Parco Palladiano V: Lauro

What a beauty this was! Another discontinued gem(!) I was making my way through the airport, anxious to catch my flight when a sales lady called out to "the gentleman in the crisp white shirt, who looks so stylish." "Daddy, I think that lady is trying to get your attention," my young daughter said. The next minute, she was standing between us, our arms locked and being gently pulled towards the Bottega Veneta counter. "What are your favourite fragrances and please don't say Aventus?" she asked. I mentioned a couple, then she correctly observed that I was wearing Terre d'Hermès and asked if I was familiar with the Parco Palladiano line, of which there were many. I thanked her for her time and insisted that we really ought to catch our flight. She grabbed a bottle, asked if she could have my daughter's wrist and sprayed a fair amount on her. "If you like how she smells on the flight, come back and see me, I'm the manager and will give you a big discount." With so many perfumes lingering in the air, I could barely make out the scent...until well into the flight when my daughter leaned in for a cuddle. I asked what she had just sprayed on herself and she said she wasn't wearing perfume, "only what the perfume shop woman sprayed" on her. Neither of us could remember what the fragrance was or who it was by; and my internet research left me none the wiser. 6 months later, I was back at the same airport terminal and made my way to the vast 2nd perfume section and asked the bewildered sales assistant for her manager and a few minutes later, a voice behind me exclaimed, "I knew you'd be back!" I found out the fragrance was Lauro (V) and true to her word, the manager gave me a nice discount. (Many thanks to Leslie @Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5, who introduced me to this fragrance. In hindsight, I should have listened to you and bought many more bottles).

Have a #1-6 discovery set of 10ml each, trying one a day this week... Really nice one this. Again, natural smell as expected from this line by now. Gives a real nice herbal tea like smell, sage and rosemary is quite obviously there quite strongly at the beginning and it gets warmer and spiced as it continues, where there is a touch of crossover with CdG Monocle series Laurel for a brief time. A light minty tea underneath all this (lighter than it was in Pera) gives a bright airy aspect to stop it being a turkey seasoning type gourmand :) and it gets warmer from the vetiver I expect the further it dries. Probably leans a touch more masculine over unisex imho. This one is bottle worthy for sure for my tastes, with the knowledge that this lasts a while but sits pretty close to the skin.

As I showed interest in this series of stunningly beautifull gemlike bottles, the saleswoman, enthousiastic about this range of excellency, kindly let me try all six Parco Palladiano scents. Wow.. These scents are exquisite and refined. They do exactly what they claim. They take you on a walk through an Italian spring garden. Every part of the garden in a different theme. Number V Is the herbal part of the garden. Briefly let your fingers slide along a rosemary twig. The scent lingers. Balanced with the many plants aroung you. This is amazing. Save up and buy any of the Parco Palladiano series. You won't be disappointed!

I obtained a decant of this after it was discontinued, and now I'm sad, because this is a really beautiful green aromatic fragrance! The notes are well blended, without any one dominating. The mint/bay/rosemary/sage combo is amazing, and is supported at first by something that smells a little woody (probably the labdanum, tea, and pepper). After some time the woodiness gives way to the vetiver, which lends the dry-down a juicier character than the initial spray, but it's never overpowering. Wish I could find more!

I love love love this fragrance. It is clean, fresh, buttery, very green, and elegant. I got compliments every time I wear it. People cant tell what I am wearing, and that makes me love it even more. It can be worn by women and men, though the masculine facet only makes it more interesting and unexpected on a woman, if you get what I mean. I adore this from the first sniffing and I was sad to leave the bottle at home in my previous trip due to its weight. Now I carry it with me in this trip, and that says a lot!!

This is a GORGEOUS fresh perfume for spring and summer! First blast you really get the laurels, rosemary, labdanum, pepper and sage. I love it! One of if not the most impressive fresh fragrances ever. It makes you just want to keep spraying it, but luckily this thing really lasts and settles down so fresh and smooth. No rough edges, and no notes that I do not like. This smells expensive (it is) but I feel that it's worth it. Definitely unisex. Bottega Veneta is class.

Discontinued. Was willing to risk a purchase off eBay which became flooded with testers at great prices. Projection is somewhat low but solid longevity as a skin scent, particularly on clothing. I like it as an end of summer and transition to fall fragrance. It’s more or less an aromatic vetiver not entirely unlike Guerlain with a dominant bay leaf note and mint component. Really good line, also have Olivo which is really good too.

Great fragrance, and even one of the best hot weather fragrances ever, but just because it’s discontinued doesn’t mean it’s automatically worth the $500 people are listing it for online. I’ve owned it and it really was tough to equate the $200ish retail at the time to the very short lived duration, despite the great scent. I would put it on before leaving for work and would be gone by the time I arrived.

Beautiful fresh, buttery green scent. Herbaceous in a very chic way, wonderful every day scent. When it dries down, it has a surprisingly fresh musky quality to it on the skin. Though better for the warmer months, it's not at all out of place in the colder weather. I think it's perfectly unisex, though I can see why many may feel it leans masculine.

This perfume smells heavenly, I even registered to give this one a special review. Moreover, its longevity is unbelievable. When I first tried it, the paper that it was sprayed on lasted for many days. It doesn't smell too herbal, but has a very luxurious smell. I think this is the best of Parco Palladiano line.

