Burberry Women

OK people. After reading all the reviews, here is a quick tip to know if you're reviewing the old formula or the new one : OLD SCHOOL ORIGINAL FORMULATION : the best Burberry women is the one in bottles with the low flat ridged caps like on the picture above, that comes in a pale, plain yellow box with a line of tartan/plaid at the bottom of the box only. The original says made in France on the box. NEW REFORMULATION : the new reformulated version came out in 2020; it's the one with the tall and thin cap and the plaid covered box. That one says made in Germany on the box. REVIEW OF THE ORIGINAL RIDGED CAP VERSION : After years of wearing Burberry women, I still love it as much as I did the first day. The peach-vanilla-cedar-oakmoss combination is just beautiful, rich and juicy. The oakmoss is present and grounds the fullness of the perfume. It is stunning! It has a nice sweetness that comes from the fruits and vanilla but nothing caramel or cakey or anything baked goods, just a natural sweetness that doesn't overpower anything but plays nicely with the other notes. Now because one person's "lightly sweet" is another person's overdose of sugar, I'll use my personnal Sweetness scale from 1 to 10 to put things in perspective, with Ralph Lauren Safari being bone dry and not sweet at all at a 1 and Lancôme La vie est belle being a gag inducing diabetes in a bottle level of sugar at a 10. Burberry women gets a 3.5-4 on my scale. Longevity of the original is stellar, I get 8-12 hours without issue and the scent lingers on clothes for a long time with 4-7 sprays. I think anyone of any age could wear that one. Burberry women is sexy in a subtle and classy grown up way, like a woman with a messy bun wearing an oversized cream cashmere sweater that drops on one of her shoulders and showcases her clavicle. That woman knows that sexiness is about being comfortable in her own skin. REVIEW OF THE NEW REFORMULATION : the richness, fullness and the juiciness of the peach is almost gone and the oakmoss is toned down to almost nothing, leaving the cedar note to be very present, making it a bit scratchy down the throat when you smell it. It's now more of a fruity green cedar perfume. People who have never smelled the original could actually like this a lot for what it now is. Lovely and wearable, very office safe fruity-woody perfume. Longevity of the reformulation is abysmal. I was lucky to get 3-4 hours out of this one on my skin. FINAL THOUGHTS : original ridged cap bottle of Burberry women is stunning and very much worth hunting down on ebay for a reasonnable price (under 100$).

I would be curious as to whether any of you ladies out there who tend to dislike florals in general make an exception for this one as I do. I was one of the first in my set to ditch things like Anais Anais and jump on the unisex frag bandwagon of the early 90s... although I did Dior's Eau Sauvage as I found CK One too soapy. Eau Sauvage ushered in for me a lifelong devotion to the unisex citrus; it's my winter frag in that vein, while Goutal's Eau D'Hadrien is my summer. I also have a few other eaux, a chypre or two, and a bottle of Arpege that I keep so I can occasionally smell like my Nana. No matter how much I might enjoy florals on other folks or how much fun I have trying them on at Bloomingdale's, I always come to the conclusion that they are not for me and end up regretting purchases and giving them away. Other florals would enter my life courtesy of a beloved uncle who would purchase bottles for the ladies in the family every Christmas. We would pass them around and sample and trade. I must have sampled at least fifty bottles of florals that way over the years! Generally speaking, I would let them go to someone else, though, knowing that I'd eventually find them too sweet, too overpowering, or too allergenic (I am allergic to about 80 percent of scents I sample as well as to fragrances in many household cleaning and personal care products). One Christmas in the mid aughts, I claimed a bottle of Burberry Woman in the annual Christmas smell and swap. I figured eventually I would pitch it or give it away, but there was something in the initial spray that captivated me sufficiently to make it my own. I've gone through five bottles since! Why does my olfactory apparatus make an exception for this one? I've no idea. I smell fresh peach and vanilla immediately upon initial spray, then the cedar and sandalwood emerge for a warm woody accord. Vanilla persists into the drydown after the "papery" smell dissipates and blends with an emerging musk. I don't quite get the green apple, and I do smell a hint of the jasmine, but fortunately not enough to trigger a major allergy attack. This fragrance gives me the overall impression of taking a luxury day off in the fall to visit a reasonably empty art museum, or perhaps arriving at work to find that everyone else took a sick day and I can get paperwork done while sipping a nice peach-vanilla herbal tea. It's quiet, feminine, non-allergenic, peace! I'd welcome any recommendations from the board for other florals I might like, given that I generally don't like them on me and make an exception for this one.

