Prerogative

''Prerogative'' is a lactonic, creamy, warm, ambery, woody, soft, light and very sweet scent. It has a little bit of the ''Fantasy'' DNA too. It's a seductive, mysterious, sexy, dark, more grown up,[ANYONE CAN WEAR EVERYTHING THEY WANT], vanilla perfume with a little bit of spice. I can smell a lot of apricot and goji berries, a little bit of pink pepper, a tiny little bit of coffee and a beautiful sexy creamy woody base, giving it a little bit of depth. A lot of people say that they smell the coffee, but to me it is almost non existent! A lot of people say that it is almost the same as ''Private Show'' but to me, this a different scent. In ''Private Show'' I get citrus of the [clementine] and fruits, I get a LOT of coffee, it is WAY MORE sweet and caramelly, it is A LOT STRONGER, [lasts and projects a lot longer as well] it is fruitier and a little powdery. Prerogative is a LOT softer, berry scent, that lasts a lot less and projection is minimal. It lasts max on my skin 3-4 hours and sillage is really soft. It is like a skin scent.To me they are COMPLETELY different scents and I think that you should smell both, even though, so many people say that they smell almost the same. They don't! ''Private Show'' is a LOUD and STRONG perfume and ''Prerogative is a SOFT and LIGHT perfume. I think that you should smell them before buying them, because ''Private Show'' is a very VERY SWEET and STRONG perfume, [so if you don't like thicker, louder and very sweet scents try this out first] and ''Prerogative'' says that it is a unisex perfume and it might smell different on your skin, [even though I would say that it is DEFINITELY FEMININE. [I'm not saying that men can't wear this as well, EVERYONE CAN WEAR EVERYTHING THEY WANT], I'm just saying this because that's what kept me away from buying it. The ''unisex'' word. I bought it eventually as a blind buy and I'm happy that I did because it smells very feminine and very beautiful on my skin. Overall, I love both ''Private Show'' and ''Prerogative'' and I think that both are two beautiful scents, worth buying. I am very happy that I have them. I hope that my review helped you. Sorry for my long review. I just wanted to describe these two scents as good as possible to help you notice the differences.

So I'm kind of annoyed with myself for sleeping on this fragrance. When it first came out, i purchased the body mist and was not impressed with what i smelled. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have no wow factor. Fast forward 2 years later, my reaction to this same fragrance was "WOW". I was shopping at Burlington a week ago and something was telling me to purchase this. The 30ml was only $9.99! But i figured i could still probably get something better for that low price. So a few days ago, i returned to Burlington and finally decided to give it a try with very little hope of enjoying this scent. When i first sprayed it, i got a weird Play-Doh smell and i immediately thought "You should've saved your f**king money". As i let it sit, this began to transform into this warm, creamy, woody scent. I began to smell a blend of Coffe, Saffron and Apricot. It was nothing like I've ever smelled before. I was intrigued. As it dried down, there's a slight spicy Amber accord, but that Coffee and Apricot manages to remain noticeable through the duration of this fragrance. The performance was pretty good. Prerogative gave me a good six hours with at least 3 feet of sillage. You really get a bang for your buck with this fragrance. I even went back to get a 1.7oz bottle because i know I'm going to go through my 30ml bottle. Overall, i am highly satisfied with this fragrance. I think it's safe for the work place. This is one of those cheapie, but goodie scents that leans more torwards the feminine side, but i honestly think the right guy could pull this off. Scent: 10/10 Packaging: 8/10 Performance: 7/10

Prerogative opens with fizzy berries - sort of an generic blackberry/raspberry type accord - that are spiced With pink pepper. I can't separate any lily or similar floral notes - there are some mossy florals [sort of like that wet, green scent when you're in a woody area after rain] The coffee, saffron and cream notes come through soon after and give Prerogative a sweet & spicy vibe - the coffee note in Prerogative is much stronger compared to the one in Private Show, which I'm loving as a coffee fiend. The spice and quiet sweet from the lingering berries mingling with the cream & saffron contrasts with the coffee & mossy florals, providing energy and warmth to the fragrance, with the slight hint of latex mingled in the woody base darkening things up and preventing the sweetness from being too loud. Prerogative is the first Britney Spears fragrance under their new licence with Revlon and I was a bit concerned that they'd derail the more adult direction that Elizabeth Arden had been starting to take with the fragrances and instead take a cheap 'n tacky quick-cash approach, but I most say that I really enjoy their debut effort; Prerogative is a very wearable, slightly-more-traditionally-feminine-side-but-still-fairly unisex, spicy oriental edp, that is a lot more individual than many of the recent Britney Spears fragrances have been. I'm a little bit disappointed that the longevity isn't as good as the Elizabeth Arden releases, averaging around the the 5-6 hour mark. However I do still think that Prerogative is well worth testing if you see it in a store.

