaning more to male than female and this could be worn all year.

It smells like being in touch with your femininity as a man, not being scared of it one bit. Definitely not a "fem guy" smell but a very attractive "man who knows himself" smell.

This is one of my favourite scents - so warm and spicy but woodsy, sweet and powdery soft all at the same time. It is ALWAYS sold out though!

Smells nice but could easily pass as an Invictus or SWY flanker. Nothing groundbreaking nor super interesting for the price. 6/10

This overall is a beast mode fragrance and it has really good projection, this is going to be my next pick up 🤩🤩🤩

Immediate serotonin boost from this one, especially with this brand's danker concepts. It opens this proper burst of currant pulp and bittersweet pink grapefruit, the kind that sings on skin. Half juicy in a naive way, half in that cocktail-bar-at-3am way. Fruit soaked in memory and gin. Like sparkling syrup in a cup of cloudy ginger ale, left out to ferment a tad. The fruits, tart and glistening, melt slowly slow pour of cream soda, but darker. The woods creep in: cypress, pine, the bitterness of bark. It's green with that resinous wax of cold tree limbs, green with the dry masculinity of a lumber aisle. Juniper bites herby, camphorous, crisp like gin straight from the freezer with sage adding texture. Warm spice glows from beneath to give the vanilla a pulse that lasts all the way until the finale. No doubt the evolution is good: sweet without being cloying, masculine without collapse. But definitely know that the final act leans more into the shaving-cream register, something I wouldn't really go for. Had it stuck with the opening? Yeowch, my wallet. Still! What a rush. One of BTSO’s sexiest, easily. TLDR bright red current having a fling with moody gin in a pine cabin

Got a sample of this with my purchase of Mad Honey and I really like it. It's a very pleasant and overall likeable scent but it does remind me of something I've had in the past. To me this smells like the drydown of Layton but frutier due to the red berries and lemon I imagine. It's made by the same perfumer, surprised others don't seem to think they smell similar. Wife wishes I would have got a full bottle of this over Mad Honey, very solid fragrance that I'd consider getting a bottle if I can find it on sale. A bit pricey and only available in 50 ml. I'm starting to like the brand but I do wish they had better quality lids on their bottles. Any way, really good scent but not a standout in my collection. Update: Ended up buying a full bottle, now that I've had a chance to wear it more I really do like it. I've since purchased Layton and they do smell similar to me but not as much as I remember. This smells like Laytons drydown but with a bag of skittles added. It's pretty sweet but I get 0 boozyness sadly. Easy to wear for either gender, nice work BTSO but fix your damn caps!

Does anyone know a fragrance that smells like the OPENING of this ?! Pls message me! I love how this smells for the first couple seconds/ minutes that it's on skin, and how it smells on paper (tester strip). It changes on skin however quite quickly into something else, too sweet and sugary for me and lacking the magic of that opening! The opening does smell pretty sexy and those listed notes of Cognac, Red berries, and Citruses seem pretty accurate to me - it also has this wonderful airy quality. I know there's a dupe by Arabiyat Prestige called Mahd Al Dhahab, but from the reviews it sounds like it changes in the dry down the same way. I'd prefer if you could give me any recommendations from having smelt the fragrance on skin and knowing it smells like the opening of Drunk Lovers the whole way through !!! But any recommendations that you think could be similar/ suggestions welcome :))

Sampling Borntostandout Drunk Lovers, led primarily by cognac, cinnamon, and red berries, a bit of a sweet, boozy, spicy blend that starts out more sugary and sharp and dries down a bit smoother and darker, the opening being a little less pleasant than the dry down but still pretty nice. It does not make a huge impression on me when comparing it to other boozy fragrances. Overall, I like it, but its use of cognac is similar enough to By Kilian Angels’ Share in that I feel like I’ve smelled it before and am not too moved by it, though it is, of course, less expensive than Angels’ Share. As with the rest of the line, this is priced at $290/210/85 for 100/50/15ml, not cheap but not untenable in the current market, and is sold in US boutiques like Ministry of Scent and Luckyscent. 7 out of 10

Although I’ve smelled this kind of scent profile before and I can’t say it’s the one that stands out the most, it still caught my attention. To be honest, I’ve always avoided this house, even when sampling in stores. I thought their creations were too strange, too particular, and definitely not the kind of scents you’d call easy, likeable, or even pleasant. But damn, they’re different. And that’s the point! They make me feel something beyond indifference. Along the way, I’ve discovered a few I genuinely enjoy, and now I want to expect the unexpected from them. If you’re like I was, hesitant and maybe even worried your nostrils might get hurt, give them a chance. They might just surprise you too.

