Nothing like a vacay to reset your sense of smell. I went to Disney and what a perfect scent to bring a long! It was just perfect, walking down Main Street smelling al the gourmand and sweet scent (which I believed to be piped in!) this mixed in well. Such a beautiful scent for summer and a day at Disney or a day at a fair. Is this unusual not at all, but I do enjoy it when I want a fun fragrance. I get the sugar, the apple, black current and the cherry all the way through. Does it last long, no it’s definitely a respraying type of scent but used lotion and of course the atmosphere I was in, it helped with longevity. Recommended if you like gourmandy fruity fun fragrance. Is it for everyone no, but if you want summer fun, it works great!

I've been looking for a good cotton candy fragrance for years. As much as I wanted to love other ones such as Aquolinas Pink Sugar I just can never get past the burnt sugar and licorice notes. Carousel doesn't have those gross notes in it. The cotton candy is more subtle (but still recognizable in the scent) and it uses other fragrances to balance out the sweetness. As strange at this combination sounds, I really notice a beautiful blend woody, sweet, fresh, and fruity notes when wearing it and I'm obsessed! I'm so happy I've finally found a spun sugar fragrance that actually gives cotton candy and not rotten randy.

I cannot believe sephora shipped this so fast. I already received and have smelling it on a paper tester and my skin. on the tester, it is very airy and sugar, a bit like strawberry milk. On my skin, the apple comes out much more. Still sweet, but more tart and leathery. This is such a surprising combo. I am so glad I bought the full size. I will be wearing this a lot. I imagine it layers really well with Dare.

Came back to Carousel after about a year apart. Funny how a change of pace and a tropical place, can completely change your perspective. What once sat quietly on my shelf now feels right at home in Kona. Soft, effortless, and kissed by the ocean breeze, it finally clicked for me. Sometimes the fragrance doesn’t change... your surroundings do. 🌺🌊

wowww this is sooo good!!! the notes were making me a little nervous with the leather and cherry notes (i hate both) but they work really well with the super sweet top notes. i can see how this would be reminiscent to silk santal because it does dry down to be a sweet sandalwood. i’m gonna wear this today and see how it develops :’)

Wow I really love this! It is a grown up cotton candy that’s giving sexy fair date. The cherry leather adds such a seductive depth that I am in love with. It’s sweet but not childish, and juicy but not too fruity. This is so addictive to me! Definitely one of my latest favorites.

Smells a lot like Kayali Wedding Silk Santal. Spun sugar goodness. This is one of my sweet guilty pleasures. Okay sillage and longevity.

Okay, so I think it is a beautiful fragrance, however for the price, I think there’s plenty that smell really similar at 1/4 the cost, for example I think Lattafa Yara Candy smells extremely similar to this, and although they are not twins, they’re closely related and it’s way cheaper, I sprayed carousel on myself all day today, and no one could really smell it, it didn’t have much sillage, the dry down is honestly just a pretty and creamy vanilla but nothing special, I would just save money and buy Lattafa Yara Candy for the same vibe instead of repurchasing, don’t get me wrong I love carousel but I just think why waste your money when there are way cheaper alternatives

this really takes you through the top, middle, and base notes as opposed to being a single blended smell. smelled bubblegum-ish in the opening & evolved into the deep leather/cherry base. similar whimsical experience to the Cirque du Soleil perfume but not similar in actual scent imo. I also find it more wearable than that one bc I get a perfume-y touch here

This is very apple-y on me, which can be a little bit much in the summer. I'm looking forward to trying it in the fall and winter though! It's a sweet, fruity scent on me that isn't too cloying. The leather notes add depth and make it less feminine. I think it's very unisex, slightly leaning feminine.

It’s like The Wedding Silk Santal & Cirque du Solei had a baby! If you’re afraid of rose, no worries. I don’t smell that note at all. I guess it’s a gourmand due to it having a prominent edible note but it’s not heavy at all. The dry down is sweet and musky ❤️

It’s ok, but I much prefer Carnivale. I already have L’Eau from Cirque du Soleil, Eden Juicy Apple, Sublime etc.

