From here on out I’m sampling any and all fragrances created by Camille Chemardin, this and porthole are absolutely incredible. I blind bought this after a rave review from a fragrance aficionado I respect (Equality Fragrances) Yes, this is unmistakably cannabis, as someone who has no experience with cannabis fragrances, I was nervous that this note would detract from its versatility and wearability, this was not the case. This could easily be interpreted in the air as an alluring fruity scent with a sharp herbaceous, yet ambiguous green note. The opening has a cooling sensation courtesy of the frozen mint accord, and no I didn’t read the notes prior to purchasing this, the mint note —while subtle and mostly present in the opening— is clear to my nose. I have no idea what rhubarb smells like, so I can’t say I smell it, to me this just comes across as a non-descript fruity sweetness nicely balanced with a sharp herbal/green accord. I can’t wait to put this through its paces and see how it reacts outdoors in the heat at the bar or any other social events. As of this writing I’ve only tested one spray on my hand as I just retrieved my bottle from the mail hours ago. My initial impressions are this will have a dense silage, but not necessarily a projection beast. I’ll edit this review if anything changes after further wearing.

I feel like I should apologize to Borntostandout. I had only gotten my nose on 3 of their fragrances so far and I wasn't impressed but then a friend who's a big fan pestered me since I love mint to try this one. I'm glad he did. This is absolutely amazing. Now, I love cannabis as a note. I'm not a huge fan of the skunky cannabis smoke vibe (ala Black Afgano) but when like here the hemp oil/seed is used, it gives a very fresh spicy vibe, kind of mentholated which here coupled with mint and sage makes this incredibly fresh, refreshing even. The cannabis note is very slight and spicy, not at all skunky to my nose so no need to fear for those who don't like that. This isn't the longest lasting fragrance, maybe 5-6 hours on my skin with 1-2 hours of decent projection. But the minty, refreshing vibe is killer and will be awesome for Summer. Absolutely a banger. I have a discovery set here and I'm eager to dig in and hopeful to find other surprises!

It can be said that up to now this is the perfume that shows the clearest cannabis scent note that I smelled right from the first spray. The scent is pleasant, not too strong, without too much transition, a green smell from beginning to end of fresh cannabis flower buds and lasts a long time. For those who love the "cannabis" scent, it is worth owning

The perfection is made by the name of Mary Jane, I cant stop enjoying this perfume, the tinglesh sense of mint and cannabis Is over powering, then comes the the tropical layer of this beautiful perfume, in a very calm and sexy way... I like it on the skin more than fabric.. Simply and with no 2nd thoughts its 9.5/10 I'm loving it

This fragrance smells like a soda mojito in the best way possible. I can see the cannabis smell a little but the mint note overpowers it and with the rhubarb and grapefruit notes it gives off this sparkling scent which is really refreshing. Great summer scent, love it

this is one of the best cannabis scents out there. the combo of it with passionfruit is amazing!! howeever i do think the elemi and rhubarb perhaps, are a bit strong and almost overshadow it at times. not for the fainted heart! longevity is brutal

Tropical and slightly sour fruit, crisp cool mint, and a sleazy mix of cannabis and caramel. I adore her. A fun and wearable green fruity gourmand with all of my favourite things. This scent pairs best with hot inebriated summer nights.

a thick sweet soft doublemint gummy scent

A scent I didn’t think I’d get (let alone like), but here we are! First off: weed. I wouldn’t know it by nose, not where I live (Singapore's strict!) at least, so I came into this wide-eyed and mildly scandalised. Turns out it is fascinating. Not skunky or thick or sludgy like the TV or those bad patchouli imitations would have you believe. Instead, it’s almost... airy? Green, but toasted. Fresh, but with a dry rub of heat underneath. Like dried leaves, smoked gently. Herbal, piney, even a little citrus-zesty if you squint hard enough. Mentholated at the top, cool and slightly prickly. Like it's inhaling. I also get what I can only describe as sea-brined laver note. Salty, vegetal, almost metallic in its sheen (think korean seaweed snacks, if they were plucked by a perfumer). The marine here isn’t clean laundry or beach spray, but the mineral sort. Sea-glass and tidepools. Algae blooming on wet rocks. There’s a saline-ozonic hum underneath, accompanied by contrastingly dry tea leaves. tannic, slightly smoky, grounding the high-flying herbals and terpenes with an roasted, old but alive depth. It’s like trespassing into someone else’s greenhouse at night. Everything damp and pulsing. A little forbidden. A little illegal. A little magic.

