Woodphoria (2025)

First things first: I've never smelled the original and actually prefer this bottle design to the other. This is the androgynous, effortlessly cool girl who's a little bit of a loner by choice since she has a cool artsy job (think fashion editor, museum curator or Afro-house DJ) that often keeps her social against her will. She's in her late 20s-early 30s and her plants are her babies. Raised on the bustling streets of the Northeast, she’s found peace in the misty mountains and overcast skies of the Pacific Northwest, her new (and likely forever) home. The fig + coconut combo is a dream, wrapped in the earthiness of cedar and sandalwood, sprinkled with the sweet spice of cardamom. This is a beautifully warm, lactonic scent that dries down musky and slight sweet. Three words: sensual, effortless and velvety.

LOVE! Smells like a nice bonfire during a fall night, hanging out with friends and being carefree. It's so effortlessly fresh and woodsy, with a nice touch of creaminess that gives it a more unisex profile and eliminates that screechy blast some wood scents can give. Opens up so bright, green, and slightly spicy but inviting, then dries down to the best, sweet clean-smelling woody scent, which lingered on me a decently long time. If you're into cool-girl scents that no one else has, I think this would be absolutely perfect.

Sweet, woody coconut, no pickle vibe at all if Santal 33 has scarred you like it has me. It projects pretty well for the first half hour, then is more intimate (sampled on a hot day). It smells a lot like Le Monde Gourmand's Chai Épicé on my skin, but woodier, and I actually prefer Woodphoria. After two hours, it's mostly cedar, and the dry down reminds me a lot of Burberry (for Women/original). I don't care for the bottle, it looks like it's marketed to teens.

Never tried the 2022 version but picked up a travel size of the new formulation. I was craving something woody while at the beach in the high heat and this doesn’t disappoint. Coconut, fig, and jasmine keep it from feeling too masculine or heavy. Will definitely be purchasing a full bottle. Love finding affordable fragrances. Jerome Epinette does no wrong in my book.

SO gorgeous and lasts so long on my skin, such a unique scent that combines woody, earthy and florals. I love boy smells but some of their scents come out too sweet for me and this was a perfect happy medium, layers so so well with spicy or other woody scents. Reminds me the smell of the interior of a 70s, wood paneled beach house.

sexy sweet baby powder, woodsmoke, and cigarettes. pink tank top jasmine perfume and smoking around a sweet-smelling bonfire. it smells very effortless. the sort of perfume i'd love to overspray, and the rare sort that doesn't become offensive when one does.

Beautiful, perfection. Pulls very soft, woody, and sweet on my skin. I don’t pick up any coconut though. Bought both the reformulation and 2022 version and see almost no difference, only that the reform pulls more woody. Love this combination!!!

in love with this!! i do think this is unisex but the opening smells masculine to me. it smells like you’re in the woods camping. then it starts to get creamier and sweeter on the dry down.

This is very similar to the original for me. It has a slightly stronger coconut that I think balances the dry woodiness very well. I think they did a great job with this reformulation.

I'm a big fan of Boysmells for their genderless, affordable fragrances. A bit sad I haven't had the chance to try the old formulation, but the 2025 version of Woodphoria is very approachable! Another one of those fragrances that smells terrible on the tester (according to gf) but smells intoxicating on me (also according to gf), I think this one depends on your body chemistry. But, if you like polarizing and strong scents, and those tend to work well for you, this could fit as a more regular choice in your rotation. To me, the woody notes do a great job of tying in the coconut and cardamom. It's fresh, warm, slightly sweet, but still well-rounded. Kind of like if Bath and Bodyworks had a collection for people working in corporate. Mass-produced, but not common enough for someone to know what you're wearing off the jump.

Woody, spicy, and slightly vanilla-y or tonka bean-y notes are what I get from jump. I'm not crazy about this fragrance but I do really like it. It's very very warm and comforting without being too sweet. Quite lovely. Not bright at all, which I like, but does pack a punch. I do find it unique. A more feminine-leaning profile. Good longevity, lasts about 7-8hrs on my clothes.

