It'll get you somewhere between noticeable, but it'll remain close to the skin, which, in my opinion, is pretty perfect I really find it hard to read a review that starts with something like "when one first uncaps the vile, they're transported to a charred redwood forest... etc., etc." I think looking at the notes is hard, as everyone interprets them differently, but creating an analogy is somewhat harder, as we all imagine scenarios differently, which is super beautiful! Nonetheless, I'll try my best as a senior in high school to describe Burberry Hero. First off, this scent is good for any time, but I think it better reflects the colder months. I prefer a lighter scent in the summertime, but this could still work for a chill lake-house vibe. This would go hard on a boat. I think this bottle is really sleek; it could 100% be used in an office or maybe even on a date. I'm one of the master carpenters in the woodshop at my school, and I really often wear it then. Guys, I really don't love spicy scents, but this one does it well, where it's really not at all overdone or super headache-inducing. I would still smell Hero as well as other wood scents before you buy this, but that's my philosophy for any scent that's not cheap, and they have these at malls, makeup stores, and wherever. The top note, if you take of the magnetic cap, is really attractive and addictive, but not in the same way other scents are, as this one is simpler and easier to understand: A little bit of citrus, something boozy (which the notes don't mention), some juniper, something sweet I can't put my finger on, and vague fresh-cut wood. I guess I don't get the pepper as much as everyone else, except maybe at first in the back of my mouth. As it settles into the later notes (which is what's likely most important), it's much more focused on wood, a bit drier, and less citrusy, which I think is fun for wearing on nights out. I do wish they kept some of the citrus from earlier, as it adds a bit of attraction and depth, but I like it regardless. This was the first real cologne I bought, except for a discontinued Hollister one and CK Everyone which I wear in the summer (fairly low longevity and sillage - whoops!), and I really enjoy it. I would recommend it, but do your research! Things cost money. Be smart. Figure out when and where you would wear this. Also, this is my first review, so let me know what I should do differently.

Overall this is a beautiful fragrance, on initial application there is a very short lived note that stands out since it smells very synthetic. Thankfully this synthetic note fades out very quickly, within the first couple of minutes and is entirely gone in less then five minutes. As soon as it starts to dry down it becomes a very nice strongly woody scent with decently strong but not overpowering aromatic notes with the perfect hints of fresh and spicy mixed in. The woodyness in this fragrance doesn’t remind me of a forest or fresh cut wood at all. Rather it smells like very old dry wood, the kind you find in a workshop that hasn’t been used in a very long time. I very much enjoyed this, it reminds me of my past in a exceedingly pleasant way. There is perhaps a tiny note of sweetness in it as wel. I didn’t get any notes of powderness or citrus in it, which I am very glad of but slightly suprised about. More the citrus since it, according to Fragrantica is supposed to be very prominent but I detected none of it. The powdery notes may have been present, I think that they where what I was perceiving as sweet. The longevity on this fragrance is decent, lasting 6 to 7 hours on my skin and about 5 on my clothes. I’m happy to say as it starts to fade out around the 6 hour mark it just gets lighter and lighter untill it vanishes. I would give it a 7/10 for longevity. Projection was low for me, wearing closer to the skin but in a very enjoyable way, I think if this fragrance had projected strongly that it would have become overpowering and hard to wear. I would give it a 4/10 for projection. Even with that I would score this a 8/10 overall. I really enjoyed this fragrance I would like to try others from this line once my year of reviews it over.

I honestly think this is a masterpiece. It's a very woody fragrance but with a warm, slightly sweet hint to it. It's masculine but sexy. Youthful but sophisticated. I could wear this all day long, every day. At work, on a date, just lounging round the house... I can't get enough of this smell. It's perfect for all age ranges too. It's just a great all round classy scent. I've recently bought a few supposedly woody fragrances on my search for a new signature scent. Terre d'Hermes, Dior Homme Sport, MontBlanc Explorer but this is hands down the best of the bunch and as soon as it hit my nostrils, I knew I'd found the one. Projection and silage is average. It's not beast mode but it's not a poor performer either. It's what I'd expect from this sort of price point and there's nothing stopping you from applying a couple of extras sprays after a few hours if you want to top up the performance. This gets a perfect 10 from me. It's my new signature scent and is probably the best masculine woody fragrance available today.

