Tiger Blue

Okay, I saw the "This perfume reminds me of" section and thought, no way. There is no way a Bortnikoff would smell like that. People are just voting for Tygar because the word "Tiger" is in the name of this Bortnikoff fragrance. So I got a sample anyway and...well. It's actually not trolling. It really does smell like Tygar // Vibrato // Ingenious Ginger. Of the three is smells most similar to Ingenious Ginger in my opinion. It has that sparkling ginger/grapefruit opening, floral heart, but with that semi-sweet, musky, woody base that IG has. Objectively it smells great. Blending expertly and it might be a top contender for the best of this DNA if we compared them side-by-side. But I'm seriously left scratching my head. I thought this was supposed to be the entry into Bortnikoff? Because I think the gap between this and let's say, Sayat Nova, is pretty wide. So maybe they are just trying to capture a different demographic? I'm not sure. I'm not really sure who this is for. There are so many other cheaper options for this DNA and I don't think Bortnikoff fans are going to appreciate this. Maybe this is just one of those fragrances that needs the right conditions to bloom. Admittedly I'm testing this in the dead of winter and it wears pretty linear. If there is something to this that I'm missing, I'd love for someone to share their opinion here. I love the house of Bortnikoff and I want to understand this one. For what it's worth, it's very present off my skin. More so than something like Tygar or Alexandra's Black Panther. Both of which I go anomic to almost immediately with the high dose of ambroxan.

It kind of smells like Tygar, i find it richer and deeper, not as sparkly although it has like an old box smell to it but it doesn't bother me, I would not call this a safe scent but I enjoy wearing it it has a class and rich smell, I bought the travel bottle very cheap bottle the sticker is falling off, for some reason the sample I had first, smelled more floral maybe a different batch.

Better than Tygar and Ingenious Ginger which are straight grapefruit juice and ginger ale. Way better, the added florals make this almost barbershoppy and now I see why Tygar is people special occasion fragrance. 9.9/10
