Snow Blossom

This reminds me a bit of Chanel Misia, except it's not lipstick-y because that elegant powder note is from Violet rather than Iris. The Mate and bergamot notes together, are so addictive, and I barely detect suede - I guess it just adds a touch of depth and interest, but you'd never identify it as leather (I don't like leather notes in fragrance). It also reminds me of Diptyque Tempo, minus patchouli, because that's also heavy on the Mate and Violet. It's very elegant and chic. I bought the full bottle!

Somehow manages to portray in the opening the hush of first snowfall, a world draped in crystalline silence. The air, ozonic, pure—so light it verges on weightlessness. A fleeting moment where cold is still clean, before the hush begins to settle into something heavier. The powder drifts, soft at first, a gentle accumulation. Then it thickens. Jesus. The frost, once crisp, melts into a dense, cloying coat of powdered sweetness. Innocent, but in the way of something too unrefined, too preserved, like the artificial baby-softness of a stained doll’s cheek. The snow loses its shimmer, turning from weightless sparkle to suffocating dirtiness. Freshness fades, and in its place, a warmth too thick, too smothering, too sweetly wrong.

If you love fresh violets with a hint of greenness in the background, then this one is for you!

This is very quiet, dry and smooth fragrance. I sort of get the snow reference but I have yet to smell any perfume that actually smells like snow. This is all about violets and suede. It is a very cosy fragrance, perfect for cool days but I am trying it on a hot Australian summer day and it is not cloying or suffocating. There is something a bit like mountain air about it- clean, sharp and dry so maybe that helps. I blind bought it and it’s definitely a success. Unisex, moderate sillage and good for all purposes except maybe going to the beach!
