Citrush

I am utterly, completely in love. I blind bought it as a novelty, basically as pride merchandise. I never tried the older versions of this fragrance so I don't have them as frames of reference but here is what I can tell you. The sillage is intimate to moderate. You aren't filling a room as long as you aren't overspraying yourself, but I can smell it on me and I keep getting really pleasantly surprised. The longevity is decent. I was still detecting it about 5 hours in without putting my nose to my arm. The opening is a massive lemon BOMB. Comparisons to cleaning chemicals on the opening are both fair an accurate to what Citrush is trying to replicate, if you know anything about the history of poppers. That citrus overload does settle into something much less overpowering, though. The pomelo really comes through. It's citrus still, but less overpoweringly so. The mint comes in and makes it super cool and refreshing. I don't get a ton of musk until a few hours of wear, but the pepper comes in basically the moment it dries and adds this nice spice to it. It's a blue fragrance, though and through. I'd put it right next to Bleu de Chanel and Light Blue. And of the blue fragrances I've sampled, it's my second favorite, only beat out by Bleu de Chanel. Boy Smells' price point is super affordable for what you get, imo. You'll be able to get some Blues for cheaper than this on grey market sites like jomashop but I think this competes with Bleu de Chanel in terms of quality for a much more affordable price. I have never had a fragrance so quickly become one of my favorites. I really hope this becomes a permanent member of the line or, if not, at least comes back next year for pride. So good.

This is my new favorite fragrance. I saw a tiktok where someone said that they used up their bottle from 2024 and were so sad that they could never get a new one. Needless to say, when I saw the re-release I had to try it. It's incredible. Every note is perfect. I don't use those words lightly. It isn't for every season. Summer is the perfect time to wear this, I doubt it will be used later on in the year. If you're on the fence, you won't regret it. I'm surprised how little coverage this is getting in the community, it outmatches most of my collection.

This is so sexy... super juicy and fresh on the top with beautiful complexity from the mint and pepper. Gives me mojito vibes. The skin scents on the bottom are sooo sensual and make the whole thing feel a bit more soft and intimate. Love the Rush concept and branding and I was expecting it to be loud and raunchy because of that. Not a bad thing tho! More like a few summery cocktails and a smooch on the dancefloor, rather than huffing chemicals at a circuit party :P

Sexy, salty, musky. Smells like a good workout or like coming home after dancing all night, sweat still baked into your clothes and vodka sour still on your breath. Really adore this one, a perfect clean dirty, but it is polarizing. Probably will become my favored errand-running or pre-workout morning routine scent for the summer.

I am not a citrus person, I got this in the exploratory pack and I’m SO glad I did. This is amazing. It’s very citrusy and clean but in such a unique way that I do actually really enjoy this scent. I still probably won’t buy a full bottle for myself, but if you like citrus do not hesitate to buy.

Omg this is sooooooo gooood. It's fresh and light. The pomelo is so bright and I get a tinge of cold from the mint note. I also get the black pepper. Smells nothing like p0pp3rz IMO, but it's cute to have something inspired by such an iconic item. My mood has improved just by putting this on!

The marketing for Citrush won me over, but I bought this one blind. (I don’t normally blind-buy fragrances, but my local Boy Smells stockists don’t carry this one.) Does it smell like Rush? No, not really, but it does smell like a lovely citrus fragrance. It's perfect for summer.

i have the body spray cuz i couldnt buy the perfume yet. this is sooooo yum. ive never done poppers so i couldnt tell you whether or not it smells like poppers or not but i'd doubt it.

if this juice was in a Louis Vuitton bottle... people would go crazy for it. i like it better than LV Pacific Chill. very musky, citrus, fruity fragrance. sexy and addictive.

It’s bright but gives me the impression of LV Pacific chill rather than poppers.

ETA: Ok, so I brought this on a summer weekend away to Lake Michigan. I don't think I've ever gotten as many compliments on a fragrance as I did this one. A group of women passed me in the street, got down the block, and then turned around and ran towards me to ask what I was wearing. Multiple shop owners or restaurant hosts throughout the weekend complimented it. This could be a new staple for me; I definitely feel hot wearing it! I like this a lot. I never tried the original 2024 formulation, so I cannot attest to any similarities or differences. What I can say is that this does feel like a spicy, musky, citrus that I was hoping/expecting. The mint, terpene/cannabis, and black pepper notes augment the citrus rather nicely. It's not so adventurous that it isn't suitable for daytime, but it does definitely smell like your light, airy, bright citrus that you might be expecting for a more office-ready scent. The musk dry down reminds me of the musk dry down in the original formulation of Vanilla Era (of which I haven't tried the 2025 relaunch yet), another fragrance which had a strong presence of spice (black pepper in particular, if memory serves?) so it does have a bit of that OG "risky" vibe that Boy Smells is/was known for, to me. Is it as provocative as the source material might imply? No. But does it fill a hole in my citrus fragrance wardrobe? Absolutely. Also, I don't get the hate for the new packaging. I think its fun and, now owning 2 fragrances in the line, I want to complete the rainbow, so to speak.

