Parco Palladiano X: Olivo

I'd be lying through my teeth if I said this doesn't have an aquatic component. Olivo has an impactful opening - sharp, watery, fresh woody aroma that mimics the smell of breaking branches in a orchard - particularly if you were at a department store overwhelmed by twenty other scents like me. Upon close sniffs notes of violet, galbanum and cedar become quite apparent. It does have a savory, synthetic overtone and I'm tempted to say both Iso E super and ambroxan are at play here. As the scent develops this barbershop base becomes more and more apparent, creating a "contemporary classic fougere" feeling. Ganymede is another one I tried recently that gives off of this vibe, but IMO much more successful by ditching the ambroxan and embracing the musk and immortal as its drydown and is more interesting than Olivo. I bought a bottle as I was swayed by the beautiful opening in the boutique, but realistically I could live with just a decent. Sillage and longevity are both superb.

"Savoury" and "Mediterranean" are the words that come to mind - a very interesting creation, which really does remind me of olives out of a jar (although I must admit I'm not sure I would have identified this if it were not for the name - oh the power of suggestion!) Salty, green and refreshing without being citrussy or aquatic; great scent for a balmy summer evening. This fits perfectly into the Italian garden theme of the Parco Palladiano series, and I wouldn't have been surprised if you had told me that it was a Jean Claude Ellena creation. I'm not sufficiently familiar with the smell of mastic to pick this apart from the other notes, but I know it can be controversial and the whole perfume is unusual so please test before buying. Highly recommended!

I'm not familiar with the scent of olive, but I did blindbuy this because so far the Parco Palladiano line doesn't disappoint me. This one is no exception. Though I cannot pick up the individual notes, but I can say that Olivo is in the same genre as Cipresso, it's green, woody, a bit aromatic, a bit fougere. A classic scent with modern twist. I expect this kind of scent from the house of Aramis. But that doesn't mean that this is bad. Try it for yourself, it's unisex leaning to masculine side. I got 8 hours longevity with strong to moderate projection.

Really beautiful idea of a savory olive scent which I believe was created with an immortelle accord. It doesn’t actually smell like olives or olive oil to me but it paints a lovely picture that captures the salty and fruity and translucent green of olives. Decent longevity and quality. I might like to own this someday. 4 out of 5.

I over spray it and I don’t care because I like it that much. Hot summer days or cold winter days. It doesn’t care. It just performs. Well blended and compliment getting.

This perfume ticks all the boxes, I really do enjoy the olive note. Very natural no synthetic. It’s sooo refreshing and alive!

After the wave of discontinuation hit bottega vendettas house I had to buy a bottle of this out of sheer curiosity and interest of uniqueness It was an incredible experience for sure The similarities are interesting to say the least Some see it as a olive oil / olives mix Some see it as black olives and olive oil To my nose I had the strangest interpretation In my lifetime I received a gift of someone who was very dear to my heart and the gift was was green olives paste And I could’ve sworn when I wore this scent that I was smelling the paste as if it was yesterday I enjoyed the smell very much Maybe every now and then I would spray it on skin for reference But I wasn’t so sure about smelling like olives paste for a whole day Performance is excellent

The rest of the PP line is more soft, natural and delicate. It's a beautiful line. This one is also a great one, but you can't describe it in the same way as the others. This is punchy, bold, and much more robust and thicker a fragrance profile. It reminds me of something Tom Ford might have in the private blend line than these Bottega. Strong opening of nice natural but heavy dry woods and a heavy dose of the mastic. This is where a bit of the TF feel comes in, think something along the lines of Vert des Bois. Peppery dry cedar and patchouli underline this with just a touch of sweetness at the edge giving the cedar that fresh cut feel. Very nice and I think the most obviously masculine one of the collection to my nose.

Man, this is GOOD. A linear fragrance that puts the salty, juicy olive fruit front and center, supported by the leaves and flowers of the olive tree. This fragrance smells unctuous in a way I’ve never experienced before. I truly sense the fatty, thick, golden oil extracted from the fruit along with the rustling leaves and delicate blossoms swaying in the breeze. These elements all come together to surround the savory olive fruit as the focal point. Luxurious and stunning. This is a winner. Sadly, I can see why Olivo was discontinued: I doubt there are too many people out there dying to smell like an olive tree. I, on the other hand, am here for it!