Reminds me of a bonfire on a crisp fall night. Woody and smoking with a hint of sweetness. I wouldn't say its a safe blind buy because I think it can be a bit strong to some.

This is much more warm and spicy than the old version, the old version was a lot more figgy and damp smelling

I want to love this because I really enjoy sandalwood. I, however, do not want to smell like a carton of cigarettes all day which is exactly how this smells on me. I’m shocked because it is so similar to Glossier You Doux, which I love, but there is something bitter about this one whereas Doux is smooth to me. Edit- it is a lot more pleasant after dry down. I definitely smell the minty scent others describe! I’m not sure if I’ll reach for this but I do enjoy smelling it. Maybe I will try it on my husband.

If you're concerned about the coconut note, I would absolutely not categorize this as a coconut scent. It's a smooth sandalwood and cedar fragrance. I don't detect the jasmine or cardamom either. As someone who doesn't typically like sandalwood, I don't mind this, but it's not my fave.

smells good. I get the coconut water, I get the fig leaf, I get the sandalwood/cedar. longevity is ok, projection isn't good. unisex, fresh, somewhat unique but definitely still safe and inoffensive. daytime scent for all seasons. nothing to write home about, but it is pleasant.

Smells kind of like barbequed meat when you first spray it but it dries down okay :/

Am I the only one who thinks it smells kind of like Commodity Milk in the drydown?

I got a sample of this reformulation with my most recent sephora order. On first spray it is super woody, smokey, sweet and green. Very sandalwood forward, almost like incense. I like the opening, it's very dark and green, like standing in a forest. It's the drydown I can't stand. It has a cloying, lactonic, musk that is weirdly masculine and synthetic, yet with this baby powder note over the top. Gives me a headache. On someone else's skin chemistry, I can see this being nice, but on me, it's a pass.

This is not a safe blind buy. I got this on sale and the notes sound very appealing. I was expecting a woody, green fragrance with a little coconut bit what I can smell is an overdose of smoke. Thick, birch tar smokiness. I can't detect cardamom, fig leaf or coconut and even the sandalwood and cedarwood don't come out until the scent is at the bitter end of the dry down. A nope from me.

There was a time that I considered blind buying this and I'm really glad I didn't. It sounds like something I should love, but something is off about it to my nose. It smells a bit like the Santal 33 DNA but with a strange gasoline smell to it in the background.

Sweet and less woody than I expected. Sorta coconut, but not sunscreeny. Airy. Up close, it's kinda salty with a hint of Play-Doh.

it’s not the same..... a very fig forward and somewhat of a beachy fragrance with this buttery jasmine... compared to the original its definitely stronger and fresher but its not as wood focused like the original.. different fragrance with the same name

the original was probably one of my favorite fragrances but this is straight up a completely different perfume with the same name.

Bad presentation, bad scent. Dry-down is a little more bearable once the softer jasmine becomes apparent.

I'm super surprised that nobody here is smelling palo santo and/or guaiac wood. Could be a combo of other things that are smelling exactly like palo santo... But I think it's palo santo. I'm also getting camphor, like that of eucalyptus, but maybe it's cardamom? The sandalwood is there, and the cedar is very subtle. Like @Steelteabag said, the jasmine is buttery. It's really nice, and gender neutral. I understand the coconut but it's very light. Sweet (almost cinnamon), slightly minty, WOOD. I'm not 100% certain if I've got the reformulation (this one ^) or the original; bc I got it in the 'exploratory set' in the mail today.

A lot of people don't like the reformulation, I've never tried the original but I love this - its creamy woody and it lingers for a decently long time on my skin! It has an almost wet wood, pencil-ness to it, that settles into this beatiful sweet sandalwood scent. It has an almost coconutiness to it also, I actually layer it with glossier you and they work well together, but on its own it's a very nice "more than skin" scent that works perfect for hot days.

This should be in the men’s section of Sephora This is a very woody non sweet cedar fragrance that will not scrub off Also the cardamom made it even more masculine Hated it

They've replaced the worst bottle design ever with something even worse than that! Quite impressive in a way. Sack the design team! 😂

i WISH i got more spice and cardamom from this. it’s a good woody option, i don’t love how powdery it gets.
