Silenzio

I tried all three new versions and was torn between them. I fell in love with Segreto, although I also liked Silenzio. It was difficult to buy both because I wanted something from a different house, so the saleswoman gave me a tester to learn more about it. After several tries, I fell in love with it, even though it reminds me somewhat of Outcast Blue by EX N, but with a more beautiful and luxurious composition. The fragrance isn't very unique, but it's beautiful, its performance is wonderful, and it's definitely worth trying. I'm seriously considering buying it next winter, God willing. 🥰

I told the sales assistant I wanted a divine, luxurious scent. She immediately showed me this one and raved about it. It’s also 30% off, so the 100ml bottle now costs €220. I almost bought it on impulse, but I’m glad I didn’t; considering it only lasts about three hours, it’s not worth the price. It’s summer today—dry air, 28°C in the city—and the perfume isn't too heavy; it’s perfectly wearable and doesn't feel suffocating. Once it reaches the dry-down phase, it becomes ordinary and boring. At first, it’s sunny, elegant, and luxurious—it made me feel like a wealthy middle-aged woman in a high-end boutique, wanting to turn heads. It’s unisex but leans towards the feminine side; I can’t picture a man wearing it. My nose isn't refined enough to distinguish the dominant notes or the specifics of the dry-down, but I do know it isn't woody, which I like. I’ll think about it—maybe I’ll buy it in the autumn. It’s been a long time since I found a perfume like this: one that isn’t suffocating or overly sweet, yet is strong and sophisticated. Still... there’s something missing, though I can’t quite know what it is.

Cucinelli brand is 'quiet luxury', ie. basic n timeless classics that cost loads but have more taste than character. This is the quiet(ish) tasteful amberwood, not quite 'exquisite taste' (that would be their Femme) but smoother than most. The notes look like they might be otherworldly wonderful but they're just.. so well balanced. On a knife edge. It is warm, cuddly, maybe sexy, but threateningly precise. And it fades away (skin scent in eight hours but the amberwood is smell able on clothes until washed) with astonishing politeness considering its beginning. I imagine Katia Jovonovich from John Wick 4 smells like this.

I tested Silenzio three times, and for three times I fell in love. This might be the most beautiful Saffron scent I have ever tried. Unfortunately, the performance is quite weak, lasting no longer than three hours on skin. This is the only reason I refrain from buying it: it is not exactly a cheapie, so I might go for a partial bottle or decant. Nonetheless, this is a masterpiece. No rubber feeling, no dentist or latex smell, this perfume faithfully reproduces a jar of Iranian saffron with all its beautifu facets. Totally unisex, radiates at arm's length. Elegant, velvety, fragrant, magic. 10/10
