Island Fantasy

Category: Fruity, tropical, floral. Notes: Sprays on a gorgeous canteloupe melon, quickly accompanied by a juicy and ripe mango. Soon it develops into a more non-distinct fruit punch, where I’m picking up various melons, mango, and perhaps most clearly - pineapple. After a few hours of wear, a faint, round and sweet musk enters the ring, and the syrupy pineapple is mostly drowned out by a light and airy jasmine. Vibe: Tropical holiday. Fruit punch. White beaches and palm trees. Fruit salad. Loin cloth. Bronzed skin. Piña colada. Summer of 2010. Green and yellow. Beach wavy hair. Salty skin. Hot and sweaty. Clean sheets. Sparkling water. Waterfalls. Caribbean waters. Island girl. Sillage: 5/10. This starts out strong but within the hour it dissipates into a near skin scent. I’m trying this in October too which makes me skeptical this would hold up well in the summer heat, when I think it’d be most suitable to wear. Longevity: 7/10. Will definitely last you a good few hours, at least in cold weather. I doubt it’d perform as well in hot weather, but who knows? I’ve got another 7 months before I can test it out... sigh! Wear: A quintessential summer perfume - perfect for a tropical holiday. I’d say this is more of a daytime scent, but would work just as well for evening wear. Overall rating: 8/10. This smells like a tropical fruit smoothie - it is fruity in the start and floral in the dry-down. Probably most accurately described as the scent when you crack open canned pineapple in syrup for the first few hours, and a (in the best way) fabric softener floral after some wear. It is juicy, sweet, ripe and fresh but never overpowering, juvenile or cloying as some of Britneys other perfumes can be. That being said, it is quite generic and very linear. But if you expect complexity from a celebrity perfume you’re probably barking up the wrong tree to begin with. I thought this was a little too fruity at first, but the longer it stayed on the more I ended up liking it... loving it actually. To the point where I could see this becoming an everyday wear at some point, although probably not now during fall and winter. I don’t know if Britney’s perfumes are inspired by her songs, but if this was inspired by any of them it would be Slave 4 U and the sweaty, hot and sexy MV, at least when its still in the top and middle notes. Island Fantasy is a very apt name, and if I had to describe this scent with one word it would be tropical. Who would wear it?: This is what I imagine Rihanna smells like, honestly SUCH an Island girl perfume.

Well I just couldn't resist, having read up on all those mouthwatering fragrance notes & the fact that I do love Britney's perfumes ... so I ordered online from Boots. It's actually rather scrumptious, bursting with exotic smelling fruit juices and sweet floral yumminess. Before buying it, I had been disappointed that she hadn't released this as an EDP ... but on the other hand, it makes sense, as this really is a spring/summer fragrance, when you really don't want anything too powerful & overbearing. And this version of Fantasy seems specifically to have been with that in mind - the whole theme is about exotic island getaways after all. So, as I suspected would be the case, sillage is quite low; about the same as you would normally expect for an EDT; also, bear in mind that I am testing this in London in 10°C weather after all.... I can imagine this would be rather different & really quite luscious in the summer, with sun-warmed skin releasing these gorgeous wafts of exotic cocktail throughout the day. Longevity on the other hand, is actually pretty good - a few hours in and it hasn't faded by much at all. I'm quite impressed. Again, in summer, the heat, and my skin being less dry, will make this last even longer. If you like sweet & fruity florals (as I do) then you will like this, although it's a whole lot more tropical fruit sweet than the kind of fruity/foody/vanilla gourmand I tend to be drawn to. All in all, a good buy, and I will look forward to using it more when spring & summer come around... and most definitely on my summer hols... this will be perfect to spray on after a day on a hot Italian beach, going out for dinner al fresco ... there's just the danger that half the restaurant will be wanting to eat me for dessert instead of the ice cream!

i got this by accident...i was in search for a spring scent for a gift and i found Curious by Britney Spears at online shop, but when it came it was this, don't know why but i've sent a compliant..... anyway i decided to open it and check if everything is ok inside so i tried it on my skin....first blast was a light citrus but after few seconds it becomes a sweet wonderful watermelon soft bubblegum citrusy thing which is really really nice...so i decided not to give it back and keep this one as a gift..... i think the perfect occasions for this is summer, it's 40°C outside, you go to work and don't want vanilla or flowers to suffocate you and others all day so this is a perfect non offensive summer beauty.....the other occasion is when you go to the beach or somewhere hot for holiday, this is the one scent to wear to the beach so you can get yourself a nice aromatherapy while sunbathing...it's affordable and on me it's kinda D&G light blue form men but softer, can imagine Amphitrite smelling like this :P just a shame it's EDT and has poor longevity, hope an EDP with a bigger aura comes out soon :) hope this helps...destiny works in strange ways

