Parco Palladiano II: Cipresso

This is one of my all time favourites and I was disappointed that it was discontinued, but glad that I received this as a gift from my partner years ago. Cypress Shadow from L'Atelier Parfum is by the same perfumer, and I think he, too, was disappointed that his cypress masterpiece was deleted, so he released the same one again for a different brand! It's an extremely close sibling - so close in fact that you'd be hard pressed discerning the two I think. If you're looking for a Cipresso replacement, or never got to try the original - try Cypress Shadow, then come back here and upvote the "reminds me of" ;) When the bottle was fresh, the initial burst of realistic lemony cypress was exquisite. There's less of that now that the bottle has aged and lost some of the top notes, but the green impression lives on, and the strength in the suave dry-down seems to have increased. This is the more realistic cypress fragrance for those who have not found what they've been looking for - and captures more the aura of the cypress tree rather than simply using stinky cypress absolute like Tom Ford's "old man" version.

I’m in Love! Just got a brand new unopened bottle on eBay for only $100! I’m so glad I blind bought it. I’ve been looking for a nice cypress fragrance. I had blind bought Salvatore Ferragamo Convivo, but it turned out to be a little too sharp and annoyed me wearing it all day. This Bottega Veneta II does showcase Cypress as the leading role in the scent, but it certainly is not a soliflore. I notice the juniper berries and cardamom others have mentioned. I also detect a little lavender and fig/fig leaf. The cypress is supported by other woods as well: cedar and sandalwood. Overall, the impression I get is similar to Lothair by Penhaligon’s, another beautiful scent and one of my favorites. The only down side I am finding to Bottega Veneta II is the longevity is weak. It fades too fast on me. Somehow Lothair lasts me all day and gets noticed with many compliments. This one wears closer to the skin and may be a better option for warmer weather months. Overall, I am very happy with purchasing this. The bottle is SO awesome. I am working on finding a bottle of Bottega Veneta I next!

Though it was a gift, I’ve already decided it’s a must-buy for my collection, despite the unfortunate news that it’s been discontinued. The bottle itself is a work of art—clean, sleek, and textured in a way that feels luxurious in the hand. It’s a perfect reflection of the understated elegance that Bottega Veneta is known for. Highly recommended for those who appreciate a well-balanced and sophisticated scent with a unique twist.

All the Parco Palladiano line are very nice natural smelling, much more so than you usually get in a designer line. This one is no exception and is probably one of my favorites of the lot. Opens with a mega natural, strong yet beautiful smelling cyprus fir note, really good. It doesn't quite keep that up forever but it does waft around nicely for the length of the fragrance. There is a light airy breeze of freshness around the entire fragrance with the ginger and coriander in there, I think this might be where the comparison to TdH someone mentioned below comes from. This certainly feels like fragrance J-C Ellena might have made. Very nice stuff. Worth the price? I'm not sure about that, but if I see this discounted I am more than likely to pick up a bottle.

This is a true masterpiece. Hard to believe something this good only has two notes... It lasts all day long & gives off more of a manly vibe but can see a woman rocking this. Projection is a perfect 3 to 5 feet & the longevity is through the roof! I'm definitely buying a full bottle & this will be a staple in my collection.

"the tree" This one is quite breathtaking. It smells like you are under a cypress tree and the sun just set. The humidity is high but since the sun went down it begins to get cold and all of the smells get a bit stronger. Literally it smells like you are there, it is very very literal and I personally like that. 9.5/10

Gorgeous, sparkly, spicy, fresh, green cypress scent. A winner for me! Perfect for the summer days or the holiday season if you want the fresh version of the Xmas tree! For those who know the other scents in that collection, this one is less dry than most of the other ones and a tad juicier.

Curious to know if this particular fragrance resembles Tom Ford Italian Cypress? Thanks

I've blind bought it as I thought it would be less green and more dark/deep woody fragrance. I was a bit disappointed as the cypress used here is too green and savory (think of chopped dill) especially in the opening, 30 mins later it starts to settle down and becomes less savory, and amberwood start to peak in, and I found the combination of amberwood and green note to be mismatched. I still like the quality and the freshness. I don't regret buying it, as I had it heavily discounted, but I don't recommend blind buying, and I won't buy it again. 6/10

The cypress note is very subtle compared to many other cypress focused fragrances that have tried. Cipresso is green and woody. Yet, it stays very light and airy. This is prefect for sunny causal days. FYI: I don't care what others say, the sillage is not enormous.

