Unholy Oud

Don’t sleep on this house, got this and sex & cognac both are absolutely gorgeous Unholy oud - first sniff and you’ll say holy 💩 a good use of Laotian oud and rose but not your typical rose oud scent, it’s more like the Cadbury’s Turkish delight rose with incense lemon vanilla combo, then a heap of “real” oud not the silly funky stuff. Also not so much a gourmand but nearly. 10/10

Reminds me a bit of Oud Wood but with some citrus to it that makes it more interesting. Wouldn't replace my Oud Wood for this, though. Update: I would actually change my Oud Wood for this. The projection and longevity is about the same but this is better.

Starts strongly with Oud sitting next to the lemon which gives it a brightness that is backed by the rose lingering in the shadows. When the brightness wears off the Oud and rose really start to develop and turn into a softer, musky rose that has a soapy quality. Smells really lovely but for me as a man it leans too feminine- but would love it on a woman.

Opens with a very gentle almost candied soft rose After that it gets quite dry woody Some hints of refreshing citrus and balsamic almost nutty notes Very unique not necessarily for me personally

Interesting fragrance. First time testing blind it initially went on dry and earthy, like myrrh and almost incense - but followed up by an emerging deep floral. Second time definitely started out more fruity sweet with an undercurrent of powdered floral, maybe almond, almost marzipan and cherry. Looking at the name and notes now, not surprised by the oud, it explains the twisting and turning and morphing. The rosewood and vanilla are a bit more prominent giving this sweeter side. Has a very mature sensibility, almost too much, caught between its floral sweet and dark fruit side and its earthy woody incense side. Feels a hint feminine at times. Projection and longevity are good. The mature side makes me think of another house that has a variety of things like this, and with more distinct character. Feeling a bit middle of the road for me.
