Fève Tonka de Canaima

Another beautiful tonka almond fragrance! Ironically, tonka was never a note I favored as it can be too powdery at times and I only enjoyed it as a supporting note for it's vanillic qualities. The fragrance that turned this around for me is the now infamous and extremely rare Amande Tonka from Elie Saab. Feve Tonka is another one that solidifies by new found love for this note, especially in combination with a good almond note. Here the almond is syrupy, sort of like the sweet syrups used in barista drinks but it is beautifully balanced off by the powdery vanillic qualities of the tonka. Sandalwood brings creaminess to the composition and labdanum, an ambery depth. I can pick up the florals here - a pretty rose blended with a much softer violet. All the notes are anchored together in an inoffensive patchouli. There is something boozy about it, to my nose anyway and while this scent definitely bears qualities that lean gourmand, the florals and the amber make it... darker and more exotic. Dadier and Boucheron knocked this one out of the park! Now, this fragrance does bear some similarity to Tonka Imperiale from Guerlain however, it is different enough to stand on it's own. The floral notes in the former sets it apart and makes it more interesting to my nose. The latter is still a gorgeous scent but the tonka and almond are slightly different - more powdery and combined with the aromatic notes of rosemary and pine, the scent profile takes a different direction. Feve Tonka is also a stronger scent and has more of a presence while Tonka Imperiale is softer, which is typical of this line from Guerlain. Overall performance is moderate to good, lasting about 4-5 hours and then continuing as a skin scent. To sum up, Amande Tonka still reigns supreme as my favorite tonka almond scent but Feve Tonka is a beauty and definitely, one worth getting your nose on.

Fève Tonka de Canaima is an another wonderful new fragrance by Boucheron luxury line with more exclusive and expensive editions! I thought it could be a sweet and Tonka focused gourmand scent, but I was completely wrong. The fragrance is not sweet or gourmand in any way. The main player here is the note of Bitter Almond - powerful, thick, dominant with natural character. If you love biter almond with slide medicine undertone - this is your fragrance. There are some other powerful notes that make the whole composition very rich, interesting and unique. To me, that's the green-mossy patchouli and the balsamic-resin notes. This magic mix of deep and sensual notes gives more mysterious and Oriental touch to the composition. You could ask - and what for the vanilla and tonka??? Yes, they are here, but on my skin they don't give me the typical sound of sweet vanilla or sweet tonka. To me, these two notes gives only power, richness and more creamy, more rounded texture to the whole composition. In some way, the combination of non-sweet vanilla/tonka vibe and the almond, reminds of Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous. But they are not the same. I prefer Fève Tonka de Canaima. Only for the Bitter Almond - slightly it reminds me of L'Erbolario Mandorla, but again Fève Tonka de Canaima is different. The rose note is not playing big role here - it gives only more smooth, creamy and unisex character, but is far from being an important moment. Final words: Fève Tonka de Canaima is a great new brave scent with wonderful Bitter Almond focus! Some people could be disappointed due to lack of sweetness, but for niche heads it will be a very interesting scent. Bravo and excellent work by Alexis Dadier!

Feve Tonka de Canaima is what I would personally liked Velvet Tonka from BDK to be! This is instant love for me! I would go as far as to say that if you’re interested in getting a tonka bean scent in 2024, don’t get Velvet Tonka which smells very vintage and dusty, get Feve Tonka! It’s less than half of the price and it’s a giant (luxurious looking) bottle, very addicting and mass appealing. Safe blind buy even for people who don’t like violent. I am not the biggest violent flower fan, but occasionally, and in Feve Tonka, it’s beautifully blended and doesn’t stands out, mostly just adding some powdery nuances to vanilla, bitter almonds and tonka beans. This is beautiful. Smooth bitter almonds, sandalwood, creamy vanilla/tonka beans, some whiffs of deep rose and clean patchouli mixed with soft, powdery violet and warm, comforting ladbdanum. Simply intoxicating scent! I have never tested Guerlain’s Tonka Imperiale but after getting a bottle of Feve Tonka de Canaima, I feel like I am missing out on an even better (or at least higher rated) tonka bean scent. Performance is not mind blowing on Feve Tonka, it’s a softer, closer to the skin type of scent, but lasts well throughout the day. On clothes clings until washing. I got my bottle from a discount website, so at least for what I’ve paid for, this is phenomenal value for money! If you’re on the fence about it, don’t be, it’s worth it! This entire line from Boucheron, La Collection, is freaking amazing! I own four bottles from the line and as soon as I can find the tuberose, vanilla and rose focused ones, I’ll buy them without even thinking twice.

