Lamasat Oud

I just got a couple of bottles and holy smokes I can't believe what this stuff is. It is remarkably like oud wood, but SOOO much better. Here's why. Even older, superior batches of Oud Wood still stay flat and pretty much have that heavy muddy smell throughout its life. It's a pretty linear one to me. If you've smelled Woody Oud you know what I mean. The original is higher quality, sure, but they are both monotone broken records of the same funky aroma. This stuff departs by keeping the same distinctive DNA, but as it dries, it becomes the perfect mix of cedar and BOOM! Your brain will connect those scents and FINALLY Oud Wood starts to actually smell woody, not like a crazy fungus from under a rock in Mississippi. I'm not praising it just because it changes and develops, but because it is deeper and more satisfying, makes sense and makes you want more. I don't care if it's just a bomb of iso e super dropped on Oud Wood. I haven't heard that, it's just a hunch, but even if that's the case, it is brilliant and does the job that needed doing badly. I've tried putting some Molecule 01 under it to boost that effect and I like it a lot. To me this has to be the best departure from Oud Wood yet, granted I haven't tried Carved Oud, only Crafted Oud (and others), but as I understand it's departure is more floral as in Crafted, I feel like the Lamasat approach is more apropos and masculine and attractive in a huge way. You have to try them all to really get it, but I don't like the blue floral direction of those scents. It doesn't make sense to me as much or smell that great compared to this take. Lamasat is absolute genius and saved this DNA for me. I know a lot of women also love oud wood, but I never really understood it, so didn't really rock it. I'll be rockin this juice though, that's for damn sure. For this price you can't go wrong. Anyone with an interest in Oud Wood from any direction would do well to buy themselves at least a bottle if not several, lest it gets changed or poofs altogether. Oh, and screw Tom Ford's house for ruining that fragrance. Greedy fart-sniffers. ADD: By the way, the bottle and atomizer on this thing are insane. Heavy-duty bottle that looks cool, pressurized atomizer like Sauvage, and cap fits nice and tight. The whole package you get with this scent is way above that of any clone fragrance I've ever seen in my life. Support these people. This kind of work should be rewarded big time.

You’re here for a OW comparison. As many have said, it is closer to Carved Oud but unless you absolutely must have an Oud Wood clone then getting the best Thameen clone on the market should do. This is seriously impressive and by far the best out of Oud Wonder, Woody Oud and Mojo No.10 for quality of ingredients. Woody Oud and Mojo may have the best performance but they’re too synthetic and in the air around my partner I can tell something is off. That’s not the case with this. It smells literally identical to CO. It is slightly more spicy and less earthy in the opening but it’s such a minor detail. Performance is better than CO and the scent follows the same journey with a musky woody dry down that smells stunning. Compared to OW, it’s less fresh and you don’t get that heavy rosewood/cardamom pop. The accord is there as it’s essential to the DNA but it’s just more subtle and refined as CO is. If you’re after the perfect, non synthetic powerhouse OW 1 to 1 clone then you may be disappointed if you already find carved oud too different. If you love Carved Oud and don’t want to spend £250 then you need to get this. It’s utterly unmatched at this price point. P.s. the atomizer is pressurised just as the CO atomizer is. You really are getting a premium experience with this bottle. Pray it never gets discontinued!!!!

This is one is an absolute gem and a real sleeper, I'm shocked more people aren't aware of its existence. This fragrance fixes several of the problems of Oud Wood, but primarily the performance and the price. I wouldn't think twice about this being actually Oud Wood if someone told me that's what they were wearing. The performance is excellent at solid 8 hours, almost double OW's performance. There's a hint of Encre Noire A'la Extreme underneath, that shines through in the dry down and adds even more depth to it. Like Oud Wood and EN had a baby in the best possible way. You can find this for around $55 on a few US retail sites if you do some looking. I instantly bought a backup. This would make a great signature for any man or women, although I think it's better suited for colder weather. It does lean masculine for sure, but I could see a confident women pulling this off easily. Beautiful fragrance 9/10

Lamasat Oud Borouj is an elegant, dark, lightly pungent (in a good way), and mysterious woody fragrance. It immediately reminds me of Oud Wood by Tom Ford and Versace Oud Noir, sitting somewhere between the two while maintaining its own unique character. The fragrance is refined and smooth, offering a deep, captivating oud experience without feeling heavy or overwhelming. Considering its price, the quality is impressive. It could easily be paired with the fragrances mentioned, making it a great choice for anyone who enjoys this scent profile, myself included. In terms of longevity and projection, it is moderate to strong. Four to five sprays and you will definitely get noticed by those around you.