Burberry Women is a beautiful musky peach, with a hint of vanilla warming and sweetening the fruits, and a dash of oakmoss toning down the sweetness. Peach is not a note that works for everyone; it has this milky/lactonic quality that can seem sour on some skin (like sour milk). I had so much fun today comparing Burberry Women with several other peach-centric fragrances that I have -- Guerlain's Mitsouko, Lancome's Tresor, Burberry Body, Guerlain's Nahema, Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies, and of course, Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love (peach blossom). While I can definitely smell peach in all of them, a couple of them are actually rose-peach: Guerlain's Nahema's juicy rose-peach, Lancome Tresor's and Burberry Body's dry and dusty rose-peach, and Elizabeth Taylor's spicy cinnamon rose-peach. Guerlain Mitsouko is that austere oakmossy chypre peach that Burberry Body references in a more contemporary, wearable way, with its bitter wormwood operating like the heavy oakmoss. I wish I weren't out of warm and yummy Gucci Rush, so I could've included it in my investigation. But overall, it was pretty darn peachy at my house today! Burberry Women is fruitier than all of my other peachy offerings, and warmer than any except for Diamonds and Rubies, with all those spices, and Gucci Rush. In spite of the mess of fruits in the top notes, with Burberry Women, peach is the star. Also, although the peach is in the top note, it dries down peachy, too. I do also smell some cedar and musk, and a hint of vanilla, in the drydown. It's so lovely -- not too sweet, with a soft and fuzzy cozy sweater feeling. Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love, which definitely resembles Burberry Women, has more fizzy effervescence and lightness ("champagne" note) up top (vs. fruitiness), and is overall a more delicate scent, with a little less depth and complexity (though I love it, too). Actually, the notes of Fancy Love do not include peach, but rather peach blossoms, lending it a more delicate quality than Burberry Women. I think Burberry Women has better staying power than Fancy Love, but they are really similar, sharing that cozy musky peachiness. Peach is one of my favorite notes in perfume and Burberry Women is such a lovely offering. It's an easy wearing, cozy, fresh, happy fragrance that I wear year round, day or night. <3 <3 <3

The original round cap Burberry was everything, so iconic. I had a pre-IFRA bottle back in the day and the compliments always flowed when I wore this, albeit mostly from middle-aged women, and I was probably a bit too young to wear this. It would be considered a dated scent now. I prefer the term "timeless" myself. If you talk a scent handmade for plaid scarves and rainy days, this was THE scent, hence the iconic packaging. It was my signature Fall/Winter/rainy Spring fragrance until my bottle ran out. Sigh...the new formulation is only a sad little whisper of the OG beast mode, sexy, mossy, cedar goddess she once was. It smells exactly the same sniffing the bottle, but on the skin it has no depth or richness like the pre-IFRA, pre-synthetic juice. The OG would morph and become more complex on the skin, the reformulation doesn't do that, for me at least. Poof! It's gone in half an hour, just evaporates off my skin before having the chance to develop. The OG would linger on a scarf I had not worn for a week, I could pick up a jacket I had not touched in days and the scent would still waft heavenly off the collar. With my newer bottle, I can deliberately douse a scarf in the evening, the smell has completely disapated by the next morning. Does not matter the time of year, I have sat on my bottle for three years allowing it to oxidize and tried it in all seasons, I just can't get by without having to spray and respray. There is also something in the reformulated version that turns to doggie doo on my skin 3 minutes after I spray this. Legit icky poo smell. It can't be a bad batch or a bottle that has gone off, because Burberry Touch is the same for me. I could not have ended up with two bad bottles. I know some people's skin/noses are sensitive to indoles, lending to the poo smell, but I have several indolic perfumes and none of them give me any fecal odor whatsoever. One of my ultimate fav perfumes, Jean Patou - Sira des Indes, seems to have a bad reputation for giving off poo smells to some people, but my skin loves it. Only the reformulated Burberry perfumes don't work with my chemistry. Maybe I am living in the past, but I much preferred the OG. The reformulated version is sadly poo juice on me.

GOLDEN NECTAR in the FOREST... Like jar peaches in a light syrup on a wooden serving board framed with wisps of forest. I've loved this scent since it came out, and I agree with MihelaN below that it's still lovely even after reformulation, only the performance is more moderate from what I remember. Signed by perfumer Michel Almairac, this beauty opens with a peachy-apricot burst that dries down into a sheer golden veil of soft woods and vanilla. With time, it's gotten a lot stronger. The woods are coming more forward now with that sweet peach-apricot on top. I love this a lot for some reason, although there's a simplicity here. Leaves an oily sheen on the skin that takes a few minutes for the sillage to wake up. It's the woods that make this a winner imo. Overall: Beautiful golden peach syrup & woods scent profile, and the moderate performance makes it versatile enough to wear any season. It's a longtime love for me, Enjoy! Contrast to Fancy Love Jessica Simpson: My first impression was that I'm smelling Burberry Women, and there are striking similarities, but these are different. Fancy Love has a faint sparkling quality and better performance. As with Burberry Women, overall I get a syrup-y apricot/peach, like jarred apricots & peaches in light syrup. Update 02/08/25: Funny thing, when I sprayed this yesterday, after awhile I started to notice the oakmoss much more than I had before. I'm tempted to say this is the fly in the ointment as I have a love/hate relationship with oakmoss. Some people go crazy for it, but for me it's usually a challenge. Here I think oakmoss helps makes the scent what it is, fruity nectar with wisps of forest, but if I over-spray the oakmoss bothers me. Still love it, but next time I won't put as much on. Performance is gotten really good; it's still here on my hoodie the next day. Batch No: 1211 (2021-07-30)

