Fig Porn

Practically speaking Fig Porn is a fine fragrance. It is unique enough, it is potent enough, it is dynamic enough. At the price point though you start to consider alternatives. Figue by Molinard, Z Zegna Milan or even Philosykos by Diptique would be cheaper and fulfill all the same desired roles. However, fragrance isn’t a practical thing in all reality. Art isn’t utilitarian. It is the company of poetry, plays, and symphonies that fragrance finds its peers. In a way that is not easily measured, or even tangible Fig Porn got me. It drew forth my breath and begged me to speak its name to all that would listen, The fig, vanilla, and amber take the lead for almost the entirety of the fragrance’s life on my skin. The quick bursts of bergamot and pear are volatile and vanish as quickly as they arrive. The Peony and Musk do so much to keep this from being a pure gourmand. Instead, I see Fig Porn as the last two bites of your friend’s desert at a table they have walked away from. They didn’t say they were finished; they didn’t say they weren’t coming back, and you already had one of your own. The glistening morsels cast coy looks in your direction and you turn your fork over in your fingers as you sip your espresso. They won’t miss it and besides if you don’t eat it, the waiter might just take it away. Nobody wants that. So do it. Take the forbidden, take the half-used, take what begs to be savored. Take it and make it yours. Let the others speak of what is practical.

Got this for my partner, but when it arrived I decided to spray a single spray on myself for fun before I hit the gym. And I must say, I was blown away by the performance. Just one spray on my shirt, and I was smelling this before, during, and long after my workout. Which is impressive, because normally my sweat obliterates any fragrance I might put on pre-workout. As far as smell goes - surprisingly unisex despite the branding. I was reminded of the creamy figginess of BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. Now, would I wear this on myself? Probably not, it's a little too creamy and sweet for my taste. But could I? Yes absolutely. It's a comforting and sensual smell, which also has a little bit of a rebel edge (possibly more from the name and its connotations than from the actual fragrance, but perception is a malleable thing). It's a bit expensive for a 50ml (basically you're paying what it would normally cost to get a 100ml, for a 50ml bottle), but the presentation is lovely if you're someone who cares about that - quality packaging with fun branding, good weight and tactile attributes to the whole thing, and an attractive though decidedly female-coded (to me at least) bottle. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Creamy fig and rose milkshake That's exactly how this smells to me, opens with sweet fig enhanced by the texture of pear, Nothing like the fig found in something like Diptyques Phylosykos this is the sweet middle of the fig almost like a jam. Then you get creamy vanilla and rose and as it dries down the sandalwood gives it a light base to sit upon, Its a really nice gourmand fragrance that makes me feel cosy and soft. IMO it leans feminine but you could totally rock this as a man especially on a cool autumn day. Longevity and projection are insane, 8+ hours easily, stays on clothes until you wash them, seriously impressive. 7/10

I first sprayed it on a blotter in a perfume store and thought it was quite nice. I put the blotter in my pocket, then left it on a shelf in my bathroom when I got home. Since then, I’ve found myself constantly going back to smell it, and I like it more and more every time. It’s been four days now, and I can still smell it. I definitely need to test it on my skin, but if it performs there as well, I’m planning to buy a bottle. There’s something really special about the way it blends sweetness and creaminess—it's a combination I haven’t come across in any other fragrance.

Sex and a shower on a hot day. It’s fruity and sweaty at first and dries down floral, a little sweet, and somewhat clean. Like using your girlfriend’s fancy shower gels and soaps. I’ve been looking for a fig that didn’t smell too much like it was pulled right from the dirt, Fig Porn retains some of that element but feels playful with the pear. I do wish it was juicier; I’d like to layer it with JPG La Belle and see what happens. Hopefully I get folded like a lawn chair, as they say.

