Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women

Let me recount to you a little story about Brit Rhythm. 2014, I had just bought Chloé Eau de Parfum during school break. I'm excited to wear it for the new term, but my best friend says she can't stand the scent. Being a good friend, and with a slight broken heart, I set out looking for a new substitute– one that would not offend my friend's nose, but one I would like all the same. When I smelled Brit Rhythm for the first time at the store, it reminded me of an auntie. No biggie I moved on. That day I found no perfume I quite liked, so I went home empty handed. I'd kept a few paper strips though, and Brit Rhythm– she kept inviting me back in. Her drydown was powdery and floral, but never overwhelming. I felt great comfort whenever she greeted my nose. At the time, I was a student at a boarding school, and we were allowed to go into town during the weekends. That whole week I kept her under the pillow close to me. I would smell her before I go to bed, first thing I wake up, between breaks, anticipating the weekend I could finally have her in my keep. I did not ask my best friend if she approved of the scent– I didn't care, I had found the love of my life. I'm rambling, but I think you can tell how much I loved this perfume. I don't wear it anymore, I've since found others that better suit my personality and essence. It's still near and dear to my heart though, and I would love to have this as a room or linen scent. It's sparkly fresh, crisp, and airy. Whenever I smell this I think of posh kids in vine-covered brick buildings studying for their exams. Brit Rhythm is bright, clean, inoffensive, and streamlined. I don't remember the performance anymore, but remembered buying a set that came with a rollerball as well as a body lotion. That worked well for keeping the scent longer.

I like most Burberry fragrances with Brit and Body being my favourites. When this came out, I had to have it, but when I tried it on, I was mostly 'meh' about it - and forgot about it for some years. At some point I started layering my perfumes, and was blown away by combining Brit Rhythm with YSL Manifesto L'Eclat (that I find kind of dull on its own). I realized that Brit Rhythm was gorgeously understated and that I may have tried it out during the wrong season. It comes ALIVE if you use it in spring - and I love it on its own there. It's a gorgeous somewhat powdery lavender, but still fresh. Thus intrigued I searched for more lavender perfumes, and got Mon Guerlain, which is gorgeous with the warmer notes of vanilla and coumarin. Then came 2019 and YSL Libre was released - and I've been wanting to sample it for ages, but haven't gotten around to it. Meanwhile I'd been stalking reviews of it here on Fragrantica, and while people were comparing it to soooo many different perfumes one reviewer stated that it reminded her of Brit Rhythm and Burberry London. While I have no clue if she's right, I had to try out that combo and lo-and-behold, it's to die for! I like Burberry London, but find it somewhat screechy, but layered with Brit Rhythm, the screechiness is subdued into a wonderful, powdery floral. To sum it up, Brit Rhythm is great on its own if you wear it during spring - but it's insanely divine when you layer it with other perfumes.

This stuff is divine. I have heard an ugly rumour that this is discontinued, and I have also been on a lavender kick lately, so - naturally - I needed to get my hands on a bottle. It's so much better than I expected! Yes, there's a definite laundry powder element, but - hey - I like that (when done well). It's slightly sharp, clean, soft lavender with gentle violets (orris root, apparently) and warm musk. Geberally, I'm getting lavender, pink pepper, orris root, aldehydes, neroli, musk, and... sure...it has a particular woodiness. Sadly, nothing screams 'blackberry leaf' or 'orange blossom', but I'm not mad. Certainly, if you overspray, you'll choke yourself, so...be kind. I'm also completely thrown by why this is a part of the "Brit" line. It smells nothing like "Brit". The only similarity are the bottles. The longevity and sillage is actually impressive, considering "laundry scents" don't tend to hang around on me. This, and "Blanche" are similar in terms of uber-clean scents of this vein. This is cozier whilst "Blanche" is more clinical (still a compliment, it's bomb). I love the bottle. A tall, rectangular glass with an engraved optical-illusion pattern. Fun! A comforting weight. The plastic cap is okay. A bit at ends with the heavy glass aspect, but no biggie. I've used between 1/4 and 1/3 of a 90ml bottle, and I'm already nervous about where to get my next Rhythm fix. Repurchase-worthy! *** Kitty rating: 8.5/10.