It spotted a one ounce bottle at T.J.Maxx for 9.99 recently and snapped it up based on the reviews that said it was similar to Black Opium. I actually do have a bottle of Black Opium, but naturally I don't want to go through it very quickly so I thought I would give this a try. First off, let me say that if you are looking for an exact dupe, this isn't it. However, if you want something similar that's in the same vein as BO, then give this a try. In comparison, it does not have the same depth or richness that BO has. It's lighter and fruitier in my opinion. That "thick" feel that BO has just isn't there. However, this is still a great scent nonetheless! The coffee note is subtle, but present. The sweetness isn't sugary to the point of nausea. I think it all blends together very well. As for strength, I didn't find that this projected very far. I could still get small wiffs of it here and there, but it's not a powerhouse by any means. In terms of longevity, I think this lasted maybe three to four hours, if that. It didn't seem to stick around that long to be honest. I didn't find this scent to be particularly unisex. In my opinion, it definitely gravitates to a more feminine scent, but anyone can certainly enjoy it! If you are not a stickler for wanting an exact dupe, but would like something close enough, give this a try!

I’ve been looking for the perfect coffee perfume for a while, so when I saw a 3.4 fl oz of Britney Spears Prerogative for $20 on Fragrancenet, I didn’t hesitate to blind buy. I love the smell of this. It is so sweet and yummy, like a steaming mocha from a downtown coffee shop. It’s as if you took BS Fantasy and ironed out some of the “screechy” fruit notes (I love Fantasy, but this is smoother) then blended it with sugary coffee. Prerogative is similar to Private Show, as some have suggested, but I’d say this is warmer, a tad deeper, and leans slightly more unisex. That said, I don’t feel like the lasting power of this great at all. Generally celebrity fragrances aren’t extremely long lasting in my opinion, but on me, this is weaker than most other BS perfumes. While Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, and Private Show last on the longer side of moderate for me, Prerogative is gone by the third hour mark. Don’t let lasting power deter you from trying this, though. I think the incredible smell and extremely low price are enough to make up for it, and you can always spray on clothes and reapply throughout the day to keep the scent going strong. Overall, Prerogative is delicious, but I will be resuming my hunt for the perfect coffee perfume. The smell of it is amazing, but I’m craving something with more strength.

I love Britney Spears - as a person, as an entertainer, for her work ethic - and I consider myself a collector of her fragrances (except the Fantasies - her dad sold the trademark for that to the conservatorship mastermind Lou Taylor; that's why there are so many). I was always hesitant about this one because I did not like Black Opium when I tried it, and this one is compared to that one. Well, well, well. I wish I had bought this sooner, so that I could have been enjoying it all fall and winter long! I think Black Opium was too floral for me? Maybe I tried it during the "wrong" (for me) season? I was always confused as to how that one had "coffee" in it. On the other hand, Private Show was SO. SWEET. that I couldn't pick up the coffee either. It's probably just my skin chemistry. So, yay, Prerogative is what I wished Black Opium and Private Show had been on me. Another note - One day I forgot I had put Prerogative on in the morning (no surprise, it doesn't last long). I got a whiff of it when it had dried down and become a skin scent. My brain went, "OG Lolita Lempicka?? ... Not LL Mon Premier??? What sorcery..." Which makes sense - soft spicy, sweet, powdery, woody - these two perfumes share the same main accords :)

Very surprised the body mists aren’t on Fragrantica. I feel nowadays body mists are pretty accurate to the parfums, they just miss the base if anything. So this is just a review for the Prerogative body mist. Very cute aesthetic, the juice is a really pretty dark pink. Label is matte black, a matte raspberry pink oval, font differs in color between white, black, and satin bronze. It is a nice scent, and does seem to belong to the Black Opium family before its time. Mostly I get a creamy, fruity top, with a sweet floral lactonic coffee mid. As I said with body mists, it seems to be missing the base notes that would take it further, deeper, more serious. I feel like Private Show is for daytime, and Prerogative is for night. I will absolutely pick up the EDP of this. Though I am sadly prepared for abysmal performance. 🥲 It’s like the entire Black Opium line also imitated Britney’s perfumes’ lack of performance... Would go nuts if somebody were able to dupe or recreate the Black Opium line and Britney’s coffee scents and make them strong and last at least 6 hours, because they are glorious!