This perfume is so good. I havent tried many BTSO ones but they all have this full body scent. It's complex and has layers. This is signature scent. I love fig, already but this is exceptional. It lasts so long and I can smell it on myself all day long. Its sweet and a little floral at the end. I get the woody cedar and sandal wood but it's not sharp. A scent I can wear over and over and never get sick of. give me the full bottle NOW! good longevity

Fun, alluring, unisex but leans more feminine, cosmic, a bit of hippie, gorgeous. As a gemini, I think this matched very well with my energy, so try this plz, geminis!!! for me, there is nothing close to fig here, or I haven't smelled enough fig fragrances yet. very well blended, purple, witchy flowers, very iris-violet-orchid like. Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid vibes. Good projection and silliage. Good job!

This is so so so beautiful!!! The blast of fig and pear is so juicy in the beginning - one of the most elegant smelling fruit scents I have tried. The fragrance then turns into a very smooth fig - it is not green at all and the scent is so soft, sweet. I swear I smell a lot of the sandalwood, even more than the musk. One of their best!!!

Loved this, initially application smelt like fig, fresh apple core, and vanilla. Dry down vanilla and fig remained. Not strong enough though, although I could smell it on myself if I put my skin close to my nose 8 hours later, I want better longevity and silage for the price point.

Foreword—there will be a lot of comparisons because it is easier for me to operate this way. There are brands like ELDO that for better or worse have their crazy names matching what’s in the bottles and there are brands like BTSO and Kilian (one series they have in particular, I think you know which one I mean). They want to be quirky so so bad with their titles but since they rarely invoke any sentiment matching the name, they end up sounding like middle schoolers that discovered dick jokes and made them their whole personality. Fig porn is pretty much like a frag with similar profile and ambitions in name—Kilian’s Let’s settle this argument [blah-blah-blah]—is not sensual enough to warrant ‘porn’ in title. But it is also not as atrocious as some people paint it to be. Seriously, going through reviews for BTSOs feels like some people have personal vendetta against the brand. Where is this much uncalled vehemence even coming from? Figs can be different, like some reviewers rightfully noted. Fruity doesn’t mean it should be necessarily green like in Philosykos. Plenty have their figs pretty creamy and soft: mentioned Kilian (let’s abbreviate it to Adults), Le Labo’s Matcha 26, IA’s Yesterday’s Haze... There is some tart gimmick happening on the first spray, which I think are pear and bergamot. It sadly wafts away too quickly becoming pretty tame and linear after. So many powdery creamy components that I can’t quite get cedar in it and the florals are not distinct one from another either. Maybe because I don’t live in the States and have never experienced Windex(?), I don’t have any negative associations with the scent. Thankfully, since it seems to be the problem to a majority. It is not as good and interesting as the notes show it to be, it is just a creamy vanilla fig essentially. But it is also not the worst. It is similar to Adults in many ways, only Adults performs much worse. Fig porn has solid sillage and somewhat moderate longevity. Something BTSO is good at, honestly. Not great, not terrible. Not the best BTSO scent tho.

This fragrance is making me question things about myself. The opening keeps surprising me. I'm getting whiffs of my grandparents mid-century modern home: Dots brand gum drops and some kind of soapy almost windex-y cleaning solution. Then it twists into another nostalgic mood. I can't quite place it but I think it may be Victoria's Secret “Tease” or "Noir Tease" body spray, which had a tinge of "this is sexy but i definitely bought this at the mall" type vibe but in a way that's now... dare I say camp? Y2k revival? Who's that hottie with the Motorola sidekick standing by the fountain? Anyways, the thing that keeps throwing me off is I don't like these notes. In theory. I'm not into fruity and the notes strike me as artificial, plasticky. excess. but god I keep leaning in to smell it again. I would love nothing more than to smell this on Christine Quinn's neck as she leans in close to me over lunch and mimosas to whisper about how she thinks one of the agency girls is only marrying for publicity. Eventually, after about an hour and a half, it turns into Figue by Molinard, which is pleasant, earthy, sweet, subdued. I can't decide where I ultimately land on this fragrance. The opening feels like the most unique part but that is only, by definition, the opening and that portion of the scent profile doesn't necessarily carry throughout the day. In terms of what does stick around, I think you could get a comparable scent with the same projection and longevity at a more affordable price point. It is delicious and it is sometimes pornographic, albeit in a fleeting, ephemeral way.

