Filthy Musk

Surprised at how negative the reviews have been thus far. I got it as a surprise sample, it is my first BTSO so maybe it doesn't live up to standards of other scents of theirs but to me this is a sweet but musky love affair. I find it incredibly interesting and sexy. I do have a very high sweet tolerance in scent, I love scents others find cloyingly sweet, but I really find this to be a wonderfully balanced fragrance. The sweet honey pineapple opening is then balanced out by the musky patchouli creating this really genuinely addictive experience where the two are almost fighting it out. As time goes on the musk because more prominent on my skin but is veiled by the sweetness. Eventually the dry down is more of a vanilla-y cozy. I tend to prefer feminine scents but I'd call this one a true unisex personally. The opening may be too femme for some but I personally don't like to categorize off of openings since they're temporary and small compared to the overall scent experience. I wonder if quantity is a big factor here for the negative reviews. I place a conservative swatch on my wrist and one on my inner elbow and it is plenty of strength to my nose, though I do lean sensitive in these regards. Speaking of sensitivities, I'm prone to migraines from scent and this one didn't even hint at triggering one. I was quite concerned since musky scents often have trigger ingredients for me. Frankly it might be TOO sexy and complex for me to buy. I do really love it but I'm afraid it's almost too attention seeking for my comfort. I could see myself buying a decent sized decant though. I think it's absolutely worth trying especially for gourmand lovers trying to add a little dimension to their collection.

I am so happy I was able to try this again. I don't remember the first time entirely, but it is a jarring fragrance however you put it. This time I was expecting this strength. And boy oh boy is it spectacular. I'm going to tell you this right now. You have to be in the mood. I’m talking in the mood. The sexiest ever sexiest possible. That's when this fragrance shines. You don't have to read into this. The name it says it all. It is filthy. I just so happen to be filthy as well. So I understand where they are trying to go with this. It's definitely musky. It's just not clean. It is a very dirty yet sweet clean sheets but not really smell. It's like the bedroom looks fine until you turn on your black light. Or is it blue light? I don't even know anymore. I love this. I love the creativity of this brand and I love the strength. It is expensive. Especially now that I know it's only a 50 mL. We are talking almost $450 for a 100 mL. That's not going to happen. Especially for a relatively new brand. You guys have to cut the price. That's more expensive than amouage or Xer. Can't do that. Not yet anyway. So figure that out and you guys might have something special. I can get behind the fragrances. They smell great. Everything else you still have to work on.

It perfectly visualizes putting my face into a large tuft of warm fur that had some very sweet honey/vanilla oils spilled onto it a few days before (and has now dried). I have worn this multiple times recently and I still have some mixed thoughts on it, especially on skin, but it just evokes a 3D reminiscence of cuddling with my dogs. I do think it smells better on a tester strip. On skin (at least, on my skin), it becomes a bit harsher, almost has a chlorine-like quality to it, and doesn't feel as thick, which is odd considering normally fragrances take on more depth from heating on skin. However it's still a very unique fragrance in my collection. This is a scent I love wearing at home but wouldn't necessarily wear it out in public, and certainly not at work. Quite animalic, but the sweet aspects (honey, vanilla, tonka, pineapple) balance it out, almost like a duo of polar opposites. I'm only testing it out for the winter, so far I predict that it will be quite overwhelming in the summer heat.

I bought a full 100ml bottle directly from Btso site . Immediately, to my nose it opens up with a slight funky BO like cumin/civet ? Then a couple of minutes later it's gets fruity honeyed then it gets very closed it happy nuts ( which I own). It's so close to happy nuts I wouldn't want to have both. This is a lazy release from BTso. I expected more from them. Also, I see they decided to offer cetain scents at 100ml. I wonder what makes the cut for the bigger sizes ( as the new releases are available for 100ml). I have dirty heaven I don't see a similarity. Dirty heaven should have gotten a 100ml option in my opinion. I give this a 6/10. Update : I tried this again several months later . Now I’m not getting the animalic notes so much . I pick up one honeyed/ caramel pineapple and musks . Then it becomes spicy /smokey in the dry down . This gew up on me , now I want a full bottle (100) ml . 9/10.

