Sugar Baby

I was really surprised by how much I like this fragrance. My sister and I were trying out random scents in Sephora and I ended up getting a small size of this; I adore it, in the bottle and on my skin both. For me, the sugar cube smell is the most forthcoming, but it’s not a sharp, crystalline sugar scent—it’s more of a spun sugar, like a flavorless cotton candy. Very “puffy,” almost; it’s cloudy, maybe even a little heady, like a silk-robed gentlewoman in a smoky parlour giving a long exhale of some heavily-dosed pipe of tobacco and opium. Not that I get those notes, specifically, but it evokes an incredibly dizzying, romantic, yet almost unsettling musky sweetness. I suppose this is more of a generic scent than some others I’ve tried (most recently I’ve been wearing Imaginary Authors’ “The Language of Glaciers,” which is delightfully off-putting and enticing in equal measures), but I still find it somewhat unusual. It almost evokes a sugar-coated spiderweb in my mind. I will say, I don’t get any citrus (I was shocked to see that this allegedly has a grapefruit note?) and only the faintest honeysuckle. It’s almost pure hazy sugary musk for me. That said, I do really enjoy this scent. I look forward to wearing it particularly in creepy, chilly early winter months.

Im a gourmand girlie through and through, but this is one of the most unexpected LOVES I’ve ever encountered. ‘Sugar Baby’ is a simple classic composition thats so perfectly sweet you’ll want to grab for it day after day. My partner actually bought this for himself but I just fell head over heels on his first few wears. We think our appreciation for ‘Sugar Baby’ stems from the striking resemblance it has to one of our favorites, Ellis Brooklyn’s ‘Vanilla Salt.’ Regardless, sugared musks and florals isn't really our forte, but the blend is just that perfect. I adore how the sparkling Grapefruit accent zings this up and doesn't take away from the other delicate notes in the DNA. Delicate and airy, but still impressively endures full 8hr work days for me. This is routinely on sale for under $40, but rumor is thats because its being discontinued. I’ve no exaggeration purchased all 5 of mine on TikTok for only $20 per bottle, taxed and shipped. Amazing value and effortless giftability 😇

I always avoided buying from this brand because I don't like their name. Honestly I kind of hate it and I hope they rebrand. But ultimately a name doesn't impact how good their fragrances are. I saw Sugar Baby on sale and the notes sounded really nice so I went ahead and bought it. I loveee this perfume. It's sweet and sugary and citrusy, balanced with an initial floral freshness that dries down to a sweet, sticky musk. It doesn't smell plastic-y to me, but I suppose there's a synthetic quality to it. I find it to be uplifting and I just keep spraying it just to smell it, even when I'm not wearing it. It seems to last decently well, too. I really hope it's not actually being discontinued! It's not the most incredible perfume ever made or anything but for whatever reason I REALLY like it Edit: I got the full size from TT shop for like $30 but it's OOS on there now. I think it really is being discontinued :(

I am in LOVE with Sugar Baby! It’s a sweet fruity floral with a bit of spice from the Lily. It just smells so amazing with my body chemistry. I sometimes find certain fragrances with honeysuckle to lean a bit sharp or sour but not this one! I personally find it to be a unique scent. I have tried hundreds of perfumes and there isn’t anything I could really compare it to. I love that Sugar Baby lasts almost all day on my skin and even longer on clothes. I also think it would be great for any season.

sweet & fresh with a hint of warmth, very nice for spring and some summer days when is fresher! the initial spray is a tiny bit spicy but floral, then you get the citrusy and cleanness of it almost as shampoo-y in a very nice way. and for the dry down you get all the sweetness plus white flowers. very nice & feminine ✨

I am OBSESSED with this fragrance 😍 it has a very similar DNA to Glossier You but with a sweet note. It's a perfect every day fragrance for year round. I have 2 backup bottles because I'm afraid it's getting discontinued 😭 grab it while you can. She's beautiful and comforting 🫶🏼

This is a slightly spicy and sweet floral that layers great with other scents! It's not too sweet and can be sweetened with a sweeter scent like vanilla bourbon by Nest and it's not too spicy and can be spiced with a scent with woody sandalwood notes.

This smells like a babydoll from the 90s. Like, it’s almost good, but there’s a distinct rubbery-plastic note that follows the fragrance from the first spray all the way through the dry down. If you told me that this was the actual Bratz collab scent, I’d believe you without question. I think it’s the grapefruit note, possibly as a result of mixing with whatever musk they use. Something about it just reads as plastic on my skin. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just unexpected. Other than that, I get almost no honeysuckle, which is the main reason I wanted to try this in particular. It’s mostly sugar, citrus, more sugar, and plastic. It’s not the worst thing in the world by a long shot, but it’s not giving what I was hoping for. ETA: Okay I just broke this out to try it again, and now I suddenly really like it??? It still smells like a babydoll, but suddenly I’m just... okay with that. Girl I don’t know, scent is subjective, just do whatever.