If Private Show and Black Opium had a child, it would smell like Prerogative. I really enjoy the scent although I’d consider it wholly feminine and not even slightly unisex. I adore unisex frags and this one is just missing that vibe. Another thing it’s missing is staying power. My Private Show can go all day and night, Prerogative was gone from my skin in twenty minutes and barely clung to my clothes after an hour. Yes, I timed it. I also employed the nose of a friend to sniff test me just to make sure it wasn’t me becoming anosmic. Nope, this perfume smells lovely but does not last. It’s a fruitier, sharper version of Private Show with similarities to Black Opium, but without the complexity of YSL. It’s something I very much appreciate the smell of, because it’s not going to set off my allergies or anyone’s asthma. My only complaint is that it really does not last, like a lot of other reviewers have mentioned. However at $15 for 1.7 bottle it’s not a purchase I regret. I’ll keep it and use it but I don’t know if I’ll buy it again. Scent 8/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 5/10

Yay!! Finally Britney is letting us guys in on her vast collection of fragrances. I’ve been waiting years for her to release something suitable for guys and this was perfect. It’s very sweet, it actually smells pink, I know it sounds kinda weird but if you think about what pink would smell like, this is it. It’s unisex but I would say it maybe leans a little more feminine, yet not as gourmand-y or as girly as her Fantasy range. It’s perfectly suitable for a male to wear, however, the male would have to be comfortable with his feminine side, so in saying that I think this would be perfectly acceptable for Britney’s legion of gay fans, of which I am one. It smells like a party scent, it has a real element of fun to it, I could see a bunch of people wearing this to a Britney concert, all smelling perfectly delicious. I love it. It’s exactly what I was hoping for from her first unisex scent, great job Brit. I shall be wearing this a lot. Performance is average, yet the price is super affordable so it’s good value.

I've always been a Britney fan, so when I found out about this fragrance being unisex, I immediately had to order. The price was incredible. Unfortunately, it is definitely a more female leaning fragrance, I even suspect the company to put unisex label on it just to see if it helps the sales. That said, I can see a more feminine guy wear it and embrace it, but for myself I don't think I'm gonna wear it in public since it's just not my style. No matter if Britney is dancing with knives or giving us the middle finger in an insta story, she has such a feminine vibe to her that it's difficult to imagine a trully men's fragrance produced under the label - but who knows, maybe the company will find some courage to experiment and they'll do it. However, Pregogative is not that, it's trully a fragrance for women and it's really good at it - especially when you see the price. But there's no need to slap unisex label on it.

Sooooooo, I'm a little sad about this one because I LOVE THE SMELL OF THIS!! Its like light black opium, with a cup full of sugar, like her little thotty cousin and I love. However she doesn't last!!! Like at all one hour in it becomes a skin scent 2-3 hours after that you smell nothing and that's with 20 sprays, bathing in the stuff, adding it to your lotion, etc etc..... The way this is going I'll be out of this stuff in a week and a 1/2... which I know the stuff ain't expensive but who wants to go through all that. I'm going to let it set see if she becomes stronger which I'm hoping for because she's the best one of the 4 I just bought!!!! Update 5/12 soooo I let it sit and I’m wearing it almost 2 weeks later and I was WRONGGGG I guess it needed to rest and macerate because I put this on at 1’pm it’s 7 and I still smell it on my skin and clothes when I move it projects 8.5/10. I’m so happy I was wrong?!

I blind buy everything,for health reasons, and this came 2 weeks ago.. I've tried everything I can but this is a mystery. I go anosmic to this, but it comes and goes. When I can smell it, it's great. Sometimes I get that plastic sense, mmm, latex petals. 🤔 It can be smoothly deep and fruity, then cold and rough. Then nothing. There is something in there that reminds me very much of Pink Suede by Avon, which is my all time favorite. That's why I keep trying different approaches to smell this consistently for the entire 2 to 4 hours that I "think" it lasts. Maybe I'm reading the coffee note as suede? I'm distressed and confounded 😂 When it disappeared the first time I was terrified that I had gotten Corona virus, had just read that anosmia is one of the symptoms. So I really like this, but it is a strange creature. It's kinda worth the little money it costs just for the drama it puts me through.