This perfume was discontinued some time ago and so as I searched for it in the UK for over a year, I knew I was a long shot from finding it. Its close sister Brit Rhythm Floral just wasn't the same thing and couldn't substitute. So you will imagine my surprise on finding a 90ml in a perfume store while on holiday in West Africa. From the notes and numerous YouTube videos, I just knew I'd love it... and oh yes, now that I've tested and worn it, I absolutely do. This is an EDT with EDT projection but EDP longevity. It is fresh in the opening, clean due to a cedar based dry down, comforting from the musk, feminine, lavender leading, powdery from the iris, and faintly woody. I would like to smell this on a man, I think body chemistry might turn it unisex, but it coasts along that clean-musky-feminine zone. This turns very musky in the dry down (not white musk). This is a perfume you wear for yourself, not to be smelt by others, but to feel good, feminine and clean. The sort of fragrance you'd put on right after a shower, and then get into your clean sheets for bed. It is not a loud performer but it lingers a long while (my skin doesn't absorb perfume quickly). I've worn this in both cool and warm weather, humid and dry and I think it's suitable for all seasons. I have already secured a back-up bottle.

This is not quite what I thought it’d be! In my amateur mind, I was expecting a sweeter, milder lavender scent. This instead knocks your off your feet with unsweetened, herbaceous, heady lavender - I guess that’s the difference between the French and English varieties! It sweetens as it dries down, with mild white florals and a whisper of citrus. A little sophisticated but not pompous, living the high life but never forgetting her roots, head in the clouds but feet on the ground. Moderate/strong sillage, dries to a skin scent at 3-4 hours on me. Clings to hair and clothes much longer. Waking up to this scent, faded but definitely still there, is quite a pleasant way to start the day. With all that being said, I really, really like it... not quite a “love”, but it’s up there. Maybe not my signature, but it could be someone’s... it’s interesting enough to stand out, but inoffensive enough to wear at the office or around the house. Edit: After some thought and a little more time wearing it, I’ve decided to upgrade my “like” to a “love”. This fragrance has the ability to make you feel put-together even in a sweatshirt and unwashed hair. The performance is also nothing to scoff at. The laughably low price tag is absolutely not an indicator of quality.

Clean & Powdery LAVENDER-IRIS MUSK With Petalia. It's hard to balance refreshing with cozy qualities, but this scent artfully strikes that balance imho. This may be discontinued in some countries, but still widely available in North America. Opens with an aldehydic burst of lavender & neroli accented by pink pepper, that deepens into the heart of orris-root diffused by petalia with hints of blackberry-leaf & orange-blossom that has powdery, floral, fresh, earthy and near-creamy tones. This all rests on a floral-woody-musk support base with vetiver & coumarin touches. The overall effect is of a clean, diffusive lavender-iris musk with petalia as its fuel. The petalia here may be in the background initially, but it's driving the bus, but I enjoy it's treatment here with soft purples of lavender and iris and a faintly creamy tone from orange-blossom. Contrast to Insolence Guerlain: These are different, but there are similarities with iris, orange-blossom & musk. Insolence has a forward violet & red-fruit accord. Roughly equivalent performance. Overall: gorgeous clean & powdery lavender-petalia scent with excellent performance for year round wear. This was initially a like for me, but it's become a love. Classic laundry that wins you over Enjoy!

This is one of those perfumes that I detested when I first sprayed it. Then 10 minutes later, I'm in heaven! It has a very strong, almost offensive, quality at first, but then the longer I let it sit on my skin, the better it melds in with my chemistry. The flowery notes start to "pop" with the woody/musky notes, and the softer, sweeter elements become stronger. Originally I tried it via samples I got off of eBay. Then I bought the full size. I'm typically a lover of warm balsamic or gentle flowery scents, but this one I make an exception for because it's so wonderfully woody and complex, but still extremely feminine. I definitely sense the lavender, which gives it a mild incense quality, but that combined with the neroli, musk, blackberry leaf, and other musky elements really make this a unique fragrance in my collection. For me, it has moderate sillage and very impressive long-lasting longevity. It will take a shower to get the smell of it off me (which is a good thing). This one is much better than the floral version, in my opinion, and is especially great at night and in cold weather. It's a very compelling scent that I would recommend at least getting samples of. I don't have anything else quite like it.