I always love the Oud Wood's DNA. Well for a fraction of a price, you're gonna get an almost identical scent with TF Oud Wood.. well there will be differences, but as you may know what I like about Lamasat Oud: 1. The bottle, box presentation and the Sprayer (New Mancera's /Dior Sauvage's hold-able type) are amazing. 2. Borouj as always, uses high quality material for the scent profile. Objectively speaking, it is not as high quality as the TF Oud Wood, but from what I smell, it is already high quality enough for the price. 3. For the SPL, I guarantee that this is far better than TF Oud Wood Objectively speaking, it is scored 9.5/10 (if price also calculated in the scoring)

Believe it or not, same but better than Tom Ford Oud Wood. Maybe I feel it a bit sweeter? I don't know, the differences are very very little but enough for me to like it better. Smells amazing, classy, natural, not a bomb fragrance at all, just right, just perfect. This brand always impresses me like Orientica or Amber Oud/Portfolio by Al Haramain, every time I put my nose on their fragrances I get impressed by the super high quality of ingredients in relation to cost. PS.: I just found out that this is a clone from older batches of Oud Wood, when it was a little bit stronger and sweeter, I just smelled a 2009 Oud Wood that is very well stored and that's it.

Smell is similar to Oud Wood by TF, but more musk and cedar. I like it and find a great replacement. I like REAL Oud. The oil attars from cambodia, brunei, indonesia, india, etc. TFOW is not oud, its an oud inspiration to allow western noses to really acclimate and be introduced to actual oud a subtle way. Many people here have no idea what real oud smells like and most likely would be put off. Tom Ford created a "western oud" accord that is a very distant cousin to actual, genuine, oud attar. I like it for what it is, but its not oud.

I’ve tried lots of clones from lots of brands - Lattafa, Rasasi, Swiss Arabian and so on. They can be really good but there’s always something ... a little flat, a little synthetic, some flag that the quality isn’t at the highest level. This is the first time with a clone I spray it and I’m hit by QUALITY. Real luxury. This stuff is legit! Blows current formulation Oud Wood out of the water. I’ll try Carved Oud again next time I’m at the niche shop to compare but I don’t really care how close it is, this stuff is amazing.

I live this stuff. I haven’t smelled Oud Wood or Carved Wood but if this is anything like those I understand the hype. I get compliments anytime I wear it. And to give you an idea, I paid for my gas inside a 7/11 then went to pump my truck. While pumping the lady behind the register came out to tell me that I smelled amazing. I told her thank you and she replied thank YOUUUUU! This is my third favorite fragrance in my collection. Number 1 is Perlador by Borouj (Carlisle clone) and number 2 is Naxos by Xerjoff.

I’ve loved TF Oud Wood for years but only would buy the travel spray as I couldn’t justify the price. I love a lot of the TF line but you’re definitely paying for the name more than the juice or quality. This definitely fills the spot for oud wood. It’s more like 85% of the way there for a fraction of the price. The performance and longevity are solid. Not a beast, but definitely strong. I got the discovery set from Borouj and this was a standout for me.

My first experience with an Oud Wood type DNA, and I have to say, I really quite like it. The quality here is absolutely stellar for what I paid for it. It has a very distinct patchouli note in the base that I dont see many mention, though it was the first thing I picked up. Mild and extremely versatile, this could be used any time, anywhere. Understated elegance – I'll be keeping a bottle of this. Edit 06-08-25: Longevity is magnificent as well!

Lamasat Oud is such an intriguing scent that left me in awe from the first spray. It opens with a slightly medicinal feel that mellows out into a spicy fresh, powdery scent that is absolutely intoxicating. It's the most masculine profile in my collection that I reach for often. Having never experienced its inspiration, I can confidently say that I don't ever need to as this has left me a satisfied customer.

Bought it in a search for a better OW fragrance with better performance, i have to say this smell absolutely amazing definitely a unisex scent, i cant say the performance are way greater than oud wood, but its slightly better in my opinion, it smell almost like OW but a little different on a drydown they smell almost the same, if u can get it for a cheaper price than OW u should definitely give it a try.

This is some amazing juice. I never smelt Carved Oud, but I've had Oud Wood and this is far smoother then Oud Wood. Last a good 7-8 hours on skin. A definite buy for anyome a fan of Oud Wood. **Just wanted to add that I recently received a sample of Thameen Carved Oud and it is 1:1 with Lamasat Oud. The performance imo is better on Lamasat Oud, I get a good 8-10 performance.**

This is not a clone of Oud Wood. This is a clone of Thameen Carved Oud, and it's a very good one. I like this better than Carved Oud. It lasts longer, and the patchouli and iris note are slightly more pronounced. This shares a DNA with Oud Wood, but is considerably different. I'm kind of surprised by how many people think this is a clone of Oud Wood.

This is 95% close to Thameen carved out, I own both. I also own woody oud by Maison Alhambra and sample of TF oud wood. all very similar but carved oud is a fresher version of oud wood and last way longer and has more of that designer oud element that we all love in oud wood. this is 9/10 definitely worth the pick up.

