Hero Eau de Parfum

So, I had to give my thoughts on this one a couple of weeks to settle. Tl;dr: *I* think I love it. It's like a warm woody spicy comfy blanket. My wife, so far, does not, just REALLY does. not. Top notes I get are a bit of piney resin - love that olibanum note - but also a big burst of sweet and spicy and aromatic, like cinnamon/nutmeg and a little fresh ginger, vanilla, definitely amber, plus just a touch of geranium, and maybe... leather? I definitely note the benzoin in the middle (which COMPLETELY turned me me off the Terre d'Hermes). Normally not a fan of the powdery/oily aspect of benzoin (and was legit concerned that it's something about benzoin and my specific skin chemistry), but it's rounder here, better-blended and more stable, so maybe there are source/processing differences, or its proportion is different... something, but it's actually not a problem here. And the incense is there, but subtle enough I don't catch it if I'm not looking for it. It's only a bit in the middle and later on drydown that I even detect actual cedar notes, and they're warm and dry, like in a sauna, not punchy like a cedar chest. One highly notable thing about this scent in my book is the longevity. OMG, this scent just doesn't quit! It lasts on skin easily all day, often longer, and projection stays moderately good for like 8+ hours even before it dries down to skin-level. It stays on clothes (and sheets/pillowcases if you're not careful) for several days. I accidentally got some on my watchband (and it's not fabric or leather, it's the rubber-like synthetic sport watch band) like 2 weeks ago, and I can STILL catch a bit of it if I put my wrist to my nose. And the more long-term intimate aspect of it, to me, is deliciously reminiscent of snickerdoodles right out of the oven - like I get that toasty baked caramel maillard smell, the vanilla, the butter, and especially the spices. The cedar/woody notes are mild enough it's like maybe having the woodstove going in the next room when I take the cookies out. I have NO objection to getting a noseful of that every once in a while (or, honestly, sometimes I just want to stick my face down my shirt for a second). Like, I looked it up and *I do NOT understand why more people don't consider this a full on gourmand scent.* It's SO sweet and dessert-y to me. Love that! As for my wife... the first time she smelled it she had a cold, which (whatever she says) does more than just diminish your sense of smell, it changes it a bit... so all she got was a punch of cedar/juniper and geranium off the top and she outright hated it. I had to give up and shower it off. She's allergic to juniper (so most cedars also set her off a bit, would get anaphylactic if she drank authentic gin, that kind of thing), and even if the allergens aren't in this, the smell bothers her; and she doesn't like floral either, sooo... she's missing all the good parts somehow. In a couple more weeks when she's well over this cold, I might try it again and see if it hits differently. Or I might just wait until fall, because this scent is so warm and sweet-spicy that it's really not well-suited to warm weather. I don't know how it would handle, e.g. being outside and getting sweaty or at the gym. It feels like it would be ill-suited to that anyway, but I fear what a little sweat smell might do to the balance...

9/10 This is for sure a new near-everyday fragrance. Not versatile enough for a go-to no-brainer type fragrance but it's almost there. Smells pretty linear, a little bit lighter on the top but it doesn't absolutely transform through the day. Which some may find boring but for me, I love the scent and would be disappointed if I lost it as it wore down. Very much amber, extremely heavy on the smoky-sweet incense, and rounded out with the wood and pine. On my skin it is very much a masculine, warm, sweet, smoky, spicy scent. Excellent all day for chilly to cold winter and fall days, and could definitely make an impression on a cool spring or summer night. Excellent performance, can reach out and touch noses without being too aggressive, it's a very inviting and comforting masculine scent that should fit most environments other than maybe close-quarters workspaces. Should be fine for larger, more spacious offices. Strong from hours 1-4, moderate from 4-6th hours, and intimate to skin-level from 6-10 hours on my skin. Should be no need to reapply throughout the standard 9-5 workday. The only cons I could possibly see are that it probably isn't as great a choice for hot weather, it smells somewhat nostalgic which is nice but could come off with a church-y, temple-y vibe on certain skins. If I had to sum it up: smells like a firm handshake from the guy that built your house while you share a nice whiskey.