My beloved peaches and cream snuggly scent. I received a sample of this fragrance many years ago and fell in love the moment I dabbed some on my wrist and instantly bought a bottle! It is such a beautiful comforting, creamy, slightly fruity, musky, woody hug in a bottle! It feels like a cuddle from someone you love. I have a pre-reformulated bottle with the stubby ridged cap! And I shall seek out another one to purchase too! This opens with the most lovely mellow, fruity peach and dried apricot. Peach can sometimes be an iffy note for me, but here it is perfection. I don't notice any blackcurrant, but sometimes, depending on my body temperature, I can get a slight hint of tartness from the green apple. Jasmine is also not detectable for me. The base notes are where this fragrance sings it's beautiful comforting Sonnet! The natural, unsweetened vanilla is heavenly (I am not the biggest fan of vanilla when it is too heavy and sweet, as it so often is in modern fragrances) the cedar and oak moss give it such a lovely slant, making this fragrance suitable for a man that is confident enough to pull this off, and the soft musk is what radiates the longest in this fragrance....the musk is what I can smell on my clothing 24 hours later....with just a whisper of the peach and the cedar and oak moss. I will always have a bottle of this in my collection as it is so versatile and the comfort aspect of it makes it perfect for any season or mood. A truly stunning classic that smells as beautiful in 2024 as it did in the 90's. Simply timeless.

I’ve got a bottle that is at least 10 years old so it’s probably the old formulation and the scent may have changed over time but anyways some thoughts. This is a warm, inoffensive and very cozy fragrance. Fruit and vanilla give it some (almost gourmand) sweetness, a little flowers some delicacy and femininity. Still all of it is blended with wood so well that I really can’t distinguish many individual notes and an overall impression is of a sweet wooden fragrance of an inside of an old wooden cabinet warm with the autumn sun. Very natural and calming. Projection and longevity are not huge but they get me through the day until I apply something heavier for the evening. Somehow I missed out on this fragrance during my youth while it had been popular. Perhaps it lacked edginess, sexiness and loudness for my young self, lol, but 25 years later I rather like it. I haven’t smelled the recent formula and judging by reviews it had changed quite a bit. If true, it’s rather sad, but I will be very much enjoying my old bottle while it lasts. PS: I know many do not believe in layering (I used to be one of those) but if you do layer - to my taste this fragrance is great for playing with and complimenting by a little of other sandal and woody fragrances. For e.g. a little of Santal de Mysore gives Burberry some spicy oriental vibe and Wonderoud a sharper and a little masculine woody vibe. Husband’s (knows-nothing-about-perfume intellectual introvert, favours Terre & Vetiver Tonka by Hermes) verdict: pleasant, warm and cosy.

I Love this fragrance. Soft intimate powdery fruity sexy uplifting. easy to wear. not overpowering. Versatile and I would feel safe wearing this any time anywhere. I can overspray and not have nausea or headache. Perfect for my collection. My bottle is several years old maybe purchased in 2020/2021. I get the comparison to Jessica Simpson fancy love. It instantly reminded me of Kylie cosmic which I love. They have the same base notes of musk vanilla and cedar. So surprised there’s a prominent peach in the notes above since peach rarely smells good on my skin to my nose. Well done! Update 2/18/26: walked by some clothes hanging and something amazingly sexy made me double back. As I sniffed the items hanging from the door I found the culprit. A white T-shirt I wore a week before and forgot about. I looked down at the bottles recently used and THIS BEAUTY had me smiling! Can’t believe I was unsure about wearing her! This baby can hang with the best of them as an anytime fragrance. I’m IMPRESSED! I can honestly say this has great longevity on clothes and an intimate sillage that sticks close to you since I had to walk by the item to pick up on it. But it was still present a week later and I noticed it among several items hanging on the door. Totally impressed and it’s a keeper that’s an easy reach. Update 6/2026: reached for this after a very long day at work for my bedtime scent. Very relaxing. LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE ❤️

