Victoria

Lovely ambery floral with a fougere like construction. The scent opens with aromatic notes of orange flower, lavender, apple, and elemi. The heart is a floral bouquet of jasmine, rose, ylang and neroli. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of ambrette (musk mallow), oud, labdanum, oakmoss and patchouli. In spite of so many ingredients the scent has a delicate sophisticated airy touch to it. The unisex fragrance has moderate sillage and good longevity. A delightful and enjoyable scent. Enjoy! Victoria is a superb creamy oud/balsamic perfume. I struggle to discus notes with this bottle, because while I could parse some out for you, Victoria is so beautifully blended and balanced that my experience is more about the intrigue in its development, and my overall simple enjoyment of wearing the perfume. And Victoria is perfume Art. This is my second Bortnikoff bottle and I say without hesitation that he puts commercial houses to shame. Victoria is an absolute pleasure to wear.

Mellow aromatic top-notes of lavender, florals and fruits lead into a booming spicy heart of incense, pepper, ambrette and a jammy rose. The Oud peaks through In the long dry down and recalls some of Bortnikoff's early works, but this is an entirely new direction for the brand as a whole, and feels more akin to a natural take on Amouage than it does Bortnikoff (the father). A very enjoyable wear.

its funny how people can smell the same notes, same perfume, and yet each smell something completely different. Some people say this is beautiful yet the first time I sprayed it, I thought, this is by far the worst scent I have ever smelled. Like bad laundry, something very stale and I guess that must the be the oud note. Not a fan.

My best way I could describe this is a juicy green apple patchouli in the opening, Maybe with some pear...In just 5 minutes the patchouli goes from green like the fruits into the sweeter darker cacao type of patchouli & that’s the kind of patchouli that draws me in!! I thought it was going to be some sort of twist on Erba Pura, But no way!! Not at all!! Within 10 min of it only being on one of my wrist front & back....This is seems more in the ballpark of Fort & Manle Purple Hat that I bought a bottle of a couple of months ago..Where that one’s a chocolate Lavender scent, This is chocolate lavender while still keeping the green apple accord as well type of scent & while my only gripe on Purple Hat is it could be a little more potent account of how much I tend to have to spray it..This feels like what is probably a powerhouse!! Further in I actually got a thought in my head of Frederic Malle Promise because of the Oud & Apple! This is sweetened more in my opinion..I was skeptical of this house at first, But now starting to see what all the buzz is about.

Very much an oud scent. It has the strong and raw character of oud, but it's not barnyard at all. Not sure if it's the florals that does it, if it's a certain type of oud that smells this way, or just how oud smells when mixed with fresh ingredients, but it gives off a damp forest smell. You know, how the forest smells during rainy seasons. Where the trees gives off a certain wet smell. That is how the oud in this one smells. Not in a bad way, just different. If you want an introduction to the raw and natural nature of oud, but wants no part of the stinky aspect of it, this is a good one to begin with because of how the oud is portrayed here.

Opens up with a huge herbal, bitter presence. Give it 10 minutes and other notes begins to unfurl. Syrupy blackcurrant, hint of underripe pear, vanilla, medicinal oud, galbanum and lemon peel. Slight chocolate nuances and patchouli in the background as well. Very complex, you'd probably find new facets with each wearing. Bortnikoff is one of the more wearable artisanal brands but this one is a tough pill to swallow honestly. Edit: 1 hour in and this actually wears beatifully. Something akin to Interludes powdery, very resinous oud/chocolate combo but with a soft rose joining the party. Damn, what a twist.

This smells like a photorealistic daisy. Specifically the small ones growing close to the ground (Bellis perennis).

What's the role of Burmese oud here as a basic or just hint?