Very similar to BDK Velvet Tonka but without the texture that makes Velvet Tonka smell like luxury body oil/lotion. FTdC opens with bitter almond, slighty marzipans but nowhere near sweet enough to be. It then moves into the Tonka which is powdery, slighty smoky/leathery with hints of semisweet chocolate; which I believe is coming from the patchouli. I haven’t gotten to the dry down yet but I’m hoping the labdanum makes a heavy appearance. It’s not a beast in projection but the two sprays on the back of my hand keep making it’s way up to my nose. I don’t have to go to it so I disagree with it being a skin scent. I don’t smell the Violet or rose, no lipstick accord here but they could be attributing to the powdery texture. The more I smell it, the more I like it. Just like Velvet Tonka, its not what I was expecting, which was a Tonka heavy gourmand. Edit: I can’t believe my luck but I was able to purchase a 75ml bottle of Guerlain Tonka Imperiale. After comparing the two, I can now smell how sweet the opening of FTdC is- where TI opens with the amazing herbal/ coumarin FTdC is fuzzy black cherry/almond. Now it’s more Marzipane and the labdanum shines more with more wears. I think this and TI are the superior Tonka fragrances- not including Tonka Sarrapia

So, I recently became re-intrigued with almond-centric fragrances. I love Xerjoff Italica. Yet after steadily wearing Italica through 3 x 100ml bottles, I felt I needed a break. Decided to purchase some large samples-decants and/or new, unopened (or tester) full bottles of specific almond fragrances. Feve Tonka is a huge WOW for me, it really is. I love this fragrance! Feve Tonka opens with ethereal, translucent, ephemeral almond-floral notes. On skin, the perfume morphs into a huge vanilla-tonka fragrance with a warm, slightly powdery, floral, vanilla, creamy sandalwood, tonka base. I recently sampled Une Nuit Nomade Chemin d'Amande. And while I like the fragrance a lot, the overwhelming almond-brioche-pastry smell was a bit too dense for me. I felt suffocated while wearing the fragrance. I LOVE beast mode fragrances. But I felt self-conscious walking around with Chemin d'Amande emitting from my skin. Not a great performer, Feve Tonka delivers in a soft, romantic, feminine, ephemeral way. While light and airy, the listed notes rise for a few hours after initial application. Silage is not great. Perfume wears for about 2 hours on skin, So happy I purchased a full 125ml bottle at a great price! Love it!

I work with tonka beans so I’m very familiar with the smell and I was totally shocked the first time I smelled this. Is the first time I actually smell tonka in a fragrance, is outstanding and beautiful, you get some almond notes and mix together you can fell some bitter cherries is like a bite of a cherry macaron in Paris and then after you get some powdery notes making it even more beautiful . The longevity it’s fine but it could be better even with a short longevity you have a good silage, I’m totally fine re spraying it during the day cause is a beautiful start and a great dry down that you will definitely want to experience over and over. The prices is also a good point to consider is not as expensive as it could be

Wow. This is my most successful blind buy ever! This perfume is essentially if the top 2 scents in the "Reminds Me Of" had a love child! It has the same powdery Sandalwood + Almond quality from Elie Saab's Amande Tonka, but the tonka in this perfume has much more of a cherry facet that makes it lean slightly closer towards Tonka Imperiale's tonka note. It eventually leans closer to Amande Tonka in the dry down tho, so overall this is more of an alternative to Amande Tonka than Tonka Imperiale. I can't speak on performance yet, and my nose gets nose blind to things pretty quickly, but being a little over $100 for a 120-ish ml bottle? Definitely worth it!