This scent is magic in a bottle, feels very reminiscent of 90s atmosphere, it has a hint of vintage in the best possible way. I love the beauty created with the magnificent combination of the notes, the peach, apricot and pear are an absolute favotite whenever they are used in a scent. I do not believe in a gender specific scent, but let's call this a female leaning, but anyone who wants to feel cosy, smell unique and nice can wear this. I love to overspray my perfumes, so having that in mind I love scents that are not overbearing, just like this one. Sadly I have never smelled the old formula to make the comparison, but what I can say is that the scent is a 100% out of a 100% amazing, with one drawback that it is very light and almost immediately becomes a skin scent. I love a good skin scent, but I wish this perfume would project and linger little bit longer before becoming a skin scent. Edit: I have been wearing this perfume for quite a while now and it is a scent that I will always have in my collection. If you overspray a bit others can detect it radiating at an arm's length and the compliments are guaranteed. I love when I smell a scent to get a rush of athmospheric memories that I have never experienced blink into an existence in my mind and that is what Burberry Woman does for me. It will be a forever love.

Loud overripe peach, dirty diaper jasmine (to respond to herculano, I do not mean poop, more like an impolite funky indolic floral, maybe the smell of a sweaty toddler that just woke up from a nap, but not poop, maybe I can't really explain what I mean, I don't have an expert nose-) vanilla + cedar giving a weird plasticky doll-head note, pissy cassis, green lilac, and a smidge of musk & earthy moss to add depth to the sweet notes. Basically all my favorite stuff. Loved this since 2008 & gone through multiple bottles. New formulation not as mossy as the original, which is disappointing, but to be expected. Still a great frag. Likely no one in your circle is wearing this; to me this is important. Update: I understand the comparison to Ghost Deep Night after seeing it in the 'reminds me of' section here; they open very similarly. But in 👻 (new formula) the rich fruity amber/musk opening quickly fades, and it leaves behind a forgettable floral scent, something like the reformulated Chloé. Lancôme Poême was a first beloved perfume for me, and while different, it's in the same family with its peach, vanilla, and cedar. Also check out Guerlain Mitsouko and Rochas Femme if you're into scents such as this.

Innovative, ahead of its time milky peach skin musk. The lactonic note is exactly like what my tiny bottle of a health food store sandalwood oil from around 2000 smells like. It is softly woody, with a concentrated oily rich milk or even vanilla ice cream aspect. The notes listed sound boring and basic if you have not tested this perfume. It melts beautifully into your skin and becomes a gentle angelic halo following you. I'm guessing that the milky note is from sandalwood and that the wood is from cedar in the base. I believe everyone who claim that their reformulated bottle from Germany is not as good as earlier models but my tester bottle that I bought from an online retailer a few years ago is exactly how I remember it to be. It is also made in Germany but maybe I lucked out and it is just a good batch. One of the best non gourmand perfume-ey vanilla fragrances of the 90s alongside Casmir and Tocade. Update May 2026: This is still beautiful but like most older perfumes, the potency, depth and longevity have significantly diminished due to reformulation. This has about half the strength and longevity of the 90's version.

this is a really solid fragrance. The opening is what really blew me away, however. It smells like a bubble bath almost? but like a REALLY bougee bubble bath. I definitely picked up the peaches in the dry down. the projection is quite decent imo. most of the comments say it doesn't perform as well, but maybe the composition is different (?). im not sure which make mine is as it was my mother's originally, but that 90's vintage flair is certainly notable. the note of the peach, while not being sickly sweet, definitely gives this frag potential to be wearable all year round! So it's extremely versatile. it can come off as too powdery to some (almost like a hotel ladies powder room with air freshener sprayed all over) so just be cautious of that. its not TOO strong to be picked up on by other people, but once you notice it yourself, it can become distracting. however, if you want to smell like a nostalgic (yet slightly mature), vacation in the Caribbean, def pick this one up! xx

Another Michel Almairac scent in my collection with a 2006 batch code . The guy who brought us JOOP and Farenheit. I didn't know the perfumers until i got on this site and am always amazed how many of the ones I like are by the same people. I shamelessly wear my wife's scents. Not all of them ofcourse but this one is just a nice classic vanilla that is comforting and a little boozy to me. It's enveloping and calming to me. The bottle I'm reviewing is about 20 years old. It's pretty much full and the box says only Burberry. It's the same bottle as above but I get none of the fruitiness of the mentionned notes. I get a vanilla powder that sits on a brandy like note ...to me. It's classic and not to sweet or cloying. I can see how this is a flagship scent although it's simple and uncomplicated. Burberry Brit is another Vanilla fave along with Burberry weekend that has a peach like note. I don't wear weekend as it leans feminine but it's like catnip when the wife wears it.

