Italian Kush

I second anabanana’s review below Contrary to what the “main accords” on Fragrantica may lead you to believe, I wouldn’t really consider this a weed-first fragrance. I get a very green opening from basil and patchouli, and the cannabis note is more leafy than smoky. I think the accords should be (in order) Green, Citrus, Herbal, Patchouli, Cannabis, Fresh, Woody. I haven’t been able to find this easily, only in one Bloomingdale’s location. But I think this is really nice, easy to wear, and the candle is great too. Boy Smells is clever for their use of kush in the name, even if it doesn’t really smell like Kush... “mom, it’s the cologne that smells like weed, not me!”

Savoring the last of my travel spray of this. I don't wear it often because it's polarizing (the ganja's strong here, y'all), but when I do, there's always one person who asks what I'm wearing. I loved the candle iteration of this, too. I haven't been to Italy, but to me this succeeds in capturing the romaticized image I've concocted in my mind of what it would feel like to smoke a joint on the Amalfi Coast.

This perfume is really lovely and smells like a fresh summer day with the hint of cannabis. I've worn it in public and no one can ever identify the cannabis note- I always get "you smell so fresh and clean, like a fresh shower and toothbrushing" or "you smell like kitchen herbs". It's bright, energizing, and refreshing. Truly a unisex scent and a great choice for summer or spring.

Oh man where do I start? This was my weekend driver (basically anytime I wasn't at work). I fell to my knees when I saw it was discontinued. I still have a mostly full candle and bottle but I am afraid to use the remainder so there it sits as I long for it. So herbaceous, a little funky. I felt like it was such a complex and effortlessly cool scent. It will be dearly missed.

absolutely addicting and so complex. The open was so in your face and weed-y then it settled into the most beautiful woody, mysterious, fresh scent which lasted for hours. I even bought this for my 70-something year old mom because she loved it so much. Such a unique frangrance. I broke the bottle on accident and now its discontinued :(

I really enjoy this smell. The top note is definitely limoncello, creamy and alcoholic. After It settles, it reminds me of when I was in high school and used to smoke weed with friends and blow it into a toilet paper tube stuff with dryer sheets. Clean and weedy. Eventually there’s a slight incense vibe, the perfect cover up.

intoxicating, citrusy, and herbaceous. the weed smell isn't as strong as most of these reviews say! i can't identify at all in my travel spray or the full size bottle. my favorite thing i've ever smelled in my life. i'm not a religious man but i have prayed for this to be brought back more than i'd like to admit.

this fragrance is so versatile it’s very lush and green and refreshing but the dry down brings out the resinous labdanum and woodiness of the fragrance

On paper I should've loved this. Basil and pistachio are some of my favorite notes and I've enjoyed the rest of the Kush line (and cannabis notes in general). At first, I thought this would blossom into an herby chypre-adjacent scent, but it went downhill after the first spray. I kept trying to give it a chance, but the drydown became quite sharp and cloying (a throat-irritating hit, like hwhatever described). I went in expecting a fresh botanical blend but all I got was stems and seeds. Gifted it to a friend and it smells great on her, so maybe Italian Kush and I just don't get along; I'll stick with Cashmere Kush instead.

This is a very fun and adventurous fragrance that instantly puts me in a good mood. So playful and memorable. It is PERFECT for spring. Italian Kush smells like a lush vegetable garden. Hints of citrus keep it bright. It is green, vibrant, and naturalistic. After several hours it transforms into a creamy sandalwood scent, really taking the wearer on a journey. I’m glad I own both a full bottle and a travel spray, but I’m going to be gutted when I run out. It’s so, so, so good. Boy Smells’ choice to discontinue this fragrance was a huge mistake.

It smells like the title, a kitchen where someone has made some good food. Some guy is smoking kush, and I wish he wasn't, because then I could enjoy the citrus and herbs that are in here. I don’t even like 5 of the notes listed here, but something about the execution makes it amazing.

Actually very pleasant, green, citrusy, fresh, with a healthy dose of basil and with a bit of marijuana smell in the background, but it doesn't smell like you just smoked a joint if you are worried about that.

It’s not “genderful” at all. It’s straight up old, sweaty male. There’s a pungeant cannabis smell that slightly irritates my throat like a joint does, but it fades away quickly. Next comes sour limoncello and rhubarb, then rather lifelike basil and you are left with pepper and a LOT of musk. The longevity is pretty good though.

If you think this smells like good kush, you're smoking garbage. This is has some limonene terps with a heavy dose of cedar. Smells like a fancy Glade plug-in the opposite of the dank kush I enjoy.

Boy Smells' most green and fresh scent...I think? It definitely has a charm to it, but I find a lot of Boy Smells to come across a little too full of surprising, funky note pairings. The result feels a little clunky sometimes, but they do feel unique and very care-free because of that. It's one of those brands that I appreciate for having a well-defined personality, but whether that really represents you is totally subjective. For instance, choosing a limoncello accord over a simple bergamot one is just fun. The melon, limoncello, and rhubarb effect continues into the dry-down with a hint of pistachio that positions this as a mild gourmand in my mind. It's not actually that sweet when balanced by the sour herbs, but it does have a slightly jammy weight to the base. Overall I also get a very forward mint note that borders on associations with toothpaste or cleaning products. The sour cannabis and herbal facets save it a bit by turning towards some realistic plant aroma, but it's still a little jarring and sharp. It sits next to something that reminds me of melted sorbet. That's where the freshness ends up- a little bracing and citrusy, with a herbal semi-gourmand twist in the background. Personally I think it would get a little cloying after an hour or two, but I respect the vision. I like the cannabis accord a lot, but I'm not as into the other stuff they've paired it with. The mint will be a big factor for most people.

This one smells so weird and so interesting. It doesn't smell like anything I've smelled before. It opens herbal and weedy then slowly transitions to dry sandalwood with the weedy smell still in the background. There is also a butteriness/cheesiness in the mix. It's so complex and chaostic that something new pops up each time I wear it. I blind bought this because it is on sale and to get free shipping for Flor de la Virgen (also a weirdly good one) but this one turns out to be so good!

Complex and FUN!!! Layers well with anything green and fresh, the cannabis note is very earthy, patchouli-esque. Layered with Heretic Dirty Lavender and Byredo Oud Immortel.

At first spray I thought “hmmmm..this smells like toilet bowl cleaner.” Once it dries down it becomes quite nice and fresh.