This has got to be my favorite perfume of all time. So comfortable, infinitely interesting, unisex-ish and has a scent journey that lasts like 12 hrs! Stellar longevity is what sets this apart from other frags in my collection that I love, but they don’t have the stamina to pull a full workday. I think it oozes class and sophistication! Hazy, herbaceous, delicious puffy cloud of comfort. Yes it is like really good lavender-berry laundry fabric softener with a bit of woods underneath and some sunshine up on top. So it qualifies as a “clean fresh” fragrance. Not perfumey for noses that don’t like “perfume.” Must have a sweet candy-ish element that my nose doesn’t get because my partner always thinks it smells like candy? The transformation this perfume undergoes on the skin is a ride I really enjoy throughout the day. The beautiful sheer musk in the base is magical. It keeps my nose from getting bored and lasts forever!! This is a love for me...but perhaps not a safe blind but unless you like herbal, unisex, or slightly powdery...:)

Scrolling down the Tiktok and saw a video that asked if you gonna wear one perfume for the rest of your life, what would it be? I immediately thought of this one and currently wearing it now. Lavender, musky and peppery. So fresh yet very warm and comfy scent that goes very well with many occasions. Remind me of checker flannels. Warm and cozy. Lavender here is quite strong but if you like it, you will be okay. It’s not a head-turner like other perfumes. But very noticeable by others when I wear this. I love Brit rhythm so much I have an edt, lotion and deodorant spray. Already used one edt and 2 deodorant spray. Currently stocking 2 edt and 2 deodorant for me. I personally prefer deodorant spray than edt because using the deodorant spray after the shower give me uplifting mood or when this turn into the skin scent, it’s still have that fresh out of shower soap feeling in your skin. If you love Musky perfumes like me, Brit rhythm is the hidden gems. Day or night, winter or summer, anytime you like.

Oh my goodness, I don't understand what the issue is with one, I think it's very nice! I braced myself, but it's dang NICE. Yes, it's laundryish, but it's a *great* laundry smell. Perfect for days when you'd want to smell fresh with a little bit of interesting undertones. It's not ridiculously fascinating, but it isn't boring. With this being said, I'm a sucker for lavender. It's not a sweet French lavender, it's a cool, brisk lavender. Typically musk comes off as warm, but this isn't. I don't get much wood here, maybe a bit of vetiver but that could be power of suggestion. I got 12 samples for a screaming deal, which is 24 ml, which I count as a "have". I actually like that because I'm not hugely into the Burberry asthetic, and this is perfect to take in my purse so those little things will be handy. This is a solid fragrance to wear in casual to semi-formal things. Slightly "Country Club", but not too upscale.

It's been a while since I bothered. I bought this unboxed for five Aussie dollars. Cheap. I've umming and ahing about what is is that this reminds me of and there's three fragrances that this falls into, although not a clone,however, if you are familiar with, SJP ' Lovely ', Worth's, 'Je Reviens' or EA's . 'Bluegrass' this is definitely in that aromatic class. It's not too heavy on the lavender on me but it's there. I understand that laundry aroma many of the reviews talked about but it is a little less green than the other scents I mentioned. It's a summer scent for me. I am very much reminded of those other scents that share DNA.. There's less longevity that I would have liked, three hours on me. The bottle is heavy with an interesting art deco ish vibe. It's kinda a happy scent as far as it feels. But yes. I miss the 'Je Reviens' parfum I once had. This reminds of that.

Another winner for me from Burberry! Oh! I love this! Clean, floral, lots of lavender (swoon!) crisp, soapy and this is a beast-mode fragrance on me, easily over 7 hours and I can smell it the whole time. Such a beautiful fragrance, total love from me on this one! Something about it reminds me of Lalique Amethyst. Could be the blackberry but it's that crispness they both share. Brit Rhythm is a bit more floral whereas Amethyst is a bit more green. So thrilled with the longevity and sillage on this fragrance, Burberry fragrances are so well made and I enjoy them so very much. Sept. 1, 2020 Wearing this fragrance today I am getting strong Bronze by Ellen Tracy vibes. Lots of citrus and lemon and the violet in Bronze is changed out for the lavender in Rhythm. Still really liking this one in the heat!

Wow, this is incredible. It's BEAUTIFUL. Today, it's really hot outside where I am (over 30°C/ 86°F) and the only way that I can think to describe this is angelic. It really does smell... heavenly. Clean, innocent and feminine, somehow it manages be both "cooling" and "warm", it's a scent that brings people closer to you because it pulls them in. It's definitely reminiscent of Insolence - I have one on each wrist and while they are not identical whatsoever, they do smell like they were cut from the same cloth. I love them both dearly, they both remind me of my childhood. P.S: I don't think I get any real lavender on my skin - this fragrance is very sweet on me and I get a lot of orris/violet and a clean, soapy white musk. I get nothing green or herbal on me, but that might be skin chemistry.

