Oud Al Sultan

There's a dank, rotting wood smell alongside the oud. Sort of like an old, wet, muddy plank from an abandoned building site. The oud and cedar smell like the bone-dry oud and cedar from Zemfira, while the rose is much more restrained. The citrus top notes are my least favourite part of this perfume. They're not like the beautiful shimmering Bortnikoff citruses in Oud Cologne, but more aggressive and synthetic smelling (although once they abate, a warm, sweet base takes over and makes it feel more like the old Bortnikoff gems). I don't know why he started doing these histrionic citrus tops, maybe the materials he used to use aren't available any more or perhaps he just likes that style. From what I gather, none of his fans enjoy these latter citruses. This perfume is extremely strong and can be nauseating, but applied minimally the sillage is wonderful, while I must admit I continue to struggle with the up-close experience of it.

It's like a zemfira for the rose note and like oud Sinharaja for the clean oud profile but with a little dirty monarch tailandian oud (if I am not wrong). Very pleasant Parfum, good one. Edit: After 48h, I can smell the most wonderful and smoothest oud scent on paper and it seems that it will oast forever there tenderly.

Damn I like this, aromatic punch of citrus in it's opening while having a strong background of florals, soft vanilla, and oud. Beastly and definitely worth it's price if you enjoy!

Wore this and my entire family appreciated the scent. As far as longevity/silage.... they could smell it when passing several feet away. A very unique spring/summer rose oud. I enjoyed the vanilla/oud at the base. Definitely on my must have shelf. Wife loves it. I agree some with rbalkris below, but still want a FB.

Light powdery woody citrus scent showcasing a clean Thai Oud. The scent opens with citruses, transitions to a floral middle and settles fairly quickly on a base of guaiac, vanilla, cedar and oud. The unisex scent has intimate to moderate projection and longevity. On the plus side this is an Oud scent that can be worn in summer. On the flip side it is too soft to make much of an impact. One of the lesser offerings of the brand. Enjoy!

I’ve been to public toilets that smelt more tolerable than this.. Kudos to the users that were able to pick out the nuances of this scent and actually enjoy it, but to my nose, this smells worse than a urinal.

This is an absolute stunner. I won’t discredit those below, for I’ve really only experienced 3 Bortnikoff scents being this, Oud Cologne, and Oud Monarch. Bortnikoff does citrus so well in perfume, it’s so vibrant and realistic. I feel the citrus, florals, Oud, and vanilla are all equally showcased here and everything is well balanced. They both share the stand, and support each other well. The performance is incredible for this fragrance as well. 12+ hours and still kicking... the projection isn’t even that intimate at this moment. If you’re looking for a wearable Oud, that helps standout from the crowd this would be it. Also if you’re into this, you’ll likely love Oud Cologne, or Acqua Di Parma’s Oud. Both amazing citrus rich ouds.

This is a fragrance that we could have done without. Citrus top and vanilla at the mid/ base seem to be a DNA that the perfumer use a little too often. The late drydown of oud al Sultan is the highlight for me as it is a pleasant clean oud that anyone would enjoy. The mid combination of jasmin & rose gets sharp and somewhat funky and slightly gasoline like.. Not quite a fan. IG: eatandsmellgood

This smells alot like an "Eau de Cologne" mixed with a urinal cake. Not the concentration, but the traditional petitgrain and citrus type fragrance. Not a fan, but this is just on a blotter. Need to wear on skin to get the full spectrum. 5/10

Very nice, reminds me of other citrusy bortnikoff ouds, monarch or maximus or something. The closest to his original work, a clean summer oud

Smells like bois Belize with Oud cologne. But this thing last very long. (Pre 2023batch)