This is very fresh and nice; the cypress is on the breezy watery side as opposed to the usual fir-like kind, which is perfect paired with the hidden minty facet. It leans slightly masculine and is my 2nd-favorite from the collection :)

The whole line was ignored for years until the time of its discontinuation then people ( me included ) started digging into this line in anticipation of finding hidden gems before they disappear And here it seems it’s fitting for the fragrance to stop production For the price of the line no way it deserves the price I personally won’t pay cheapie prices for it Very weak and subtle Nothing special or different It’s green and airy Just a waste of money and time which are both very scarce and precious

'Parco Palladiano II' begins with a heeded rush of verdant splendor. Cypress leaf's turpentic qualities are highlighted in the opening moments of the fragrance, rendering a fresh and dry tonality. It has facets of freshly crushed juniper berries lending a bracingly cool sensation to the composition, much like a gentle, refreshing breeze through a forest of conifers. A heart of pink peppercorn balances the aforementioned evergreen notes, offering a subtle warming and spicy counterpoint. I notice faint traces of cumin and cardamom here, but together these "warm" spices never over power the delicate woody characteristics of the cypress. Upon the dry down, 'Parco Palladiano II' becomes smooth and rather linear with a base of nondescript woody notes. The full evolution of the fragrance upon initial application, during which the hyperrealistic cypress leaf's lush greenness lends way to the innocuous woodiness of the dry down, occurs rather rapidly. I wished this transformation occurred at a much slower pace as the opening burst of energetic cypress is highly satisfying. Overall, 'Parco Palladiano II' is yet another strong offering from this Bottega Veneta luxury collection. Easily unisex, the composition leans masculine due to its lack of any floral notes. The fragrance would wear perfectly in the cooler months of autumn and winter given its central focus of evergreen notes. As an "eau de parfum", its performance is somewhat disappointing. I found both its sillage and projection very light, remaining essentially a skin scent for the duration of its wearing. 'Parco Palladiano II' is suitable for both daytime and evening use, and would be equally wearable for either casual or formal occasions. If the ephemeral beauty of the opening moments of this fragrance lasted a while longer, it would be near perfection. In order to really understand this fragrance, one must truly appreciate the simplicity of it. It opens a litter bitter but within seconds transcends into a delicate almost feather like sparkling green composition. The beauty about Cipresso is its structure and how vivid the cypress truly is -- as It transports you to a gloomy forest after a heavy rainfall. You breath-in and sense the Kingdom Plantae all around you. And its in that moment you realized you just smelt life, nature, zen and peace. Beautiful fragrance.

Tried a tester of this masterpiece from BV and i must admit that i like this kind of scents which have a certain DNA which resembles Creed Aventus vibes and this is not very far from that, one can probably argue about the similarity between the two but again i am pointing out towards both sharing same DNA of fresh and green notes to be precise.

Very aromatic green scent, leafy, and not sweet, that one is more on the masculine side, with a strong herbal undertone..it has like a peppery vibe, present throughout the whole development..I don't know, I don't hate it, but I don't like it, I wouldn't even like it on my husband..not crazy about the watery spicy undertone..strange!!

Freshness, spicyness, greenness, woody and breezfull soft sillage, like the clean of the nature after the rain, unisex leaning masculine imo, almost watery texture and like a classical cypress spicy scent, simple with quality. Worth signature but the performance about moderate or a bit less. A likable scent imo and very nice.

This is the smell of the oils, when one rubes on their hands the leaves of wild Greek cypress tree. Oils rich of delicious, sun and salty marine air notes. The smell of the perfume is not clearly defined. Brings me back to insouciant times on gavdos. Cipressy, juniper berry-y, isoesuper-y

Masterful blend. Masculine. The best cypress scent ever. Too smooth and fresh. I usually use Aqua Di Parmas Cipresso, but I been reaching for this way more. 25 and up can were this. Better than Tom Fords old man version. A good blind buy and a buy for your collection.

Paco II Fresh piney scent that substantial. It is develop to woody side of thing. Cypress is authentic for a moment before transit to non describe green and soft woody. I think Cypress have potential to be in something better than this.