Citrusy opening, opens strongly with the grapefruit and floral, but the grapefruit fades within the first 5 minutes and the scent feels much more manageable. The middle is strongly of freesia. On the dry down, the sweetness appears. Not to say it wasn’t always sweet, but the saccharine comes through. It’s relief in a way. It still feels loud for me, but not because of the sweetness but the sweetness feels balancing. I find myself now wanting to fan myself to extract more of the sweetness. I like the sweetness because, as other reviews have noted, it’s a generic sweet, a light cotton candy without the photorealism of an actual cotton candy smell. Its non-offensiveness is what I like about it. It’s not sweetness tied to a fruit or vanilla, it’s a free-floating sweetness, like walking past a candy store. Further into the dry down, the sweetness appears a bit more honey/brown sugar as the flowers flow into molasses.

This is good, but not sure if it’s for me yet. Will need to test a few more times, but it is almost a bit too sweet for my body chemistry. I’m not a gourmand lover, and this one is borderline too cloying for me. I was super intrigued because I looooove honeysuckle and Lilly and I was really hoping it would be lighter than it is. Unfortunately, it’s more heavy on the musky and sugary, sticky notes. I should have just assumed sugar would come through strongest based on the name, but you live and learn! I will say the dry down on my skin is a little like Daisy by Marc Jacobs meets Princess by Vera Wang.

This scent is super faint to my nose after after over-spraying, but from the whisper of it that I can smell, it's simple, airy, musky, and sweet. I don't detect any honeysuckle but the freesia is there! It smells like really distant flowers wafting in on a breeze. The grapefruit comes through entirely as lemon. To me, this is a watercolor, super faint version of Kayali's Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar.

It’s sweet but that rubbery plastic note threw me off! As a girly girl who had tons of dolls growing up it doesn’t remind me of doll heads as some say but that’s why scent is so subjective. It’s a like for me not a love and that’s due that rubbery plastic note that stays throughout the longevity of the scent. I don't have anything like it at all in my collection so I’ll keep it.

This reminds me of a sweeter version of Vera Wang’s Princess from the 2000s. As a 30 yo, it’s a bit youthful for me, but it’s fun if you want a sweet, lasting scent. The dry down really brings out the honey on my skin.

This reminds me a lot of You from Glossier. Very pretty, light, musky skin scent that sits very close. The price point is pretty good too it’s a welcome addition to my collection!

This is the first iso e super perfume that I like. The intense woodiness I get from iso e super is well balanced with all the sugar (and vanilla, it definitely has some vanilla), the grapefruit, and florals. But the iso e super functioned like a top note and faded an hour in (along with the citrus). Despite being sugary sweet, it smells fresh and light, and a tad lactonic on me. Something about the opening is very faintly giving expired lipstick, stale cigaret smoke, and smooshed ant, but in a pleasant way?? - I think it might be the "water lily". I guess the sugar baby in question is a smoker wearing a lot of lipstick and her abandoned breakfast; a half grapefruit w/sugar sprinkled on top, has attracted ants! Edit 10/10/25: Wow! I'm surprised I liked this one, bc I tend not to go for particularly sweet frags, and this one is literally called 'Sugar Baby,' and has a sugar base note, plus I, so far, have disliked anything with a "water lily" accord in it. Sidenote, i'm impressed w/myself for correctly identifying iso e super! I had to google to make sure I wasn't talking out my ass, but it is indeed listed as an ingredient (Tetramethylacetyloc-tahydronaphthalenes). P.S. if you wanna know what iso e super smells like, sniff Amber Vanilla by 7 Virtues (that is, if you can smell it, some ppl can't bc it's such a large molecule, like ambroxan). I'm gonna wear this and report back! Cuz this might be the one, of the whole discovery set, that's FBW. Very surprising! Based on vibes & notes, I thought for sure it would be Hinoki Fantôme or Violet Ends, or even Woodphoria, but I'm just not digging those like I thought I wood... >:] Okay, I wore it again, and it's VERY light, a skin scent, and it left yellow stains on my teal-blue shirt. Plus, after an hour, I become completely anosmic to it after one sniff. On the dry down, I can only detect it on the first inhale, then no matter how hard I breath, or how close to the skin I get, it's invisible! Literally have to wait at least 5 mins (and keep my nose away from it) before I can detect it again. And what I do detect is so mild. It's definitely more pronounced on clothes, but the same anosmia issue. Also, there's not much to it and it's a little generic, and too subtle. I really like it, but I can't smell it most of the time, so IDK if it's worth committing to... And if the anosmia is so quick on the draw and so complete, other people won't even detect it... so like, if I can't smell it, and they can't smell it, what's the point? It's giving emperors' new clothes. Edit 11/10/25: I still like SB, but it's a tad too lily forward and sweet for me. This wear I couldn't really detect the iso e super woodiness I experienced the last times, also I didn't find it light, and the sillage was very big for one small spritz. Also no anosmia this time.