I really like this!! I didn't think I would, but I'm so glad I listened to those who recommended me to just go for it. Citrush is Boy Smells' limited edition launch for Pride. It's based off of the smell of poppers. Citrush starts off vibrantly, I'm sure to recreate that "uppity' feeling poppers might produce. The lemon and pepper are prominent upon opening, but once it sits for a minute or so the pomelo really starts to come out. It's super lush, I didn't know what to expect with a pomelo note but it's like if a lemon and a guava had a baby. It's refreshing and subtly sweet. It's super musky. The black pepper starts off strong, obviously, and I don't know how they did it, but it dries down into like a musky just-cracked pepper in the background as the mandarin comes through. Fragrantica missed the terpenes note in the middle, so there's a subtle "weed" smell to it. It's not prominent so I wouldn't worry about it. The mint is beautifully subtle. I really do love how lush, citrusy, musky, and woodsy this is. It's very well-blended and full-bodied.

This is a really beautiful scent. Bright, fresh, juicy pomelo & black pepper. A little sour and funky from the mint. It does come across floral, although there aren't any florals listed in the notes. There's also something a little aquatic about it. This is not a photorealistic scent, but it's well blended, fun, and intoxicating!

I was worried it would smell like the sniffer stick lol which is why I got both, but it's its own scent and the perfume is much more wearable. The marketing for this was a little wild lol but I'm here for it because I love gay people

Very green. Definitely masculine leaning, but still unisex. I got it at a very good price, seems Boy Smells has really lowered their prices especially with the Holiday sales. This is the first thing I've tried and I'm not super impressed. If I had paid anymore for it, I'd be disappointed. It's not terrible, a green citrus. Like an underripe lemon. There's something creamy underneath it, that almost smells like a doll. I do get the melon too. I'll need to try this again in summer, but right now it kinda gives me a headache.

Citrusy sweaty armpit heaven! Perfect blend of dirty and fresh. Sweating into a nice deodorant. Spilling a vodka soda all over yourself. Awesome. Pit sniffer approved.

Opens with a burst of citrus that is deliciously heavy on the mandarin (sits at the top for me, rather than the middle as described) and a sprinkle of lemon. And then...in a shocking turn of events...it climaxes (pun slightly intended) with a pungency that I can only describe as one strikingly akin to Secretions Magnifiques by ELDO. Not sure if this rings true for anyone else, but it was true on my own skin, and I definitely did not love it. But then again, I suppose this is logical considering Citrush’s conceptual aspirations! In this middle, it is raunchy, sensual, and dirty— lovers, stained sheets, and glistening skin(s). That sensuality persists, but its severity is whittled down, and it becomes significantly more palatable (to my nose) by the dry-down. Here, it’s softened and cooled by the mint, but the spark kept bright by the black pepper. A cool warmth. I’m back to enjoying it. Do I love it? No, but I’ll sit with it a little while longer. Aftercare takes time. :)

Citrush is incredibly fresh and wickedly enticing in a way that feels almost instinctual. I have the body spray, and the projection is surprisingly powerful—clean, bright, and alive without being overwhelming. It wears beautifully on skin and feels tailor-made for summer, or for those close, intimate moments when you want someone leaning in just a little closer. One reviewer mentioned that it smells like sweat embedded in clothes after a night of dancing—and honestly? I get it. Not in an unclean way, but in that raw, human, end-of-the-night heat kind of way. The kind of scent that lingers on someone’s neck and makes you want to keep sniffing just to figure out what it is. It’s refreshing, subtly sexy, and effortlessly wearable. For the price point, Citrush is absolutely worth it—easy to love, easy to reach for, and dangerously addictive.

A really nice fresh/floral citrus scent that is nicely blended, but a bit ephemeral... I have both the 2024 and 2025 formulations and they smell identical. Obviously, this fragrance is intended to serve as an *interpretation* of the essence of the product it seeks to emulate. It is a rather gentle and inoffensive interpretation. Bright but intimate, this is a great easy daytime summer wear. There is a slight discrepancy between the notes listed on Fragrantica and those listed by Boy Smells. The main discrepancy being that Boy Smells does not list mandarin and lemon as notes. I think the pomelo note is driving the "citrus" element. If lemon and mandarin are present they are definitely in the background. Overall, this is a nice and joyous, albeit somewhat simple, fragrance. A very good value.

To my nose this just smells like citrus followed by BO. No complexity. I love grapefruit and was hoping for that note but the pomelo was too lemony for me. Not impressed and prob won't wear again . I really wanted to like this brand too bc it seems LGBTQ+ friendly and the marketing is top notch. Glad I bought the small bottle.
