Mr. Burberry Element

Lots of confusion in these reviews, perhaps because the note pyramid doesn’t really make sense to most people especially in the opening and the mid. The opening of this is actually a sweet, creamy orange accord with aquatic nuances (calone) and it gradually transitions to something herbal and slightly metallic while retaining some creaminess, and eventually oakmoss/evernyl enters and becomes stronger to make it smell masculine in a modern way. Cashmeran shows it’s face in the deep drydown. The calone or calone-like aquatic touches hum away most of the time. One thing is for certain, smells nothing like Invictus, but these days paper-strip reviewers say everything smells like Invictus, seemingly more as an insult than as an actual comparison even though Invictus sells by the buckets to it’s intended youth market. If I had to choose the closest fragrance to this, I’d say this gradually begins to resemble Polo Red or could be a Polo Red flanker in the series, which is often the secret progenitor of many fragrances termed “generic”. Performance on me is strong and long for this price range. @scentcurator

I have a large bottle of this perfume, which is waiting for spring. Perfume Pyramid is correct. You smell almonds and Juniper and this is all on mineral notes with Ambergris and Oakmoss. If you like a base of such notes, buy a sample, because this is not a bad perfume. I don't know why they removed it, simply too little people knew about it. I will write something more as soon as I wear it again

Recently received a tester bottle in the mail and I'm now into my 3rd hour of wearing this fragrance. I'm actually quite surprised, as it's not what I had expected. It seems quite herbal. Certainly not a "blue scent". I own close to 100 perfumes and I can't say that Element smells like anything else in my collection. It's not a love (yet), but I'm very happy to have it in my collection.

I received Mr. Burberry Element as a gift from a friend, and I really love it. It smells fresh with a slight sweetness, and I think it works well for every situation. The problem now is that I have less than 10ml left, and I can’t seem to find it anywhere anymore.

Invictus style fragrance but better than Invictus. Great performance.

I was given this frag as a gift by a friend, and it was a great choice! This frag does not stick around for exceptionally long, but this can be a positive - wearing this early in the day allows it to be replaced with another fragrance in the evening without conflict. The initial drydown ends up translating as a citrusy orange with an aquatic base - reminescent of Jimmy Choo Man Intense, almost. Never fear, however, as within a couple of minutes it fades into a creamy, rich almond with darker woodsy elements - much more in line with the advertised notes. Towards the later stages of drydown the scent warms up and becomes earthy and sugary, with the oakmoss slowly revealing itself and overtaking the ambergris. Silage is modest post application - this is a scent that has been formulated with professional contexts kept in mind, and as such does its best to keep from becoming overbearing. After a couple of hours, as the top notes eventually fade, the fragrance remains noticeable within arm's length and leaves a gentle trail behind. Element is no revolutionary brainchild, nor does it aspire to be one - and that's absolutely acceptable. This is a fragrance that aims to be multi-purpose while still remaining distinctive and masculine, and I would say it absolutely succeeds. Its sweet, woodsy scent and inoffensive nature make Element very wearable - this fragrance won't turn heads, but you'll find yourself receiving compliments about it in more intimate contexts. Recommended.

I smelled this one by accident I would say. I was just walking thru the store looking at the bottles for something I havent seen before. This one got some nice sweet opening and was interesting at first. The bad thing is I was about to get YSL Y parfum version that I fell in love with that day. At the end it was either Element or Y. I went with Element. Performance: Its not loud, its super light 6/10 Sillage: the scent is not even trying hard :( 6/10 Bottle: looks cool 10/10 I cannot wear it during the day too much since I cannot smell myself or doesnt give me the ''pass out'' feeling when I smell it. So I started using Acqua di Gio profumo since its a ratatata killa for brain cells and wear this before sleep just to smell nice in the bed haha. 5/10 for the sillage Seems like nobody even knows about this one wtf. But it can stay like that since its quite dissapointing.

Well i tested this today, first spray gives of an aquatic almond vibe, i must say i actually find this one to be pretty good, maybe even my favorite from the mr burberry flankers. It lasted about 6-8 hours on my skin and projected for about two hours, I think i might buy a bottle as soon as i get a discount or anything.

Superboring blue scent. Not worth my money or words.

Sometimes when you listen to someone sing, you find that you're far more turned off by a good singer hitting a flat note than someone who is completely off key. As someone that's really into music, that off note infuriates me. This fragrance infuriates me the same way. The opening is actually quite nice - green almond, juniper, that part is very pleasant. Smell the atomizer and you can get a soft and pretty unique opening wafting through. Then the mineral notes come in. I really don't like that part - to my nose it is cloying and metallic, sharp like paint thinner and with the sweetness of rusting metal. It sits there in the mix being the infuriating flat note. I bought this before I knew to wait for the drydown during testing at the store. And it still fools me each time - after a few weeks of not wearing it, I'll smell the opening and think I'll give it another chance and then after an hour find myself wanting to shower. It's strong and performs well - I will give it that. It could've been a good fragrance and dare I say a unique fragrance, which is something rare in the designer world - if it weren't for that damn flat note. See why it's infuriating?

It’s crazy how this didn’t get more hype when it was out. Smoothes out that invictus style Y-ish DNA. Very well done and doesn’t bother me at all. Performs really well for an edt as well. Better then invictus aqua. I’ll be back with more thoughts. Edit: For an "EDT" this stuff is strong. After a few wears it has a colonge -ish smell (mall/invictus/macy's). Thats not a big downside but Im just pointing it out. It has a green herbal nuace which takes it away from being a straight up invictus clone. Overall its good but I always go back and fourth on these boarderline Invictus DNA's. I love it but I've also moved on. Sample worthy for sure and it can be had for a great price even though its been discountined for a while now. Edit: there was something like calone/ambroxian that really bothered me in the far dry down. For an EDT, this performs very well.

Sadly, just another Invictus wannabe. I mean by far the closest one. Perfume originality?! Decaying since 2010s...