My collection currently stands at 33 or so bottles plus about a hundred samples. Olivo is unlike anything else I've experienced. It softly projects a comfortingly warm, dry, musty, flannel like muted middle green, full, smooth and opaque but not cloying, with with a barely perceptible woody, subtly spicy sweet tinge akin to celery or caraway seeds. Unless an acquaintance has actually spend a summer pressing olives, they will not be able to identify the scent.

Olivo has a gorgeous opening, an oily, green woodiness underpinned with mastic. Its savory and mouth-watering, with a pastoral texture and a salty translucency. This rapturous, unctuous beauty grows drier over time, with a vetiver coming through. Then comes the Iso E Super migraine and the ambroxan malaise. FML. If only the opening could be grafted onto a new perfume without the BS.

This started out with a warm, sweet, and slightly dusty/tannic wood scent, maybe oak, which reminds me of a note from Byredo's De Los Santos. It is indeed salty/olive-y, like olive brine. But most of all it smells like celery. Not a fresh, crisp celery, but a warm, moist, slightly funky roasted celeriac root. I could still faintly smell that celeriac on my arm the next day after sampling. It's not a bad smell, just not what I personally would choose to add to my presentation in this world.

Parco X Unique! Olive realness, you could almost feel the oiliness from this fragrance. It is not very woody tho, smell like olive fruit. Might be good for pizzeria. ==== Parco X (Extension 1 on August 13, 2024) I am slightly unsure, is my Point of View towards Parco X Olivo is authentic but I still toss my coin as I am unsure, do I enjoy... First, Parco X Olivo. doesn’t really work like a woody scent on my skin, it is salted olive with the soft green, bitter - Fougere like support. Salty, but not aquatic. During the as scent progress, the leather show up slightly more prominent and scent turn the wheel more like a classic leathery chypre (something like Histories des Parfums, the Sadism something one). Another fragrance that I recall. Is Noir by Night, by Aterlier des Ors. The material that mention as Carvier in that, is something that mention Olive here. I believe it is leather material with that salted carvier. Olivo, is masculine in my humble opinion and it is cross over between classic and modern. It is not old, but it is just not easy edible fragrance. I wish to venture this realm, the bitter and leathery frsgrance. The classic gents. I will stick with this, a little more. Eventually, I could come up with my conclusion. To be score.

I have been to Andalusia several times since my childhood and this fragrance captures very realistically the smell in the air near big oil press factories. It does not smell synthetic as I have read in other reviews. It is just the smell produced by pressing big quantities of olives. It's a very strong but natural smell at the same time, there is nothing similar to it. Cannot say it smells good or bad. It's an interesting one, but not a perfumery smell for sure. I do not imagine myself wearing a scent that smells so realistically like that. However, all what i've said is based upon testing it on a paper strip. Maybe in the skin is different, and I am curious to try. This Parco Palladiano line is very difficult to find and test, but none of the ones I've tried disspointed. Big thumbs up for the whole line :)

I sought this out after noticing a gorgeous “olive wood” scent in Punta Ala and wanting to explore more fragrances with the olive note. I blind bought it based on my enjoyment of the VIII Neroli from this line and was pleasantly surprised to recognize the same delicious savory effect. On initial spray it is rich, complex, green, marine, savory, herbal, woody and spicy. There is just a hint of sweetness with the tonka bean, which accentuates the salt. This leans to the more masculine side for me. My skin tends to amplify cedar and patchouli, so I would prefer less of those notes and don’t think I will wear it on its own, but will layer with some of my fresher fragrances for added depth.

I like that this is Masculine, a little old school with a modern twist. It reminds me and is similar to the 1994 Dolce & Gabanna Pour homme and one of there recent releases, only Olivo is more potent. You get what it says, Olive as far as the scent goes in a good way. Olivo has lots of Sillage. Its overall a very quality fragrance, but mediocre. This will appeal to Mature men more. Try others in the parco line, Castagno, Violet, Cypress, Lauro and Neroli are the top scents in this line. These are ones I would purchase and will.

Beautiful green herbal scent. Not overly herbal, but galbanum is very present (also vetiver later on.) Freshly cut grass smell with lots of provincial vibes. Sweet enough to be unisex, but you really do have to like herbals for this one - although the focus is more on greens and woods. Very unique, good one for the spring. I don't get a distinct olive which in my view is more oily and thick. This is more fresh and green.

It doesn't smell like olive olives like in a salad but the olives are definitely there. it's a different kind of green very pleasant and nicely done until you get to the drydown and the remaining is your typical cedar-patchouli-vetiver generic meh every other fragrance carries.