This one was a blind buy based off the reviews and the intriguing fragrance notes. I am not at all disappointed! It's definitely leaning more feminine; the spiciness of the pink pepper and sourness of the goji berries is there but it's much sweeter than your average 'unisex' fragrance. I'm definitely getting a hint of vanilla so I'm surprised this isn't listed on the notes. It's sweet, cozy, but definitely has a hint of sexiness to it. I think anyone of any age can wear this one; it feels very adaptable. I personally can imagine wearing it to coffee dates on a cold, rainy day. Today I got a waft of it from my wrist while eating a fresh, hot cinnamon swirl - beautiful. My partner has also complimented it. My only criticism is I wish the longevity was better (I get about 2 hours before it's faint on my skin), but at it's current price I can't complain too much!

The opening is sweet from the apricot and goji berries. The pink pepper, coffee, saffron, and red lily sit in the background and give it sophistication. It's mild and not loud. The wood comes through in the open, but the dry-down just is fresh wood with a touch of sweetness. Doesn't project much but it really does sit close to the skin for 4-8 hours. Spray heavy and you'll get more projection and longer lasting scent on clothes. It's the type of scent you'll get used to real quick but others will definitely smell it. I'm a guy and to me all three Prerogative's smell very unisex if you have a good perfume taste palette. Yes, the original Prerogative is sweet but it's woody sweet, it's subdued yet sexy, and great for daytime or the office. I even wear it for relaxing at home. I love the whole line. They say I'm crazy. I really don't care ;P

Ok, wow! I am absolutely enamored with this dark, sexy scent, especially for the price. As many have mentioned below, Prerogative is very similar to Black Opium, carrying almost exactly the same seductive vanilla and coffee dry down. However, Prerogative opens with a more appealing, mouthwatering apricot, and dries down with less of the cloying sweetness of Black Opium. It's a sexier, more evolved version of the scent we all know and (some) love. Plus you'll get the personal satisfaction that no, you're not SO basic- it's Prerogative, not Black Opium, didn't you know (ha ha)? This scent is perfect for the club and third dates, but its effortless coziness also makes it wonderfully suitable for sweater weather and lazy autumnal walks. It's definitely feminine, not unisex as the makers claim. Definitely my favourite Britney scent!

Yes, this is divine. Yes, it’s akin to Black Opium. And yes, there is an unregistered vanilla note. If the target demographic for the Fantasy line is teens/early twenties, the target demographic for the Prerogative line is mid-late twenties all the way up to forties. Opens with a juicy pink pepper and floral burst. Dries down into a vanilla latte coffee scent. Well-blended. Classy. Elegant. Deep. I have gone through multiple bottles of this and will continue to do so. Personally, I prefer this to Black Opium as it omits the patchouli note. If Black Opium may be favoured by a woman in her forties—above, Prerogative smells that touch younger without being a teen/early twenties scent. Thoroughly taken aback and impressed by Prerogative. Prerogative Ego is also worth a blind buy too for anyone who is curious.

This will forever be a staple it is my signature scent and honesty.. I can’t live without it. Not unisex, kind of misleading in that regard. It is definitely mature feminine vibes. It is definitely less young teenage girl so I can understand the appeal for her gay male audience, but I wouldn't have marketed this as unisex. That being said this is so unlike any other perfume on the market. It’s as if Private Show, Fantasy and Sunset Fantasy had a baby. Sweet, comforting, warm, Amber vanilla ever so slightly musky, but wrapped in sweet rich tangy pink goji berries.. no other perfume smells like it although I would be curious to try some of the ones mentioned below as similar. I desperately need it and will have it in my collection even after buying new designer perfumes... I hope it never disappears!!!

I am in love with this fragrance, the sweetness and the coffee notes together are delicious. Wearing it on autumn afternoons here in Brazil is perfect. The sillage and specially its longevity is not good tough. I've been wearing it everyday for my home office and I have to spray it several times a day so I can keep feeling it without having to take my nose to my wrists. The fixation on my skin will project more the fruity and the coffee notes, while its fixation on my clothes will project a much more woody and floral scent. I am just in doubt about this fragrance being unisex. Just like me, my boyfriend loves woody and gourmand and spicy fragrances, but he found this one too sweet for his taste, and maybe the floral and fruity notes being so present turn this fragrance much more feminine.