I'm currently on a mission to finish my Britney collection. This week I got this, Intimate & In Bloom (Sunset, Maui & Radiance should arrive Monday) Island Fantasy is going to be in heavy rotation come summer. This is very light, refreshing & aquatic. Citrus, berries and watermelon with a tiny bit of florals peeking through and a soft almost skin scent musk. All mixed with sugar. This is a perfect scent for those hot & humid days of summer. This is an EDT & its so light that it does fade rather quickly but it was pretty cheap so I won't mind re spraying throughout the day. This would probably be great stored in the refrigerator and used cold for a refreshing pick me up I love Britney's colorful globes and this one is my favorite atm (rainbow fantasy will probably be my favorite, if it ever gets released *sigh) So unless you're like me, and are a stickler for the bottles, you probably could just save a few bucks & buy the body spray version. Overall, the scent is delicious but silliage & longevity are pretty weak.

I surprised my mom with a gift of Island Fantasy (I knew she'd love the bottle!) and Annick Goutal's Grand Amour and guess which one she found more impressive? Yup, Island Fantasy! She said Grand Amour was beautiful for the 45 minutes it lasted but she raved about the watermelon and orange tang of Island Fantasy from which she got a good 4 hours of noticeable fragrance. My experience with Grand Amour's "shortgevity" mirrors Mom's but Island Fantasy also lasted less than an hour on me so I'm a tad jealous. According to Mom, on her skin the watermelon note in Island Fantasy is quite authentic rather than "perfumey" and the transition to the orange is subtle, drying down to a beachy orange blossom floral rather than a fruity orange. Said it reminded her of springtime in Florida and she mentioned that overall the impression was of fresh, clean ocean breezes, so the ozonic and aquatic aspects really stand out. Surprise your mom with a fragrance gift. She's worth it!

I came across this as a teenager and every time I remember this fragrance I feel an urge to buy it again because I truly loved it so much. Such a fresh citrusy aquatic fragrance! It’s truly amazing in the summer time and every time I would wear it It was like a big first freshness radiating around me. Living somewhere where it gets really hot and humid I felt most fragrances that I typically liked to wear, even if they weren’t super strong and overpowering, would still make me feel heavy during the day - this frag was a huge saviour for me. I only wish this projected more and lasted longer as I wasn’t sure whenever I wore this if anyone could actually smell it on me and if so, I would’ve had to overspray to get a good sent bubble going for a couple hours or so. It is very affordable though so if you don’t mind carrying it around with you and touching up throughout the day, I’d say it’s something to try for the summer.

Such a nice scent oh my gosh! It smells delicious, sweet but tropical and I really get the watermelon note (I have the body mist). I read reviews about the poor performance so figured I may as well spend £9.99 on the mist for 236ml and overspray rather than the excessive eBay prices for an EDT for 100ml to still get a weak lasting power. The scent is absolutely delicious though, if you like Miami Glow you will definitely love this, it’s less soapy and more aquatic-y but still sweet. Also different fruits shine through (watermelon!) compared to Miami Glow (passion fruit). This is so good you have to get the body mist for ab uplifting scent even if it’s not long lasting. Strictly a summer / heat fragrance though. The UK winter will absolutely tear through this fragrance. It almost feels like it wouldn’t be ruined by sweat too.

This was one of my first perfumes i used back in high school and still my favourite one ! imo it’s the best one in the entire collection. It smells like delicious watermelon lemonade. The dry down smell is the same to me but it’s better. A win win situation. Also it’s not super sweet & definately more suitable for teen girls / young adults. It’s pretty strong at first but you’d have to spray every few hours. EDIT : I wrote this review based on my experience with this fragrance back in highschool, not recent. I just took in that I used a dupe and not the actual island fantasy. I remembered cause I just bought this one and it smells so different, I prefer the dupe I bought back then lol. This is a lot lighter, less sweet and does not last long at all but it does smell nice.