Hero Eau de Parfum is warm, woody, and quietly powerful. It feels grounded, masculine, and confident without being overly aggressive. The opening introduces pine needles, which immediately give a fresh, slightly green forest feeling. Not sharp, more atmospheric. Very quickly, the fragrance becomes warmer and deeper. Benzoin and incense create a smooth, slightly resinous, almost ambery warmth. It’s not overly smoky, but there is a subtle smokiness that adds depth. It feels like walking through a forest and then stepping into a dimly lit cocktail bar in the city. The base is where this fragrance truly shines: Atlas cedar, Himalayan cedar, and Virginia cedar. Three types of cedarwood make this intensely woody, dry, and structured. If you don’t like woody fragrances, this won’t be for you. But if you do this, it's addictive. Performance is strong. On my skin, it lasts between 7 and 12 hours. Projection stays mostly within arm’s length, but it definitely has presence. This leans clearly masculine. It’s bold, structured, and mature. I personally wouldn’t classify this as unisex; it feels very “for him.” Season-wise, this is perfect for autumn and winter, especially evenings. Date night? Absolutely. It gives that refined, slightly mysterious energy. Price-wise, it’s fair for a designer fragrance, especially if you find a good deal. Rating: 8.7/10

I can best describe this perfume's smell as a moderately sweet mix of amber and woody notes. My first association with the smell is cozy, sexy, up-close with your date vibes. This fragrance is the one that attracts the most visceral reaction from my partner for one. Normally she's into more oudy, oriental spicy fragrances, but this one just has that addictively sweet and cozy/warm inviting smell that bypasses logic and works on a more primal level. Great for romantic situations in all weather conditions, but not particularly great in an intensely humid, warm, environment as the intense sweetness gets overwhelming in 23+ degrees celcius. I would imagine it would be a great clubbing fragrance as well or something to wear on a special dinner with family and friends. It's one of those deep sniffers, the kind of scent that makes you want to sniff your own skin constantly as well. It lasts incredibly long on clothing, multiple days at a time, on skin between 6 to 8 hours for me. Sillage is above average and stays quite present in your own scent bubble. If you wear the scent and somebody around you doesn't like it, then they're basically at the mercy of your presence, because this thing's scent bubble just doesn''t dissipate at all. Out of all the basic f-boy style fragrances, I do have a special place in my heart for this one specifically.

This one doesn't get enough credit for being as good as it is. I have a bottle from 2022 and the jus has darkened and aged beautifully into a beast mode syrup. It's sweet, but in a very balsamic flavor that really sets it apart from the fall/winter fragrances that everyone compares this to. For my money, this is a fantastic amber fragrance that's neither mass pleasing, boring, or made for boys trying to act like their dads. This is woody and refined while being rugged enough to suggest the wearer is equally comfortable being alone, deep in the woods for a week, as he is dressed to kill in the board room. Call it whatever you want: boring, unoriginal, weak - on the right 40 year old man walking down the street with his two little kids, your 20 something girlfriend will turn her head while you're lost in some bullshit story and flash him a "fuck me" look behind your back when the two of you pass by. Of course he wouldn't give her the time of day because he has real shit to do, but that's the type of man who wears this one right and I love the combination of amber, smokey/resin, and pine forest. This is a real love and reminiscent of more expensive niche fragrances.

The comment below saying this isnt sweet im certain has a fake or is wrongly identifying the Parfum or Intense versions; Hero edp is sweet Burberry Hero EDP is my favorite from the hero line; it's opening reminds me of Dr.Pepper & is the sweetest men's fragrance I've ever smelt! I suggest those don't judge the opening by its sweetness, because it quickly disappears into a smoky, resinous scent that's truly amazing. It's unisex leaning slightly masculine & has a great sillage & longevity. It's a true cold weather scent & has my favorite dry down of any fragrance I've ever owned. Woodsy, resinous heavy scents often lack a crispness to them but Hero EDP has this icy bite to it, similar to the feeling of breathing cold air through your nose, It's what in my opinion makes this fragrance great, perfect for fall or date night. Appropriate for work in winter at modest sprays (less than 3). Id say this out of all 100 plus fragrances I own, has some of the strongest projection. Love it, avoid if you don't like sweet but it does dissipate into a subtle woody sweet soon after the opening.

I bought this one as part of a Luxe discovery collection. Out the 6 in the pack, this one stands out in its own corner. It's a very interesting warm smell. I think what it smells most of is warm, woody, clean treated material, almost like an old (well) stored car with a new spicy air freshener put in. Add a fall day with a remote woody burn and that's this scent. The bottle is nice, I think a good representation of the product to be honest. It could also smell like high end furniture store + Starbucks. Lmao. It's a favorite among many who I have compare several as well, but I think they pick up on the fact it's much different than my other options which mostly have a more clean blue scent included somehow. Regardless, I do think this is a nice product and would recommend you have a smell if you have the chance to. I would consider rebuying this one but at this stage in my fragrance experience, I think there are too many others for that to make sense.