Before I started getting into perfume, I would have never thought about buying or even trying a Britney Spears fragrance. No offense to Brit-Brit, I’ve been a fan since ‘99, but I thought her perfumes would basically be bubblegum in a bottle. I’m so happy I was so wrong. I wear this fragrance daily now, and though it doesn’t last super long on my skin (almost nothing does) the sillage is pretty good and the blend is just wonderful. It’s warm and spicy and just a liiiittle bit sexy, and that’s the persona I usually identify with on these work-from-home days. When we can return to offices and brunches, I’ll probably wear my white florals again, but for a winter in quarantine? This is perfect.

I love the smell of this perfume. This was my first Britney Spears scent and the smell didn’t disappoint but the performance sure tf did. I can’t really speak towards the similarity with Black Opium but I do not care for the YSL fragrance. I can sometimes struggle with coffee fragrances (like the Only One), especially since I don’t drink coffee but the coffee note here is very palatable. Undeniably feminine, fruity, and sweetest hint of depth. But the performance is hot garbage. Luckily, buying a whole bottle of this is essentially paying for a sample or two. But, even the dirt cheap pricing isn’t worth this ghostly performance. I wouldn’t repurchase just on principle.

I am a bit confused at how so many people do not smell Black Opium in this? Boy, body chemistry is really a thing. This smells very similar to me as Black Opium with a bit of a latex sort of note or smell and of course not as complex but very similar, and this is a dupe.. I can smell the coffee in this right away and on my skin it settles beautifully. I actually HATE Private Show and this smells NOTHING like it. Lol Private Show smells like fake milk powder. This perfume right here is gorgeous and so does not smell like Katy Perry Meow perfume either LOL I’m sorry, idk what some of y’all snorting LOL. I love this fragrance and I layer it w BO to be so extra. :)

This is absolutely divine to my nose! The first whiff of it I was sold and bought it immediately! The apricot is warm and rich, but not at all sickly sweet. To my nose there is a definite chocolate smell, possibly the coffee/sandalwood/saffron combo. This is really lovely, warming, smooth and very comforting. The first initial spray is slightly sharp/alcohol, but that goes away in seconds. I get about 4-5hrs of wear, which is fine for the price. I find this mostly linear, just sort of warms up and get creamier on my skin. I would definitely get a FB and will try the flankers for sure! I think it could be unisex for sure depending on the persons preference.

kinda obsessed with this, by far the best britney fragrance i've gotten to try! it smells delicious and inedible at the same time lmao. the coffee is light but noticeable and actually pairs well with the fruitiness of the goji berries / apricot + spice of pink pepper! people have mentioned a plastic-y scent with the "latex petals," but it reads more like pencil shavings to me which gives it a really lovely, woody depth. altogether a really intoxicating gourmand, albeit with mediocre longevity - but it's so cheap you could absolutely reapply throughout the day. got mine for $10 at burlington!

This is not linear whatsoever. At first I get a light Black Opium (no patchouli). Then I get powdery notes like Curve Crush. Then I get some gummy bear sweetness like Bonbon Pastel. It is AMAZING. I think this one just works really well with my body chemistry. It isn’t very juvenile either, I would say it’s good for all ages. It’s not super strong like headache inducing, but 1 spray is good for me all day. I find this to be more summery than wintery, but I am definitely going to try it this winter and see if it smells any different.

This is an awesome fragrance. I was originally interested in Private Show because of the coffee notes, but I read that this was a stronger and deeper version so I picked this instead. It does have a similar DNA to Black Opium, but without the liquorice and patchouli. This is a simpler, more linear, and lighter little sister. Which is not always a bad thing, it makes this an easier reach and appropriate for day time. On my skin, I get a lactonic coffee with light woodiness. Not as sweet as I anticipated, rather it's smooth and cozy.

To me, this smells very similar to black opium mixed with coffee and whiskey from bath and body works. So I layer them all together. Amazing scent that lasts hours. I put coffee and whisky lotion on, then body mist. Then I spray black opium and put on perogative last. It smells really good and they all go really well together. Smells like coffee break when I mix them all. It's quite pleasing to me. And I have a sensitive nose and allergies. Black opium makes me sneeze though. This does not. Happy it's so cheap.