I love when something surprises me and makes me question what I think I know about myself. On paper, I would have never given this scent a chance. Until I smelled Burberry Classic, my favorite perfume was Prada by Prada. I thought I only liked resinous, spicy, earthy scents. I was positive that I hated anything sweet. But one day on a whim I sprayed Burberry Classic on me while shopping in a department store. 30 minutes later, I was retracing my steps to the fragrance counter to purchase what was the most delicious thing I'd ever smelled. I wanted to eat my own arm. This perfume and my body chemistry are like totally LYLAS BFFs. Just a few months later, and I'm already on my second bottle. I REGRET NOTHING! Honestly, I've never craved a scent as much as I do this. I feel sort of sad on the days I choose another scent from my wardrobe. I'm always eager to come home, shower, and put my Burberry back on. Burberry Women is just comfortable. It's comforting. It's home.

This was my go to and one of my first scents as a teenager up untill age 16, I used to pair it with my burberry scarf back then too. Back then I was what you may have heard of on tiktok refered too as "an English chav" Gold jewellery only & lots of it, huge twisty hoop earrings with pink diamanté balls on with the latest Nike tns on & drenched in this stuff. This brings back good memories of my first boyfriend and for me this is a scent I wear for lounging in or when wearing a lounge tracksuit it is only a shadow of what it used to be in terms of strength and scent the reformulated version is basically a body spray compared to its former glory. I still like it but only from a nostalgic point of view it is probably worn a max of 5 times per year so it will probably never be replaced in my collection unless I find a vintage bottle at a good price. I love the sweetness and jasmine but dislike the green aspect in the background.

Given that i was a teenager in 2000' I always thought of 90' perfumes as mature, too serious, not my cup of tea. I never bothered to try one. I went to the store to try out something else, didn't find it that day, so I ended up randomly spraying stuff and sniffing. And then, BAM! The most divine smell ever! I couldn't believe it was Burberry. It's so different than today's generic designers. And just the right amount of sweet for me. I tried it one more time in store and bought a 100ml bottle straight away. This could totally be my signature scent! Can't believe the years I wasted not knowing about this beauty. Can't really pick out the notes... It's fruity, sweet and fresh in the same time. I imagine the best time for it would be spring, but I will use it all year round. Can't say about projection, but longevity is pretty good on me. The price is a joke comparing to the beauty of this. 10/10 from me

This was my signature scent for over a decade. I need a new bottle.. I made my large bottle last for almost 15 years! But, alas, it is empty, and I don't have another fragrance that has the same warm yet fruity vibe that this one makes me crave. It is fruity and positive with an ambery base that is so warm and inviting. It's a beautiful fragrance. I love the peach and pear heart with the gorgeous amber base. It's not overly sweet at all, like a lot of fruity perfumes, it's just the right amount of sweet to be absolutely lovely. And the amber keeps it so warm, all the way through. It's not a boring fragrance, at all, there is depth and a story that shines through. On my skin, it lasts forever and wafts at least an arms length away. I always get compliments and people asking what I'm wearing. I hope the formula hasn't changed too much in the last 15 years. That would be a real shame.

It's a full circle and I came back to this one. This was one of my first few designer fragrances - the others used to be Hypnotic Poison and Poeme. Yes, the 2000s in urban India. I travelled, wandered and meandered - through many others . Happy to discover some , especially Baccarat Rouge, Roses Vanille, Gentle fluidity Gold, Angel's Share ,Sacred Wood ,Kenzo Amour , Lost Cherry..the list goes that way and from Lattafa like Oud Mood and Royal Blends. Treasure every one of them. But for some unknown reason I started getting drawn to pure florals , of late . Pure Poison and Gucci Bloom. And then the craving began for this classic. Rediscovered my past self.Light, breezy, soft , happy !! You may think what you like :) but I sometimes layer this with Million Cpo from Al Haramain. Floating among Sugared apples Peaches and Jasmines of coolness and comfort. Blissful.

I miss the old and original version! It smelled like a golden baroque concert! Like a cosy theathre in a very happy night, with violins, cellos, red wine and a good company! A Bach's violin concert with someone you love to be with, to talk with... The scent of shared joy in a wonderful night, full of beauty. Elegance and cosiness in one fragrance: you're outside at night, in a classical theatre, yet you are home, feeling warm. Because you have who you love by your side... This perfume spoke about love... and taught how to share the beauties of life! The new version is nothing like that though. Oh, Burberry 1995... you were my first perfume in life. You taught me so much. Good times! I'd wear you all my life if you still existed like before. Without you, I search for scents that remind me of those golden times you're with me.