Sometimes luck hits me as well, and this gorgeous perfume came to me 21st of december -24, and what a great pressie for x-mas that was! I bought this beautiful perfume privat, a full 1.7fl.oz/50 ml bottle, for only 150Nkr/15$, and l just couldn belive my eyes, and thank you so very much to the seller! I have been wanted this green baby for sooo long, and, it is just as you lovers describe it, and, proably l'm suffering of a female Peter-Pan syndrome, because it makes me feel 7 (years) again, and l'm just so very happy, and, I remember l bought John Lennons LP Shaved Fish, when l was 12 ys, because of the sound track IMAGINE, also my very 1st LP ever, and, l still have it, and dreams are for free, and just lmagine if luck strikes all of us, that would be very nice, thanks!

To the man posting below me: Elizabeth Arden chose her because she is the best-selling artist of the 2000's and she has a WIDE demographic of fans. Her fragrances represent 34 PERCENT OF ALL celebrity fragrance sales. Your post was completely rude since I doubt you know Miss Spears personally. You can't judge someone who you don't know. She donates a portion of her Vegas show profit EVERY NIGHT to the Nevada Child Cancer Association, has done many charitable things, donated millions, and has her life on track. Google all of that before coming here bashing Britney. This fragrance is very citrusy and summery. I really like it although it doesn't have good longevity on my skin, but on my friend it lasts all day. Try it before buying it.

Mi segundo favorito de la linea Fantasy (El primero es el Maui Fantasy). Es mi botella #4 de Island Fantasy. Cuando llega el verano es la fragancia que más uso. Diría que es 100% unisex, nunca NADIE me ha preguntado si estoy usando un perfume de mujer. He recibido solo buenos comentarios. En mi piel siento un mix de Sandia y clementina. El único problema es que siendo un eau de toilette dura como máximo 2 horas en piel pero en la ropa si dura 5 a 6 horas. Si encuentras una botella compralo, es una hermosa fragancia veraniega. La botella hermosa con el degradado de los colores. Tengo otras 5 cajas de este perfume de reserva porque con los años será aun más difícil de encontrarla.

This was a nice blind buy surprise. I have several flankers of Fantasy and each one smells nice in it's own way. On this one I only get citrus and maybe some pear. I don't get watermelon at all. I have only tried this during the winter, and it is a nice reminder of summer. It is fresh, citrusy and delicious. Edit: I tried this in summer and was disappointed as it had almost no projection or longevity. It was very dull. I am wearing this once again in winter (it's snowing outside) and feel that it shines best in cooler weather. Granted it is marketed mostly for summer weather, it is nice and crisp with more distinct notes in the cold weather. I like wearing it before bed.

Dear ”Fragranticas” out there.....Well, here I am now sitting with a newly purchased second-hand Island fantasy that I paid a lot for on Ebay. A LOT!!! I had it when it was new on the perfume market (and cheap) Back then I didn't like it because I thought it smelled like a mens aftershave. Now, however, it smells like heaven! Thinking it must be that this used bottle has gotten better over the years and not as incredibly sharp and citrusy as it was when I bought it new. It is absolutely incomparably fantastically good now that I am sitting in a cloud of fragrant happiness! Sending hugs and love from Sweden to all of you perfumelovers! Meow!

This perfume is like one of those exotic drinks you get on summer vacation, fruity and slightly sugary. It may not be listed as a note, but I get the smell of beach water when I first put this on. Then about five minutes later, I smell watermelon, and as a huge fan of watermelon in fragrances, this is a gorgeous take on them. It become more citrusy as time goes on and I feel like I'm lying on the beach when I wear this. The only negative is that I do have to reapply after a few hours, it won't last the whole day. (Most likely down to the fact this is EDT). This could be easily be anyone's summer signature!

Fresh, citrus melon is balanced with a subtle musk. It is a bit syrupy. But it’s also fresh, fruity, and youthful. It does not smell exactly like watermelon (thankfully), nor does it smell sea-like or salty. It is similar to a gentler B&BW cucumber melon + Bomb Pops (those red white & blue firework popsicles)! And I second the nostalgia; I think my babysitter as a kid wore it, because the scent takes me back to admiring 20-something women who seemed like they could take over the world. 3.5/5 stars: so cute and clean, yet the longevity is low, and it smells cheap.