Beautiful scent. After some initial uncertainty, I came to thoroughly enjoy the original Hero. Sweet cedar made light and airy enough for all-year use. It's versatile without being a regular, blue-style freshie. This next iteration of Hero does exactly what I think an EDP ought do: makes the EDT darker and richer. Resins and incense warm and thicken the original scent without sacrificing too much in the way of versatility. If you put on the EDT in the morning for work, you can easily throw the EDP on top before you head out for dinner. That being said, I'll probably save this one for cooler weather and stick with the orginal when it's warmer. Longevity seems moderate and projection may be on the lighter side of moderate. The price has already come down a lot on discounters to where it's a pretty good deal. Can definitely see myself buying more when I run out.

I don't get the hate for this, imo all of the hate makes this the most underrated fragrance ever. I got a sample of this fragrance as a gift, and... damn, simply damn. It's beautiful, the cedar is prominent, the fragrance is very well rounded. In fact, I got to try the original Burberry Hero, and I actually liked this one more. It's sweeter, more woody, more rounded. The other Hero was sharp, and the pepper notes were too much imo. Don't get me wrong, I think they're both great, but the EDP is slightly better, even though less expressive than the OG. It's a linear, sweet wood fragrance that holds the beauty in it's simplicity. So what if it's not the same as the original? Nearly no fragrances that have EDT and EDP variants smell the same. Women like this too, none of yall's Stronger With You's or Eros's will get nearly as many compliments as this.

@samwill89. I think you got the newer refillable bottles. My hero edp are from 2023 with the metal cap that's not refillable. I got no performance issues at all. Maybe on the first few months I only get around 5-61⁄2 hours. As the bottle age, it could go to 8 hours on my skin. Anyways this fragrance is a great fragrance. Syrupy sweet with some smokiness lingering at the back. The scent is cozy and warm. Reminds me of dried leaf during fall. But the retail price is ridiculous. This fragrance should worth 70$-90$ in my opinion. Here in Malaysia i could get it around MYR 350 (80$) on discounters. But it seems like it's already impossible to get the older unrefillable bottles. 8/10 fragrance for me. Has a special place in my heart as it's my birthday present from my mom

This is an interesting one. Lately I have been buying $50/60 clones. Some good, some ok. But it's Christmas, and I have a little money, so I wanted to treat myself. Burberry Hero EDP for $147. Why not? Also, Lately I'm getting the impression I'm overpowering the girls at work, so the next morning, i went with a simple 3 sprays. Man! I could smell the scent all day. Gentle, but refined, and oh so good. And the old saying "you get what you pay for" really range true. It's so classy, I'm now considering donating my clones. It's that good. A unique and refreshing scent. Not a fresh scent, but refreshing. Deep, rich and dark, that gently touches your nose occasionally. All day. Highly recommended.

Wow. This is a wonderful fall and winter fragrance with a slight sweetness that is not overpowering and a nice manly woodiness. It has a nice soft, warm character to it that evokes fond memories of a cozy fireplace in a log cabin or a bright walk through the woods when the ground is fresh from melted snow and the pines are still wet and fragrant. It lasts an average amount on me, with a moderate projection clocking in at about 6-8 hours, so it's office ideal and definitely good as a signature scent. For something a little different than blue fragrences. Some say it's not unique but I honestly don't know what to compare this to in my collection or otherwise. Quite wonderful!

Burberry Hero EDP is a classy, very woody men's fragrance that I definitely recommend. Very clean opening with a fresh, spicy pop. Slight incense and amber and woods in the dry down. The Cedar wood is so clean and realistic. It smells confident, upscale, modern and masculine. It's not a beast, but not meant to be. It's a decent performer with 7 hours and light sillage. It sits more close to the skin after 4 hours and would work great for a daily office, evening scent or Fall/Winter staple. You can wear this year round despite the hottest of days. I HIGHLY recommend Burberry Hero EDP if you're in the market for a stand out, versitle, clean and woody fragrance.

I really don’t get how people say “bad projection and longevity” this lasts insanely long. I get whiffs all day, hell if you accidentally spray it on your sweater you’ll smell it for a week on that sweater. This is a super woody piney masculine hint of sweet scent that’s perfect for the colder months. Had this for months and it’s above average longevity. The only real Piney scent I have, but out of my cold weather exclusive scents, 1 Million Royal, Bvlgari Man In Black, Givenchy Gentleman Boisee and Reserve Privee, this is top tier in longevity on skin and even more so on clothes. Lasts incredibly long for me. Easy 8.5/10, try it before you buy it.