This might not smell special to Most noses But to me this just smells so creamy warm and sexy it smells attractive and comforting in the same way and to me it’s one of those perfumes that have that addicting sensation where i always sniff myself when i have it on it’s very versatile you could never go wrong with this, you could never offend anyone with this it’s the right amount of sweet i love it and i reach for it in all seasons and my boyfriend loves it he always tells me that it smells pure on my skin✨

I have had this for a couple months now and I’ve loved it the whole time but today it smelled different. In a good way. Today I’m noticing it reminds me almost of Donna born in Roma. The pink pepper is what stands out the most and drew me to Donna so for me to finally be picking that note up in prerogative is awesome. I love this perfume and think it is well worth the money especially for the longevity and sillage it has. As far as celeb fragrances go, nothing tops prerogative and private show imo. :)

Wow! Gorgeous, intoxicating, strong sweetness! Mmmmmm its sooooo goooood! Ive tried black opium and its way too smoky spicy and no sweetness. This is pure blissful sweetness, creamy pinch of spice and smooth creaminess! Its pure delight! Dang Britney!!! You are the best perfumer! Ive been searching all around for a house that works with my style and my chemistry. I never thought til now to try your line. Im so glad i did! String and lasting with sillage too! Most perfumes dont have any of those!

i’ve used this perfume for years. the bottle is cute and is great value. it’s smells delightful and isn’t strong or overpowering. i have sensitive sinuses so i don’t like super pungent and potent perfumes. if you like a perfume you don’t want to spray several spritzes of, this might not be for you. it’s very pleasant smelling and i reach for it as my reliable staple. not sure about whether it’s all that unisex as i consider it rather feminine. all in all, good buy. but perfume is very personal.

This is quite similar to Black Opium. It’s not that similar to Private Show IMO - it’s a lot fruitier and deeper and less lactonic than PS. It’s slightly reminiscent to Fantasy to my nose, but much more grown up and deeper. I get deep vanilla with a hint of coffee and some dark slightly spicy fruits on top. It’s definitely sweet but I find it very wearable, compared with something as purely saccharine as Fantasy or a VS spray or something. I like it a lot. Longevity is about 5-6 hours on me.

Immediately reminded me of black opium on first sniff, and second and third sniff. It's definitely not an exact dupe, but they smell very similar. My husband and I did a sniff test. Prerogative on one arm and BO on the other. BO is much richer and more complex smelling, the patchouli in BO really stands out to me at first. But after a couple hours, they smelled almost the same. I bought a 3.4oz bottle. Longevity is about 4hrs on skin and days on clothes. A good blind buy in my opinion.

This smell took me by surprise. I remember at first when I sampled it I didn't like it but, I sprayed it on my shirt and the scent lingered for a long time and it wouldn't fade away so after a while I realized you know what that actually smells really good. I decided to purchase it and yes it's one of my favorites by Britney. This scent though is not really unique and it's not unisex at all but who cares wear what you like. The bottle is very pretty perfect for my Britney collection.

A mate of mine started wearing a new cologne recently. Really nice, thought I might buy it for myself. I asked him what it was and I was surprised to hear him start with the words Britney Spears, but the fragrance he mentioned was this one! Unisex? I guess I can see it but to be honest it suits my friend so well I think it's more of a masculine scent. Tried some on myself and, yeah, it's a thumbs up! It reminds me of A*Men Pure Coffee Mugler for men.

I think this is a pretty safe winter scent, there’s not a whole lot to dislike about it. Warm, cozy, creamy, and sweet; it’s a great inexpensive option if you find yourself looking for something warm for the winter. It’s definitely sweet but not to the point of being nauseating like rich warm sweets can be. On first spray I get cherry cough syrup but that dries down pretty quick and what’s left is a nice creamy coffee scent with a bit of sweetness.

Beatiful scent that is easy to wear. The coffee here is sweet and there are some milky/creamy undertones, which prevent it from being harsh or bitter. You do need to like sugary scents to enjoy this. The fruity apricot and berry make it uplifting and suitable for daytime. The strongest downside to this is how quickly it fades. After 2 hours I need to press the nose into my wrist to smell anything, which is a bit of a shame as it is delicious.

this is genuinely such a pretty scent once layered! i personally don’t like to pick up this scent on its own, as i find its just, not enough.. though, once layered with a vanilla perfume it truly does transform the smell in such a lovely way. it stands out so much and gives you a warm vanilla smell, and its not that sickly smell either! i 100% recommend if you have a simple vanilla in your collection, but as a singular perfume? maybe not.