The opening is sweet and fruity with a floral hint, very cheerful but also quite intense. If you’re sensitive to gourmand or fruity sweetness, this can feel sharp and a bit artificial. I personally expected a greener fig profile, and that expectation definitely affects how this comes across. The fig and fruitiness don’t last very long, and the opening can be overwhelming if applied generously. As it develops, it quickly moves into a creamy, vanilla-forward drydown that firmly places this in gourmand territory. Despite the provocative name, there’s nothing particularly sensual or “pornographic” about it; if anything, it feels youthful and leans toward a younger audience. Longevity is good, but mostly thanks to the creamy gourmand base rather than the fig or fruity notes, which fade relatively fast. If you’re looking for a fig scent, this may feel misleading, but if you enjoy sweet, creamy gourmands, it might be worth trying.

very fresh and leafy! i honestly get more of the pear note than the fig note, but they combine really beautifully. it smells a litle like a cleaning product though but not in a bad way, but i also wouldnt describe it as erotic or pornographic. its a bit too clinical for that, but it is very beautifully sweet and i love the use of pear and fig cause i dont see those notes used very often! however i would summarise it in the quote 'everyone is sexy and no one is erotic'. its beautiful and all but it feels too afraid to be less than beautiful to be EROTIC and embody the uninhibited aspects of sex. maybe thats why they call it porn. inherently performative, simulation of fucking rather than showing the nitty gritty, ugly eroticism of sex. STILL VERY BEAUTIFUL TO WEAR HOWEVER, just falls a little flat on the premise.

Sampling Borntostandout Fig Porn, a fresh, sweet, green, fig-lend blend that also includes woods, florals, and vanilla. It’s fittingly brighter in the opening but dries down to be a bit of a darker, sweeter gourmand, and I rather prefer the opening since it’s the brighter, greener side of fig that I intend to enjoy in fragrances (Dior Balade Sauvage, for example) but this is still enjoyable throughout, quite pleasant, a playful intersection of notes that’s easy to wear and not nearly as provocative as its name may suggest. As with the rest of the line, it’s EDP concentration and priced at $210/85 for 50/15ml, available through US boutiques like Ministry of Scent, which carries the full line. I think this performs quite well, also. 7 out of 10

The first few times I tried this I thought the beginning smelt like window cleaner, light, fresh florals, but I couldn’t shake the thought of having poured that blue window cleaning liquid all over myself... Now I don’t really get that any longer, but I have realized that it is the pear that smells a bit synthetic mixed with the cedar note. After four hours on my skin this smells really signature worthy, and I can’t stop smelling my arm and inhale the creamy goodness. The drydown is sweet, musky, with a lot of vanilla. A warm fresh, vanilla. I wish this perfume was darker, dirtier and damper. I had high hopes for a sexual, controversial scent that would provoke, but it’s quite a nice people-pleasing one.

I believe that whoever wears Fig Porn is not interested in any other kind of porn, cus this is one of the most asexual scents I've ever smelled (a compliment for those who get it). It's clean and polished in a futuristic way. It's got swag, but it's incredibly sterile. You cannot just smell this from the bottle cus it will literally smell like cleaning products, you have to spray it on skin and wait for it to settle. I think it's a great fragrance for a whimsical person imprisoned in a corporate office. Floral, bright, slightly earthy but definitely not dirty.

honestly blown away by how long this lasted. this gives me the same vibe as zernell gillie’s house and maybe MLM icila, even though there aren’t a lot of shared notes between them. the vibe i get from all 3 is juicy red fruit sugary body spray. the rose and vanilla make this a deeper and sweeter fig than i normally gravitate towards - not green at all. even though i find the profile a tad generic i enjoyed smelling this throughout the day and it earns major points for longevity.

More floral than fig to my nose and on my skin up front. Definitely not green or leafy. No milky or jammy fruit. Lovely if a bit sweet and cloying. Nice rose note. A bit linear. Floral. Powdery. I don’t unfortunately find the complexity of the woody and amber / musky notes on dry down, just powdery sweet floral. Decent sillage and length. 4-5 hours. Not overly feminine. I’d wear it if it delivered the notes indicated.

