Brut Musk

As for the remarks of Miss/Mrs Kajira Suzanne, please read the following: Brut Musk is a musky, spicy, woody, amber, tobacco BOMB - probably you know and like other bombs. (Examples: Spice Bomb or Versace Man Black). You must know how to use them. With Brut Musk, you must use just a very small portion and then wait 5 minutes or so for all the notes developp correctly, before smelling it. It lasts an eternity and the fragrance is very agreeable. My 16 years old son has 1 flask of 100 ml recently open and a full back up bottle. And I may tell you that he is quite successful using this fragrance and attracts lots of compliments from his girlfriends.. People complain about a faint sillage and longevity... well, Brut knows how to do it. Like Mr. Baron Corvo says: "It's likely that if you go into a shop and spray a generous blast of a tester bottle on your wrist, you'll disappoint yourself. Done this way, it just smells sweet, like caramelized sugar, with a burnt rubber undertone and after an hour you'll be desperate to wash it off." My son and their friends learn the trick and with a 5 Euros bottle of perfume by Brut, they party till late hours and still come home with a nice scent instead of smelling like a sweaty skunk after long hours of dancing. I saw the very same type of comments with a Women ́s perfume masterpiece called TABU from DANA. Do check its reviews in Fragrantica. It's either hated by snobbish people who do not know how to use it, or loved by experienced users who know how to use it. It was launched about 100 years ago (like Chanel no5) and it's still around and selling well. Yes I do have Tabu, Chanel no5, Arpege from Lanvin and Diva by Ungaro (all bomb perfumes from 100 years ago). I also have L'Eau d'Yssey, Sisley Eau du Sour, Rush by Gucci, Angel and Alien from Mugler, Lolita Lempika, Chance from Chanel, Midnight Poison... and so on. And I am proud because my son knows how to use well Brut Musk. On top of it, It's totally within his budget. I do not buy his perfumes.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 020 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased May 2017 Manly and polarising as hell, for the cheapest price possible. With this flanker you get to be yourself. It's practically Houbigant/Coty Monsieur Musk and Brut combined, leathery and spicy (which is mistaken for rubber) while musky too. Some of the best synthetic (duh) animalic musk is in this one. They'll hate it but it'll grown on 'em. 2024 Update: To all who say "this is old" because only the young say ignorant things like that as if they originated the "concept that new is best/old is bad"; Nobody gives a rat's arse what you think.

A cheap yet old-fashioned perfume that definitely reminds you of the old days. The mixture between musk and tobacco definitely blends well. Best to apply after showering or going to a professional setting. However, it lacks longevity and sillage, with the bare minimum amount of sprays usually disappearing after 1-2 hours. It's best if you apply them consecutively over time or spray a little bit more for longevity. It shouldn't be your main concern considering the perfume is dirt cheap yet smells brilliant.

It has a very similar scent to the original brut; clean, slightly spicy orange-blossom. It's fresh, bracing, obviously muskier, with vanilla and a light tobacco note. After a while there are also faint hints of an indistinguishable spice alongside citruses. There is the occasional waft of "baby powder" (maybe from Amber?) but you either mind that or you don't. Projection and longevity are moderate but ok for the price. A suprisingly wearable, quaint, masculine scent that's good for all year wear.

Waw... So much hate on this fragrance. I don't own the edt but i often buy the deodorant and it's my favorite casual deodorant. the way i see it is that it's axe but for adults. Axe IS nauseating but this.. come on guys, it's very sophisticated for a casual deodorant. And if you don't like musk try other bruts

musk and tobacco. not for a full day and not powerful but it smells good. it reminds old barber times :) use it for aftershave or one hour period.

This was my Dad's signature scent. He passed back in June of 2020 and his (now my) truck still smells like this stuff. love ya dad.

Fabergé (as they were then) must have done research and consumer testing before releasing Brut Musk, so someone must have said they liked it. It's also still being sold, so someone must be buying it. I am currently among them, but I should add a few remarks of explanation. It's likely that if you go into a shop and spray a generous blast of a tester bottle on your wrist, you'll disappoint yourself. Done this way, it just smells sweet, like caramelised sugar, with a burnt rubber undertone and after an hour you'll be desperate to wash it off. When this is applied differently, there is in fact a fresher floral top that hangs around for a while above the cumin or anise that people seem to find so offensively overwhelming. It's a musk fragrance, so it's always going to be somewhat strong, but spraying on too much is guaranteed to be disastrous. Brut Musk's great benefit is that its longevity and sillage is way above that of most other fragrances. This can also be it's curse if over-applied. Apply lightly, by depressing the atomiser only halfway. Just once onto the chest under a t-shirt or shirt so that it is slightly muted. The after shave is easier to control than the EdT and is not as pungent. It's probably not the fragrance for a romantic date, though people's tastes differ.