I absolutely love this fragrance. Its a modern, masculine fragrance that is pretty much citrus (bergamot but I also think citron is in this one) and cedar. Its an obvious cedar dominant fragrance and that is the star of the show. Its like freshly cut cedar wood that is at the perfect age of maturation, and it is amazing. The juniper and black pepper helps to make it a but spicy but just enough. Its really the perfect amount of spice if you ask me. Some will say its basic but you are not going find a better cedar frag for the price point, its some good quality juice. It does get a tad powdery but in the most masculine way. This is such a great work scent every season besides winter but you can get away with it then too. I've been getting a solid 5-6 hours. Which is the downside but I'm okay with that. In warmer weather you will get more projection and longevity. The sun is this fragrance's best friend. And this fragrance is my best friend in summer, warmer spring and fall days.

This and the EDP are unique. Nothing smells like them. They stand out on any walk through smelling of a departments scents. It's not blue and it's not ambroxan and it's not sweet. This bucks the trend. It doesn't smell like any older or classic scent so it really has potential to create new and unique impressions on people. This stands out. If you smell several scents in a day and also smell this, you will understand. Closely harmonized accords of a gentlemanly and sexy wood, not smoke nor tobacco. Not fresh citrus or sailing scent. This is a sophisticated lumberjacks go to, the homesteading bitcoin investor who home schools his kids and knows self sufficiency and tradition forever trump the worlds cheap plastic values and fake virtue signalling for "diversity" and conformity. For the farmer who drinks bourbon and the philosopher who still reads books on paper. Mans cologne of thought and action.

I had the privilege of smelling and purchasing this without realizing it was from that infamous Adam Driver advert. I think that cheesy commercial turned a lot of reviewers off. Hero is not a fascinating niche fragrance, but an excellent daily driver. Cedar is the unequivocal main note here, and it stays throughout the moderate longevity with support from black pepper. The bergamot zest is more apparent at the beginning and fades throughout. I find this fragrance lovely. Minimal note-wise, everything plays a supporting role to cedar. Tailor-made for the office, it's got character without being offensive or overpowering. I tend to dislike Burberry fragrances; Mr. Burberry, in particular, smells like a day-drinking plaid-wearing football hooligan. Hero, by contrast, is outdoorsy, refined, and uninterested in the goings-on of Manchester United.

I find it interesting that 2 of my most favorite designer scents (this and D&G K EDT) are also 2 of the most hated amongst the fragrance community lol. I love this stuff. Bright with a hint of spice. People say it’s generic but it’s quite unique to my nose. I went back and forth between if I liked this or the EDP more, but I think the EDT is my fav. If I had to strip my 40+ bottle collection (niche, designer, and clones/cheapies) to 10, Burberry Hero EDT would make the cut. Plus my wife likes it on me as well. It’s longevity is it’s only drawback in my opinion. Projects really good for me for maybe an hour and then suddenly turns into a skin scent. I have a dupe roller ball oil that I sometimes wear with it to help. But yeah, this is one I’ve been kinda obsessed with since I first smelled it in the mall 2 years before I actually bought it.

This is totally my kind of scent. I love woody colognes, and this one delivers. It's almost entirely built on a warm rich cedar base that is very masculine and appealing. It brings lots of peppery spice to add character and the juniper and bergamot give it liveliness and lift. There's just enough sweetness to smooth things out a bit, and the overall accord is a traditional woodsy one but with a modern refinement. This is a great versatile all season scent that's safe but interesting. The only knock is that the performance is pretty average, with several hours of moderate projection before it becomes more of a lingering skin scent. This is one you will need to reapply it you're looking for an all-day scent. But so-so performance aside, if you like woody scents you still can't go wrong with this one. I dig it.

Anywhere, anytime. Of my 100+ bottle collection (mostly designer and niche) this is in the top 5. It’s so easy and pleasant. I get that it’s been done before but it smells so nice and easy going. Got a compliment this first day wearing it. Recently my fragrances have been over projecting, sounds like a good problem to have, but I’m rarely in a situation where loud fragrances are appreciated.. (blue collar guy from MN) Most women love this stuff too, unless you’re dating someone that is super into fragrances as well and thinks it’s too mainstream. You can wear this stuff without being afraid of choking anyone out. It doesn’t last forever but you can depend on getting whiffs of it for 3-5 hours. I’m a fan, but maybe I’m basic lol

I really love this, it is a guilty pleasure for me. It is very fresh but also very woody scent and it smells very masculine. Opening is citrusy, dries to peppery-woody blend. Nothing is too synthetic or low quality, impossible to offend anyone and gets the job done. Great for all seasons in office-daily use, can be bought for very cheap prices; I believe 150ml bottle can be found for 70 usd which is a pretty good deal. Scents like this one, MB explorer, Monclear Pour Homme or Missioni Parfum are amazing all year rounders without smelling just like fresh clean citruses. They have some depth and character in them. Wished it was a little bit stronger tho, doesn't last much longer than 5 hours but projection is satisfying.

