Iranzol – Extrait de Parfum

Monotropa uniflora, colloquially known as Ghost Pipe, or Indian Pipe, is a plant that grows in the forest, all-white or pale pink, a non-photosynthetic plant containing no chlorophyll. Instead, it is a mycoheterotroph, meaning that it has a symbiotic relationship with fungi, in which the plant gets all or part of its food the mycelia underground. It is hauntingly beautiful, and long been one of my favorite species, yet it has no fragrance of its own. However, if it had a fragrance, I imagine that Iranzol is what it would smell like. Envision the forest floor, early autumn, the air is somewhat cooler now but the sun is still warm, and the earth is fruiting with mushrooms with bright colors, viscid violet cort, amanitas, jack-o-lantern. There's over ripened vegetation, snapped stems leaking guttation, the dust of a billion spores from ancient organisms, the sap of forest primeval, and towering gymnosperms. Then there is a cluster of Ghost Pipe at the tail end of their long season, at the apex of maturity, nodding blooms, in a corner where little sun reaches them. Iranzol embodies the old wood, the must of the overgrown in the meadow, yarrow, lovage, and tansy, a fatty, thick, pale green aroma, like freshly expelled angelica root oil. Mossier than mere oakmoss, More lichen-y than mere lichen, a sublime pungency. Yet this is elevated by the outline of rose oxide and jasmine indole, a tint of alpha ionone, a floral perimeter, which aids in the myth that this would be the smell of the Ghost Pipe in its dim sanctuary. It's muddled with herbs like mint and the heat of summer savory, and hints of fading, somber summer grasses in late September. There's a bitter garnet myrrh lurking under the surface, flowing like lymph, and musks of a damp, voluptuous—spherical quality, an aura like foxfire at dusk, kneeling to the soil, heaving its sensuality. Iranzol is one of the few perfumes I'd categorize as mystical.

Definitely an experience, the likes of which I have not had since my beloved Chypre Mousse. Iranzol starts out smelling like mushrooms. I find this scent to be more "musty" than "musky". It makes my stomach a tad queasy at first, but then comes this lovely, bright, pure note of galbanum. I really hate to say this, I really, really do, but I am determined to write honest reviews of my true impressions...but the first 20 minutes of this perfume reminds me of soiled ladies underwear. Maybe someone who has a little candida problem "down there". However, I am happy to report that, given some time to let the other notes bloom, Iranzol becomes something really agreeable: a powdery, slightly floral, musky, scent that is like the scent of skin. The skin of people who slept in really late, so they don't wreak, but it's time to take a shower. I know my description doesn't make it sound appealing, but it is. It is an animalic musk, but the animal is a human being. And it's faint. The powdered flowers and the green galbanum add up to a very agreeable, even a little addictive, musk perfume. This might be my perfect dirty musk. Think L'Air de Rien without vanilla and more green. Iranzol is worth testing for any adventurous perfume lover. I'm falling in love with the stuff.... Update: Purchased the FB and it's FABULOUS from the spray bottle with a nice, thick spray. I actually like the mushroomy-ness, but as it dries down it becomes my perfect dirty, sweaty, musty animalic musk mixed with laundry detergent musk. Super funky. Super love it. Also I adore the chic and shiny bottle.

A very particular perfume that reminds me of the wet earth after the rain, autumn! It is a very intense and memorable perfume! A must for those who love this type of perfume, it is certainly unforgettable, it is a dip in the ancient times of the past! Beautiful. Sillage: 9./10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

To me, this is the smell of a sumptuous old mansion's bedroom: a thick, refined and truly erotic parfume, fixed in the tapestries, furniture, drapes and linings, that still tells about secret and sinful love affairs. Beast mode. Top notch. 10/10

FANTASTIC. DON't NEED JASMIN maybe 8 / 10

I’ve worn Iranzol on and off for the past several weeks after acquiring a full bottle in a trade. It’s spicy, dirty and delicious. Feels like the kind of scent your body would naturally make if you were on a two week camping trip and weren’t able to shower with soap. This review probably sounds like I don’t like it but I do. My only issue is that it’s a little too masculine, so I’ve decided to let it go.

Iranzol is the scent that taught me I hate Galbanum. I knew that I SHOULD like it given almost all the other notes. So i did something I hadn't done before, which was to look up scents with just that one note to see if I recognized others I didn't like. BINGO BANGO! Turns out I learned something very useful. If it has galbanum then run in the other direction! I gave this scent more time than I wanted to, because of all the reverence expressed here. But at one point, this was straight up mashed potatoes on me. Oy.

Extrait version. July 2021. Woody Green Chypre - The very realistic smell of a Forrest after the rain. Green vegetation. Damp earth, soil. Leaves. Autumnal and outdoorsy. Not sure why it’s classed as an amber or oriental. The drydown is dry and very old school Chypre to me. Definitely leans masculine. Smells a lot like green tea to start, but ultimately with a lot more complexity. Yes, the famous Bruno Acompora mushroomy musk is there, but only briefly for me. Closest I have smelt so far is Devil’s Nigjtcap (For the ‘back to nature’ Druid feeling into evokes and Aromatics Elixer for the classic, more refined green Chypre It recalls. But overall it’s quite different. Beautiful goldtone spray bottle is gorgeous and practical- FINALLY! Extrait Parfam in a spray! (Much nicer that the EDP version pictured) Feels substantial and luxury in your hand) Looking forward to trying more from this brand. This has a lovely, vintage and otherworldly vibe that is totally unique and reminiscent of a beautiful green Italian fairytale Forrest, after the rain. Not blind buy safe. For lovers of vintage only.

it smells very strongly of cumin , not my cup of tea it is very strong and honestly a bit on the hoochie side in the best posible way , i mean if you like your musk super dirty cumin like this i guess would be for you !

Remind me ommages of an ancient past, garden, forest, castle in the night. Very long lasting scent, with a combination of musc very animalic and a mix of earth and wood. Beautifull....

Musk, patchouli, amber, and doses of sandalwood, & galbanum. It has also some rice, and roses. Dust is available too.
