Gold Juice

ENG: I first tried mango when I emigrated. We’d buy them sometimes in Ukraine once we had money (when public transport cost 5 hryvnias), but they were all Turkish, rubbery and green, and it felt like biting into a winter tire if you bit into one with the skin still on, or crunching raw potato if you peeled it. Then in emigration I bought an expensive, truly ripe mango. A big healthy one, a whole kilogram, soft but still firm. Like a large, excuse me, woman’s breast. Very heavy, the kind that pulled toward the center of the earth, but pulled pleasantly. That’s probably how a bag of money pulls toward the ground too—pleasantly. Before Gold Juice I bought another fragrance, also competing for the title of best mango in the world—Spiritica Mango Macumba. Nothing is more perfect than these two mangos, though they’re completely different. Mango Macumba has this suspense where the mango sort of recedes into the background, as if you got caught in a trap in the jungle and you’re hanging upside down from a mango tree. But in Gold Juice I smell nothing except mango magic. There’s no durian, nothing disgusting. Just some warm aura emanating from the skin. The mango here is honeyed, the kind that splits at the seams in your hands, and golden juice runs down your skin. An erotic mango, truly intimate. This fragrance is a home fragrance. It’s very good on a warm radiator. And in a bathrobe after a shower. A gluttonous scent, too luxurious to share with anyone else. What you’d call indulgent. So this isn’t a scent for school recitals. This isn’t stupid Gucci Flora, where you have to get drunk in a sequined dress and pass out on the couch at a party. This is an indoor fragrance, like a houseplant. This perfume, my intuition tells me, is precisely for those lucky bastards who rarely need to crawl out of the house. For remote workers and pregnant women. Especially for the latter, it seems like a blessing, because if you mix this mango with the smell of milk porridge or just milk (maybe even the rubbery-condensed kind like in Bianco Latte), it’ll be pure heaven. So this is a mango that’s not wild but domestic, yet still slightly unhinged. RU: Я вот манго впервые попробовала в эмиграции. Манго макумба имеет такой саспенс, что манго как бы отходит на второй план, как если бы ты попалась в ловушку в джунглях и висишь на манговом дереве вниз головой. А в Gold Juice я не чувствую ничего, кроме магии манго. Нет там ни дуриана, ничего отвратительного. Только какая-то аура теплая исходит от кожи. Манго здесь медовый, такой, что в руках по швам расползается, и по коже течет золотой сок. Манго эротичный, действительно интимный. Этот аромат — это аромат домашний. Ему очень хорошо на батарее в тепле. И в банном халате после душа. Запах чревоугодный и слишком шикарный, чтобы делиться им с кем-то еще. Что называется, indulgent. Поэтому это не запах в школу на утренник. Это не Gucci Flora дурацкая, в которой надо обязательно напиться в платье с паетками и уснуть на вечеринке на диване. Это аромат комнатный, как цветочек. Этот парфюм, как мне подсказывает интуиция, именно для тех везунчиков, которым редко нужно выползать из дома. Для удаленщиков и беременных. Особенно для последних, кажется, это как благословение, потому что, если смешать такой манго с запахом молочной кашки или просто молока (может, можно и резиново-сгущеного как в Bianco Latte), то будет просто рай. There should be some kind of filter in place to block people, like the 2 below, from making ignorant comments about scents they haven't tried. Imagine knowing absolutely nothing about how perfumes are constructed and judging based on 1 single note. There are dozens of possible interpretations of how a durian accord could smell based on the composition, so it doesn’t have to be stinky. Edit: After trying this, this is a mass-pleasing, delightful tropical scent and it is indeed completely lacking in any putrid or stinky accords. The particular accord in durian many people associate with an unpleasant odor is not in this. Instead the perfumer managed to isolate only the best qualities of durian: you get the creamy, tart custardy quality here, a luscious, fresh fruity (slightly sour) scent with warmth from the solar notes, and a slight floral hint in the background. It is a summer banger and would sell more if the price point was a bit better and this was EDP instead of EDT. Longevity of 1-2 hours is expected for an EDT, and projection is moderate. The point though is, if you comment with such emojis about a note in a fragrance you haven’t tried that isn’t even detectible, it still contributes to bias for many people, leading to a negative impression that isn’t warranted.

