Rose Poudre

Powdery rose perfection! This is how I hoped Ombre Rose would smell. But Ombre Rose smelled dated to me, as if it was a throwback to the 19th century. Rose Poudre has a vintage appeal yet still feels very modern at the same time. What distinguishes this the most for me from Ombre Rose is that there is actual rose used here. In Ombre Rose I wasn't sure about that. I just sensed the rose, or rather, envisioned the rose, but I never really got the scent of rose outright. Here I get a bouquet of mixed, sweet, spicy roses with a musky powder, that's blended very well yet I can still discriminate what's in it. The combined notes diffuse beautifully around me in an elegant, soft, powdery cloud (though not at a crazy silage bomb level). Even though the silage is low it is always present and something that I was not just aware of but could smell the whole time I wore it. Yet, as @Annabear pointed out, it's not an intrusive scent and doesn't scream PERFUME. People will just think you smell good. Overall, this is only slightly stronger than a fragrance mist, but unlike something like that, has great longevity where a few sprays lasted and could be smelled throughout the day. It really is very pretty and I'm finding somewhat addictive, as I've been craving it more and more lately. And while I've sworn off backups because of the already ridiculous size of my wardrobe, I just might make an exception for this.

Rose Poudre is everything @AnaMandy said it would be and I would like to thank her and Elena Prokoveva for steering me towards this fragrance. This is powder and musk. I own Teint de Neige and I don't think Rose Poudre and that one share much except that they are both powdery. Rose Poudre is like the finest milled dusting powder that money can buy. Where Teint de Neige is heavier and denser w/ lots of vanilla and tonka. Both are a throwback to another time and era. But Rose Poudre is a lot more wearable for every day since it is lighter. A musky rose dusting powder that becomes a tad mossy and just a bit sweet as it develops. Rose Poudre smells great upon the first spray but gets better and better as it develops. I see Rose Poudre as a winter/spring scent. One worn during those transition periods between seasons. But you could wear this every day and year-round. It is lighter than Teint de Neige and in my opinion Teint de Neige is more of a cold dead of winter scent. If you like powdery perfumes but don't want anything as heavy as Guerlain L'Huere Bleu or Teint de Neige, Rose Poudre is a really good way to go. A soft, dry rose and musk dusting powder perfume w/ moss and a touch of sweetness. Why this has so many dislikes is beyond me. Rose Poudre is simply stunning. I need to check out more from Bottega Profumiera.

No idea why this rates so poorly here, especially since there’s only one other person who has reviewed it. It appears a whole bunch of visitors have down rated it without leaving a review or reason why, so not really helpful, anyway here are my humble thoughts on this fragrance. Rose Poudre is a really lovely, musky, powdery Rose. It’s elegant and understated, it doesn’t smell synthetic or have any screechy notes. It’s the sort of fragrance you could wear on a plane as it wouldn’t bother other passengers, but you’d still be able to enjoy its beauty for a good few hours. Not a lot of projection, but reasonable longevity. Very pretty indeed.

This is very much my style. I agree that Teint de Neige is much heavier and denser, this is, in comparison, so dainty. It smells almost antique. Fine rose powder dust. I need it in my collection. +

This is a very pretty, powdery rose. It has a little bit of green-ness in it that keeps it smelling fresh. Smells like someone who showered with rose scented body wash and shampoo. As it dries down it leaves your skin smelling like it was just dusted with rose scented powder. Clean, and powdery, with slightly green rose. Understated and elegant.

this is Nivea body cream enriched with thousands of rose petals, powdery slightly sweet and fresh at the same time. the beast creamy rose perfume you have ever smelled! i love it so much delicate soft and romantic.

this is a kind of rose that I like a lot, very rich with the musk and oakmoss. kinda of old school but not outdated. a touch of vanilla and a little citrus. I don't get caramel but I don't care. love. sillage is big and longevity is long. please try this