I'm loving the polarization of these reviews!! I sampled a spritz on the inside of one elbow at Printemps in NYC the other day and thought it smelled fabulous. Tested another lovely subtle woodsy frag on the other elbow and promptly forgot about it because I kept sniffing the BTSO. As a cat owner and human woman who pees I don't get cat piss or human piss, or even BO—I get sweet, sexy, utterly human, totally addictive hot person. When I got home 4 hours after spritzing my fiance leaned in and said "you smell GOOD" in a lower than average register. This is a Very Good Sign. I also own a bottle of the (similarly polarizing) Mad Honey EDP by BTSO, which smells like pure unadulterated honey in a way that feels almost biblical. When I sampled that one with a friend we exited the store and she said "I want to f*&^ you in the STREET!" Take all that however you will.

Okay look, it is overpriced. Its not that good. Buuuut. I tried it, and got it on my clothes and I could not stop smelling my jacket and my shirt for HOURS! On skin it fades quickly but on fabric it stays around. It's not that strong that it fills a room, but it leaves a certain something around that is hard to describe. This parfume is like if Clean Skin Reserve and Zadig Voltaire This is Her! got a baby haha. Anyways I got myself a bottle because I felt like treating myself. I still don't think its worth it, but it's a pleasant scent that my hubby finds attractive and I find it very comforting. Musky, ever so slight powder, some sting and bitterness from the pineapple, hint of animalistic, and I don't know how but it also smells a bit like steel/metal. And Clean. And dirty at the same time. Anyways, its good, just not 200euro good.

my girlfriend calls this my “catholic church” perfume, which i found funny enough to actually start wearing it on the daily as a jest. joke’s on me however, i’m now done with my little sampler vial and this fragrance has grown on me so much i’m forlornly eyeing full bottles online every other week. something about this insane mix of notes simply works with my skin, dries down to a very sexy, warm musk scent; woody and syrupy to my nose. almost incense-like, hence the church comparison i suppose. and it lasts forever, can confirm my girlfriend complained about it many hours after my modest yet ill-intentioned morning spritz. borntostandout when will your eau de holy nutsack be on sale please, have your people contact my people

Men and women compliment the smell from a hug alone. Musky, sweet, sometimes a spiritual kind of smell, sometimes the animalistic side comes out, maybe the smell adjusts to your mood from time to time but its incredibly pleasant the whole ride. From the first contact with skin in the morning to unwinding in the evening. First notes you smell gives you a confidence boost, makes you feel more fierce, the smell in the afternoon is calming and gentle. Love it for sure, it has made itself to be my signature smell of this year. I found it during a hang out with friends at a perfumery store, i fell in love immediately and my friends reactions were also reassuring - closed eyes and a gentle "woah that's good".

I’m really surprised by the low reviews. This smells so good to me. Musky, sultry, a little powdery and slightly sweetened by the honeyed ripe fruit (Pineapple) and Caramel (which I don’t get much of) . It’s smooth and seductively musky. The jasmine here is done beautifully and becomes more pronounced as the fragrance warms on skin. Ultimately drying down to a soft vanilla. It does also retain the underlying DNA of the house. This is a scent to wear when you’ll be around a significant other. It’s very seductive in my opinion. I can’t speak on longevity but this smells great! Especially on skin. I really enjoy this. Full transparency.. There is a slight saliva like smell, but I like it haha. 😆

First few minutes hit me with notes very similar to Nasomatto - sadonaso, but it quickly become much more multidimensional. I was not sure about the pineapple, cause I don’t really like fruity notes, but the combination with the nutmeg and jasmine mumbling in the background the smell merged into something warm but with some very delicate spicy notes. To me it feels very animalistic, seductive, intimate. Maybe that’s why some opinions says that it’s giving stinky, unshowered person. But I don’t feel that way. It’s fuzzy, it’s creamy. For more vivid, graphic explanation - it smells like the head of your favourite furry cat after burning incense on altar all day long.