I enjoy woody fragrances, I enjoy this one as soon as I put my nose to it. First wear was a few sprays, and initially I picked a deep Smokey sweetness not much pine which is no big deal. On the dry down that sweetness fades slightly but is lurking in the back but you are mostly getting a very pleasant Smokey cedar like charred in the best way possible and that scent holds true until it’s gone. Maturer scent. 7-8 total longevity closer but moderate projection Not a total blind buy safe option but worth the risk if you really want to try out a Smokey woody fragrance the quality is there to get a feel of you enjoy the scent profile.

Wood and sap. Very evergreen and resinous up top with long cedar, woody, smoky resinous dry down. A bit linear but lovely. Very well liked by others. There are no universally safe blind buys but this is as close as you can get. I can’t imagine anyone would find this offensive. Great performance on my skin. Silage strong at 8 hours and a good skin scent to 12+. Found it on my skin 24 hours after applying. Great Fall office fragrance. It’s not challenging, but for the price it is very good. Can be found under $1/ml which is very reasonable. Stronger and better performing than the EDT. I haven’t tried the parfum.

It's been my daily for winter and even if I liked it at first, it became a strong love. It can be easily summarized as strong dark wood+modern sweetness. Really masculine. What I love the most is that you won't find this fragrance twice. Not in the streets, not in any hangout, meeting, not even in the shops. It's unique. It might become a bit cloying if you overspray for indoors, but do overspray if you have a long travel ahead and it will last forever. Don't use it on warmer weathers because it will smell insufferable. The colder, the better.

Nice fragrance. Got this because I’m a huge fan of cedar. The pine is present in the opening and lends the fragrance a little sharpness at first, then it fades into cedar with a hint of sweet resin. It’s a woody, cozy, masculine fragrance. The longevity is good, especially on fabric, but it only radiates for a couple of hours until it becomes a skin scent. It’s very easy to wear. This is highly masculine without being in your face and overwhelming. I’m a woman so I know ladies would go crazy for a man wearing this 😝

This was one of my first fragrances on my journey and it is what got me hooked to this hobby. Such a nice warm, ambery, woody scent that is perfect for a range of situations from daily wear to more formal events. Can even pull it off in the warmer months with fewer sprays in my opinion. Get a bit of the pine in the beginning but the dry down is very ambery and woody. Love this stuff and will always want to have a bottle in my collection. (Both for sentimental reasons and because it is just that good!)

I’ve found people comparing Burberry Hero EDP to Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, and I can kind of see it. If we were to drop the warm incense vanilla, we would land here to this review. For me, this is the perfect unisex embodiment of cedar wood, pine trees and sap. It’s not cloying on my skin at all, and it’s a perfect all rounder for any occasion or outing. With Eau Duelle being my signature scent, I’m heavily considering this as a test variation that I could wear with more masculine outfits.

I made an account just to review this, that’s how much I love it! If you’re looking for something ambery, woody, slightly sweet, and addictive this is a great pick. Many say that this is unexciting and while it might not have the complexity you’d get from niche fragrance houses, it’s also half the price! When compared to other fragrances at similar price points it’s actually quite unique. Definitely not just another generic “man at the office” scent.

I got a sample of this and it smells better than I expected, sweet but not too sweet, sexy, boozy and woody fragrance, it lasts a good while and projects pretty well for me, even at work. This is more of a going out fragrance though but it smells great for every occasion. I definitely recommend it if you need a sweet woody fragrance for the winter/fall. 10/10 for me. I might pick up a full bottle of this eventually.

Spicy, "thicker" than the EDT, and sweet, but to me it's not a cloying sweet. I know they are different scents, but the sweetness and heaviness or thickness reminds me of Lalique Ombre Noire. Of the Heros I've tried (at the store, don't own any yet), the EDP and the EDT are my favorite. I get the pine notes more with the intense variation. Definitely on my list of future pick ups at the right price, as is the EDT.

Pine and Cedar with a hint of sweetness just the right amount. Lasts a long time, projects well and smells fantastic. If you don’t like the woody smell this isn’t for you bc this is strong on the cedar all the way through the wearing. Haven’t tried the OG or the Parfum. Blind bought to my introduction to a more linear woody scent. This does Woody exceptionally well and performs great. Shines in cold weather. 9/10

Sweet, creamy, but also weirdly fresh. I don't normally like Burberry perfumes, but I think this perfume is very nice. It also winks at the unisex side because it contains sweetness. My only criticism is that its spread and longevity could be better. I wish Burberry could produce a flanker that smells exactly the same as this perfume but performs better. Despite everything, I definitely recommend it to men.