Apple is brief. Florals come through rather quickly, all within 30m of application. Cherry/leather/musk give it an androgynous vibe which I like. Smooth mix with nothing sharp poking out. A DREAM on paper but my nose/chemistry suggests otherwise. Easily not in my top preferences of Brown Girl Jane selections. Bae would need to be skin to skin to notice this one, I have to pull nose deep to skin to distinguish notes on my own. Beautiful musk in the end.

I like the initial juicy burst of apple, but then it fades VERY quickly and it starts to smell somewhat musty/sour. I bought a sample set and am working my way through testing them, but this house doesn't seem to sit well on my skin and I'm disappointed by the lasting power.

I think this is a pretty fall fragrance. It leans a little potpourri to my nose, and I like more of a perfumy fragrance, but pretty nonetheless.

This smells like a middle eastern dupe of a bunch of Kayali fragrances I don't like, but more unisex. It definitely reminds me of that vanilla sweetened, patchouli, amberwood combo that's in VCRS, Silk Santal and Vanilla 28 that makes me nauseous. I don't think I like the the leather. I also can struggle with apple and cherry, so I should have known better. Returning my travel size. Wish my Sephora carried BGJ in store, so I didn't have to blind buy. If you like those Kayali fragrances, but want slightly more edge, you might like this, but unfortunately it just hits most of my nausea triggers.

Patchouli bomb! I don’t see the note listed but wowww! This also pulled slightly masculine on me and became a scrubber after I gave it an hour to chill. After washing my hands at least 5 times since, I’m now in bed and can still smell this on the back of my hand. Unfortunately I hate it so much.

Leather, warm sugar and musk. On paper, this is more complex than on my skin. Unfortunately, on skin there is no caramel apple, no fruit and no florals. It is a rich leather scent, with warm sugar and musk. I think this could be highly addictive on my husband, but I didn’t enjoy it in myself.

This fragrance took me on a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Overall, I find this overwhelmingly similar to Kayali’s Wedding Silk Santal. It has a lot of similarities, particularly in the dry down. When I first smelled this in store, I thought it was a lot sweeter (most likely because I had sampled many frags beforehand), so I expected more fruitiness when I finally tested it on my skin. Upon first spraying it at home, I swear I got that green apple note, but it was incredibly fleeting. Fast forward to wearing it a fair amount of times, I don’t seem to get the green apple at all anymore. I do get a fresh burst of fruitiness in the opening though. It’s similar to the bubbly champagne-like opening of Silk Santal, except this one is juicier. The dry down of Carousel is much less bitter on me than Silk Santal and between the two, Carousel works better with my chemistry and is a lot more pleasant. I prefer the opening of both of these vs the dry down... Because they’re so similar, I’m surprised at the scathing criticisms of Carousel. Silk Santal, on the other hand, appears to have a devoted cult-like following that insists it’s groundbreaking. While I love many of Kayali’s offerings, I don’t agree with the Silk Santal hype and I feel like it was only sought after due to its initial scarcity. This scent profile is everywhere these days, which is why people have compared Carousel to Cloud. Pass a gaggle of high school girls in any mall and you’ll get a strong whiff of this same exact DNA. Carousel is prettier than SS and Cloud though. It’s the winner when it comes to this scent profile because it dries down smoother, somehow more refined and a touch sweeter and more feminine. The other two leave me with a rather jarring musky dry down. If you have Silk Santal, this one is redundant and I don’t say that often. They’re like two underwhelming fraternal twin sisters... not awful, slightly playful but overall still boring.

Not sure how I feel about this one... The opening is kinda muddy. I can’t make out any other notes except for the apple, which is very tart (and bordering into the dreaded musty territory), and the caramel, which lends no real sweetness to the fragrance at all (well, that’s what they promised, right?) Not gonna lie, the drydown is pretty masculine and not what I expected from this at all, given the playful cutsie marketing BGJ has been pushing since its release. *On me (let me underscore that cause I’ve seen some members coming for my perception of some frags), this could belong to the same family as Casablanca by Swiss Arabian (minus that awful Peru Balsam note) or Jimmy Choo Vanilla Love minus the spice. Edit: I’ve come back to this after letting it sit for some time and wow! I am pleasantly surprised! The apple and spun sugar are turned up a notch. It really does smell like a caramel apple that has been freshly bitten. The apple flesh vibe they were trying to convey now softens the masculine type musk they decided to use, which is a relief. I am very happy with this now.