Oooh, this is quite nice! The name is misleading; it's not filthy at all. A slight blast of pineapple in the opening, then sweetened with honey. I get the musk, along with the animalic notes, with the caramel and tonka adding sweetness to the base. I don't get any of the nutmeg, but I do get hints of the patchouli. I'm glad I requested a sample of this with a recent order from Luckyscent, because looking at the notes, I didn't think I would like it. I think it would be great in all seasons, but for the summer months, it might be better for the nights. A sweet and animalic musk, that's neither dirty nor filthy. Quite a pleasant surpise!

sticky sweet. almost syrupy. quite fruity opening, i can see how its a little pissy in a nostalgic way, but it dries down to a boozy, caramely musk, which some people perceive it as nearly fecal (a friend of mine said this). undeniably sexy, though. very musk forward overall. i went to a store to try this and it was sold to me as strongly animalic, and it isnt. the civet note isnt really as potent as i hoped it would've been, judging by the description the store clerk gave me. but, overall, it is a wonderful fragrance. pretty good introduction to animalic notes for a person that is just starting out to get interested in them.

everyone is hating on this but i love this. It was my love at first sniff of the brand. second would be Purple Stain. This is probs my fragrance of 2026. It smells like skin adtee doing something. People use the description of “pheromones” but meh it’s such a lazy description. It smells like skin (musky but not in that powdery overdone way), honey and a bit of sweat from someone you are attracted to. Love love love. It’s sweat but sultry imo

People complaining about a perfume named “filthy musk” that it smells filthy/animalic 🤦♂️.. Anyways yes this smells musky animalic thats in between furry-pissy/bitter with sweetness thats really a mix between vanilla and honey Musky-furr-sweet and in the dry down gets a little powdery Beautiful unique clean blend nothing sticks out or is overbearing in the notes i have to say i don’t pick up on the fruit notes

This is one of the best fragrancies EVER CREATED. Incredible. so, so, so , so good, so sexy, so strong!!!!!!!!!! ... on my clothes, lasts for days . No kidding. Please keep stopping me to ask me what I am using. Just wow. Too bad it's too expensive. For that price, it should be 100ML, and not 50. This is what is putting a lot of people off. But...amazing perfume indeed .

I love this perfume so much. I smelled it just because i ordered narcissist from BTSO Body cream and got a 2ml sample and the moment i put it on i fell in love😍😍. On my skin it last extremely long and its very sweet. Since its black Friday now the prices went down so it's a perfect time to get it if u think its overpriced.

I would consider this my first ever fragrance, and also the first fragrance I immediately fell in love with. Immediately when it is sprayed onto the skin it can smell somewhat like a very clean gas station bathroom, but give it time and it becomes a beautiful musky and sweet scent that is truly intoxicating.

so... this is a SEXY BOMB! .. Mama mia !.. The trail this fragrance leaves is incredible. It’s a real compliment-getter . People come up to me to ask what I’m wearing ( no joke )! You only need a little; it’s an intoxicating scent. Careful... it’s totally addictive. I love it!

I love BTSO's amber musk vanilla combination. "Filthy"/"animalic" notes are there in the first hour, then the dry down is musky amber vanilla with some twist (not animals but maybe nutmeg that is listed as a top note!?) Best part for me is the dry down. Addictive.

Yummy yummy yummy! Dirty and sweet but not unwearable. Smells like fruit left out in a hot room during the summer for too long, and it’s so delicious. The beautiful over-ripe fruity stick is almost reminiscent of one of Giovanna Garzoni’s paintings.