Sure, it may be non-complex and fairly simple... but it's a really nice masculine scent. I agree with the reviewer who said it actually ends up being quite unique in its simple goodness. It certainly is versatile. I really like it... although the woodsy vibe isn't my favorite profile overall. Only issue I have is, the performance is unremarkable, while the price is still high compared to other casual frags like Mont Blanc Legend or what have you. So you can overspray it and smell great, but it's a tad pricey for that type of thing. Still... it's an easy everyday reach, so if you like that woodsy profile, go for it. BTW -- I find using the EDT in the daytime and the EDP in the evening is a great way to go with this.

I could really see Adam Driver using this. It is masculine to say the least but it also has some kind of sweetnes to it. While it may not be a groundbreaking smell, it is definitely good. This could go nice inbetween 10-22 C°. Nice with an overcoat and a light jacket. I like Burberry in general and this was something that I expected to be good and it fulfilled my expectations. It has that overcoat-scarf-hat combination kind of smell (by that, I mean it would suit that trio really good). Because it was not groundbreaking, I was really in the middle of a 7 and an 8 and at the end of the day... 8/10

This is definitely a safe blind buy. I love the edt for daily use, it's powerful in the beginning, very spicy, but quickly calms down and you can really appreciate the scent in its fullest form. I'm not great at describing all of the notes, but to me this is such a good blend of citrus and woody, neither is begging for the attention, which allows you to really appreciate both for what they're worth. It's such a simple fragrance that you can't really go wrong with purchasing it and as long as you can handle the spicy opening, you will really like this for a good daily and year-round fragrance.

This is the best wood ever used in fragrance and when I say that I mean this is my favourite type of wood to smell out of any fragrance, the wood here is just done to perfection. Wood is actually quite a hard note to do correctly here it's amazing they picked the right type of woods, the right amount of wood and it smells like the quality of the wood is done well too. No stinky woods or green poisonous smelling woods used, only clean smelling woods. Also I think i'm the only person to notice this but I think it smells similar to Byredo Gypsy water which I also own a bottle of

This was "meh" to me on intial spray, but, for some reason, I kept wanting to smell it. After a few days, I realized that this is really good. It's not a heavy or resinous scent, just a lightweight, sweet cedar with a little spice. Appropriate for just about any occassion or season; it's not sweet to the point of seeming juvenile or dry to the point of smelling overly mature. Longevity and projection are on the lighter side of moderate. You can get the 100 mL for under $70 right now on discounters, and I think that's fair. In the end, this went from a "meh" to a firm "like."

If you like scents like DH 2020, you will like this. Just a very nice, slightly introverted scent in a sea of sweet attention getting try-hards. Some might call it boring, but it's anything but, personally I think it's sexy and has character. The first time I wore it I wasn't overly impressed, but what I find is that the more I wear it the more I appreciate it's simplicity and versatility. It's a grower for sure. Performance could be better, but it's not terrible. I get around 5 hours of moderate projection, and moderate silage. Signature scent worthy and a 5 for me.

This is a really great fragrance because it stands out from a lot of the other designer fragrances nowadays and it fits the Burberry brand perfectly. It reminds me of an old English mansion, a kind of old smell, but at the same time it is modern. I'm not sure how they did it but it's perfect for those looking for that old Burberry vibe but at the same time it doesn't literally smell like a vintage perfume. The performance isn't amazing but still it lasts a good time. Overall this is one of my favorite scents and I'm glad it fits so well with the brand.

This review is from the POV of a woman in her early 20s. I received a sample and immediately loved it and gave it to my boyfriend to wear. It smells like a very attractive man I would feel comfortable around. Sweet, reminds me a little of shampoo, but nothing light or fruity. It’s very pleasant and would be great for summer or daytime. My boyfriend and I compared it to Burberry Hero EDP and both agreed this is the winner. The bottle is nice and classic, not too flashy just like the scent. I would recommend and also convinced my boyfriend to get it lol.

This was a blind buy and it was amazing! People are mentioning that this fragrance doesn’t last long, but on my skin I get easily 7-8 hours of longevity and STRONG projection for the first 2-3 hours then mild to soft projection through out the day for me. It smells woody and spicy but not in a warm terms. It sounds like it’s a basic smell, which it could be but it has something that makes it stand out compared to others in this price range. I personally love it and think it’s a safe blind buy, but performance will vary person to person!