Okay, this is a good quality musk. But the opening man... it's funky. The initial spray presents this weird, vintage spice, again, very very funky. Edges on "not smelling good" until the actual musk comes in. It's very smooth and clean, very very much 70s-80s musk. Manly, but definitely not in a way that's overpowering or abrasive. It's semi formal, something you'd throw on to smell clean, fresh and respectful. The sillage is minimal, the lasting power is okay. This fragrance is almost like a representation of dress pants in a scent. Price: 10/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 4/10 Smell: 8/10 Bottle: 7/10 Overall 7.1/10

A fragrance, that when I smell, I think of the smell of industry in the 80's. Heavy, macho, slightly metallic, burning rubber smell, that isn't very appealing to me, but the original Brut DNA that is always present in the background makes it a little better. It is an exotic flanker from the 80's, that I like smelling every once in a while, but I would not wear it, I would go with the original Brut instead.

My dad has this one.. I just tried so why not review it IT'S A DAD FRAGRANCE Very musky synthetic .. Powdery but not too powdery.. Opening is citrusy nice but it disappears quickly I don't like this old school fragrances (so far only platinum egoist and pasha de cartier I like) and they are both a better fougere than that.. But again for a plus 45 year old dad I think it'd be a great fit

Come on ! Explain how a scent so "nauseating" in the eighties (the decade of nitro powerhouse loud scents !) is still on shelves in... 2015 !! The well named Brut Musk is just a bold Brut with Musks amped up ! A honest macho flanker of an old classic ! Good !

The only EDt in the world that has almost made me physically sick, if you fancy the smell of a burning car clutch spray away! This sent is pure chemical burnt rubber, I may have an odd nose I find cool water smells like plug in Mosqito repelant so I'm obviously adverse to strong chemical smells but this takes the biscuit, how this is still being sold?? I once sprayed it on a colleagues clothes as a joke as he regularly boasts about the 280 pound bottles of EDt perfume he buys, to bring him down to earth , he took his jumper home and binned it, claiming he couldn't get it out in the wash!!

A nose bleeding fragrance with its strength or heaviness. First and last fragrance that I could not keep on. If I would define, i could say extremely heavy musk note without any other noticeable notes. This may be used just for dominating any other disturbing smell. Anywise it is hard to understand to choice this.

I was surprised to see that this scent is apparently still being made. To me it was the male version of Giorgio, but worse (because Giorgio actually smells pleasant in small doses)! I loved the original Brut, and even today's version is better than many expensive designer masculines. However, Brut Musk was a foul, toxic, nauseating mistake of epic proportions, and I do not say this just because heavy musks trigger my migraines. In the late 1980's I witnessed a restaurant being cleared out by a man wearing this scent. At first people thought the horrific smell was something burning or malfunctioning in the heating ducts. My Mom almost fainted and I had a headache all night.The guy was very well-dressed and clearly impeccably clean and well-groomed, but his scent was nasty. Update: Today, my friend Kelly asked me what Brut Musk smelled like. I told her to imagine the stench an angry male rhinoceros would emit if someone poked him in the buttocks with a spear, causing him to perspire profusely AND pass gas.

Brut Musk. I have been wearing Brut for years but Brut Musk is new to me. Also this is the first Brut I have had in this bottle, is it the original bottle? Well, this bottle says Made In Hungary on the back. Anyways, its the bottle in the pic. I love this bottle, it really looks good. Sprays nicely. What comes to mind is Clubman Musk. Which in turn, smells like Brut with musk, so that makes sense!! Like Shamus has said, definatley a true flanker to Brut. The musk in this and Clubman musk is very sweet, like the color of Clubman musk. Jade East Musk and Jovan Musk are less sweet, but still sweet but more orange sweet and this and Clubman Musk to me are more pink sweet. Brut Musk, like Clubman Musk is pretty mild and quite pleasant. I do enjoy Brut Musk.

Brut managed to keep very smart flankers, better stressing some concepts of the original iteration. This is Brut, less the anise, and with a bolder, brut-ish side. It’s just lovely. Brut Oceans is another quite successful version- breezy and lemonish. Both manage to preserve the highly regarded barbershop touch of the original Brut, but giving it more dimensions. Well done!

It's a pleasant smell I'm not complaining but unfortunately Raid Mosquito killer was made to have a similar scent so now every time I smell Brut Musk...Raid comes to my mind.
