Bottega Veneta Pour Homme

I'm not sure I'd say that this is especially close to the original green Polo, but yes, I absolutely can empathise with the many people here who consider this is a more modern and perhaps more wearable take on the Polo idea, and no, in contrast to Polo, I might not wear this is in the depths of winter either. I'm inclined to see it as a spring/autumn, day/night fragrance. It's probably too busy for warm summer days and a little too--I don't know--soft or reserved for winter, at any rate here in Scotland. That is absolutely not a shortcoming. For me, the combination here of conifer notes, bergamot, leather, labdanum and probably patchouli makes for a resinously sappy mastic scent, with something approaching a bubblegum (or mastic/pistachio Turkish delight?) fruitiness, and a kind of sweet, sparkly, almost youthful edge in which I think the patchouli must play a part. I find the fragrance almost physically cooling, with a classy, cool ambience--no performance issues for me, but then I'm not looking to accost anyone's nose with this stuff--yet in my case there's also a kind of round skanky fullness at the heart of the experience. It can smell indolic like a dirty nappy to me, although I can't make much sense of that in relation to the notes listed. Much of it may be down to the leather and labdanum, but I also feel as if the pimento is sitting on my damn sofa there in the centre of the fragrance, cowboy boot feet up on the coffee table, arms outstretched along the back of the sofa, watching my damn TV with this cocky badass expression on its face as if it couldn't care less whether anyone thinks it's out of place, or has noticed it at all, and knowing that consequently, without lifting a finger, it pretty much rules the roost. I suppose that that facet of the fragrance has to remind me of Xeryus Rouge, which shares the pimento note. This is a scent combining presence with a kind of laid-back or worldly-wise confidence. With its blue-green conifer aura and its sweeter side, it does have qualities that might appeal to some young noses--but it's probably not for the young gourmand-lover or anyone who thinks their perfume should slap everyone else in the face for attention. This fragrance has been there, done that, and quietly harbours fond memories of your mum.

Yeni bir koku değil, iris bazlı birçok parfüm var, fakat Irıs Nazarena daha olgun, daha net, daha sesli bir parfüm. Bottega Veneta , Pour Homme bence "ince ayar" yapılmış parfümlerden. Bu içerikle , notalarla parfümler 80 li yıllarda yaygındı. Bence halen değerliler ancak değişen kültür bu parfümlerin algısına "eski" damgasını vurdu. Daha önceki değerlendirmelerimde de söz ettiğim gibi içinde biraz çam, biraz deri olan tüm parfümleri "berber kolonyası" diye tanımlayan bir nesil var. BV bu türde bir benzetmeden "ince ayar" ile kurtulabilir. Bir Pino yada Zino Davidoff gibi "ben buyum, yerse" tavrı yok. Çam kokusu yumuşak, deri neredeyse yok gibi. Yani sert tavırlar yok. Sakin ve yumuşak. Çok değişmiyor yani olgunlaşma süreci çok belirsiz. Belki ben fark edemedim ama olgunlaşmaktan daha çok "kayboluyor. Yani kalıcılık çok başarılı değil. Koku dağılımı ilk 1-2 saat makul, sonra deriye yakın devam ediyor. Benim hoşuma gitti. Eğer kalıcılık ve koku dağılımı biraz daha kuvvetli olsa favorilerim arasına girebilirdi ama bu hali ile sadece beğendiklerimden olabilir. Her yaştan erkek kullanabilir, hiç bir yaşta sırıtacağını düşünmüyorum. Modern retro bir havası var. Yani 40 lı yaşlardaki erkekler BV yi kullanarak biraz nostalji yapabilir, bunu yaparken "berber kolonyası" , "eski" gibi benzetmelerler de karşılaşmazlar. Yeni kullananlar çabuk bıkabilir bu nedenle 50 ml almalarını öneriyorum. Patchouli kokusunu alamıyorum, sanırım çok yumuşak geçilmiş. Şişesi çok şık. Özellikle 50 ml lik küçük şişe çok başarılı görünüyor. Fiyat makul, performans idare eder, 40 lı yaşlardakilere ise bonus olarak "nostalji" var.