Love the scent, but Burberry seems to use terribly cheap atomizers - I've had my bottle for about a year now and the atomizer is extremely poor. It's like those videos you see of people making their 1 Million bottles into water guns. When I had Brit, the atomizer on that also very quickly decayed to a point where my bottle was no longer usable. Kinda disappointed that this one is having the same issue.

Upon the initial spray, I was greeted with the scent of sweet incense and wood. I enjoyed this opening because I love the notes of cedar and incense, which dominated the first impression. The smell wasn't overpowering; its projection was moderate, lasting about four hours. After that, the incense faded, leaving a lingering woody amber scent on my skin that lasted until around the sixth hour.

This is soooo good! I am so picky with masculine perfumes, but this gets it right. Very sexy and cozy. I feel like I could wear this out to dinner, but also to just curl up on the couch with a book. I do wish it were more pine forward. I get the tiniest hint of pine in the opening, but that's it. I also love the smoky quality. It feels like a dad fragrance, and I'm obsessed.

I wore this fragrance to a barbershop, and while I was getting my haircut, the barber leaned in slowly and asked, "Bro, what are you wearing?" I replied, "Can you actually smell me?" He responded, "Ever since you walked in, you've lit up the entire shop." He kept asking about it over and over. It was pretty funny! Edit: it was the Parfum version, not me edp.

I got my 150 ml bottle for 72 euros. Great bargain for a great perfume. Starting with the design which is simple yet chic. The scent itself is incredibly pleasant, it's woody alright but at the same time sweet enough to be a crowd please. I can't imagine someone not liking it, great bday gift and I can imagine wearing it anytime and anywhere

Something about this fragnance is astonishing , like it simply smells great without anything harsh about it , balanced the sweet and woody aspect in a way that is addictive , honestly out of my 80+ fragnances this one is the one im probably using the most , its not a strong projector but the scent is a personal pleasure

The cologne that got me into pefumery, i went to sephora and smelt this two years ago today. and its still one of my favorite scents in my collection. Ive bought this cologne 3 times now, for around $65, this is an amazing buy. I highly reccomend this cologne to anyone who is a fan of woody fragrances.

Upfront this is a sweet pine and some balsamic spiciness before transitioning to a smoky vanilla cedar powerhouse. This is just something else. Big and bold and masculine as hell. If you like warm and woody scents with a little sweetness, this should suit you fine.

In my opinion, it smells incredibly sexy. I definitely recommend it to men. This perfume seriously excites me. A dizzying woodiness. Effortless charm. I think it definitely shines among designer men's perfumes. Please give it a chance you guys.

MY FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE OF ALL TIME AND POSSIBLYMY SIGNATURE SCENT! I had a 50ml bottle once and once i finished it, i IMMEDIATELY went and bought a 100ml one. very seductive and unique. it rocks during the fall and on those summer nights.

This is a great winter perfume. Strong and projects very well. Def an attention getter but also very enjoyable to wear. I love this, but its a very insency type vibe so if thats not ur thing u mght not like it. for me 10/10

This reminds me of a library coffee shop and having just come in from a thunderstorm before the sun blooms out again. I love it. It's earthy and sweet and the pine needles just peep through to balance it all out.

It is sweeter than I thought it would be. It’s mostly a sweet fragrance that is heavy cedar wood and a little smoky. Disregard the pine note, you won’t really smell it. I like this one a lot.

Ol' Reliable. No fuss no muss woody scent though not as simple as you'd think. Easy to wear and gets compliments frequently. Even works in the summer if you're on a woodsy hike.

I don't understand nearly all the comparisons,to me closest is spicebomb ex , with the slight cumin vibe, not to BO like, pleasant, will be good in the cold weather.

Absolutely incredible. On paper I should dislike almost every note in this and yet somehow it is my second favourite fragrance of all time. Doesn't make any sense.

This stuff is amazing dude. I don't really get the pine needles though, don't know why. Smells really hypnotic, this is a fragance what Joe Goldberg would wear.

This is great for all seasons, from fall days to summer nights, a clean-woody, elegant masculine fragrance. I wear this to work (office setting) all the time.

It's a very good perfume but just for winter and maybe cold fall days. If you smell it in the summer or warm days it smells not that good.

It’s a great men’s fragrance. It’s very easy for a teenager to pull off and smell masculine. best woods scent i’ve smelt. 9/10