One of my favorites from Britney! The scent is fleeting and doesn't last for long, but I sure do enjoy it while it's there. It's like the "diet" version of Black Opium that's somehow better. It's sweeter, smoother and not nearly as bold but still has a lovely air of sophistication. I'm 41-years-old and can easily see individuals younger or older than me enjoying Prerogative just the same. :)

I have Black Opium, Private Show, and Perogative. I think Perogative smells more like Private Show. It smells more fresh/fruity than Black Opium which is a deeper woody scent. But they do smell similar. Prerogative is sooooo good. Omg. I just discovered it and I cant live without it. I like youthful, more fresh fruity gourmands. I don't tend to go for classic, mature scents.

This is really good, especially for a celebrity scent. To me this smells like a diet version of D&G The Only One or as others have mentioned black opium. To me I can definitely smell the coffee note and some sweetness which I assume is the Vanilla. This doesn't have designer fragrance projection or lasting power but I would say this is a safe blind buy for most people.

I'm a big fan of Private Show and I blind bought Prerogative based on reviews saying they are similar. It's true. Prerogative is just as wonderful as Private Show. This is soft and creamy and the coffee notes are there, but not overpowering at all. Longevity and sillage are terrible, but I love this frag so much, I don't mind spraying several times through the day.

Gorgeous coffee woody scent. Absolutely unisex. Not one for females who are looking for a very feminine scent, nor for men looking for a very masculine scent. It's neither too much one way or the other, which is the whole point. In my opinion it's very well done. I'd wear it, a couple of my female friends wear it. They like it on me, I like it on them. 10/10

This is a nice ambery vanilla perfume. You do get other notes on opening but, to me, they dissipated rather quickly and were overpowered by the alcohol smell. On the dry-down, Prerogative becomes a warm sweet scent with a pinch of spice. I'm not getting much lily or coffee. Longevity and silage are pretty good. For the discounted price, it's a nice perfume.

This opens sweet and fruity then settles to a warm woody amber with coffee. The apricot seems to come through more in the drydown as well. It's quite strong for a celebrity fragrance and seems to last for a good 4-6 hours. It was a blind buy in a set of 4 Britney fragrances. I'm glad I got this and I might just buy a big bottle if I ever see it for cheap.

Black Opium's younger sister. My favorite coffee scent, slightly sweet, warm, and has just the right kick of spice. It doesn’t smell as mature as Black Opium, but it’s also not as youthful as Britney’s Fantasy. It hits that perfect middle ground. I’m on my third bottle, so needless to say... I love this one. Only complaint is that I wish it lasted longer.

This and Fantasy are probably my two favourites from the Britney Spears line. Prerogative is sweet without being overpowering and it smells delicious on clothes. Despite being marketed as a unisex perfume I think it smells more like a «girl » perfume but obviously anyone can wear it. Believe remains her more unisex perfume I think. Overall, a great buy!

I sprayed it on the pharmacy perfume counter and liked it, after work, when I got into my car I started smelling like cinnamon coated nuts, toasted marshmallow, and coffee. I could not decipher, where that delicious smell came from. Then I remember the pharmacy tester!!! wow. Definitely will return to buy it!!! Wonder how it will smell on my husband!!!

I gave away YSL Black Opium because the longevity and sillage were so poor, no matter how much I layered. I was so sad because the scent was lovely. But who cares now because this fragrance is it's younger hotter sister!! I own numerous niche fragrances and this is just as beautiful and long lasting as some of the lovely ones. Thank you Britney :)

This is a younger, sweeter version of YSL Black Opium. I purchased this to test out if this was truly unisex but felt that his is more feminine and does not give me any masculine notes. Regardless, I am very drawn to this scent and find myself smelling it every time I walk past it. This scent is perfect if you cant quite afford Black Opium.

TREMENDOUS DELIGHT I had an old batch, more than 8 years old I think, I just finished it, I'll buy another one that's for sure, just to let it rest until it has the strength of the original formula before the great reformulative disaster of ALL the Britney Spears line that occurred in 2018, right after of the global launch of PRERROGATIVE.