I didn't expect that so many negative reviews here. I'm really in love with this one! At first I didn't like it. I was at a department store. I tried this one on the card and somehow almost immediately I found some thing stinky...(Before this one I tried several other scents) I gave it a pass immediately. However for some reason I kept thinking about it when I got back and after reading some positive reviews here, I decided to give it a try due to the concept I received. I bought it and tested it again on my skin at home. I found that the "stinky" smell which I detected at first time was probably just the pine with very strong performance. However it became smooth shortly and then came a period which reminds me the same feeling and smell in Dolce and Gabbana The one Eau de Parfum which I dislike.(I guess this is the reason why some people complain it chemical ?) Fortunately this period disappeared in a short time as well. Then became the most beautiful and elegant scent I've ever smelt! It is indeed very well blended! I found some people says it reminds Tom Ford Oud Wood on the page. I absolutely agree with that! Bottega Pour Homme is light yet truly profound whilst Tom Ford Oud Wood is stronger and bitter. Though they are on the same trend in my opinion. They both remind me the smell of oriental herb medicine store in some way which is not a bad thing. Tom Ford is more unique whereas Bottega is more wearable, versatile and classy. The performance of Bottega Pour Homme isn't bad. The longevity is decent, and sillage is only moderate. which is, however, makes it in a classy, non-offensive and delightful way. I have no regret to buy this one without testing it for long. More than that, I'm so fear that if they will discontinue it some day that I will need to buy more to stock up to make sure it will stay with me as long as possible. This is truly an underestimated gem! 10/10

An elegant, timeless scent which I'll try to always have in my collection, Bottega Veneta PH is a modern interpretation of a well-known accord, but with less audacity and greenness. Maybe even too little audacity though, and that's the first and probably only bad thing I can say about this one. This is a somewhat simple scent, driven by leather and pine/fir accords. You can feel both the pine needles and its tree and sap from the very beginning, and later on it becomes more leathery, while still having aromatic quality of pine note. While these notes can sound a bit heavy and potentially cloying, BV PH is very far from it - in fact, I would rather classify it as a fresh scent. For me, BV is a very formal scent, it really requires a certain age or experience to be properly enjoyed. With less than ideal longevity and a rather personal scent cloud after, like, an hour or so, it is no wonder I haven't gotten too many compliments wearing this one, especially considering my age as well, but ones that did are very dear to me, because they come from people that know me better, for better or worse. Also, I have to point out that I cannot even imagine this one being interesting for a woman looking for a scent for herself, unlike lots of modern male fragrances - and that comes from someone who considers pretty much everything to be unisex. To sum it up, I firmly believe that Bottega Veneta made a heck of a job here, because while this scent is very different to what people are looking for these days, it caught the attention of a lot of us. People who enjoy the fragrance school of eighties, but would prefer something less loud, can take this one and enjoy it. While I haven't had the opportunity to properly try other, more concentrated versions, I know I will try my best to do so. 8.5/10 for a scent I will always have, and if it had better longevity, it would be a higher mark for sure.

This is a very nice, very masculine fragrance. It reminds me a LOT of Prada Amber Pour Homme (also by Daniela Andrier) - not because they smell particularly alike, but because they are both modernized takes on timeless masculine scent profiles. Both Prada Amber PH and Bottega Veneta PH also read as soapy, clean, refined, classy, sleek, and grey. Maybe paradoxically, both also strike me as being boldly masculine scents that are somehow perfectly wearable for women. It's interesting, as I wouldn't say it is a scent profile I love, but I feel strangely drawn to the scent because of how well executed it is (I feel the same about Prada Amber Pour Homme). I can't help but think of my uncle (now departed), never married, total lady killer, who took a lot of pride in his grooming, and had a collection of classic masculine fragrances like Drakkar Noir, Le Male, and Polo Green. Bottega Veneta Pour Homme could be the metrosexual descendant of those scents on his bathroom counter. I get all of the listed notes, and especially a ton of pine-y, fir balsam-y, terpenic notes that lend an ozonic feel, especially in the opening. The base is leathery and soapy, almost a little like shoe-polish, and I get more of the patchouli than the labdanum. Not very sweet at all.