Powdery bitter vanilla in the opening morphing into sweet-er (but not all that sweet) powdery tonka dominated drydown, gently balanced out with some balsamic qualities from the sandalwood. Overall not a great longevity and projection, so don't expect some "beast mode" gourmand here - it is more on the subtle, intimate side. Excellent quality of the scent and natural ingredient smell - overall an excellent pick for tonka heavy scent appreciators. Value was also excellent for me - i find bottles from this Boucheron collection often for around 65 to 75 euro for a 125ml.

Cherry almond macaroon - deeper than Guerlain’s Tonka Imperial, and more to my liking. There’s not a lot of sweetness in this one, the almond makes its presence felt right from the start, and although it verges on play doh territory, it doesn’t quite cross the line. Great projection and all round a wonderful gourmand at a bargain price for a 125ml Tester from Fragrancenet. I’ll be wearing this one often during the cold months now in Sydney.

Oh yes... phenomenal. Almond goes away quick and you’re left with this absolutely hovering aroma that is indeed a bit fleeting. I’m a sucker for good performance but here im able to overlook that its still a bit underperforming because of the sheer sumptuousness of the composition. Crossing fingers that it opens up with oxigenation and gets 1 to 2 hours more, wouldnt expect more than 7h from this.

Wow, I really really love this. This is such a pleasant bitter almond/ tonka scent that settles into a soft vanilla, not too sweet, not too powdery. It’s super smooth, and yes it can easily be interpreted as safe and not exciting, but it’s also undeniably refined and balanced, at least to my nose. Absolutely lovely.

This is perfect. If you love BDK velvet tonka and Feve Delicieuse you’ll love this too. Not as strong as Feve Delicieuse and of course no cherry- it’s softer. But still great projection and decently lasting (still testing.) To me, this is very cozy and comforting. A great one for fall!

Utterly gorgeous. To me, it occupies a space between BDK Velvet Tonka and L'Artisan Bois Farine. Maybe also a little bit of Lorenzo Villoresi Musk too - a sweet, delicate sandalwood aspect. Beautiful.

I am so glad that it's not only me who smells Vanilla Sex from Tom Ford here. I know the mentioned perfume got lots of hate but strangely I started liking it for it's almond. The trick is to wear it lightly and only when you're 'out of the shower'. Otherwise it can get that urine kind of WCs smell that all are screaming. Now, enough for Vanilla Sex as it's probably a copy or let's better say an inspiration of Fève Tonka. The bitter almond together with tonka beans on it's base reminded me of the years where Poison Girl by Dior was my favorite vanilla option. Now it's reformulated, it still has the same character but it's so badly linear in a way the magical vanilla/tonka dry down is not available. I hate it when I comment on the differences (even the bottle is missing some details) while people who never experienced the original perfumes (before reformulation) will think we're crazy. FT from Boucheron is so close to what a real tonka bean extract smells like. Boozy, vanillic with cherry/almond nuances. Although it's perfectly mixed with notes that suit tonka beans (rose, almond, sandalwood that gives a true umph to the perfume, explaining it's niche quality/price tag) the bitter almond stills the show. To my nose is like a whiskey that is non alcoholic with woody undertones, a generous bitter almond and an ambery heart that makes it absolutely unisex and why not a part of a layering cocktail. It worths some attention and it could impress even the coldest heart during a grey winter...