I love a fig fragrance and had to try this. At first smell I was underwhelmed. It’s fine. I get some fig and can wear this but don’t love it. However 8 hours later I am getting a big soft vanilla dry down that is quite enjoyable and sexy. I wouldn’t think this is unisex any longer? I’m just overwhelmed by this base note! Interesting. I’d buy a decant but not a full bottle.

i get the opinions that it has a detergent-y opening, but for me its something v. soft, like cotton laundry drying outside, late spring. the dry down becomes warm and cozy, like a soft hug from a close person. insane longevity!! the scent in general is a safe, everyday perfume and has potential for a year- round wear.

I like this stuff! it smells like a very expensive womens shampoo. leans a lot more feminine. something about it, i think its the fig, gives it a creamy yogurt smell to it. sounds weird but it works very well. smells like what a stawberry yoplait yogurt tastes like lol. Good stuff either way!

a bright green fig leaf, slightly aquatic scent with volcanic stone that has been saltified by high tide. there is a sudziness to it. like a mermaid that has been washed up to shore. floral & light sea musk pressed into the skin. for a somnlent ocean siren vibe

milky fig and ripe pear. the scent is powdery and there's a clean quality to it. elegant and simple. the name "fig porn" is quite misleading (if we look at both definitions of the word porn)- there is neither any lewdness to this nor there is an excess of fig.

I actually really like it becuase usually fig perfumes lean very green to me but this felt and little bit more grounded with the vanilla and sandlewood in the base which i loved. Still not sure if i would wear it but i did enjoy this one.

I wish it was slightly dirtier and fully in the "smells like sex" category but it's a little too innocent for it- doesn't make it any less pretty but it's literally just that when I expected something intoxicating and almost offensive.

candied fig and jammy sweetness. i wear this on top of Jasmine & Fig solid perfume by Lvnea. Fig porn on its own i find on my skin doesn’t have too much longevity or complexity, but i love them together.

While the name is kinda cringe, it's pretty accurate, too. She's a sweet, juicy, slutty fig that is easy to enjoy. Very similar to Laurel Bath House’s e-Mochi!

I like this fig scent. It's not my favorite, it's definitely more warm than others I have smelled. It's very pleasant, not overpowering.

So I think I've previously said enough about this brand having only tried a handful, and not really being a fan of the marketing or aesthetic here, I'm trying to judge the perfumes themselves fairly, because the folks behind the brand have opted for an array of different perfumers and a shitload of bases to cover, so I guess fair enough. If the samples were a bit cheaper or the brand sent me them, obviously I would've sampled more and could give a better impression. I feel the brand has taken Tom Ford's 'let's have a few naughty/sweary names' approach and gone apeshit (not one of their names GONEAPESHIT haha) with it, but anyway. Fig Porn is a okay perfume I suppose and I get the fig accord here but it's overly sweet, too much ethyl maltol (which is actually essential in fig accords but used sparingly) and it just seems a little naïve and not really studying the fig which has much fresher aspects and stemone and such. I get that this is a sticky, dried fig or whatever...super sweet something I'd actually thought was lacking in fig perfumes but be careful what you wish for I guess? At least Figuer eden and Philosykos and Fig my love, etc...all very different examples of figs BTW, but one thing they have in common is that fresh and realistic feeling, sadly lacking in fig porn. I mean a disclaimer could be... READ THE NOTES!!! It's not supposed to be a fig perfume, There's loads of other shit in there, we flipped it. We subverted it. We're SO cool, you fucking idiot! I guess that's where this brand just starts to piss me off again with it's smartarsery and contempt for the customer. As I see it. (Sorry my contempt for the brand keeps rearing it's ugly head) So it's a fruity, densely packed opening reminding me of carmelised, fruity floral nothings of the desginer realm, like angel but without the earth. Fig porn does however dry down much better and much more appealing as a more lactonic aspect softens everything and it smells way more balanced and actually more figgy. So all in all not bad if you survive the opening assault of ethyl maltol which I perhaps hastily thought was clumsily dosed but becomes far more agreeable as the perfume wears on. Fig porn is okay by me.