I adore this! Reminds me of a perfume from my childhood! Maybe the Jovan Individuality series, air or water?! Or just gives me similar vibes to cool water and aqua di gio? I don’t know, but it’s calming and comforting. Definitely sample if you like fresh scents, aquatics or light, musky florals! The lavender isn’t obvious, but I do think this is a great bedtime scent! Leans more feminine than masculine, but a guy could pull this off. I also think some younger girls would like this as a first perfume, my 7 year old likes it! Edit: Maybe it’s Lovely as Tine1world mentioned. I haven’t smelled that in ages, but my sister wore it so that may possibly be what it reminds me of. Edit again: No I bought Lovely and gave it away because all I got was a patchouli bomb. Not similar to my nose.

I bought this to get free shipping on another order after trying it just once in a store. So many people on the forums recommended me to get this one, and they were absolutely right. I love clean and fluffy musks, and I love lavender. Brit Rhythm unites both, rounded out by powdery orris, soft fresh florals and woods and the slightest hint of a berry note in the opening. The lavender in this isn't sweet or herbal, but not too soapy either. This fragrance is clean and cool smelling, but also comforting and enveloping, like freshly washed bed linen. A good daytime scent for work or for when you just feel a little groggy and need something that has a presence but isn't too heavy. Really easy to wear, but with its own character.

This is super pretty and girlie if it was a color it would be quartz crystal. I don't get a lot of pepper but I get peony, orris, adelhydes and the lavender is so pleasant not acerbic or too clean as it can be in some perfumes. To me the pepper and coumarin are very subtle and it's more on the pretty sure than spicy. I also smell a green tea accord after the dry down. It's like if Lovely and Chloe Nomade had a middle sister who is the coquette of the family. Definitely love. Light sillage but decent longevity i don't wear a lot of very strong scents except in winter. I prefer this to Lovely as it doesn't have sharp lavender.. I got this in a sample but I will purchase in the future.

Best blind purchase ever! On me this starts sharp with the lavender but in 5 minutes it softens with the sweetness of the musk.It honestly reminds me of Mon Guerlian which has been on my wishlist forever but the price was too high for me. This one I found dirt cheap, it lasts, it projects and it is so comforting. One of my favourites. Update: I got Mon Guerlain as a swap not long after I bought Burberry Brit Rhythm and I thought I wouldn't want to use the latter any more since I got the one I wanted in the first place. WRONG! After countless swappings with my mother, I finally took this one back for good and gave her the Guerlain instead. Now I am calm :D I can't live without this!

I love love love lavender but most perfumes with lavender have a hefty dose of vanilla, which I don't particularly care for. Not this one. It's pure English lavender - something you'd expect in a tweed store or something. I'm not sure what makes it "rock and roll" except maybe the herbal quality evokes backstage smoke and alcohol and um, other herbs? This perfume is one of my bedtime perfumes (along with Hanae Mori HM) and is also perfect for rainy Saturdays and walks through the British countryside. lol Edit: I sprayed this 12 hours ago and it's still going strong. Amazing longevity!

Perfect perfume for oppressively hot summer days where another scent would be nauseating. It gives me expensive lavender dryer sheet / clean laundry aldehyde vibes. I can imagine this being a good ‘I’m going to the gym’ perfume. Or for the office when you just want to smell clean and put together. A little goes a long way. I wore it to work on Monday and it lasted 12+ hrs. And even after washing my scrubs (I do laundry on Saturday) they still smelled like Burberry Brit Rhythm! For such longevity the price point is amazing. Especially if you go to a discounter site.

Dryer sheet, laundryish lavender, but not overwhelmingly chemical. Humid, like warm towels hanging in a linen closet. It’s nice. My quandary is that I love natural-smelling clean, laundry-type musks, but I dislike orris, “petalia,” and tonka, so I’m on the fence with this one. Orris is very prominent, while petalia is only mildly noticeable and tonka is not really evident. I think, on balance, I like it! Edit 2025: This has become an absolute favourite. I actually love the iris/orris and the tonka in it. Life is funny.
