I really love this fragrance! I’m not usually a tropical coconut type perfume lover but this is a much more sophisticated beachy scent. It is sweet and warm but also fresh and floral. I love the combo of the sweet lemon to balance the coconut. I would not say this smells like sunscreen at all. I wear this a lot in the summer. Longevity isn’t amazing but I’m ok with having to reapply occasionally. This is a perfect scent for a vacation, I took it to Hawaii with me and it was great to wear day and night. I also paired it with a rollerball of “alien goddess inspired” perfume oil and it was a lovely combo for added longevity.

Smelled this at Nordstrom. It is a beautiful scent It starts out like a beach vacation in Hawaii. If I can paint you a picture- you decide to head straight to the beach protecting yourself with expensive sunscreen. You lay out and the sun is warm and there is a fresh breeze so you taste a little salt water. When you get thirsty someone brings you a pina colada and then you get ready to go inside and change for dinner someone in the hotel lobby places the most beautiful flowers on your head and neck. This perfume changes over time, not linear at all. My son and husband love it, and they never like anything!

Lamu is the hidden gem in the collection in my opinion. Brands try to do the beach vacation scent and it smells like sunscreen, but this captures the essence of that coconut and lemon perfectly while also being on of a kind. I also love the transparency around the ingredients and sustainability.

This is my first from Brown Girl Jane and it definitely did not disappoint! I’m slowly starting to become a citrus fragrance lover. Many years ago, I avoided most scents with citrus notes because they make me nauseous and also reminded me too much of cleaning products. Now I’m finding myself being drawn to them and excited to stumble upon another one that surprises me. This is a very bright, solar floral fragrance. Reminiscent of sunscreen, but not in a way that makes me annoyed or sick. It’s slightly sweet from the coconut, a little woody, and a little musky. The sage doesn’t overpower the fragrance at all, and I feel like I’m getting a orchestra of all the notes in equal doses. It’s very lovely and I think it’s going to be absolutely beautiful for the summertime. It has okay projection and I can’t comment on longevity yet. So far so good though! I’m extremely happy with this blind buy and even more so knowing that this is a Black-owned brand. I’m definitely going to have to check out their other scents now!

There is a fantasy element to this, Lamu smells like a mermaid sunning herself on a secluded beach surrounded by white florals and lemon trees. Its a breezy, citrus, summer scent that is nothing like sunscreen. But I went through my entire travel size in one day because it would last less than an hour on my skin. I was lucky if I got 30 minutes of wear. Lamu is one of the most beautiful citrus/solar perfumes I have ever smelled. But is also one of the worst performing perfumes that I have ever tried. I would try again if it’s reformulated to improve the performance. But I would not purchase a full size at this time. 5/10

Initially, this smells like a dolls head. Idk how to explain it. It’s nostalgic somehow. It reminds me of my childhood. It then turns into a sunscreen type of smell. It’s smells VERY similar to Happy Heart by Clinique... which I don’t like. I’m going to give this a go in the warmer months to see if it’ll get better. ):

Fresh, bright summertime fragrance, citrus balanced out by coconut-- so softer, not a pungent sharp citrus. Put on after a shower to smell freshly showered. It only lasted an hour or so, very light barely noticeable.

Simple summer beachy scent. Nothing surprising here. Well blended and linear. Smooth and non-offensive. For those not looking for a strong scent.

Really wish my nose could block out the white florals in this, but I can’t. I only get that musty gardenia. I get nothing that smells like coconut in the least which is unfortunate, because I was really hoping for a creamy, beachy coconut milk. I don’t even smell any lemon at all. Some seem to get that, though, but this is just not for me. Smells too mature.

I’m not a citrus fan, so take this review with a grain of salt. Something about this smells synthetic, almost like windex and sunscreen. It’s a summer fragrance and as it’s dried down, it starts to smell a tad better.

Pineapple coconut vacation in a bottle but there are many scents out there that smell like this. I layered with B&BW’s Pineapple Coconut. They smell so similar. Not so good longevity and sillage. Not full bottle worthy.

basically take the vacation fragrance and crank everything up a notch- less sunscreeny but more of everything else- tropical floral, salty, solar citrusy. easy summer scent.

White florals with lemon and sandalwood. Not my favorite, but i don’t hate it. Fairly strong. Gives me a little suntan lotion vibe.

Light floral but more coconut sun tan lotion. I'm here fornit . It could last longer tho !