Love at first smell😍It was 2012 and I went to the shopping center to buy a new bottle of Burberry Body and the shop assistant suggested me other scents and I fell in love with Burberry Classic for Women! My best friend said that it sounds like an old lady perfume on me))) but I ignored her perception and continued to wear my favourite perfume! And one day she asked: "Oh, what is that smell you are wearing?" I asked her why and she said it's pretty and pleasant and I answered that I wear the same perfume😁but new formula is nothing but a hint of what it was! My best friend presented me them in late 2019 and I thought she bought a fake one((( but I was lucky to buy a vintage version in the summer 2023: incredible, so warm, so rich and deep, my love😍nothing compares to this perfume, it's magical, the aura of it is so enjoyable!

Well I'm several decades late to the party on this one but I'm glad I found this! Burberry Woman is lovely! Reminds me of peaches with icecream. I might add that I own Vanille Insensee by Atelier and this seems like a softer version of it. I've only got a little 5ml sample of this right now, but will need a full-size soon. I love the way this fragrance softly wafts around me as I go about my day. Can't wait to see how this sweetheart performs in other seasons. Update December 2022: I own a fullsize bottle of this now. And recently had some Christmas shopping to do. It was a mild winter day here in Canada -6°Celsius. I wore this...sprayed it liberally on me. On my way to my car a woman walking behind me asked me what perfume I was wearing because I smelled really good. That made my day!

Oh the nostalgia! I just received my Burberry today. This one brings me back to the year 2000 when I first got this perfume. I love it! Still after all these years. I haven't owned a bottle since 2004. This scent takes me back and brings back memories. When I had this perfume, I had just met my husband. I sprayed it on right before he got home and he walked in the room and said, "Mmm something smells so good". I told him it was the perfume I wore back when we met and he said that was why he liked it so much. But anyway, it smells the way I remember. Only it seems like it's not quite as strong from what I remember either. But it also changed manufacturers so that might be why. Still smells the same and I am so glad I found it because I used to love this stuff!

I've worn this regularly for 10 years or so (the bottle I have is pre-reformulation, and I have not smelled the new version.) It is really lovely and versatile, and if I had a signature scent, this would be it. As others have said, it opens peach and vanilla, and maintains vanilla throughout as the sweetness dissipates. By the end of the day, it is vanilla, woods and soft musk -- noticeable but also subtle and sophisticated. I can see where it would be too sweet for some. The floral elements are minimal, although there. I think of it as a soft woodsy gourmand scent rather than a floral. It is suitable for all but the hottest days of the year, but especially nice in the fall. Longevity is at least 8 hours for me.

I have owned this fragrance since it came out and always have a bottle or two on deck in my collection. It is my signature fall/winter night out scent. It smells so elegant, warm and lush. I was shocked to see peach being a prominent note, because my nose doesn’t pick up the peach. This fragrance is so well blended I don’t even detect it. I have always received compliments on this fragrance, being told I smell classy, or sexy. I truly love this fragrance and will continue to wear it as long as I can! I have read that it has been reformulated and currently have two on order since my stash is gone. I hope it hasn’t changed much but will edit to mention my opinion if I find it to be different from what I have.

unexpectedly sad vanilla, bordering on somber. a warm, honeyed hollowness. i ordinarily don't like amber-yellow fragrances, but this hits many of the right buttons: comforting, linear, remote... burberry is 25% mall scent, 35% academia (this is a woody vanilla intensely proximal to lignin, an efflorescence of old paper and senile professors), and 40% miss havisham–– a forlorn maiden in denial. stuffy, british elegance with a hint of gothic fiction. the "yellow" in this is a sluggish, fossilizing amber with an appetite for crystalizing time itself. a bruise-yellow adjacent to putrefactive purple, rather than sunlight. comforting and surprisingly deep, befitting an old fashion house, indeed.

This smells like a slightly bitter peach with fresh cream. Is sweet and powdery but is very soft. I personally love this, for all its elements i think this is free spirited and elegant. I can picture Rachel Weisz in The Mummy wearing this. Smells grown and from the past, yet modern and cool. This is a historian, a librarian, a museum curator, an archeologist or somebody repairing a piece of art. The adult version of wanting to go on an adventure, but the only place you are going is the office. Probably best for day and any season which isn’t summer... but all in all one of those perfumes which will be there for you through thick and thin. Will buy 💘💘💘💘

this smells like fresh, ripe peaches on me! i definitely do not have a refined nose so i can't say for sure what makes this smell so realistic to me but i think it might be the moss that keeps the scent 'green' on me. to me, it's like smelling a box of trader joe's peaches and i love it! i don't really smell any vanilla, which i don't mind. i probably have a reformulated bottle as this doesn't last longer than 5 hours on me. i'm okay with that since i got it for relatively cheap at marshall's. since this isn't too heavy on my skin, i feel like i could wear this year round. it makes me feel pretty and put together.