First spray I get a sour green apple jolly rancher. I think the sourness is coming from the blackcurrant which I sometimes have a hard time with as it can come off too harsh to my nose. The sweet notes mix with the slight musky notes in the base save it for me. There is also a bit of bubblegum that makes it so fun. The sourness stays but mellows out over time. When it dries all the way down on skin after a few hours I swear it smells like a horse/horse saddle but not in a bad way. I think the leather and sandalwood notes are what give it a slight masculine kick, but to me it feels sexy and makes it more interesting. Overall it's a very fun, playful perfume without being too juvenile and I'm really enjoying it!!

This is delightful!!! I get the apple right away , it’s sweet and fruity, reminds me of wedding silk santal a little bit with the spun sugar being more prominent, smells like apple , apricot ? I swear it almost smells like bubble gum , then it dries down into a beautiful caramel bomb , sweet and warm . I don’t really get any cherry or leather but the caramel and apple stick out a lot , I can’t help but get similarities to the kayali vanilla sugar rock candy , as that one has both the wedding silk santal and bubblegum aspects I get from this . This is a beautiful scent and I am so glad I grabbed it . Wonderful going into fall .

Oh I love this! My fave Brown Girl Jane! SO yummy at first-- I thought I was all grown up (45 next week!) but this is DELIGHTFUL! A carousel at the carnival! With even leather horse saddles! I ADORE THIS! I hate paying retail for these, however.... I have a 10ml right now and that might be fine. So far, the sillage/longevity isn't great... the perfume is NEW and I find BGJ need time to mature/rest and then they exceed all expectations. We'll see. Ok I just tried this out at Sephora tonight. It’s smells delicious. Not sure why people are saying this is female. Like a previous reviewer said, this has a male undertone with it and is very much so unisex. At the top it’s fluffy enough for a girl to LOVE IT and in the base it’s balanced enough for a male to love it. It somewhat remind me of City Rhythm Miami with City Rhythm giving a bit more PUNCH with the base.

I was influenced by KathleenLights to try this perfume. It's a unisex gourmand that gives off cozy fall and Halloween vibes. The opening has a playful bubblegum-like sweetness, but as it dries down, it takes on a more masculine edge with the leather note coming through. I can smell the apple but not the cherry—so if cherry isn’t your thing, there’s no need to worry. Perfect for crisp autumn days.

Serious STUNNER of a unisex fragrance. Starts out sweet and playful with the candied apple and cotton candy then as it dries down the leather comes in with gives off a fougère type vibe mixing with the musk sandalwood, but the cherry keeps a little sweetness lingering around. It took my nose a day to sync to it but then, absolute love!

To my surprise, this came across very masculine on my skin. I really wanted to like this, but I got none of the notes that pulled me in - caramel red apple, spun sugar, not even then cherry. Granted, it’s very well blended as you can’t really pinpoint each note. However while it’s a nice fragrance, it’s just not for me.

A very pretty girly pop fragrance. Sugary caramel like apple with hints of soft leather and the musky drydown is sexy, giving it neck nuzzling vibes. I love the way it smells on my skin and clothes. The projection is great and the people around me were able to smell it and complemented me on how lovely I smelled.

I blind bought this fragrance because I love everything from this house and it did not disappoint!!! It's fruity without being juvenile. The leather note just serves to ground the fragrance but isn't a major player.

Same scent profile as kayali yum boujee marshmallow, this is more floral on the skin, yum marshmallow is more gourmand and creamier. You don’t need both pick one

Exquisite and rich. This is a sugary caramel apple wrapped in a cherry glaze. I don’t really get the other notes than those. It’s strong but not too strong.

imagine kayali vanilla and eden apple in one perfume and despite what everyone says, it’s pretty sweet on me and pretty feminine

Very silk santal but it has some masculine undertone on initial note. I love it tho weirdly enough.