Masculine class in a bottle. Ulusia said it best when they said this "reminds me of good taste". Harking back to some of our favorite masculine scents of the past but with a newfound modern edginess, Bottega Veneta Pour Homme is one of the most satisfying and interesting masculine releases in years. It's also one of the most wearable. Boreal forests filled with pine and fir trees, accented by a fine leather note with traces of labdanum, citruses and a little patchouli are what I get from this. Not incredibly challenging or complex, but well executed and very pleasing. Imagine a leathery version of Tom Ford's excellent Italian Cypress sans the later amber drydown and you wouldn't be far off. Some harp on this for it's strength, but I've never experienced performance issues - I wore this yesterday and applied to my clothes it was still going and projecting enough for me to get whiffs of it even 16 hours later. Projection is moderate, but longevity is excellent. I should note that among non-fragrance heads this scent gets stellar ratings. It's a people pleaser similar to the way Bleu de Chanel is, but for many could be a much more unique and rebellious choice. Thumbs up, definitely a try or buy.

Very easy reach for office settings and times when you need a bit discretion. Good projection and a workday’s tenacity, yet very subtle. You will sometimes forget you are wearing it, but in the time of writing I get whiffs from the neck area 8 hours after application. The aromatic profile shares quite a few notes with Maisondieu’s Burberry London for men, but the style is certainly more Italian than English. It sits somewhere between London and AdP’s Ginepro di Sardegna, making it a very versatile option you cannot go wrong with. Nice balance of spice, freshness, lurking conifers, a touch leathery. I think it makes good sense to think of it as an Italian leather scent with nods to classic colonias. I get a bit polished animalic notes in the opening, but they are only a quiet backdrop together with leather, but yet so noticeable that I am surprised that no one else is mentioning it. They are applied very elegantly but still they make a joke of every assertion that it was to be a unisex perfume. Although I like many unisex scents that often even lean feminine, this animalic expression is one of very few that I would find straight forwardly off putting on a woman.

Opens with a blast of coniferous splendor. Beautiful blending of Siberian pine and Balkan juniper, with an added brightness via Calabrian bergamot. If this sounds like it could border on smelling like "Christmas-in-a-bottle", you are correct. Fortunately it doesn't, with the perfume artist(s) steering clear of this connotation in the dry down. Clary sage lends herbal edge, along with the lush Canadian fir note. The said Jamaican pepper note is lost on me as I was unable to perceive it. Leather is subtle, but balances out the overwhelmingly verdant accord of the aforementioned conifers. Labdanum offers a balsam-like note, which is slightly ambery in the drydown. Overall this is a nice scent, evoking a woodsy outdoors grandeur. I myself love the smell of freshly pruned juniper, cedar, pine (etc.) so for me this fragrance was a win. My only perceivable complaint would be its quick dry down time (wishing the opening juniper/pine accord lasted a slight bit longer!), which renders the scent quite low on silage. Wouldn't mind owning it as a body wash/shower gel as I imagine it would be quite refreshing. (105)

It seems to me that B PH is a somewhat underrated fragrance, since under that smooth and simple appearance a wonderful fragrance daytime use, where the aroma maintains a timeless character, even say classic, but with a young heart hides beating with great force. fresh and pleasant opening of bergamot that quickly evolves into a very aniseed aromatic according undeclared could be basil or anise that reaches the final drying and gives a very special character to B PH, various woods come with a note of pine marked and a soft leather very good quality for designer, at the start of the drying notice a slight imbalance when acting note a powerful ladano maintaining a tangy drunkenness composition and this can make it a little tiresome for sensitive noses, but without ever reaching the hot flash. All the combo produces a feeling of being in a high mountain forest surrounded by animals and large trees. A whole new classic, with very good quality to be designer, who has positively surprised by the sharpness of its composition and hopefully not go unnoticed and become more fragrance. Rating: 6

So I read many lists of BEST fragrances in fashion magazines and on the web, this not often spoke of in YouTube circle's item came up ALL THE TIME. It often was in the top 5 and written about on a level unheard of. I looked at the notes, and was baffled??? How can this be good? I read reviews and my curiosity made this a MUST HAVE blind buy. The issue was, discounters rarely have this in stock, and if they do, it is not that cheap. I waited for the 100ml tester patiently (it cost slightly more than the full presentation 50ml) and when it was available I got it. When it arrived, I took off the cap (yes my tester had a cap, fancy) and checked it out. My verdict, it is incredible! Did not disappoint, only issue is the performance being soft. But if your fragrance is for your own personal enjoyment, this one is hard to resist. I have nothing in my collection I can really compare it to, this is just a well blended classy cool weather (not cold or hot) gem. Every male fragrance lover should own this, period!