Spectacular. Natural smelling, elegant and subtle. It does remind me a little of Frederic Malle's French Lover with the blast of greenness at the beginning and the vetiver base. Performance is decent for such a green and natural-smelling fragrance.

This perfume convinced me that I like minty fragrances. It is so, so good! I don't typically like green fragrances (and this one screams green to me)...but I love this one! It is herbal and refreshing and engaging. Well done!

I really like it. It is simple, but works well. I'm quite accustomed with the smell of laurel, as I come from a country where it's used in almost every dish, and it is definitely here. Add to that a herbaceous, almost bitter rosemary, and a dash of black pepper, which on my wool sweater smells like incense. This perfume could've been a CdG easily, imo. The major drawback here is the performance; it's rather weak, but I've tried it on a very cold day. I'll give it another try once more and see. To me, this also screams fall(autumn.) There's zero sweetness here, which I also like a lot. It's really sad because it's discontinued; probably because most I tried in this range were on the dry/natural smelling side, and we all know that's not what's commercially successful these days. I'm shocked how much I'm into this fragrance. Usually, when I see notes like sage and rosemary, I'd be turned all the way off or at least try and find a sample if the other notes are interesting. I don't know what came over me, but I love the bottles in this line (not a good train of thought), so I'd figure I'd bite the bullet and blind it! Yeah, this year that has to stop. Although this blind buy was hella successful because I'm in aromatic, unisex heaven. I love how fresh Lauro is, but not boring or like spearmint gum. I get these great, calming wafts of refreshing fragrance throughout the day and that's my absolute favorite way to enjoy my frags in the spring/summer months. Great longevity too, so glad to have it.

An amazingly aromatic herbal fragrance; smells natural and probably the most masculine of the collection. The price point though...I'm better off getting Lalique Terres Aromatiques (They're only similar in genre not in smell).

We use a lot of laurel in Russian cuisine. It is an laurel smell - for me smells like spring soup :-). Otherwise: very unique, special, good for warmer seasons. Again price can not be justified for this line.

Bayleaf blends well with the other aromatics, and geranium (almost) takes it into fourgere territory. Overall, it’s a nice aromatic skin scent.

This is green fragrance, and really really dark green but surprisingly airy and light. In the middle note, when pepper kicks in this becomes more aromatic. Coming from bottega parco palladiano line, this guarantees a natural smelling and well made perfume. However, this isnt my cup of tea, especially considering its weak sillage and price tag - others in the line definitely have better performance.

This is similar to Eloge du Traite -- but without the pine and smoke. The note pyramid is similar also. The entire scent is basically just Laurel (bay) leaves, geranium, spices and sage. It's leafier and cleaner than Eloge, but to me, it's less interesting. Eloge, on the other hand, is denser, smokier, very reminiscent of campfire smoke near a wet forest.

Green, minty and a bit barber shop with low sillage and longevity. Better for men and more of an autumn or winter scent.

I also live in a country where bay leaf is a staple and the beginning is quite literally it. Soon enough laurel transforms into dried mint leaves and is then joined by a paper-woody smell. Fragrant recycled paper pack, heavenly infused by labdanum. Then, at the same speed, Lauro gets into totally incense territory, adding slight but convincing smoke to the picture, getting rid of the freshness. At one point, the CDG associations are correct: I was going to call it a summer kitchen cologne at first, when the summer shadows of a churchyard took over, although too timidly for what they are: this scent stays too close to the skin, compared to any other in the same genre. My skin just seems to eat all this good stuff in just half an hour with no trace.

This is an awesome scent, I feel its more masculine. The tea mint and laurels is exquisite. Daniela knocked it out of the park. My new go to scent now. This is breezy, green, herbal, and fresh. The smell of the garden and the Italian coast. Its natural and long lasting, lingers all day. I instantly bought this one. I always get asked what are you wearing, it smells good, or the latest you smell like a man. If you like Acqua Di Gio Profumo or Bottega Veneta Essence Aromatique, you will love this. This, Castagno and Cipresso is the best of the line for men. Go sample it and buy it. Its recommended for the collection and classic written all over it.

Amazing fresh spicy peppery summer scent! Smells like an Italian herb garden and I have had great compliments from women when I have worn this!! Very expensive though, I paid full retail £250 for a bottle, was it worth it? I'm not sure any perfume is, but I enjoy it.

Lovely green resinous scent, I'm getting loads of mint and labdanum on opening and then a tonne of herbs. I'm more of a resinous fan and less of an herbal fan, this one is mostly herbal, but overall a lovely scent, not really sweet, quite minty.

Paco V Almost aromatic green fougere. I like it, but slightly too lite consider the whole range offer. Also, this do smell like Laurels. But not in it true nature, it is harvested. Left on the drying rack.

This fragrance is seriously refreshing! The mint and laurel combo in Parco Palladiano V: Lauro is so unique and invigorating. It's perfect for a hot day or when you need a pick-me-up. Love it!

Reminds me a bit of Soul of the Forest by Margiela, only lighter and brighter/more feminine - less woody. Very nice but would work better on women I think.

Yep, it smells exactly like you put your face in fresh rosemary and sage. Really good bit not sure where I would wear this. 8/10

All the PARCO PALLADIANO collections have been discontinued. What a shame..