The opening is softly sweet, in a calm and pleasant way. After drying, the sweetness fades to something fruity and woody. It's perfect for spring and summer nights, especially on a date. I really want to like heavy woody fragrances but something about them, and the base notes in this scent specifically, leaves me with a slight headache, and for that reason only I don't think I would be purchasing this for myself - however, I very much enjoyed the experience of having it on while I could. For those who are looking for something sweet but not too heavy into woody gourmand scents, this would be a good scent to try out.

Aptly named "Drunk Lovers", this is a sumptuously sweet and boozy fragrance, balanced out with aromatics like juniper and sage, plus some nice spices and a touch of vanilla. On my skin, the combination of cognac and berry is very prominent. Pretty strong in terms of sillage, so definitely more of a going out/date night fragrance. I do like this on myself a lot and could see other women rocking it, but I would go especially feral for this on a man.

Pleasantly surprised!!!! I’m kinda obsessed with its warmth and complexity. It’s a warm dry wood with slight greenness that is airy without being camphorous. It’s so sexy it’s so New York and on a feminine woman it’s like a pleasant surprise if you leaned and and smelled this and on a masculine woman it’s bold and befitting. So conflicted because I’m no buy right now !!!

I like the sweet intro, it has nice boozy notes that don't overwhelm the red fruit. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the spice I expected from a perfume with ginger, pepper, cinnamon, and vetiver in it. Also, it was very hard to smell on my hand. I'll give it another try in the future, hopefully applying a little more will help.

Considering the scent profile and notes I'd expect this to be a pretty heavy spiced scent, but it isn't. In the bottle it smells really sexy and fresh, almost crowdpleaser leaning, but with a sweet warmth to it, giving it a creativity and allure that you just won't get from pure men's colognes. I need a sample of this.

Smells like getting in a car after a date. Strangely reminds me of Aqua Di Gio mixed with red wine. I’m not obsessed with it. Not many appropriate settings outside of a cheeky 3rd date.

It’s one of those fragrances that takes a minute to understand. It’s spicy, warm, boozy and a little sweet. It pulls a bit masculine but it’s wearable for any gender.

I liked this a lot. To me it leaned more masculine but I also think anyone could easily wear this and it was a very enjoyable all around scent.

I find this one very basic like u can find it in any perfumery

#58 of My Fragrance Journey - BORNTOSTANDOUT Drunk Lovers - A Nice Night Out, Not a Messy One I really wanted to love this. I mean... Drunk Lovers. That name promises chaos. Spilt drinks, bad decisions, hands everywhere. I was ready. But honestly? This is not that night. The opening comes in loud and sweet, and for a brief moment, I think, okay, here we go. There’s a glossy hit of candied red berries and sugar-dusted citrus peel. It suggests booze, but never quite commits. More tipsy theatre than genuine intoxication. Fun, flirty, but already a little too controlled. And then - fast. Like, fifteen minutes fast - the “drunk” part quietly excuses itself. What’s left is a sweet ginger heart that feels clean, smooth, and very easy to like. Almost... designer-adjacent. And that’s where I hesitate, because for a brand called BORNTOSTANDOUT, this feels surprisingly happy to play it safe. The dry-down is where it finally settles into itself. Warm amber wrapped in vanilla, cardamom, and cinnamon. Soft, cosy, undeniably attractive. It sits close to the skin after a while, lingering for about six to eight hours, but mostly as a personal aura rather than a statement. The projection starts off confident, then fades into something intimate and polite. And look - it smells good. Really good. No one is going to complain about this to you. It’s perfect for an autumn or winter evening when you want to be approachable, quietly sexy, and easy to be around. But at this price point, I’m usually expecting either boldness or originality. Here, I get refinement... and familiarity. So yeah. Drunk Lovers is a solid 3.5/5 for me. Enjoyable. Well-blended. Comfortably seductive. Just don’t expect a wild party.