I think I'm one of the rare people who likes the new formula the most. It's a soft perfume. I already think it is a delicate and sensitive smell due to its structure. It doesn't spread much, it doesn't nose hard. It's not disturbing. It's more like skin perfume, but I can smell it on my skin until the evening. It is vanilla musky soft feminine perfume. It is old perfume but actually it is really good one and never gets old I think. I really love and adore this one especially at rainy and cold weathers. Just take your sweater and smell bw then hug yourself. It is giving feminine self love cozy vibes to me 💛

In my opinion when reading the scent description on this site, it says Burberry women is a fruity floral perfume. I do not think it is. It is more warm and calming and powdery sweet with a woodsy note to it. Upon first spray yes you do smell the apricot and peach but it is definitely mixed in with the warmer notes. It is a delightful calming comforting scent all together and very classy and memorable. It's actually just how I remembered it smelling like when I first discovered this in 2000. I noticed it lasts longer if you spray it on your clothes. There's just something yummy about this perfume.

This is classic, warm and opulent. Not horsey upperclass plum in the mouth type class, just smooth, self confidence, I calmly am what I am presence. This is the kind of fragrance that evokes a kind of ideal life to me. The woman wearing this would be relaxed, affluent and possess whole stack of fine cashmere jumpers and self assured style with a touch of individuality. That probably sounds weird but there is something about the comforting non clumsy vanilla here that just screams out RELAX "lets go walk our dogs in the park". idyllic and comforting yet individual. in my top five for sure

This was my signature scent in high school, and the very first fragrance that started my perfume journey. I used to get compliments on it all the time. Even though it belongs to the past now, I still feel a deep connection to it. It's soft, feminine, elegant, and effortlessly cool. Burberry's signature style really shines through in this fragrance. I honestly wish they would reinterpret it with a more niche, modern approach and bring it back. The foundation of the original scent was truly beautiful. It may feel dated today, but for many of us, it was once the signature fragrance.

This was my first love, my first fragrance, back in 97. I don't get why some say this is mature, I wore this at 15-16, it was my signature scent for nearly 10 years. It was warm, fresh, fruity, and deep, an amazing scent. Very hard to describe, just delicious. It used to last up to 20 h on my skin, and forever on clothes and scarfs. Now, its a skin scent. Not sure if its my skin chemistry. I went through many bottles, but my last one is not performing so well. I have moved on since 2006, I still miss this, but not sure I would buy it again, since its been reformulated.

This is the essence of Fall. Burberry knows to bottle the scent of Fall like no one else. Burberry for Women opens with apples. Fresh, juicy, raw apple, with the bit of astringency from the unpeeled fruit. This isn't what would be considered a gourmand in 2022 though. This apple is green and tart, and is as nature made it, with no added sugar. It's green, woody and earthy like the orchard where it grew. It's humid and mossy like a cloudy day. It's fresh like the wind announcing rain. And yet at the same time it's warm and cozy. Peaceful like a Fall day at home.

this used to be my mom's signature scent. because i have missed her a lot recently ( she is in heaven now) İ am considering to get one for myself if i can gather all my courage..to do so... 17 dec 2024 i got it!!! i need to tell you this: back in 90s it was so intense just one or two spray was enough for the whole day...4 sprays half an hour ago now it almost gone... 1 feb 2025- long story short sephora helped me change it with Light Blue by D&G. I am happy now and i was soooo disappointed with burberry. it is not what it smelled in 90s. it is just plastic now.

Absolutely gutted they reformulated this and removed the oak moss so it has no staying power at all now! WHY do they have to make such changes?! Burberry still sell it on their website at £96 for 100ml! with the new longer lid but i bought one from Amazon and the box was also different (checkered) so i returned it as there are so many knock off's everywhere. The original formula was lovely and strong and long lasting. Coty bought Burberry and I've a good mind to send them a stinking letter on behalf of all the ladies who love this original fragrance!

This wax my signature scent for over two decades, but alas the OG version made in France is next to impossible to find, and when you do, the chances that it’s not turned rancid are slim. I find the new version made in Germany with the slim cap is just meh. Very similar scent, but much more alcohol and way less depth. Performance is crap. It smells just similar enough to make me miss my favourite. If anyone can recommend a great comparable fragrance with the same depth and performance, I’d appreciate it. I’ve been searching for years.

Thank you Naughty Spice for describing exaclty how I feel about this fragrance. It was my signature frag and "feel-good moment" perfum between 1996 and 2006 approximately. I wanted to buy it again recently, but I'm discouraged... every time I try it, I expect a dense sumptuous evolving embracing perfum... and it's not. It's like a mirror image. Still perfect but no depth. HOwever, if you never tried the original, of course, go ahead and enjoy it! It's delicious! I think it used to be less fruity and more vanilla in the past.