Agree with previous reviewer, it is creamy and juicy! And creamy not is some lactonic way. Just beautiful, very tropical and fruit forward. If you are into really fruity scents, likely you will love it. Mango is the most prominent, with durian being present too, but in a most delicious and not annoying way. I do not really get much floral or woody notes. But solar notes and caramel are there. I get some prominent saltines, but you know how when you eat some delicious ripe fruit (or e.g. honeydew melon) and there is a touch of saltines? So it is like that with Gold Juice, making it smell like very realist fruit and balancing the sweetness perfectly. In no way it smells like some marine salty scent. I know BTSO Eau Intime line may sound like it's going to be weak and with poor longevity (and I really need my perfumes to last!), but later I learned that they are marketing it as " Each fragrance is built to live like a second skin, a soft veil that is transparent and understated yet surprisingly potent. It stays close, melts into your warmth, and reveals a quiet power that lasts far longer than it seems with effortless intimacy" and I cannot agree more, lasting power is exceptional!

The fragrance makes an impression from the very first seconds 🤩 It’s voluminous, airy and truly filled with sunlight. The opening is bright and cheerful! Juicy-sweet mango blends with a creamy note that likely comes from the durian. Rhubarb adds a delicate tartness, refreshing the fruity accord and creating a pleasant contrast. In the heart of the composition solar notes and soft flowers begin to shine. Osmanthus brings a velvety, fruity-floral nuance, while white flowers add purity and softness. Everything is beautifully interwoven without overloading the pyramid. The base is gourmand yet very delicate. Light almond, soft caramel and subtle woody accents from guaiac wood add warmth and longevity without making the fragrance heavy. Overall, this is a joyful, well-balanced and versatile scent. Airy, moderately sweet and as radiant as a sunny day in the tropics. It’s a perfect choice for warm seasons and for those who are looking for a fragrance with a cheerful vibe and a fruity-gourmand character.

this nails it's namesake. it opens with a very realistic durian scent, like fresh cut. no "stink" just extremely fresh. it's hard to describe. then that fades to an extremely pleasant mango that isn't too sweet at all. very mature, sexy, and elegant without being overtly musky or any of those notes a lot of perfumes rely on to convey that. really captures the sort of gold chain on bronzed skin during a sunset vibe. it smells like you need sunglasses lol. I have a few mango scents and a few durian and this is by far my favorite for both. could have a slightly stronger sillage like others from this brand but I understand how being composed of a lot of top notes that's difficult. but that makes it re-apply friendly! and I'm excited to layer it with my rice scents. (not sure how well it would work with their rice scent tbh seeing as it's not 1:1, but cleaner 1:1 rice scents will be perfect for a mango sticky rice accord)

This was an instant love for me, one of the best tropical scents ever. It's a very ripe mango, almost as if you isolated the aroma of peak ripeness and amped it up to the max, so sweet and juicy. I also get what seems like a citrus sweetness reminiscent of pomelo: not sour, but fresh and very sweet-citrusy in nature. And of course, the infamous durian. I've smelled durian in markets around Asia, and it was a double-edged sword. On one hand, it was sweet, creamy, and very fruity, but on the other, it was also reminiscent of onions and general garbage. I am happy to say that the durian present here captures only the good side of the fruit. It's not the main note, but you can definitely pick it up. Overall, it's a very juicy, creamy, and slightly citrusy exotic fruit fragrance. Even though it's marketed as an "EAU INTIMITÉ," it has very good longevity and projection.

mango.... sweet for a summers day, an easy pick. I'm working on my summer course for college and I can't stop smelling an amazing angel cake, or maybe a caramel samoa. I had no idea this had a caramel note upon first spray!! It's so lovely I sprayed this around 2pm, its currently 5:40 and this scent bubble is so perfect...... I'm hoping that its Gold Juice and not some roll on perfume that could have brushed on my shirt earlier. BTSO might be my new- unexpected- favorite house ^.^ Gold Juice dries down to a passionfruit mango thats almost similar to Armanis Power of You, mixed with Sol de Janerios 68 or the dark orange caramel one.

Re-review - purchased a full bottle Stop reviewing fragrances you haven't tried, idiots. Anyway - I love this scent, one of the most photorealistic, juicy mango scents available. The durian brings a soft, creamy facet to this smoothing out the fragrance, no foul stench from the durian at all. The solar and floral notes really help keep this uplifting and bright, perfect for spring or summer days. Easily get 7-8 hours on my skin, great sillage for the first 3 hours becoming closer to the skin after that. If I could only have 1 mango scent for the rest of my life this would be it. 8/10

Ngl I was a little worried when I saw durian in this, as I’m very familiar with that smell, but I’m happy to report that none of the pungent funk in durian is present. Instead, you get a very ripe, pulpy mango, with durian providing more of a creaminess. The mango note is so realistic and doesn’t go syrupy or candy. A lot of mango scents I’ve smelled can be heavy and cloying, but this one has a lovely airy quality to it making it perfect for summer. Margaux Le Paih-Guerin does it again.

