New York for Ladies

Very safe, fresh floral. Very elegant. Well suited for weddings and other elegant affairs. Very classy, versatile perfume with some sharpness that keeps it fresh. Longevity is great on clothing but not on skin. Projection is good for the first 2 hours. Such an elegant perfume that I do not mind reapplying. If you are a fan of elegant, easy and pretty florals, you will like this. The tuberose comes forward in really high heat (above 90F) but this fragrance stays fresh, not gummy nor sweet. It is lovely. Great signature scent. This is easily a cornerstone in the spring/summer collection. Very much in line with Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.

This perfume is lovely! It's a gorgeous, light, feminine, fresh and very pretty fragrance that I adore wearing anytime. Warm or cold, it doesn't matter what the weather is, it smells beautiful. It's woody and florally. Lovely lovely flowers. Very elegant and pleasing - everyone loves it. Men especially, my husband being its biggest fan. He even puts a bit on himself occasionally - it's so refreshing and such lovely garden fresh smells. You really do feel as if you'e in a pretty, blooming garden. It's a gorgeous bottle too. Very feminine and adorable.

I used to have this and I adored it! I didn't think I would love it as much as I did but wanted to get a more green, natural scent, kind of like a walk in the woods while still having that sweet kick I still love. What I got was COMPLETELY different, though, and I was SO pleasantly surprised! It's so nostalgic, it reminded me of going to church when I was a little kid and immediately smelling that mix of clean wood, flowers, and the fruity, floral perfumes of the old ladies there. Love this one!!

This is a very soft, delicate floral. It's a skin scent, so you often only notice it when you move around and stir it up. It's non-offensive and it doesn't produce headaches (and I'm one who gets headaches from 3/4 of perfumes), which makes it perfect for office wear. I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion or a night on the town, but it doesn't get much better than this for a casual or business setting.

I abosolutely adore Brooks Brothers New York for Ladies. It is such a beautiful creamy floral scent. I love the slightly woodsy drydown. Nice year-round fragrance. The body lotion is wonderful too. Overall, New York for Ladies is one of my favorite fragrances.

Perhaps it's just my uncultured Canadian prairie taste, but Brooks Brothers conjures up these images of pinstriped suits and argyle sweaters bustling through nondescript Modernist high-rises. A workaholic's fragrance. To that end, New York for Ladies (NYFL) is perfectly suited to the image: a pale, whitey, conservative fruity-floral that gets interesting without being unpredictable. I tested the EDT on my arm and some pleasant green and pink florals swirled around for a while, only to vanish completely within an hour. It is for this reason alone that I cannot recommend this perfume - it just flashes off the skin without warning, which is a pity because the scent is so good. Perhaps it's best suited to subway commuting - mild and unobtrusive but maddeningly brief. If, however, you love the gauzy ethereal aspect of NYFL, I urge you to try Burberry Brit Sheer - it's the same bottle/juice colour and practically the same scent, a nice bunch of watery pink things incarnate.

This is simply a very nice, inoffensive, floral. And as such it seems to appeal to people who are usually not fond of florals or worry about offending others with their scents. But for me, it falls into the "office scent" catagory, which means I just can't get excited about it. I do smell soft florals and musk. It has little to no sillage on my skin and fades away to a soft skin scent almost immediately. I do wish it had more strength and duration, because the notes are ones I generally like. I just want to be reminded of them over the course of the work day, and with this scent I would have to be spraying constantly or I would forget I had ever applied it. To be honest, I don't share an office, so maybe I am underestimating the importance of not offending.

This was given to me as a Christmas gift from my 13-year old daughter, chosen because she thought the bottle was pretty. And the first word that came to my mind when I tried it is "Pretty," and that's the word that remains as I catch faint whiffs of it throughout the day. It's a nice, light breeze of white flowers. Absolutely non-offensive, very pleasant. Upon first sniff, I thought it would be just right for an outdoor wedding. As it is currently below zero where I live, I am saving this for days when I can open the windows and walk outside. Lovely.

If I was female I would totally wear this. A family friend bought a miniature bottle of this and I snuck a couple of sprays onto my jacket for testing purposes. This is a lovely fragrance all around.

Woodsy old fashioned, church vibes, not for me.