I learned this Korean brand from a few fragrance reviewers i follow on Youtube and Instagram, and the aesthetics of the bottles indeed attracted my attention. Then my boyfriend happened to be in Seoul for work, so I asked him to get the discovery sets for me, which unfortunately turned out to be out of stock. I had to rely on my instinct and then made up mind based on the names and notes. Fig Porn is one of the bottles I asked him to buy. Before trying it, I was expecting something fruity and flower with seductive vibe as the name implies; however, it turned out to be completely different. It is a rather simple perfume, (overly) sweet and creamy, floral and slightly powdery. The opening is fruity and sweet, smells like fruit jam. It makes you feel sticky. Bergamot is not enough here to balance the sweetness and to add some freshness. Pear is detectable here, but instead of a juicy pear, it smells more like a candied pear. The amount of sweetness in the opening can be overwhelming to people who are not fan of sweet scents. As it develops, it gets more and more creamy and powdery. It smells more like body lotion to my nose. The drydown is ambery and sweet, warm but with a lot of vanilla. The sweetness is so overpowering that I cannot tell if I really get the creamy sandalwood in the drydown. Instead of seductive, it gives me more a candy shop vibe. It is definitely a feminine fragrance, or I would say a girly one. It lasts easily for a whole day on skin, and the performance is quite good. I strongly suggest testing before buying it, as I believe to a lot of people this one can be overly sweet, or even cloying.

Initial fresh green with tart green apple, while sweetness and strawberry sneak up behind - drying down to a sweet light berry with a hint of tartness on top and possibly some sweet floral mixed in. I get a bit of musk or powder underneath but it's mostly light feminine and sweet. Later it's more sweet floral musk with a hint of fruit. Falls into the category of spring floral dresses and mimosas brunch. For most of the day it reduced to a skin scent of welcoming sweet leaning muskiness, the sweetness being welcoming and pleasant. I'd say it opens feminine and moves towards more unisex as the day carries on. At times I feel I can pull this off, and at times I don't (my vibes don't necessarily fit the fragrance). I'm testing this whole house blind so I was a little surprised by the name, less so by the notes. Here's the thing, I was eating figs for lunch and didn't pick up any fig all day - it's more fruit than fruit specific. The name is not compliant! This is a relatively safe and pleasant fragrance. Nothing about it suggests porn, of any kind - soft, hard, or whatever your kink is. It's sunday brunch and picnic date friendly, so to me the name, branding and packaging here is all overstated (I'm only #4 into this house's 16 fragrances and was hoping for stuff more edgy than what I've experienced so far). Put it in a classy glass fig bottle and you're more inline with the output. Would definitely be considered as a gift given its longevity and happiness. Fig? I guess. Porn it is not!

Super green & super powdery fig. The opening is very synthetic...takes a minute to dry down into the scent. Initially, this is fairly soft and light while also being powdery. The sandalwood is there to back it up and give it some body. Bergamot lifts everything and musk ties it together for me. Definitely unisex. I didn’t get the rose at first but it comes out a bit into the wear with a tiny bit of cedar. Oddly the vanilla comes out at the end too and it seems out of place and also too sweet. Ends up as a powdery musky sweet pear scent. Unfortunately the synthetic feel doesn’t ever really go away and it’s a bit of an unbalanced mish-mash. So a pass for me... EDIT: out of the 4 very different scents I have tried from this brand...I pick up an underlying shared DNA ...I know, I know! nothing crazy here...just wondering if anyone else has noticed it. I have not been able to pinpoint what makes it up. Something that leans sweet and woody and super synthetic is what I notice. **ALSO the performance for this brand on me is stellar. Lasts forever with a large scent bubble. Unfortunately haven’t loved one yet.