I was heartbroken that Guerlain discontinued Tonka Imperiale and was looking for a scent from the same family. Feve Tonka is a child of Tonka Imperiale, l'artisan parfumeur Bois Farine and BDK Velvet Tonka, having received the most DNA from Bois Farine. The issue I had with Velvet Tonka by BDK was that though the opening was excellent, after an hour it felt like a hand cream. Feve has a softer profile, not as sharp as Guerlain. Also, I feel like Guerlain is suitable for more mature audience, whereas Feve Tonka could be pulled off by any age. It is unisex, but I would say for a man it would be better to layer something woody on top. It is too cute and sweet to be rocked by a masculine individual. Last but not least, let's talk about performance. It has NO sillage. It sits so close to the skin, you won't even finish your coffee before the scent vanished from your surroundings. I am yet to test it on woolen clothes, but so far I am not impressed. Many people in the comments complained that the longevity is BAD but I thought since I am a generous sprayer, this problem would not touch me. Oh was I so wrong... Overall, if you are about to get intimate with someone, this is a nice scent. Otherwise, I cannot see this being a good daily companion. Props for a 125 ml bottle though. The manufacturer probably knew that it is a weak scent and it would need to be constantly reapplied hence more juice will be needed :D

This was nicer than I was expecting... It doesn't smell cheap or synthetic, and while it isn't a HUGE performer, it does MUCH better than its closest rival which would have to be Velvet Tonka by BDK.. the bdk is very nice but with REALLY poor performance by comparison... With regard to comparisons to Guerlain's Tonka Imperiale, I could honestly see some people preferring THIS over that, as the Tonka feels a BIT more authentic here than the Guerlain, but that Guerlain projects and sticks ALL DAY... however when you consider price there's no thought involved... This is STILL available at discounters for UNDER $100... Tonka Imperial is more than a car payment... Literally. AND... If you're not going to worry about price, then let's at least acknowledge that Tonka Sarrapia is wayyyyyy better than Tonka Imperiale...!! Fêve Tonka de Canaima is the best Tonka out there for the price and... Might even be better than the BDK anyway....!!

#622 in my "Tour de Fragrance" The guys in the crowd are more likely to have tried the original boozy version of Bentley's "For Men Intense." This is that scent minus the citrus. This is the fourth in this Boucheron line that I've tried out with a decant from FragrancesLine.com, and so far I've enjoyed them all. They aren't too pricy, which is nice, but the performance is middling. Not a lot of projection, but if you're content with subtle and picking a scent that only someone you're being intimate with get's to enjoy, this works for that. This is kind of in the "BR540 Extrait wannabe" camp to me. And there are good clones of that scent out there for under $50 like Al Haramain Amber Oud Ruby, and even under $20 like Alhambra Baroque Rouge Extrait, both of which which I like a little better than this and both of which perform better. So this is a nice scent, but not a bottle buy for me.

As a certified patchouli hater, this has a very prominent patchouli note to me. But weirdly, I don't hate it here. Sweet, nutty, spicy, tonka-laden patchouli. Not overly powdery to me, it's even *slightly* fresh to me for this profile. There is something here that feels just ever so slightly masculine here, but I think that's my brain revolting in the presence of full bodied patchouli. I don't mind wearing this, but it probably won't be a reach for me.

Fève Tonka de Canaima is a true ode to the almond, embodied by an opulent and enveloping tonka bean. From the first notes, the perfume imposes itself like an olfactory pastry: a sweet and comforting treat reminiscent of a frangipane straight out of the oven. It retains its elegance, carried by the finesse of its woody and powdery facets; it is an artisanal pastry where each ingredient is in its place. Nice.

This is great and it's very similar to Fève Délicieuse & tonka imperial. FT is definitely the more unisex version of FD with it being less powdery and lil less sweet. Not sure why Boucheron fragrances haven't really been on my radar until now but this particular line ive now tried 3 of them and I must say im pretty impressed . Performance is great and being 125 ml bottles id say is a well worth the price.

This is nice creamy, nutty and a bit sweet. To me it’s a nice everyday fragrance for the fall. I don’t really get the florals until the late dry down except for the heliotrope, that’s present since the beginning. I don’t think it’s formal at all. I do like this a lot more than feve delicieuse, that one is too much baby wipes.

