My Burberry Black Parfum Limited Edition

Until this very day, I had never realized that I needed or wanted a "comfort" fragrance. This is the fragrance equivalent of a quart of Pralines and Cream ice cream after a heartbreak. I sprayed it on in the morning and experienced a "perfectly adequate" opening of fruity, patchouli, amber and powdery notes. Within an hour (as I was driving) it had become a soft, comforting peachy-powdery "Aahhh", and had the markings of a scent I would consider for my "Want" list. As I neared the end of my drive an hour later, I began realizing that this was the smell of soft, comforting sleepy Sunday morning love wrapped in hugs. A phrase from a song formed in my mind "I hope you both feel the sparks by the end of the drive. I hope you know she's the one by the end of the night." My Burberry Black is going on my very short list of "want" fragrances. I try them all, but only the special ones make it to my list. I guess you could say that we're now engaged. :)

I have both versions. Several bottles. I do believe the silver caps were given something extra. Extra depth and power and more concentrated sweetness. I’ve sprayed them side by side and the silver capped bottles are more luscious and longer lasting. Maybe MBB was reformulated at some point and the silver caps are from a time before a reformulation occurred? Not sure. But it does feel deeper and more potent. I don’t think the difference is enough for anyone who doesn’t have the silver capped ones to feel too sad about. My favorite perfume on the planet. Black or silver. Update: No ...it’s really true. The silver caps are like pure perfume. They are definitely the strongest and longest lasting of the two types of bottles. This one is better than the black/brown caps, for sure! Both are beautiful but this one is my ultimate perfume.

When I purchased it, I thought it's a limited edition of My Burberry Black, but when it came I realized it's completely different concentration. Still, I'm really happy of this unexpected blind buy, as it is gorgeous. The silage and longevity are amazing. I can mostly smell amber patchouli mix, sweetened by this kind of peach only Burberry seems to have. Later on, I can also detect rose. The peach rose combo makes the middle phase quite sweet and cozy. It is rather colder weather scent. I wear it in a rainy May, when temperatures don't go above 20 degree Celsius, and it works perfectly. I like Burberry scents, even though they might not be groundbreaking, I appreciate the quality. My Burberry Black Silver edition is no exception here, I love this one and I'm happy I got it.

This is absolutely stunning, get it while you can! This is the quality I was hoping from Hedonistic Viktotia Minya would be like, but that one is so fleeting in my skin that it doesn’t justify the price. But this beauty is incredible, it’s so dense and concentrated, even my skin that eats up all perfume is able to hold this for several hours. You can still find a few bottles online, so get it, thank me later! This is a very dense smelling peach mixed with rose, syrup like, but very sophisticated syrup. I smell all the notes separately and together at the same time, if that makes sense. It was a blind by, and I’m very happy that I trusted my gut instinct! Make sure that you are purchasing the limited addition perfum version, It has a silver cap and only comes in 90ml.

I have the brown/black cap My Burberry Black 1oz and loved it so much I wanted to try and now have the My Burberry Black Limited Edition 3oz (which as others have noted is the only size it comes in). The 3oz bottle is quite substantial and heavy, like a little brick;) As far as aesthetics, I really like the MBB dark brown/black "tortoise" cap and black bow and I think they fit the name and fragrance better than the silver bow and cap on the MBBLI. As well, the silver cap doesn't fit as snuggly and slips off rather a little too easily. As far as the fragrance I cannot yet discern any difference in the between the two. I will update if I can detect any difference in the smell and the longevity between the two. Update: I cannot tell them apart by scent or longevity.

I got the parfum sample from belks and I don't know if this is the elixir or not so I'm going to review here and on the original. The pure parfum of this fragrance is incredible.. its dense & syrupy. You can smell a strong peach note blended in with the roses. I even get citrus in here even though it's not listed in the notes blended in with the peach and rose. The patchouli is there but only a touch of it. It's not patchouli dominant. This lasts quite some time 4-6 hours and longer on clothes. It's very sweet and dense so go easy on the first spray. This is probably the best unique fragrance Burberry has made yet and worth trying I think many will love it. It's sophisticated to wear on a night out and the bottle looks stunning.

This scent is just beautiful, nothing like anything else is special- my favorite!! But does not last that long so you have to reapply it. Reminds me of the smell of an exclusive chocolate shop. I have the Eau De Parfum Spray in 2 sizes & because of the size of the bottle it is a bit awkward to spray & the brown lid falls off.

@carian: which perfume are you reviewing? Because this one is only available in one size of 90ml, and the cap is silver, that's why it's called Silver Edition on Burberry.com