Just bought a bottle! Bottega Veneta Homme is fresh and green. Non offensive, not per se extremely recognizable, but very well executed. It smells natural and pleasant. Smooth and lush afe words that come to my mind as well. I can't see why someone wouldn't like this! I have had the association with banana when smelling BVH. Yes, you read that right: banana. Anyone else? In a good way, but still weird! :) I haven't had a proper wear yet (only on wrist), but the only downside I predict is below moderate projection an longevity. I hope I'm wrong, will report back then! 8/10 Edit: longevity is decent. Warning: don't overspray as you will get a butter-like smell, which isn't pleasant. It's the same butter smell I het with Dior Homme Sport.

Woodsy-piney, unique, unapologetically masculine, sharp, a bit dark and mysterious, confident - this is a top rate cologne which comes close to occupying its very own niche in the designer fragrance market. What's also cool about this is that although women find it sexy and alluring, there aren't any sweet goo-goo notes in it. It's not Dior Sauvage or a typical club type thing. It doesn't smell like it's trying to be nice. It just smells like masculine awesome. Think black Porsche. Or suit and tie at the symphony. Or wearing a leather jacket at a rock concert with a 10/10 young lady next to you. This is for healthy, fit, confident, successful guys - or guys who want to be like that.

I have to change my previous review, I originally called it soapy and forgettable, but in retrospect I am not sure what I was thinking. It does have like a fresher spicy feel with a light leather. Very confidant and elegant. I really enjoy the leather-pepper-juniper combo that gives it almost a realistic black pepper feel. The pepper I feel is more of a capsaicin spicy pepper than the sweet red pepper I usually associate with the word pimento, but could just be a language thing. Either way, nice and warm spicy and still with a clean feel. Doesnt project well or last that long, but smells great so I like to carry spray samples around.

It's masculine without overpowering. Safe but still manage Its unique quality. Opened with a piney forest scent and a burst of juniper and bergamot, followed by aromatic notes from sage and little bit spicy from pimento, and build up to a dry down of handsome combination of greenish labdanum, warm patchouli, right amount of leather in an immense of woody nuance. The Italian brand puts its DNA by adding detail of leather at the bottle neck, and weaving pattern that exclusive to the brand, called intreciatto technique, in the base of the bottle. I'm not really a leather fan BUT this is beautiful.Very masculine,refined,classy and due to the above very confident and enthused is how it makes me feel. This is probably my fave leather based scent to date of course mixed with the lovely Juniper Berry and I get some patchouli as I'd know that scent anywhere since I love it. Since I put this on ( 2 sprays on each side of neck and one on each wrist it has lasted me easy 5 something hours and women in the bank and shops were eager to chat with me. If you want to feel like a man and not a teen THIS is what you wear! I need to test it a bit more but so far. Scent 9.5 /10

Classic with a twist. 100% masculine. Elegance in a bottle. I love the fresh citrusy/peppery start as well as the cypress/pine notes. After a couple of hours the leather/labdanum takes center stage and it gets mellower after that. I would love for it to be more of a bomb, but then again it would be wrong for the office which is where I wear it most of the time. When I want it to project a little more and to last longer I over spray it (5 times) and it does the trick. Its my second bottle already and I will buy it again if it is available.

This is the highest quality, just omg great scent ever; that is gone in 30 minutes. Goddamn I love the smell. It is super niche quality with an open box, bargain bin at Marshalls staying power. I've been trying to give this as much love over the years as I possibly can but if you aren't applying it every few hours you will get nowhere. It doesn't even stay as a skin scent. If someone were to remake this and give it some lasting power 6-8hrs, doesn't even need much projection, just make it last longer; it would be a $300+ scent.

this is amazingggg! timeless classic scent in a mature way. i had 5 sprays in my neck and t shirt, i had no issue about the performance, trust me it's a great fragrance! i was thinking this fragrance is designed not for a beast mode but it gives a soft touch airy, aromatic, leathery, and i got some a dried vetiver at the dry down, i dont know where was it comes from, its so manly blended! projection : first 2-3 hours longevity : 7-8 hours the performance is above average, i swear

This smells absolutely fantastic and very herbal, dark masculine with hints of citrus, my ONLY complaint is that its kind of weak and doesnt project or perform well, you could get issey miyake intense for 1/4 of the price and itll last 3x longer with very similar scent. but ultimately very high end and intimate scent, I feel like i should have a trophy wife whilst looking over downtown detroit in my penthouse suite when I wear this. Very sexy and masculine and not sweet at all.

