Polianthes

I can't believe that the perfume this supposedly resembles the most is Keiko Mecheri Tuberose! I never tried it, but the reviews absolutely trash that one! Luckily, I received a decant from our own Anamandy and fell in love. To me, it's more about gardenia than tuberose, which I attribute to the addition of tiare - aka "Tahitian gardenia" - on top of a separate gardenia note. The florals are all exquisite, and in addition to the whites, the ylang works beautifully, linked to vanilla and benzoin in the base. The warm, resinous base makes it difficult to classify this as "beachy", though it most definitely is "tropical". The added touch of olibanum is unexpected and appreciated! But for me, it really is all about the luscious effect I get from the two "gardenias". It just works really well on my skin - nothing unpleasant or particularly challenging. Just a well balanced, well constructed tropical fragrance, that can be worn throughout most of the year. The silage and longevity are moderate, and it leans very feminine if that's something you care about. This is based off of 4 sprays. I still have enough for at least 1 more wearing, but I plan on purchasing a full bottle at some point. I consider it a stand out among its type, but given the cost, I'd recommend testing before purchasing.

I really lucked out with this brand. I blind bought 3 different fragrances and loved every single one. None of them are silage beast, though I could smell them the whole time of wear, but the longevity on all is excellent. I'm really loving the perfumer, Maurizio Lembo's style, and look forward to trying more of the perfumes he's created. As to this fragrance, it is a bubblegum tuberose with a buttery tiare note and a creamy gardenia. There is just a little bit of green fruitiness, possibly from the ylang, but nothing that resembles a fruit salad. I did hope I would have smelled the banana note that another reviewer mentioned, but I'm not getting that, though I might in warmer weather as the tropical profile is more geared to that time of year. It dries down onto an ambery vanilla base with a trace of vetiver and woody notes, but the flowers are always present for me from beginning to end. Like all of Lembo's perfumes, this is a very smooth and polished fragrance that smells a lot more expensive than it is. They're actually bargained priced because in addition to receiving a 100ml bottle you also receive 2 full 10ml. travel sprayers. That's a great value for a niche brand and just perfect to take along on my upcoming vacation.

Polianthes is a very creamy vanillic tuberose w/ a more tropical bent because of the tiare flower. This is slightly indolic which I love. I am getting a banana note here as well, almost like champaca was used in this fragrance. I wonder if it is coming from the ylang, that can give off banana nuances. This is a buttery, indolic, vanillic, white floral w/ a slight sunscreen vibe w/ a nice barely ripe banana accord. I swear to God Champaca is in here. I do not get the comparisons to Madonna's Truth or Dare that perfume is far sweeter w/ more vanilla and a very dominate lily. They are nothing alike. I really like the teak in here for the dry down. It is giving off a woody smell, but this fragrance is not overly woody. There is a bit of vetiver but it is very light. This smells very high quality and very natural. It smells like Hiram Green's Moon Blooms child to my nose. Not a dupe for Moon Bloom, don't get me wrong but if Moon Bloom had a child it would smell like Polianthes. This is really beautiful. A slight powdery gardenia here as well. Just went on my want shelf. This house has some stellar juice. I hope more people here give this brand a try.

my favorite white floral of all time. i gifted this to my mom and it's her signature now <3 she's always been a huge fan of white florals, and she says wearing this makes her happy, especially in the dead of winter. whenever i visit i sneak a spray or two. it's so yummy. i don't get vanilla at all, but if anything it's adding an extra-creamy, but not cloying, sweetness to the already creamy tuberose and tiare. i get the banana comparisons, too- like banana taffy in the best way

I really like this one. The Ylang-Ylang here makes me think I am smelling a little banana and the Tiare flower gives it that beach vibe a la Child by Susan Owens. I might like this better than Child because the tuberose is not screetchy but real smooth and well blended. This makes me feel like I'm in the South Pacific Islands drinking tropical drinks with little umbrellas. Nothing wrong with that.

Polianthes opens bright and intriguing - fresh white flowers tiare, tuberose a hint of gardenia - all fresh cut. The pleasure lasts for 20 min on me before it dries down to a faint bubble gum smell. I cannot detect any middle or basenotes. Its all about the first sniff. Lovely anyway.

Creamy vanilla tuberose with a uniquely sneezy tiare that adds the 'tropical' feel in Polianthes. An oily ylang maximizes that effect, before the scent tapers down into a lightly incensed and woody base. Best suited in spring and summer, scents like this generally wear best during these seasons. Not a major projector (arms' length), but rather long-lasting.

90% similar to Jasmine of Athens from Theodoros Kalotinis. Same banana-like super sweet tropical ylang ylang with some solar white florals. It's lovely

I really wanted to like this... my first sniff in the bottle was highly intriguing, and at first spray, I thought I had found a winner. The tuberose/gardenia/jasmine combo reminded me slightly of Kim Kardashian in its sweetness, but Polianthes was richer and more complex... yet as the top notes faded, so did my enjoyment. The middle notes brought an earthier feel that translated to "dusty attic" on my skin, and this was the scent that intensified over the next few hours. Scrubber. :(

This is such a beautiful fragrance, bubblegum Tiare, Tuberose and vanilla. It smells very natural and gentle. I wish it lasted longer on my skin, but my skin eats all the perfume almost immediately even the ones which last for hours on others. The bottle is very sophisticated, classic, I think this is a hidden gem.

This is quite lovely, a kind of tuberose bubblegum scent. It's very sweet but also creamy and fruity. The vanilla note tempers the florals and works very well. Nothing earth shattering but a quite effective floral gourmand.