This is a STUNNER! I blind bought Lamasat Oud based on the reviews and wow, am I glad I did. It's warm, woody, and has this incredible depth thanks to the oud. The musk and patchouli in the base create this beautiful, slightly powdery finish that lasts forever. Seriously, this fragrance is intoxicating.

super high quality. Don't be a cheap skate chasing the other oud wood clones, it's 1000% worth spending the extra buckeroos and getting something this high quality. I own 600 perfumes so I know what I'm talking about + I'm much smarter than you so take my advice or else!!!!!

Phenomenal. If I were to test this blindly, I would think it was a niche fragrance. It doesn't smell like a clone. It is its own thing ... a citrus note, aromatic, woodsy, a very user friendly oud ... love it. 9/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.55

I just got this fragrance today and it is absolutely amazing! The oud is not overpowering and the opening as well as the dry down are equally smooth and very pleasing. I would definitely recommend this fragrance to anyone!

I own Oud Wood and Carved Oud.. This is like a mix of the two fragrances and it's absolutely amazing! I would say for the price, it's better that both frags it's emulating.. Definitely a great buy!

Very high quality. Supposed to be a hybrid of Thameen Carved Oud and Tom Ford Oud Wood. I like the fact that this fragrance is under the radar :)

Layer this with BDC EDP and you can wear it year round. Goes nicely with TF Ombre Leather in the cold months too.

Smells identical to TF Oud Wood but with much better performance. Highly recommend this stuff! 9/10

What a great scent but no one like it on me.

A beautiful fragrance... that I just can't fully love. This fragrance is very confusing to me. It opens a little harsh, but after a minute or so it transforms into a powdery, woody fragrance that left me genuinely conflicted. On one hand, it's masculine, elegant, and classy. The combination of the woods and patchouli creates something that reminds me of a dark, muted iris accord. It's incredibly smooth and, at times, absolutely beautiful. On the other hand, it's also quite polarizing. There are moments where it turns medicinal and gives off a distinctly "old-school" vibe. At its worst, it reminds me of paint that's been drying on a wall for a day or two. The frustrating part is that I really want to love it. Then I tried a fragrance from Rayhaan of all brands called wood noir and that completely changed things for me. The cardamom in Wood Noir ties everything together beautifully. It doesn't have the same blend quality or longevity as this fragrance, but the quality is good enough, and the scent itself is sweeter, more approachable, and more mass appealing. It's still masculine and a little challenging, but it's much easier to recommend. For me, owning both would be redundant. If I had to keep only one......I'd probably keep Rayhaan Wood Noir. Overall, this is still a great fragrance, and if you don't enjoy sweet fragrances, I'd actually recommend this over Rayhaan. Rating: 7/10 Final verdict: Refined, classy, and unique but also polarizing. A fragrance I admire more than I actually enjoy wearing.

Sorry, I know a lot of you love it, but I just gotta say what I experienced. Today, I tried Tom Ford Oud Wood (TFOW) at Sephora, and then immediately afterward, I went to another store to try Lamasat. And man, Lamasat just blew my mind in a bad way. I honestly don't get how people say they're similar. TFOW is all about those nice, subtle woody and oud notes. But Lamasat? It smells exactly like a super common PVC pipe glue we have in my country. I guess I'm just unlucky because maybe other people haven't encountered that glue where they live, but that smell is totally stuck in my head now! Btw Lamasat has better projection than TF and left a trail on my skin for a long time by super high oil concentration. TFOW smells great, but it's really hard to even notice it after about two hour.

It arrived today. I have Woody Oud by MA. Woody Oud came very week but after 1 month macereting it doubled its power. (4 hours on my skin, projecting moderately for 2h). That said, Borouj Oud is weeker than my Woody Oud before maceration. Thus, I dont't think it will get better than my macerated Woody Oud. Yet, Borouj's scent is beautiful, certainly more mass-appealing and its ingredients are of higher quality. Now I'll wait for the "maceration miracle" and see if it get better.

Nondescript woody musk. Honied patchouli. This is pretty good, but something’s missing. A little bit of depth or character. This frag is too straight forward...love it or hate it...take it or leave it. Something about the dry down reminds me of cereal that’s been out too long, but the milk hasn’t spoiled yet. I still dig it. B+. Maybe even an A.

Nice dupe/clone of Tom Fords Oud Wood. Decent longevity and sillage. The fragrance to my nose is well made and really for the price is a nice alternative to the inspiration. Enjoy!

At first spay is the only time that Lamasat oud smells like oud wood. Very nice powdery scent. Actually reminds me a little of Alexandria II.

Close to oud wood drydown. I wish it had spicy opening notes to it too 😔 since there is no good dupe for oud wood as of now. Shame!

Received it today, so far not bad at all, performance not satisfying at all, weak to moderate...