The combination of fruits in the top unmistakably give off the scent of passionfruit to me. This smells like passionfruit laced creamy white florals with solar notes. This is juicy, sunny, feminine and upbeat as well as extremely crowd pleasing and likeable. So far this collection from BTSO is really impressing me. Points metaphorically deducted for the terrible name though!

Its such a beautiful tropical mango&passionfruit fragrance, it almost reminds you of some fruit cocktail. Its sweet but incredibly natural, and the smell never gets old. Phenomenal scent. You just can't get enough of it. 9.5/10

This is really great! Very natural juicy ripe mango backed by creamy durian & white flowers! I'm honestly shocked the rating is so low. This is very inoffensive by this brand's standards 😅

The yummiest scent in my collection! So creamy and juicy! The durian note is not stinky at all. Strong projection and long lasting. One of my favorite scents for summer.

Gold Juice from BORNTOSTANDOUT by Margaux Le Paih-Guérin is a lovely fruity fragrance. Do not let the listed Durian note throw you off because it is only there to my nose in the instant the fragrance hits the skin. The fragrance morphs into a delicious mango and rhubarb aroma that seems so live on my skin for quite awhile after it has landed. I find myself quaffing the scent off my arm incessantly. This is a great summertime fragrance.

Don't know if I love it love it, it was a blind buy. I do enjoy it, though, it's very fruity but also it's also giving shampoo and conditioner vibes. I thought it would be a mango overdose, like many other mango fragrances, but it's this vague tropical, fresh, uplifting scent. I haven't smelled a durian in my life, nor rhubarb, so I don't know if those are present.

First let me say, the Durian note scared me. I knew nothing about Durian til I went to Thailand for several weeks back in 2016. I could smell it from a long way away and could NOT get over the smell of rotten onion and dirty socks to even imagine it being palatable. Anywho fast forward to getting this in my scentbox order. I went all in and just sprayed it on my wrist and took a deep breath. No Durian! At least not in sense of the off putting funk of the raw fruit. The mango is very juicy and ripe, not green but perfectly ripe plucked off the tree. The Durian my add the initial earthy type note, but if I didn’t know it had Durian in it, that’s not what I would have even thought. The rhubarb adds the tart side to the sweet mango but this fades pretty quickly before the florals come through. When the heart hits you are still smelling the mango (as it stays from start to finish) but then you are hit with the solar note which reminds me of taking a deep breath on a hot humid summer day in the Deep South while inhaling a multitude of flowers. They combine to where nothing stands out other than a floral smell. Now this is where it smells slightly synthetic to me and it could be from the solar note. It doesn’t kill the scent in my estimation only gives it a slightly nuanced feel. Finally in the dry down I only get a leathery woody/ambroxen smell. Still with the mango. I do not get any Carmel or Almond. Just wood, leather, (Ambroxen altho not listed in the scent pyramid, but it’s there!) and mango. In summation, it’s not really a new scent profile and in my estimation not a full bottle buy unless you want to layer it. I have no idea of the full bottle cost, so take that for what it’s worth. Definitely feminine leaning, but could see a gentleman layering this and wearing it.

Tested on skin. The opening and mid are very promising. I initially get a soft, fruity sweetness where the mango comes through nicely, and the composition feels smooth and well-blended. The caramel, vanilla, and almond give it a creamy, comforting quality that sits close to the skin and doesn’t project aggressively. The durian was tolerable and not pungent. At this stage, it feels balanced and wearable—nothing is harsh or overwhelming. However, as it continues to dry down, a solar note becomes more noticeable. Over time, that note introduces a sharpness that wasn’t present in the earlier stages. The creamy, soft qualities fade, and what’s left feels more piercing and less comfortable to wear. This shift was disappointing because the earlier phases were genuinely enjoyable. Longevity was over 6 hours. Final Verdict: Starts off soft, creamy, and beautifully blended, but the drydown introduces a sharp solar note that disrupts the balance. I loved parts of this fragrance, but the drydown ultimately made it a no for me.

This is a creamy mango! I honestly bought it for the durian note and so am disappointed to get none of that. If you had a mango sunscreen, this would be it as the dry down gets a tad more floral to me. It's not bad, but definitely sample before committing to a bottle, since it's very weak and not all that memorable of a scent. I would sum this up as a floral mango scent.

Smells like a tropical body spray, very light. I don't get durian but I do get passionfruit or maybe pineapple.