IN LOVE WITH THIS! The scent is familiar.. maybe reminiscent of Sauvage? Y? Terre d'Hermes? .... But oh my.. that one is soo simple yet so addicting... It's RAW cedar wood for once.. Barely affected by other notes.. It has a sweet woodiness to it.. enhanced by the non-empowering spiciness of black pepper and the green accord of juniper.. and the bergamot is here for a soft citrusy touch, that balances the woodiness.. This is just.. PERFECT... Not a singular synthetic note to my nose... Smells like hiking in a deep green forest... 9/10

Delicate and understated, it’s noticeable without ever being intrusive. Fresh, woody, and masculine, it’s suitable for all seasons and occasions, without feeling banal or overly sweet. It’s an everyday fragrance, perfect for the office, original despite being a designer scent, and it can be compared to the woody family, such as Dior Homme. Overall, it offers an excellent balance of freshness and woodiness, ideal for those who want a fragrance that isn’t demanding yet never predictable.

The smell is unique so this is good addition for anyone's collection, must go crazy with the sprays for any type of sillage, will last and project for 30 minutes up to an hour and half depending how much you overspray then becomes a skin scent and that last for about the rest of the day so at least you can smell yourself, i loved it but got bored of it quickly, and I guess yes I'd recommend it to someone, knowing what I know now I don't think I'd buy it in the first place.

It's been awhile since the last time I've worn this, but boy, is it good. For around 50 euros, it's a very nice-smelling fragrance that lasts I'd say, around 5–6 hours. It has a very woody/citrusy smell and smells very fresh. As far as the sillage, it's moderate. I very much recommend this for spring, summer, and fall. Update: I sprayed some on my wrist yesterday night (around 12am) and I can still lightly smell it at 6:40PM today.

Barbershop fresh fragrance with a woody base. Super clean, masculine and easy to wear. Safe for the office, gym, and one of those perfect daily wear fragrances, definitely could be signature worthy. If you like those classic, clean, mass appeal fragrances this is one of them, I personally like this profile over most of the designer fresh fragrances. Longevity - 6/10 (overspray this!!!) Sillage - 5/10 Scent profile - 8.5/10

As a woman, I love this on a man! Smelling it, I associate a romantic date or a late summer evening stroll hand-in-hand by a lake, cuddling up when the colder air hits after sunset. The combination of the cooler top / middle notes and the warmer base notes reminds me of late summer and early fall days in nature. I also appreciate that there is no unpleasant sharpness, just freshness, which adds a tad of sophistication.

Not everything needs to be complex to be great. This is a linear and simple fragrance but done very well. A cedar based masculine scent. Subtle yet very manly and potentially extremely sexy if used during a summer date night. If she catches a whiff of this it won’t go unnoticed. Only drawback is longevity, about 6 hours but i think projection is as perfect as it is. It doesn’t need to be overpowering to work its magic

I'm really convinced hero is one of the best contemporary generic perfumes ever created. It follows the contemporary trend of minimalistic design. Designed for compliments. Simple recipe blended masterfully to perfection. High quality ingredients. Citrus, juniper berries, black pepper and cedarwood oils. The result is a sophisticated ultra masculine luxurious shower gel. I love it and i can't get enough of it!!

I don’t know what it is about this fragrance, but I REALLY enjoy it, and there’s room for it in my collection. I love the simplicity of the bottle design, the versatility and wearability of the fragrance itself - it just really does it for me. The reviews saying it’s nothing mind blowing are correct, but it’s also not another ambroxan or tonka bomb. Clean, sophisticated, and safe. Definitely blind buy worthy!

I find it amusing when a designer fragrance is called generic and isn't remotely similar to anything else. Hero by Burberry is like stepping into a fresh cedar forest on a brisk morning. I can't help but compare it to Dior Homme 2020; while Dior takes you on a crisp, clean journey with its breezy and effervescent vibes, Burberry's Hero is like the rugged and adventurous sibling. Finally picked up a reasonably priced bottle after trying it in store over a year ago. Smells completely different than I remember. The bergamot is so fresh and juicy, and I love the strong cedar backbone. This is perfect for all year wear, as with most Burberry fragrances, performance and longevity are slightly above average. I have a feeling I'll be reaching for this one a lot this summer.