If BDK Velvet Tonka and BDK Wood Jasmine had a baby this would be the child. It’s has the Tonka aspects of Velvet Tonka and the powdery dry down of Wood Jasmine. It may not seem like it’s strong or projects but babyyyy people will smell you especially if you do a decent amount of sprays. I really like it.

Very sweet and a bit boozy. It is a rich and mature gourmand. Smells expensive but it’s comforting at the same time. The drydown is a bit powdery but nothing overwhelming. I think it’s very pleasant, especially in Winter. This is like a more complex version of Girl of Now.

Sweet Almond, Tonka, Vanilla Sandalwood mix. On my skin this scent behaves a bit like a ghost, its there, gone, there again, and so on, in a nice way. A bit skin close, I think. Like it a lot.

Well this smells like the La Rive Vanilla Touch. I always find funny how expensive parfumes are so loved and the unknown dupes are perceived to be just meh.

Smooth, sweet, luxurious but also quite boring. Its a very good scent nonetheless.

Fève Tonka de Canaima leans a bit too masculine on me. No almond softness, just straight-up tonka that smells like the plain soap men in my home country used in the 80s/90s—post-war, tired, utilitarian. Not the “luxury hotel soap” others mentioned. I love Iris de Syracuse, Tubéreuse de Madras, and Rose d’Isparta from this line, but sadly not this one.

Smells like freshly washed hands with some luxurious bar soap and eating an almond pastry right after. I would personally not want this but I am sure some people might appreciate it

This is dense and sweet cold weather cozy fragrance. It does resemble Guerlain’s Tonka Imperiale in terms of the vanilla-tonka accord. If you love its tobacco dry spin, slightly green opening and its understated classic appeal, Feve Tonka is much heavier on creamy sandalwood, which is supported well by a creamy patchouli. The patchouli is similar to the one you can find in Van Cleef & Arpels Patchouli Blanc and the more mineral Bvlgari Splendid Patchouli Tentation. This is the base for the almonds - delicious marzipan paste. The florals aren’t distinguishable and the labdanum only serves as amber-like slightly earthy element grounding the composition by giving it density while keeping it from becoming too syrupy or sickly. I like it. Performance seems great, but I’m not seeing myself using up an entire 125 ml bottle. From the entire collection I find the sweetness of FT to be at the level of Tubereuse de Madras. If I have to summarize my perception of this perfume - it’s a well performing unisex marzipane+patchouli combo on tonka+sandalwood base amber.

this doesnt remind me of feve delicieuse at all, that is decadent, thicker and spiced, a literal different scent to me infact theres a hint of medicinal cherry in feve tonka, which steers it away from something smooth and warm like scarlet poppy or rich and high quality like feve delicieuse- this is quite airy, not that warm, and is almond but heavily characterised by that medicinal thing or lets just say maraschino cherry ( the bright red decorative cherry on pastries and cocktails that is medicinal when u bite into it)...that being said, this reminded me the most of scandal le parfum (without the salted caramel) from memory, which is a synthetic baby wipes scent, way more synthetic and louder than this, but i love this genre so i love both of these i dont mind the cherry thing at all but just saying for those who do, it might prevent it from hitting the spot for u// the most delectable warm, yummy soft almond ive ever smelt is in TF rose d’amalfi, im yet to find an almond perfume that is just the almond in that style without the rose

I enjoyed this powdery, tonka, vanilla and violet blend but trying to declutter redundant fragrances in my collection. I have a barely used 125ml bottle for sale on Mercari. Name is Ms. Chi.

This is very cheap and synthetic smelling. In no way a replacement for any Guerlain. Specifically, I missed out on the Shalimar Millesime Tonka and was hoping this would smell similar. Wah!

I agree with Klonoa07, imho this is better than Feve Delicieuse. FD, to me is baby powder and leather. De Canaima is sweeter and smoother and all round just a prettier fragrance.

Soft powdery almonds tonka beans... This is slightly dusty yet powdery almonds with sweet vanilla. It's delicate powdery. Interesting.

It smells exactly like black cherry. I am confused that I did not see that note here but this is a cherry scent