Checked this today and found it excellent....i love it....it's light, natural and very foresty. This is not a leather fragrance as i find it more towards pine and fir with some resinious light sweetness. I love this kind of perfumes that are not sweet or ending sweet after the initial foresty touch. You feel like you just cut and have on your schoulders a small fir as a christmas tree and the air is coming from the back. Excellent, not strictly unique, mature fragrance

Imagine walking through a dark pine forest with a brand new leather jacket on. A fresh and unique take on leather which makes sense since Bottega Veneta is known for their leather goods. The pine reminds me of my mother's workshop where she used to and still is making wreath's during christmas. All this with a herbal twist in the opening and a balsamic dry down thanks to the clairy sage and the labdanum giving more depth. I love this stuff, it's very nostalgic to me.

a really nice perfume in the aromatic fresh spicy category. It is not a perfume for winter as it is not strong enough - not dominated by leather and other strong accords. The perfume is well balanced and definitely works well in warmer seasons. It's not weak, as I can still smell it after 2 hours, but it works close to the skin I like to come back to it when I've had enough of new creations sweet perfumes and need a bit real masculine vibe

I absolutely love this scent!! It is the ultimate barbershop style fragrance with a slight coca cola vibe if you ask me! I heard the performance wasn't great on this so a sprayed a couple more times than I normally would and this performed great. Projected well for a solid 2 hours, and lasted a good 5 - 6 hours which was absolutely fine by me. I use it as a hot date night fragrance and it is perfect scent and performance for that!

I got this one for my boyfriends because i am in with this smell. My boyfriend doesn't use perfumes a lot and he is very fussy of choosing a right bottle of perfumes but i got him buying this bottle as he likes it too.. Yay! This is juz so attractive and elegant. Most of others men's perfumes smells too strong that easy to make my feel headache. But this bottle isn't. It's light and elegent but also very manly and attractive ^.^

Lots of pine, a wonderful and promising start for a male perfume, oozing maturity and class. Unfortunately the top notes disappear very quickly and it turns out to a skin perfume with just 1h of longevity. Quite disappointing for a fragrance from such a house and with this price tag. *This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

This has been my signature for years only realising now it’s discontinued thankfully i have a 200ml bottle to last. I haven’t tried any other bottega veneta pour homme’s o my the original This fragrance starts out a fresh pine and juniper, very woody fresh with some citrus, after that it drys down to some leathery notes. It’s not a spectacular amazing fragrance i just love it to wear everyday

I have an original bottle of this from when it came out. I haven't tried any new bottles to see if it's much different (or if there was a reformulation). I really like this. It is a masculine classic fragrance. I pick up a lot on the woody notes, leather, and patchouli. When I wear it I feel classy. It's a nice alternative to all the blue scents that are popular these days.

I tried bottega veneta pour homme extreme version, which has a good longevity and silage, the scent is very similar, but a little denser and more intense. I prefer the original version because of its lightness, despite of its poor performance. So I have a full 90 ml bottle of the extreme version, and I would trade it for the original version. Write ín private if you are ín.

Class, sophistication, noble, macho with a class, pride, confidence, calm, serene and elegant! The masculine master piece of our generation, period. The only leather perfume that is wearable from a perfumery art view! Because fragrances like tf or other leather based are scents and not perfumes, because wearing a leather jacket is a leather jacket scent not a perfume!

Very masculine leathery citrus perfume. Really elegant. In the same vein as John Varvatos' line but a bit more mature in my opinion. Performance is alright, nothing great. Can be worn at all seasons but summer. Day and night fragrance, and really versatile. For men older than 25, but preferably those between the age of 50 and 60, with a young soul. 8.4/10.