I love this fragrance! It's simple but it is one of my favorites! While overall proformance isn't that good, it is still a beautiful fragrance while also being versitile. It smells very woody with some fresh bergamot and personally reminds me of the smell of a fresh cristmas tree. Fresh, woody and citrusy would be how I describe this fragrance. I love it!

Absolutely love this!!! An amazing fresh, woody, and slightly citrusy fragrance. Extremely versatile fragrance suitable for all occasions. I tend to wear it spring through fall, but not often in winter. I find it isn’t strong enough, and doesn’t project well in temperatures below 10 degrees centigrade. A great daily and safe purchase.

I don’t understand the hate towards this, I like it very much! Smells fresh, clean and professional yet more unique than other blue scents. Can be worn anytime and I believe it’s the best fragrance to give a good first impression. Longevity is good for me, around 6-8 hrs with 4 sprays As a bonus, magnetic cap and decent atomizer!

I really like the smell, doesn't smell synthetic. The top and mid notes last for about 30 minutes and then there is this rich smelling slightly spicy and fresh cedar. It lasts for about 5 hours but it projects well only if you are sweating or in high heat. Definitely don't pay retail price, buy it at the trusted discounters.

I really like this one. Macy's keeps sending me samples of the EDT and EDP. They smell different and my preference is clearly for the EDT. I finally purchased a full-sized bottle. It's a strong, pleasant citrusy cedar scent with good performance. It's better than that the perfume rating here indicates. Recommend.

My most commonly worn fragrance by far. Burberry Hero is an amazing, fresh, woody, and masculine fragrance that isn't overpowering for summer months. I wear this cologne very often as its scent is so versatile; perfect for school, work, or going out. Overall, just an underrated, but amazing daily fragrance.

Surprised by the "low" score on this one. This fragrance (EdT) has given me several unsolicited compliments from strangers and friends over the years. This is a safe, clean scent. Phenomenal for office and brunch (!). Works great for all four seaons. You can easily use it as a date-fragrance as well.

I agree with others that it is the most practical, but it is not generic smelling like some say. It’s a woody fragrance, yet the EDP is the most woody for me. I get a lot of compliments on this. I like it a lot. It’s professional smelling. You can find testers on EBay for around $45. Crazy

This bad boy right here is a masterpiece, it's everything I could want in an everyday masculine fragrance. It has a beautiful sweet citrusy followed by a powerful woody and addictive dry down while still maintaining that subtle sweet scent. I love it and it's my beautiful underrated boy.

daily drivers can be found in the hero line, and this edt is the dailiest of them all. citrusy woody and peppery. smells great albeit very simple. it didnt last on my skin for as long as it did on my clothing. my dad thought the smell that lingered was my fart. it is still worth getting.

The smell is addictive, to say the least. One of my favorite colognes ever. Its performance and longevity is ok. However, it makes up for it with an amazing scent that will for sure get you some compliments. Oh, it is also very versatile and could be worn in every situation imaginable.

Burberry Hero EDP smells amazing. It gives off a fresh out-of-the-shower vibe and keeps me smelling fresh all day. The scent balances warmth and freshness perfectly. It's ideal for fall and winter, with its cozy, clean, and warm aroma that fits perfectly with the cooler months.

I first tried it in store I preferred the amber eau du parfum but next day I tried eau du toilette and honestly it was way fresher perfect for spring /summer not to offensive smelling but still masculine to be honest it’s fresh clean woody masculine what more can you ask

Wasn't sure about it after an initial wear, but it has really grown on me. I get really good performance off my skin and have received numerous compliments. I love the simplicity of the scent. So much so I just ordered another bottle. IMO, signature scent worthy.

So why do I think this smells like the perfect mix of Mont Blanc Legend and Dior Savage? Two that I LOVE on men. It's amazing! It also smells similar to Burberry Brit Rhythm, another love. In fact I could say Hero is a more refined more expensive smelling Rhythm.

beautiful fall/winter fragrance. confidently blind-buy this. while i dont have the nasal palette to say whether its listed notes ring true, i can attest to it smelling woody. it projects well without being overbearing, however i would recommend spraying lightly

I'm coming back to this. This has the "cologne" smell familiar with the classic masculine fragrances. I really like it. Suitable for more mature men. I wish they would make an EDP concentration of this. The current EDP is a completely different fragrance.

Love it!! Super clean and woody. I'm not really into complex fragrances im really boring, and this did the trick. I love the cedar in this it smells so real and authentic. I'll admit it doesn't last as long but I dont mind - I can just reapply as needed.