I've had this probably since it came out. MULTIPLE backups, for under $20, which I'm sooo glad! These prices now tho! This & Midnight are my only 2 Fantasy loves. Total opposites, love them both. This is THE ONE that shouldn't have been DC'd. I am so curious now about Jungle, which I have never smelled before. I may pick up the Beach in 5 Below, just to see what the deal is with that. I already know it won't be this perfect. I have over 600 perfumes, & LOVE to review my beauties on Youtube. NatalieN on there! Bring this back into production, such a winner!!!!!!

Spring has sprung, and so has Island Fantasy. Regardless of the name, it's a wet, spring rain fragrance. It's fresh, it's fruity: it celebrates the new budding leaves, the new blooming flowers, and it absolutely clamors for a picnic. It's a moderate-length rain, so splash yourself again in a couple of hours before playing in it again. ;-) ...but it's a fragrance for fun. Maybe the new Maui Fantasy has summer covered? -I also do reviews for perfumes safe for migraines, and it has neither set one off nor aggravated a headache when I had one.

Firstly: what a glorious, stunning fragrance. I like my celebrity scents ONLY when they're well made and fit a certain mood and not just a genre or trend. This does it perfectly. Watermelon & orange or tangerine. Its clean, aquatic and fresh... but not in the usual way. I wouldn't say its groundbreaking but there's also not many scents out there like this either. Lasts roughly 2 hours which I'm not complaining about due to the price. Secondly, speaking of price, why is this on sale on Amazon for almost $100 AUD? LOL!

I’ve been trying to find this scent - not specifically the perfume — for years. It reminds me of a specific scent memory. I love this. I am well into my 40s and I am enjoying this but I love melon in scents. Not super sweet (thank goodness) but fruity sweet. I’d say refreshing best describes this. Perfect for hot, humid days. I was only able to find the body mist, unfortunately, so longevity is not good. Sillage is very good while it lasts. I will keep my eye put for the perfume.

I'm so pleased with this. I usually don't like citrus because it's quite sour and astringent on me (like a lemon dish soap) But this has a surprisingly realistic sweet clementine opening and the watermelon also makes is so juicy, fresh and green. It also lasts quite a bit longer than OG Fantasy. I don't really notice the floral middle notes, or even the musk in the base. To me it just stays fruity and juicy and gently tapers off until I can't smell it anymore.

Okay, I love Britney's Fantasy line. I have no idea why I waited so long to finally get this one. It's juicy, sweet, fresh, and vibrant. A fantasic summer fragrance. Silage is average & longevity is aprox 3 hours on my skin, but as it is inexpensive (I got it super cheap @ Marshalls) I do not mind reapplying it a few more times. Edit: Longevity is longer than I thought, others still smell it on me several hours later. I must be nose blind to the drydown.

This is just so gorgeous and aquatic. I was worried that the watermelon note would turn sour on my skin, but it doesn’t and it smells so fresh. It doesn’t last long, so I keep applying every hour as it is doesn’t break the bank. I’m much happier with this one than my Jimmy Choo L’eau, which also doesn’t last long but costs rather a lot, and they both smell so similar to my untrained nose. I love them both, but I will only be re-buying Island Fantasy.

What a perfect fragrance for summer and spring! Feels like I'm on a tropical island, drinking a delicious juice while enjoying my time there. Unfortunately it's available as Eau de Toilette only but that fits since it's meant to be a fragrance for the warm/hot seasons. The performance is poor, I get about 2-3 hours wearing time. But I can't stop smelling it so I give it a "love" rating and it's one of Britney Spears' more unique fragrances. :)

Really pretty perfume, but performs like a body spray. This opens with a tangy citrus note, that slowly morphs into a melon rind. The melon rind is nice, there is no sweetness. Then it finalizes as a green ozonic note. I have to hold my nose up to my wrist to smell this, and the same with my clothes. Someone said they picked up mint on the green note, and I agree. It kind of reminds me of a Mojito. I still like it, it's just very very light.

Mmmm! Yummy Yummy Yummy. This is such a nice syrupy sweet watermelon fragrance. Really nice on a summer day when you are done showering from working outside or running. It is just so fresh and fun that you just wanna douse yourself all over with it. Granted the longevity is not great but for the price, it is not bad at all. The bottle is also so stunning and makes you feel like you are at the beach enjoying a watermelon soda.

