Exotic Embers

Warm and glowing – embers indeed. Perfect as an antidote to the dampness and sodden leaves of late Autumn. Particularly enjoying the blood orange and tuberose mixed with nutmeg and cedar; the amber does hover somewhat and could be a bit more assertive; altogether a comforting scent which conjures up visions of enjoying a Really Good Book with a steaming hot drink on the side, all curled up with rugs in a Chesterfield in front of a roaring fire.

Really lovely. A warm, spicy scent with the ginger, labdanum, and cedar taking stage before softening down. My nose isn't good enough to distinguish just what it softens down to; the cedar, ginger, and nutmeg perhaps? I love it, it's like sitting in front of a warm fire on a snowy day with a blanket over a my knees, a good book, and a cat purring next to me.

Of the six Bronnley scents that I got in 4ml sample sizes, this is the strongest and longest-lasting; I reapplied only twice during the day, using a light touch! I cannot really distinguish the individual notes too well, with the exception of the cedar and ginger, within which there's a herbal note which I think must be galbanum. I guess this must mean that the fragrance is well blended. But the overall feeling I get is of an oriental woody scent, rather than floral. It's warm, and so probably best worn in cooler weather. It fades linearly. Recommended to all who enjoy woody scents; it's possibly ok for a man, too.

I bought this because it was a fiver, and I've been impressed by other Bronnley scents. When I did, the note pyramid did not have tuberose very prominently. I should have listened to Cali369's review, and the fact that it was voted similar to Armani Prive Rouge Malachite (don't know, haven't tried it, but the notes indicate it is heavy on the tuberose). I'd say this was a 'tuberose with other things in the background' perfume. The other notes tone it down and make it warmer, but still, I'm beginning to think I really dislike tuberose unless it's right at the bottom of the notes pyramid (but then, it was when I got it, so the voted notes are not always infallible).

to me this smells like a weaker d&g red cap.... very nice but not worth the money it costs