@Rose du soir, beautifully written! However, peach stands out the most to me. Otherwise, I agree: it ́s woody, earthy, and especially mossy...warm and sexy in a cheeky way. I loved to use this one during cooler rainy, foggy days in spring and fall. I remember a particular afternoon in late autumn a few years back when I went with my friends for a cup of hot chocolate into a newly opened, very cozy, and stylish cafeteria. One gentleman came to me and said I smell nice 🍑 Again one of the great creations of the '90s.

To me, this is an ideal fall/winter fragrance. Warm, classy, comforting & beautiful. Opens with oranges & peach pie a la mode, which keeps the vanilla heart from being too heavy, dries down to a lovely mossy, woodsy scent. Sometimes I almost detect a minty or perhaps evergreen hint which I find intriguing. Lasts all day & projects well; it might be a bit much in a stuffy or hot room. On a cold day or evening when you want to feel both cozy & elegant, it is just right. My favorite vanilla perfume.

Fresh yet very versatile! Delicate yet present! It's not very fruity in my opinion, which is why I wore it all four seasons. I don't smell the fruty top notes, my nose directly detects the jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. It was my signature scent from 2012 until around 2020 since I can no longer find it at winners. This is the perfume that I received the most compliments, and it stays on me all day but not a sillage to die for. If I have the chance to find it, I'll definitely buy it again!

Feminine, understated & elegant. I'm a sucker for anything sandalwood and jasmine. I never registered the fruitier notes if I'm being completely honest. I think its better fitted for the more mature crowd but I cant help myself but love it. Super comforting smell thats intimate - whenever I put it on I feel like I'm putting on a soft wool scarf because its a bit windy outside. I can see myself going for this again in a couple of years :)

This is my signature scent. I remember when i was in grammar school my mom used to wear this and i thought it smelled bad. Few years later in my early twenties I fell in love with it and it is all a wore for some time. Today in my early 30s I still have it and its a staple. Ill always have this in my collection. Clean, fruity and powdery its the perfect everyday scent and can be worn all year around.

I don’t think I will ever get sick of this perfume. It is a fruity fragrance but it’s not a typical one, it’s quite unusual. I could pick this on anyone at any time it’s a distinct scent. It sweet in a juicy kind of way. Performance is EXCELLENT and you will be able to smell yourself all day I prefer the old cap (the one in the pic), not sure why they changed it. One of the best scents on the market.

Second to my review below...... I have just bought myself another bottle of Woman as the picture online was of the pre-reformulated version.....the box is of the reformulated version but it says "made in Spain" on the bottom and not Germany!! My original bottle says France!! Does anyone have any experience with the "made in Spain" version and how it compares to the pre-reformulated Woman?

This is all fruity cedar and moss to me. I love it on a crisp fall afternoon. I remember in my 20s my boss wore it and I thought it smelled too mature , but I rediscovered it in my 30s and bought a FS bottle. I love it to this day. Simple, clean and classic. Warm and crisp. To me it smells like autumn. I think that may be my personal associations ...but what is scent if not personal.

Blind bought it - was cheap and I was sure it will be nice office smell. Damn! it's fantastic. It's warm peach, moss and jasmine. It's cozy and sexy. Well blended and universal. Smells like autumn to me, but I think you can pull this one all year round. I am glad to have it and given the current trends in perfumery - it's really refreshing, yet it does not smell old or dated. Love.

This perfume made me fall in love with fragrances altogether. As the years go by I came to the realization that a lot of random perfumes in my collection are made by Almairac. This is a feminine, evergreen, office-friendly, gentle, warm, cozy, classy scent. It doesn't try too hard, nor does it have to. There's a good reason why it's still loved by many almost 30 years later.

I picture a woodland nymph with flushed cheeks and a crown of moss. Winding her way barefoot through the forest, she visits taps on select trees to extract their gold syrup into her evergreen basket. She uses the syrup to make a magic pixie dust for enchanting anyone who wanders too far into the forest alone. Peaches & apricots on a bed of moss and evergreen.

I just bought a small tester of this. I had a bottle maybe in the late 90s. Not exactly the scent I remember, but still Burberry. I’ve been exploring perfumes a lot recently, my first impression was: it’s uncomplicated, easy to smell, seems like a good perfume for someone new to trying perfume. Scent remains consistent, not a lot of notes and is affordable.

I don't know why people are saying it's discontinued - it isn't! It is on Burberry's own website! £96 for 101ml though i cannot see the box pattern to see if they changed that packaging - if they have then the one i bought on Amazon is legit but literally has zero staying power. I sprayed it twice on the back of my hand and within an hour no smell at all!
