Meraki

Got a sample from Venba.com because I heard youtube Veronica Says sing it's praises. It's a bit hard to find here in the US. As a longtime fig lover always searching for different fig scents and a lover of Tiziana Terenzi Vele which this has been compared to, had to try! First blast is dry green fig and then bright juicy strawberry enters soon afterwards. Then comes the cedar and many hours later the mild patchouli base. Every time I wear this it grows on my more and more. Today I was absolutely fiending for it and I'm going to purchase the FB even though I swore off buying more bottles...it's just that unique and delicious! First time I wore it I thought the strawberry was a bit too similar to Burberry Her which I don't love. But now my nose just smells the amazing fruity compote of notes altogether rather than only picking out the strawberry. This has amazing sillage and longevity as well. Yesterday I sprayed 3 little sprays from my tester vial post shower at 6 a.m. As you probably know the tester vials don't even give the best most generous sprays. I paired it with like 12 sprays of Brittany Spears Festive Fantasy which I adore, all fruity Dewberry. Hours later went out to dinner and I was still picking up unadulterated Meraki very strong, while the 12 sprays of Festive Fantasy were pretty much just a memory.

Meraki Botanicae - yummy creamy deliciousness. Okay so, I’ll be honest — I didn’t think I’d be into this one. “Fruity” usually makes me think of sticky-sweet teen perfumes. But this? This is something else entirely. It opens with this creamy, soft strawberry — kind of like ripe fruit smashed into fig jam. There’s this almost tropical warmth from the fig, and a little sharpness from what I think is blackcurrant? Anyway, it's not cloying, just... interesting. About 20–30 minutes in, it all mellows into something warmer and more intimate. Vanilla, powdery woods, maybe a soft musk or iris — not sure exactly — but it feels like slipping into something cosy after a long day. Think figgy vanilla comfort rather than fruit salad explosion. Unisex to my nose — I wouldn’t call it traditionally masculine, but it doesn’t scream femme either. Clean, comforting, with just enough character to be interesting. Performance? Around 6+ hours on skin. Projects softly, but you’ll catch whiffs throughout the day. Better longevity on fabric. The drydown on clothes is honestly where the magic happens — warm, creamy, fig-vanilla bliss. Final thoughts: it’s unique, easy to wear, and doesn’t smell like anything else I own. Not a loud statement piece, but quietly addictive. I’ve gone from “not sure” to “maybe I do need a full bottle...”

This is a super interesting one, and I love it. The flash at the open really grabs your attention for the complex dry down accomplished with minimal ingredients. The opening is bright and sparkling. As it evolves, the softness of the florals and woods evokes quiet moments, almost like a breeze carrying familiar smells from another room. The base notes are comforting and nostalgic. Meraki doesn’t push for attention; it draws you in, slowly unfolding into something intimate and quietly beautiful.

Meraki is sweet, powdery deliciousness. Strawberry and blackcurrant are definitely the lead notes here. The fig is very much secondary to these, followed by a mix of vanilla and a soft sandalwood in the background. The fig is creamy, with just a hint of green. I don’t get any bitterness. It’s sweet but not too sweet. For me, it’s a perfect balance. I find this very comforting and easy to wear. Another new favourite. I’m sold!

If you love the smell of a creamy green Fig and strawberries this fragrance is for you. I adore this fragrance and purchased a full bottle immediately after receiving a sample with my purchase from Myperfectscent.co.uk. I have a lot of Fragrances and I don’t think I have any fragrances that smell like this.

A beautiful fruity scent , strawbery really well balanced , lovely

This one is extremely interesting. The notes in the pyramid seem correct, but the order is a jumble. On first spritz, you are greeted with a sharp blast of blackcurrant, cedar, vanilla, patchouli, violet, iris, and an almost caramelised note. All of these are woven together in equal parts sweet (blackcurrant-vanilla-violet-caramel) and bitter (iris-patchouli). The combination is well balanced, intriguing and complex. However, there is little time to enjoy it because after a few moments, the bitter is gone -- poof! -- and the perfume takes a hard left into blackcurrant territory. It becomes a strong fruit scent -- the blackcurrant leading ripe strawberry, black fig, and vanilla - with a touch of earthy patchouli. It reminds me of a less-green, less earthy Miller Harris "Found At Dusk". Which is not to say it doesn't have earth or green, blackcurrant leaf and patchouli keep this out of candy territory; but fruit still owns the mid-section of the pyramid. In fact, it gets jammier and sweeter as time progresses, verging on Byredo "Pulp" territory. As the base begins to assert, interestingly Meraki gets more powdery and abstract. The woods and vanilla dowse the fruit a bit. The fruit goes from sassy and indulgent to more understated and demure. But blackcurrant, regardless, is in control here. This is a blackcurrant fragrance, with fig and strawberry in backup singer roles. In any case, it's lovely - I adore it! - but I already own a bottle of "Pulp" and three bottles of "Found At Dusk", which is better, so I can't justify a full bottle. They've discontinued "Found at Dusk", though, so if this is still around in a few years I may come knocking for a replacement. If you like blackcurrant you won't be disappointed.

there's definitely a bit of a rotting/fermented fruit smell upon spraying but it goes away quickly. for some reason the most prominent note on my skin is the cedar. around the 3 hour mark the floral and powdery notes start to appear, along with a hint of freshness. another 2 hours, i smell the vanilla and sandalwood. overall, a nice fragrance experience. i didn't really smell the fruit though. 💔

It’s lovely, one of the better strawberry scents I have tried. It really reminiscent of wild strawberries, they smell different from regular ones and I find that lovely. It’s lovely sweet and pretty but not a complex scent, it’s more on the simple side. Random but it reminds me of strawberry mint shower gel that I used as a kid.

Powdery with a capital P! It’s not even a vintage powder or a cosmetic powder. It’s like I sprayed a fruity dry shampoo in my hair and you’re getting the fruity scent with the dry shampoo powder. It’s nice but too much powder for me.

It's a powerful strawberry yogurt. Great longevity, but the opening can smell like rotten fruit, which then develops to a fruity, slightly powdery scent.

Cloying, even in 25°C. The opening has a distinct fig note with some strawberry background and sweetness. This quickly transitions into sweet powderyness with some fruit in the background. Not good. I had to wash this off after 30 minutes. After a couple of hours, what remained on my skin actually smelled quite pleasant, because the cloying powderyness was gone, and I could actually smell the cedar, sandalwood and patchouli.

I own probably over 250 bottles of perfumes (not including travel sizes, decants or samples) and I don't have anything that smells like Meraki. Although Meraki could easily be summed up as a fruity - woody perfume, it is much more than that. It has the complexity and depth, and the way it changes and shifts on my skin during the day is mesmerizing to me. It is not a summer perfume, even though it has fig, strawberries and coconuty sandalwood. It is not a cold weather perfume, although it has sandalwood, vanilla and patchouli in the drydown. This is an excellent all year around perfume that can satisfy your cravings for a sweet, floral, fruity, woody or powdery type of scent. Opens with prominent notes of fig and strawberries creating almost jammy feel to it, iris and violet are slowly joining providing the subtle powdery aspect, while coconutty sandalwood with warm vanilla in the base are heating everything up. During the complete development process on my skin, fig and strawberries are always on the top, with subtle coconuty sandalwood they create such a dreamy combination that after more than 2 months in my collection, I still haven't gotten over with.

My this is strong! The fig is there in the background but you mainly get the strawberry & blackcurrant, the fig almost gives it a lime vibe to counteract the sweetness. Marketed as Unisex but personally it's decidedly female, I think as a male you'd need to be happy to wear something like Mugler Angel Nova to wear this.
