Cuero

First review! This is an excellent scent. I'm wearing it now, and it has lasted all day at work today. It projects moderately until around 3-4 hours after which it becomes a skin scent. It starts out with an orange and floral note, with woods and a light leather. The orange isn't strong and blends well with the other notes, so it isn't overpowering, but it is detectable. The orange will fade after a bit, but then the slight smoke shows it's face, and the jasmine is apparent too. It, like High Desert from the same house, does evoke a nice hotel in a dusty western town from the turn of the 19th century. It is a high-quality fragrance. I'm a fan of Boyd's

While this definitely leans more masculine it has a lightness to it that makes it unisex. It was an instant purchase for me! It’s leathery it’s sexy and it’s *almost* heavy and deep but it stops right before that feeling. It’s PERFECT for Texas. I find it hard to wear some of my more ‘manly’ scents here because the heat makes it overwhelm but this is just light masculine perfection. This does something I wanted Cuir by le labo to do but it didn’t and was too heavy. It reminds me of Saint Rita but it’s more of a light or decaf version of it. It smells like a soft leather chair or your man’s shirt he’s worn all day. Its addictive.

Cuero leans more masculine compared to some of their other fragrances (Yellow Rose and TX Lavender lean more feminine but still unisex). Like the other reviews mention, this is a more versatile leather fragrance. The floral notes stay constant throughout wearing it during the day making it more appropriate for warm weather wear. Softer sillage since this is an all natural EDP.

Course, smoky-leather that fades to a delicate aromat by the middle-end of the wear. This uniquely-American story is told in a French way. Cuero is multifoliate, containing elements of other fragrances but in a combination uniquely its own.

I tried all five of Boyd's offerings in a sample grab from an online etailer... this was my second favorite. Despite a very rough opening on the spray-on, it dried down to what I have to say is one of the most astonishingly authentic Texas scents that I have ever encountered. I mean all of what I'm about to say in the most honest, and respectful manner possible. It reminded me of the smell of my grandparent's and great-grandparent's house... a very homely and pleasant, living scent... perfumed, for sure, but in a way that is bespoke of folks who work hard for their living, who appreciate time with family... there is lavender for sure, but more of a warm Texas breeze that is mingled with the remnants of my grandfather's cologne and grandmother's perfume. I don't know how better to describe it than it felt ancestral... like home. I have lived on four continents over my 52+ years, and as an adult, this took me right back to a five year old version of myself, comfortable in the presence of these protectors, rooted in the soil of North Texas. This fragrance is a marvelous trip down memory lane.

Starts out intensely, acridly smoky; after ~15min eases into a mellow, distant mesquite fire. I’m instantly transported to this tiny paint pigment shop I once visited out in rural New Mexico—earthy, warm, smoky. After 3 hours it’s very intimate—more leather and hay and ember in harmony, just barely off the skin. It’s an Anthony Hurd painting as a fragrance.

Smells like an old leather jacket that had some Fireball whiskey spilled on it, and it has been stored in an antique armoire in a old wood cabin for several years. Charming. The best of the house.

Really natural and botanical. Feels like a perfect center point between High Desert & Green Vetiver. Has a beautiful smokiness, gentle and well balanced leather, and dry florals and vetiver. Beautiful and grounded smell that's great on anyone of any gender. I love it.

Burns my nose and makes me feel nauseated. It does smell leathery and smoky but in a really bad way. I’ve smelled great smoky leathery fragrances but this one made me gag.