My favourite summer cheapie! This is a beautiful citrusy / candy-watermelon scent - sweet but fresh. I find it really refreshing in the summertime and it's a great inexpensive perfume to just keep on my desk at work and reapply throughout the day without being worried about using up a lot of it. It literally lasts 5 minutes before it's gone so I REALLY do have to reapply a lot, but I don't mind.

I went through a 50ml bottle last summer & had to get this one again!!<3 This is one of my most favorite spring/summer scents!! I pick up lots of citrus & pineapple & hits of watermelon & sugar cane....just all around juicy fruits!!! The longevity could be better but I don't mind reapplying as neeed and sillage is initially moderate on me then it fades softly within 30mins for me

Sunset, Palm Trees, Breeze, Ocean, Cocktails These are things that come to mind when I wear this perfume. This is one of those perfumes where you get excited to wear it because it is so, so beautiful! I have a thing for fresh, watermelon/citrus/cucumber scents and this perfume captures it all. This is one I will be wearing forever, that's for sure. Highly recommend :)

Oh my! I really do like this, a lot. I'm not a huge fan of her other perfumes, except for intimate, but I prefer this. This is a great summer scent, or great when you travel to the tropics. The sillage is somewhat weak and the lasting power isn't great either, but the smell is beautiful. I am really impressed, I wasn't expecting this from her. The bottle is adorable.

Smells really nice, was actually surprised usually the Britney's smell really sweet but this one is more like orange leafs or something green mixed with slight sweetness and watermelon. It's true what they say this does not last long at all but it is very pleasant. The bottle is fantastic and perfect for my Britney collection.

~ Sweet Berries, Bright Citruses, Juicy Watermelon This is a wonderful summer time fragrance. The drydown becomes a soft sugar cane with a clean citrus and a hint of berry. You could bathe in this fragrance and you still wouldn't offend anyone. It lasts much longer on clothes. Silage is pretty Quiet. Lasts for 2-4 hours

I bought Island Fantasy for for about $6. After I tested this on my skin I got mostly citrus and very little watermelon or sweetness. I layered it with a lemongrass scented oil (lemongrass essential oil and almond oil) and this really works well for me. I'll try with something vanilla the next time.

This is such a beautiful summer fragrance. It's so soft yet you can smell the zing of manderine and orange but I also get a spritz of pineapple and coconut water with the smell of watermelon lingering in the background. I can just imagine wearing this and sitting poolside with a piña colada.......

This perfume is freshness and happiness in a bottle! I adore this one and it is the best for a hot summer day! it matches my skin perfectly and I always get compliments on this one!Every time I smell it it makes me smile. Its lasting power is exactly what it should be for a summer scent. ;)

I honestly really love this scent, but I don't smell any citrus, just watermelon. The watermelon is amazing though, I love it. The only problem that I have with this scent is that it fades away after about 30-1 hour. All that I get is the watermelon and then it's gone.

I actually really like it! It also survived thru my intense sweaty weight lifting session! It is summery, citrusy but not too sour and quite green yet without a masculine tone unlike most green/ozonic fragrances for women. It has some sweetness to it.

It's a very light, fresh and happy smell. you smell the citrus mixed with the melon and it is pure magic! close your eyes and you are on a warm tropical private beach drinking a watermelon drink and very relaxing. the perfect summer fragrance!

Usually, I really can not stand watermelon in fragrances. But this one is mixed with citrus, so its not too annoying. That ́s why I can enjoy it especially in hot weather. This frag was just born for summer, sea and vacation. :)

I love this perfume but it doesn't last. It wears off within the hour and isn't noticable. Waste of money really...But it smells so tropical, I still enjoy the occasional spray despite its lacking stay power.

Island fantasy is really a fantasy! I got it from my sister and it's so yummy and delicious. Recommend it to everyone, lovely bottle and a lovely scent for a good price. :)

I love how fresh this leaves the skin! I would only use this in the summer time but still a great perfume to have if you don't want anything too strong.

Wanted to like it, but it smells to masculine-cologne-ish for me. The bodymist has less of that masculine vibe to it and smells ok.

This one of my favorite EDT, and I will repurchase it. I really the tropical smell, watermelon and citrus, very refreshing.

This is strictly a summer only scent in my opinion. Its light and fruity. Smells amazing, I just wish it lasted longer.

It smells sweet, fresh, juicy and watermelony to me. The bottle is gorgeous in person. I love it!