Bravo to Brooks Brothers premiere female fragrance! It's a hit and worthy of praise. It's professional, personable and highly suitable for the working world. Put on that pinstripe suit and put the finishing touches on your latest project before putting on a dab of this sophisticated feminine floral woody. Let the turbulent tuberose motivate you for a busy day at the office. The concoction of the succulent pear and crispness of the citrusy orange , with its invigorating qualities, promotes the energy required for productivity. The power play of the purple hyacinth and it's grape essence associates well with the jubilant jasmine and sets the tone of confidence and conviction. The influence of the greenness obtained from the oris root is well appreciated and unites perfectly with the oncoming dry down. Finalizing your day with the scent of the fiery Brazilian rosewood then tapering off with the mellowness of the the musk, this fragrance with it's longevity, will have you feeling like you've accomplished a successful day.

Happily, I can wear this! I was waiting for a headache to come on, because I've has so many issues with sensitivities to scent, and some of the notes in this were likely to be triggers. So far, so good. It's a well-balanced, light and fresh scent of white and purple florals, where no one note seems to dominate. It's not particularly unique, but it is well-executed and quite pretty. I like how the musk and orris root balances the florals, but I don't get all that much of the wood notes, which might have made this better. Sillage is not extreme, in fact, this is almost a skinscent, as a few others have mentioned. I get a very light watery accord, but not aquatic, which I'm thankful for. Edit: Argh, I can't wear this. First full day wearing it, and I've had a low-grade headache all day. That is a pity, since this is such a lovely scent.

I have the taller bottle without design on it. This is the most beautiful, delightful fragrance I have ever smelled! I've been on a perfume buying spree, trying to find fragrances that I actually like. I really didn't expect anything from this, but oh my! It's so beautiful! I can't stop sniffing my wrist! Most perfumes just don't work with my chemistry, especially those popular fragrances. I've never heard of this before but I picked it up a big bottle for $9.99 from Marshalls. I forgot I bought it actually until I went in my perfume closet and saw it still in the box wrapped up in back. I tried it and it's gorgeous! It reminds me of juicy couture, juicy couture. But this is such a beauty, I'll buy this for the rest of my life! It is lovely from beginning to end. It's the perfect spring fragrance! I love it!

So many great notes, and so affordable! The bottle is gorgeous and I thought this one would be a winner. Alas, no. The first spritz was sweet and floral and pretty but that changed about 30 seconds later and has gotten sharper and sharper over the last hour. I was searching for tuberose in this, it is nonexistent. I can't even tell individual notes because it is not smooth or well blended to my nose or on my skin. I can see the potential for beauty here, and maybe I am just searching for something less linear and less of a 'one trick pony'. If you like bright florals, this will float your boat. It is not my thing AT ALL.

I have a teeny tiny bottle of this perfume that appeared on my dresser one day (I suspect it was part of a gift set that my mother did not want), and after spraying it on after a shower I was really quite impressed with it! It's a crisp, clean floral with quite a prominent tuberose kick at the beginning, which settles down into a green, floral, very slightly woody scent. Stays quite close to the skin, however, but is the kind of thing I would love to try wearing on a warm summers day as the scent itself is so sunny and happy.

This was a blind buy from TJ Maxx and my bottle does not look as fancy as the one pictured above. This was a really nice blind buy! Very spring like. Hyacinth can be difficult to pull off in a perfume but here is it done in a way that is transparent and clean. This smells very innocent and above the board. A church girl scent maybe. I wore it on a date and got asked to slow dance. Ha! So maybe it's not too innocent IDK. It does remind me slightly of the lovely but discontinued RL Lauren Style.

My mom purchased a bottle 2day and gave me a good whiff when I saw her... This is a very safe an grown up alternative to the everday fruity-floral That I normally wear day 2 day... I'm definitely smelling some green notes in there along with florals and also a kiss of woods... Its a very inoffensive fragrance suitable 4 the office and perfect 4 year-round usage...

It's pretty. Safe scent. It doesn't project for more than 15 minutes. The bottle shown in the picture must've been the previous edition. Nowadays, it comes in a cheap, rectangular bottle.

Nothing special .. It's an ok perfume ..