Sampling Borntostandout Mary Jane, fittingly involving cannabis, but also hemp, mint, woods, spices, and some sweets. It’s rather unique and a bit odd, a green-leaning take on cannabis that’s also fresh, tingly due to the mint, with a woody/spicy/ever-so-slightly sweet montage in the background. Despite its oddity, it’s fairly pleasant after the initial surprising burst, not overly cannabis/hemp-laden, in my opinion, one of the more restrained deployments of these notes, complemented by the green, fresh mint aspect, almost making for a bold freshie rather than something dark and edgy. I’m not sure I’d wear it myself but I applaud the creativity, and it performs well. As with the rest of the line, it’s EDP concentration, priced at $210 for 50ml, and sold at various US boutiques like Ministry of Scent. 7 out of 10

wanted to love this so bad because i LOVE the smell of high quality fresh bud. doesnt smell bad per se but NOTHING like weed. was expecting it to be more bright and green and a lil more resinous. but if you are a hairstylist like me you 100% will associate this scent with tea tree shampoo lol. good very cooling fresh scent for super hot humid weather but not something i'd wear every day

i would hily recomend this to stonners, the smell of weed isnt long lasting at all (5min tops) but the smell of mint and sage will compliment the smell of weed you naturally emit and keep you smelling gorgeous and fresh! stay diva

Earthy, minty, fresh and a little bit sweet. Much more wearable than I expected. MJ feels refreshing, green and clean. It reminds me green juice pulp, perfect for warm weather in the spring/summer.

A fresh mostly green fruity sweet (not overly just some hints) drink, the pine and woody notes create almost like a mossy atmosphere after the first 5 minutes, among all the BTSO this one is not that unique, ı have smelled 5 of them and Mary Jane is my least favorite, 5.5/10

Piney and minty with a caramel base. It’s very unique, but I don’t think I’ll be reaching for it often.

Sharp lemon, green cannabis, menthol and pine. This smells like the colour green. I got this sample free with purchase from the brand, otherwise it is unlikely I would have tried it. Quite masculine and outdoorsy, don't think I'm the target demographic for this one.

Loooook look look. I'm a stoner and I KNOW what weed smells like. And this perfume fails to resemble a single aspect of cannabis. Instead it smells like the long dead dreams of a Christmas section at the store on December 26th. The passionfruit is honestly lovely, but my compliments stop there. This is incredibly heavy on the pine, and I think it is clashing with the rhubarb making it smell very much like fresh-cut grass in a Bad Way. As it dries down, I can understand how one might see this as something *resembling* weed (probably helped along by the wood notes), but nothing about this smells like true cannabis. If you are expecting this to smell like a fruity, artsy spin on bud you will be sorely disappointed. You will instead smell like pine trees and grass and a hint of fruity body spray mixed with dirt/earth/sweat(?). It smells more like someone was wearing really fruity perfume and sat down in some freshly cut grass to smoke a joint, and then got really sweaty baking in the sun (pun intended. even tho i'm mad asf). It's just not good. If you want something that's closer to real weed and much more nicely balanced, try Sweet Leaf from Room 1015.

This is like a green Nasomatto Nudiflorum, at least, it makes me gag just a much, ew... Gross. I am almost done sampling the "Dark&Drunk" discovery set, and I'm starting to suspect that the creations of this house are not going to work for me at all...

i'm interested in an unsmoked weed frag and this completely missed the mark. i work in healthcare and this is still probably the worst thing ive ever smelled. theres an element that u can physically feel, like a smelling salts type deal

I have a number of cannabis based fragrances in my collection, Mary Jane is one I haven't revisited in quite a while so I sprayed it on today in celebration of 4/20 - like almost every other cannabis accord, it's not very realistic in it's creative rendering of cannabis' unique pungent green florals, resins and terpenes - the sage/grapefruit notes dominate with a mild skunky linalool/limonene terpene profile, then the mint/passionfruit comes out and finally a sweet woodiness settles in - it's a nice wear but nothing special and not something I'll likely wear again anytime soon. This smells nothing like weed but rather what non-smokers who have never smelled weed thinks it smells like, in the most positive imagination possible. To me, this smells like piss in a pleasant tropical way, the piss note does tone down over the course of the perfume and eventually merges with the fruitiness of the perfume. It’s a little off putting but also interesting enough to pull you back despite smelling a little like urine in the first 30 min of the wearing. I’ve got like 3 sample vials of this to go, let’s see if I get a full bottle.

On me this is grapefruit hard candies with pine tree sap mixed in. Wanted more of a sweet cannabis feel. Not feeling the grapefruit & pine combo. Testing more and more trying to get it to work all I get is Grapefruit & Pine Sol cleaning solution. Imagine those two combined that’s what’s happening for me.No cannabis. So bummed.

Wow the sage immediately transported me to my days in the Idaho desert, washing dishes with sage brush. Just for that alone I find this really beautiful. I get a little bit of cannabis but not much. Also for some reason this reminds me of St Julep by imaginary authors, maybe it’s the mint.

This smells like a menthol cigarette or bad mojito to me. It smells nothing like cannabis and I would know as a stoner lol. Love other born to standout perfumes but the frozen mint is wayyyy too much for me.

Quite often you can’t smell all the ingredients and notes of a perfume but this they blend perfectly well together and you can actually smell all the notes separately but blended. It’s a great one !

How no one is comparing this to Tales of Zanibar I’ll never know This is a clone of TOZB, although the notes are purposefully different Between the two. Zanzibar wins

Smells like very expensive luxurious hotel room! First minutes could evoke the celery smell, but once caramel starts shortly later - the scent is gorgeous!

Cannabis, basil, swedish 'polkagris', fig and the texture of air after rain. Gorgeous composition and definitely my new favorite cannabis-focused scent.

fresh, sparkling, succulent but also dry. A great bright and green rather than resinous and dark take on cannabis. A summer staple for sure.