I bought a full bottle in the hope it would fulfil the need of having to replace my bottle of Oud Wood which is nearing the end. If I’m honest, Lamasat Oud didn't scratch that itch, not even close. I ended up binning the bottle with 75% left after using it daily just to try and get through it fast. It did nothing for me, very weak performance and projection, I had to overspray it like crazy just to get some sort of experience with it. I can say, after recently receiving a sample of Carved Oud, this is definitely very, very close to that. If you like Carved Oud, this could easily fill that void and save you some money. For what it's worth, Carved Oud is also nothing like Oud Wood, distant second Cousins at best. Overall 5/10, not my thing. Not even close to being an Oud Wood clone. It is however very close to Carved Oud.

First time I sprayed this on I knew I had something else that was practically identical to it. I knew it was unique and I only had one other fragrance that smelled like it. Once I figured it out it smelled even more like it then I realized. That fragrance my friends was Versace Oud Noir. Man they practically smell identical in the opening. They're quite different once they start getting into the drydown but overall it's a decent scent for a decent price.

I wanted to like this one but it reminded me of my grandmother... either she wore TF Oud Wood or this smells nothing like it. I find it floral in an old fashioned way, and no where near as woody as I would have hoped.

A master piece for the price :) This is easily one of the best value oud plays out there right now. The opening is real agarwood, smoky, resinous, but never that harsh medicinal oud that scares people off. Cedar and guaiac wood give it structure and a creamy, slightly balsamic warmth, and it dries down into a soft musk-patchouli base that just sits beautifully on the skin. Refined, dark, a little mysterious, but smooth all the way through. The thing to know: this is an intimate scent, not a beast. Moderate projection, close to the skin after a couple hours. It reads a lot more sophisticated than the price point. Perfect for the office, dinner, colder evenings. Quality-to-price ratio is honestly absurd. Blind, I'd call it niche. I do not find it unisex, def. men leaning. 9/10. Buy it before people figure out how good it is. :)

Lamasat Oud opens with the clean, detergent accord of Oud Wood. I get a spicy aromatic fougere note that makes me think of the lavender of Belle en Rykiel and Georges Rech Alexandrie Mon Amour (both of these have the wood and amber/vanillic accords of Oud Wood but are very different and go in an oriental direction). I think this lavender note is what activeharley is picking up in the review further down. The impression of Oud Wood is there, especially as it dries. Where it differs to me is in the balance of sweet and woody notes that Oud Wood has. This is drier and more aromatic, as well as less creamy. Still a nice fragrance.

Compared to oud wood, I find the most similarity, however this is more powdery. There is a bit of an iris presence, I smell some similarity to new armani code edp. The oud is smooth, much like oud wood. I think carved oud is a bit rougher and woodier than this one. Musky and powdery balanced with clean woods. Very easy to wear I think, works likely a bit better in the colder seasons. Well blended and strong longevity and reasonable sillage. Not very strong projection

Great clone of Thameen Carved Oud, with subtle differences, which is a beefer clone of TF Oud Wood. Like Carved Oud, Lamasat is full, smooth and well blended. The oud is never overpowering and combined with the other notes linger in a cloud around me. Also like Carved Oud there isn't the "sparkling" effect that seperates them from Oud Wood. With the price being well below both Carved Oud and Oud Wood, I'd def recommend Lamasat Oud!

Clean linen and musk. This smells like freshly washed linen and musk. I haven't smelled oud wood but I have Clean Musk by Authenticity Perfumes and this is identical to that but better. Clean Musk has some sharp notes all over the place but I now realize they were trying to clone oud wood. This fragrance is well balanced, performs well and is extremely nice! Clean linen and musk... An office fragrance masterpiece.

Im not a clone guy at all, but I must say, for a Carved Oud clone this is easily a 9/10. One marked difference Ive noticed though is that Lamasat Oud flattens out into a powdery musky deal alot in the base/drydown. Whereas Carved Oud maintains this sort of rounder, woody, and slightly ambery facet throughout its drydown, which I attribute to the added vetiver & amber.

Bought three Borouj maybe 4-5 years ago. Tried them. Let them alone. Today spayed a tiny, tiny bit of Lamasat. What a joy. It kept wafting from that tiny spray and I was delighted every second of it. No idea it it's similar to the TF or Thameen comparison, but to me this is a woody scent, and a good one.

The opening of this one is almost 1/1 Carved Oud. Later on it settles somewhere between Carved Oud and Oud Wood. Much much better quality than your usual clone (this is Borouj niche line after all). Lasts at least 8 hours on my skin with constant moderate projection. Awesome juice!

@Newtype0085 i remember seeing your comment from some time ago, tried layering with BDC today and WOW, its a literal cheatcode. I never like layering but this combo smells like something creed or penhaligos would come out with.
