The Beat Intense Elixir

I don't remember when was the last time that I was so fascinated with a scent until this beauty came along. I got a sample of it this morning (thank you Perseia) and I am constantly sniffing my wrist! By far the most wonderful Burberry perfume creation and I think it could be easily in my top five perfumes, maybe even very close to my signature scent, but for that I need to spend some time with it. The only complain is that this is "Elixir", probably limited and definitely harder to find... This perfume is dancing on the line between vintage and modern, green and sweet, melancholic and happy. On my skin I am getting all of it, powdery iris with some sweet vanilla and green tea mixed together into most perfect blend, with some woodiness and musk lingering behind. I am in love!

Very beautiful soft, herbal, sweet unisex fragrance. Very high quality and well made. The opening is like herbal tea and as it dries down it gets sweeter, more powdery and softer. I get quite a lot of violet - a note I sometimes struggle with. But here it is very well blended and ads a light, powdery sweetness to the tea, iris, vetiver and vanilla. It is long lasting but doesn't have a lot of sillage. The scent is calming, cosy and a bit melancholic. Nothing loud or heavy. I find it almost intellectual - a scent celebrating the beauty of science and nature perhaps?

I simply adore this version of Burberry Beat! I tried for months to track it down and was finally able to source it in Europe. It's a deliciously seductive tea and iris fragrance bolstered and grounded by vanilla, amber and musk in the best of ways. Every time I move a delicious waft of it teases my nose! I wear it sparingly and fall more in love each time I spritz it. I agree with Happyme2009 - this is immaculate.

Simply put this is one of the most immaculate iris creations ever made. I have to say that it doesn't smell like the normal Beat. It's an iris that has the typical carrot note a la Hiris tamed down by powder and a gentle sweetness . the Ceylon tea here is not bitter, it seems a little milky. The vanilla shows up at the end of the show, it's raw and mature, not the gourmand type. This comes in pure perfume concentration only, expect it to be long lasting on skin and clothes, but without a strong silage. Superb and extremely elegant. Distinguished , aristocratic, and of course melancholic, like all th other high class iris perfumes.