I got this one on sale at the New York City store, and I really, really like the initial spray, very clean, sweet, and musky. It gives me a somewhat generic, sweet, musky, mainstream perfume vibe. Other perfumes from Boy Smells are very unique, but this one is not. It’s not bad, and I don’t regret getting it. I could wear it before going to bed or while doing chores around the house. I don’t see myself wearing this outside, on a night out, or for outdoor activities, this is more for self-enjoyment for me. It is definitely very sweet and leans feminine. It gives me a Diptyque Fleur de Peau vibe, but without the depth diptyque has and this one is SUPER sweet. Overall, it’s fine, nothing special.

I got this as a sample in the newer version of Boy Smells’ exploratory set. As a few others before me have mentioned, this strikes me as fairly generic- like something a young girl might wear to a school dance. It doesn’t really share the same note profile, but this is really reminding me of Ellis Brooklyn’s “Sweet” for some reason. I’m not really picking up too much on honeysuckle or grapefruit, just the sugar & musk. I don’t love it but don’t hate it; definitely wouldn’t buy a full bottle, though.

I’m coming to terms with the fact that a lot of boy smells just reminds me of things a middle schooler would wear, which is honestly most stuff at sephora. This is another sweet scent, doesn’t really wow me.

My first impression of this was that it smells like Pink Sugar by Aqoulina minus the licorice note, which might be more wearable for some but comes off a bit more uninteresting to me.

Candied honeysuckle. Very sweet. Clean musks.

underwhelmed :( I get a bunch of honeysuckle, for sure, but I'm not sure if I would regard this as a sweet-forward perfume, nor is it worthy of its name... it's definitely a weird kind of green musk? the longevity of this was just sad, I had high hopes for boy smells 2.0, as someone who fell in LOVE with vanilla era (OG)'s longevity and complexity. But, this was gone from my skin in an hour. after the 10-15 minutes of honeysuckle i just get a bunch of musk. which would be nice, if that's what I was looking for. but the marketing and notes are misleading to the actual vibes of this fragrance. sad to see such a good brand seemingly cutting corners.

Just got my bottle delivered and it’s pretty at first with the honeysuckle but then I get a male-leaning smell of Barbasol cheap shaving cream. Going to let it fully develop before I decide to keep it or sell it.

Sweet and powdery with some vague citrus. Drydown is toasty and caramelized. This reminds me of Mix:Bar's I'm a Musk - a cheap frag in the overpopulated "your skin but better" genre du jour.

Hello, generic perfume, nice to meet you.

So yucky. I thought i’d like it—I have body lotions that have “sugary” musk notes and grapefruit, but this smelled so old. The grapefruit and the florals create this awful, sharp, tangy rotting citrus scent, which clashes badly with the sugary muskiness of the base. The dry down smells good, like a clean, sweet scent, but the first impression is so granny-like. Just overbearing, unsweet sharp florals and weird citrus-y notes. I’d get this if you like the smell of older floral perfumes, that get sweeter the more it dries on your skin.

This smells just like fondant, you know that dense cake icing dough that grits in your teeth and looks like a sheet. It surprisingly doesn't give super floral, with the honeysuckle note and I don't particularly smell any grapefruit. What I mainly get is a sugared musk, like they said but it also has a cotton candy sort of burnt sugar note. The Iso E super here is reminding me of Glossier You. This one has been in my recent rotation a lot lately, and I just need one sprits for the whole day, actually sometimes opening the bottle and sniffing it is all you need for it to last on your clothes...it's that STRONG. It is one of the few vanillas I would say are ok to wear in the summer heat.

Looking at these notes, I had no doubt the blind buy would be perfect for me. I wanted an aquatic sugary musky honey suckle. I don’t like much summery type perfumes because they usually have lemon, coconut and/or heavy florals so it’s made my task impossible to find the perfect summer perfume. Unfortunately, this didn’t do it for me either. I don’t notice anything that was super sugary or musky however it smells woody to me. I think this may actually be a winter fragrance for my nose. Maybe I have to let it macerate first. Definitely going to keep trying though, not going to resell just yet.

I love the doll head comparison. It doesn’t make me love it or hate it but I did notice it. It’s very similar to Clean reserve skinny that one had a smell like a pack of fresh opened printer paper and I just hated it. This perfume is so weird and dynamic and I love it.