Unique, exudes confidence, universal in occasions to wear, and masculine. The projection is close to the skin and not a lot of staying power, but it is elegant and worth exploring for yourself. Woodsy - check, leather - where? I did not detect leather in this, but with or without, it is outstanding. Scent 9/10 Longevity 5/10 Value 7/10 Overall 7/10

I definitely get pine/fir/resin but no leather or patchouli. No matter. It smells beautiful but I have been a bit disappointed with the strength. However, wearing it yesterday and then going to the gym after work, mixed with a bit of sweat it started projecting like mad. Strange but pleasant experience. Perfect now winter is on its way

PINE! So good. In the house I grew up in, there was a big pine tree in the backyard so this scent hits close to home. It's so refreshing to have a modern release with pine being one of the primary notes. Thankfully, the leather note echoes in the base and does not interfere with the resinous forest-like nature of the scent. Thumbs up.

I don't know what you guys think of my idea but for me of all the perfumes I have, it is closest to prada homme intense. I'll check it another time, because I just received the package, but it is definitely not issey miyake sport....or boss... as someone mentioned. it is a sophisticated and mature fragrance. not for boys...

Spicy, damp pine with supple leather and bitter grapefruit. There’s a dry/powdery note that lends balance and makes it formal, mature, classy, intoxicating. A bright streak cuts through in an alluring way that makes you keep wanting to smell and figure it out. A professor's cozy, musty office that you have a crush on.

A luxurious high-end retro pine and leather cologne and very much does smell like you have walked into a Bottega Veneta store. If you like YSL Rive Gauche this will be right up your alley. performance could be better. I very much like the extreme version of this which is amped up but it has been discontinued!

Disappointed frankly. Beginning has the great fresh aromatic evergreen notes I personally love, but quickly dries down into a generic powdery floral note I can't quite put my finger on, but I smelled it in Boss Bottled Night, and Issey Miyake Sport, and was the primary note that made me sell both of those.

This juice is wonderful. Not tons of performance but the smell is totally masculine but not overbearing, and the blending of the leather and “forest” is impeccable. Comes to you from two perfumers that made Prada L’Homme and MB Explorer respectively (and many other hits) and this is another hit.

Beautiful fresh, woody, masculine fragrance let down by poor performance. Smells AMAZING for about 30-45 minutes, then sadly turns into a skin scent. It really does give off a windy, foresty vibe. The opening is just killer with a modern bergamot/pine blend. I just wish it lasted longer!

This is a wonderful leather scent ,the leather here is so genuine, smell expensive . If you are looking for leather based scent that is versatile and you can wear all year round and smell luxurious go for this one , projection is good and longevity is very good. Rate overall : 10/10

Since I utterly adore Bottega Veneta for women, this was a doubtless blind-buy for me. I cannot say that I’m not disappointed. Two words describe this one: beautiful and weak. Surely office safe, no one’s gonna smell it except yourself :-)

This isn't the greatest fragrance, but it is the finest in my view. It's well blended, simple, and truly a quality product that does not scream, because it is too smooth for that. I will add it to my fragrance wardrobe one day.

Finally got it after looking for a year for it ! It feels classy, natural, non offensive in a well blended way ; like a gentleman. It sits closer to the skin but sometimes a great perfume doesn't have to shout out loud ! 9/10

Leather note is the most dominant one and mingles with freshness of pine and juniper. It suits business/casual style and reminds me of good taste. I cannot imagine sb wearing sport clothes and this fragrance together.

I love this on my husband (he loves it too) This smells like a manly man, without the toxic masculinity haha. Class, wealth and modern chivalry are what I associate with this scent. It's a love from both of us.

Guys, I can’t believe how no one mentions the similarity with Amouage EPIC Man in the “Reminds me of” section. Amouage is a bit more stronger and sharper but 95% the same scent , at least to my nose.

A nice and manly leather fragrance. Now discontinued. The only downside is, it doesn't "mix well" with sweat. This perfume + sweat is quite an unpleasant smell, compared to other perfumes.

I have the 2017 batch and 2022 batch. Unlike other perfumes that were usually watered down, this one is an exemption. The 2022 batch smells almost identical to the BV Pour Homme parfum.

Man this fragrance reminds me of the old fougere barbershop fragrances. Fir, pine, juniper and leather = 100% masculin fragrance. Sheer class nothing else to say. I absolutely love it!