Fig Porn had me expecting something decadent, dripping, maybe even a little filthy. Instead? A pear-fig smoothie with all the edges rounded off, blended into something inoffensively sweet and way too well-behaved. I'm not mad at it, but like.... So it starts off nectarous, juicy, almost too ripe, and before you can even settle into it, the whole thing evaporates into thin air, leaving behind that generic fruity-floral musk that seems to haunt every vaguely “sexy” perfume these days. And just when you think, hm, it’s over, it slinks back about an hour later, stickier, denser, honeyed, like it remembered it was supposed to have some presence. But even then, it’s all fruit, no depth. No creamy fig flesh, no green leaf snap, no woody stem, no velvety shadows. Just a spoonful of low-sugar fig jam, stripped of complexity, sitting on an all-too-clean, all-too-white plate. Nice? Sure. But for a scent called Fig Porn, I sure am disappointed—this is no more spicy than PG.

Fig Porn, primarily, earned me stares for the name... but, hey, what else can we expect from a company "born to stand out". The scent itself doesn't really stand out. At all. Once it was on my skin and even after it dried, I didn't get "fruity". I was getting sweet, woody, musky, powdery, and then floral, in that order. After a couple hours, the fruitiness presented itself very recognizably like fake strawberry. The strawberry scent is good and it's not overpowering as a perfume, but it does smell incredibly of fake strawberry. At the end of its life, it was a faint, fake fruity fragrance, all of the other notes having faded faster than the faux fruit. Not a whiff of fig in the frigging affair. I do like it, honestly. I can absolutely see myself wearing it on summer nights. But don't expect "fig hardcore" from Fig Porn: this is "strawberry softcore".

Surprisingly simple considering the name. After trying and liking BTSO's Angel's Powder, I added this to the sample list immediately. I'm on a fig kick and expected to love it. Maybe my skin just eats up musky frags like this but I'm just getting a slightly fruity skin scent. This has that "mature" powdery feel to my nose, and it's more cosmetic or scented candle-like than perfume. If you want something close to the skin and don't like your fruity fragrances too sweet, this will probably be a hit for you. Personally, I needed a little bit more from it and expected a hell of a lot more from BTSO. Named and marketed like a head-turner, but it's anything but.

It’s much too sweet for me overall but I think it’s well done in that I can smell all the individual notes separately but they eventually blend into a very pleasant fruity and floral fragrance with a lovely musky sandalwood base. I don’t smell anything that particularly says “fig” but there is a noticeable fruitiness. Vanilla comes through in the dry down and replaces a little of that fruitiness and the overt sweetness. To me this reads as quite feminine and for a younger person. It lasts about 4-5 hours on the skin but is much muted in its second half.

Opening does in fact strongly smell like a fruit scented house cleaning product. While the scent is extremely juicy and fruity, the vanilla dry down is very sweet. The fragrance is perfectly pleasant, but it isn't as adult or sensual as the name suggests. The sweet fruitiness is more reminiscent of a sweet body spray you'd douse yourself at summer camp. The longevity and sillage is pretty good, though. The perfect scent for someone looking for a sugary, fruit juice fig scent. Not exactly for me, though.

Interesting feminine take on fig. The fig note is nice enough, almost photorealistic, but the nuance is just overwhelming. There’s too much going on here. There’s decent harmony but it’s imbalanced. Everything jumbled together creates what this is, a synthetic mess! Very sweet fruit bomb 💣

It’s only figgy for the instant you spray it, then it immediately turns into a musky floral on the skin. I’m echoing other reviewers on this one - powdery pink flowers. Air freshener-like. Slightly sweet. I’ve tried many fig fragrances at this point and I wouldn’t rank this in my top 5.

I almost regret buying as It’s quite boring. Sunscreen sweet floral fig. Loved the name and wanted to have it in my collection. I have been using it occasionally though the summer so it’s not bad.

Smells like a nice shampoo. I like soapy scents like Crystal Emerald by VERSACE or Kimomo by d'annam for example but this is too much unfortunately

Is it bad? No. Is it fun? No. Should you buy it? Unless you're obsessed with fig, no. Just an ordinary perfume.
