Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence

I can understand some of the hate / disappointment for this fragrance... However, the Bvlgari Man line isn't exactly known for its unique / challenging fragrances. Sure, they are not "Blue", Amborxan type scents... But they aren't risky, overall unique fragrances... So, when seeing Glacial Essence, I expected something along these lines. Now, I also would not have been surprised with the Bvlgari Man line, if they did develop a fresh fragrance with an unique DNA, which I imagine is where a lot of the "disappointment" comes from. Now... Admittedly, I am a fan of this line and currently enjoy all of the releases that I own - Including GE. The opening is amazing... Fresh, brisk, icy with some cool spiciness. The bad thing, within 5-10 minutes this great opening begins to fade away. This would be expected in this type of scent, however, I wish more of that "glacial" feeling was felt further into the dry down. This is a modern fresh fragrance - But the Juniper and Artemisia do create a slight mature feeling. While this is very fresh and easy to wear, I could see younger guys going with something different. As stated, the opening - Awesome. The dry down, while still a quality masculine fresh-woody - It looses some of that "glacial" feel and does become somewhat pedestrian. Which is a bit disappointing... However, this is still a very nice Summer scent and the bottle is very nice looking. Think something along the lines of Versace Signature Pour Homme mixed with something in the realm of Dior Homme Cologne. This has grown on me... But, as I said, I am a fan of this line in general and could be some of my own internal bias. This is NOT worth full retail... However, I have only seen it discounted between $75-ish - $80 (which it is not worth that either). This will save you a little chunk of money, as this line goes for approx. $115/100ml. GE will probably hover around the $70-$75 mark for a little while longer, then probably drop down to around $60-$65... Which is about what Bvlgari MiB goes for. I have to imagine that this will not stay at the price range, as it is not anywhere near as good as MiB and will drop more in-line with releases like the OG Man, Black Cologne (which I think is awesome) and Man Extreme... $40-$50/100ml. For that price, this is a great pickup. Just not sure how long it will take to get to that price point.

It just SCREAMS 2000s freshie to me. Personal: 8.5/10 – Fresh, icy, and aromatic. I don't usually like juniper, but here I do. I really enjoy this fragrance. Mass appeal: 8/.510 – Clean, fresh, and bright. Most will enjoy it, but juniper is a bit divisive. Performance: 6/10 – Moderate longevity and projection. Not terrible for a freshie, but not remarkable either. Value: 6.5/10 – Priced fairly as a designer, but doesn’t feel like a must-buy given how many similar options exist. That said, it's worth it if you love it. Uniqueness: 7/10 – The “icy freshness” angle isn’t new, and while it’s VERY well polished, it doesn’t stand out in a crowded category. Points for how well rounded it is. SCORE: 73/100 Full bottle buy? YES, I would totally rock this as a winter daytime freshie. It's 4 season versatile. Blind buy? YES, safe enough for anyone who likes freshies, just mind the juniper. Recommend? YES, for someone who wants a versatile, very high quality freshie. Date night? YES, clean and plain. Great for first dates or casual summer dates. Not formal. Office safe? YES, very clean, crisp, and professional, perfect for that context. Pros: Clean and versatile, very safe and mass appealing, refreshing “icy” effect. Cons: Somewhat generic, underwhelming performance, lacks uniqueness or character. Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence is a great designer freshie that is boosted by a cooling juniper kick that I really, really enjoy. Usually I'm not a fan of juniper, but here I think it works quite well. It opens with an icy blast of a frozen-smelling citrus, woods, aromatics and some fresh spices. Rather interestingly, I find this to be very similar to Montblanc's Legend Red, and for that reason, I won't be buying a full bottle, but I honestly wish I would have this over Legend Red. It's just such a good freshie that I actually want to keep smelling over and over. Not quite a proper masterpiece, but it's one of the best ~$100 fresh designer options. I need to stop reviewing it before I bump it to a 9 for my personal score. One of the best cool-but-not-menthol fragrances I've smelled. Very wearable for 4 seasons. The ginger brings brightness and lift, while the juniper adds a crisp, aromatic sharpness that keeps the scent from drifting into generic “blue” territory. There’s an airy quality throughout that evokes snow-capped mountains—clean, open, and elevated—with a faint icy aquatic nuance that reinforces the glacial theme without feeling synthetic. This was once a signature scent for me, and even as my collection has expanded, it has remained a reliable daytime reach. Learning that it has been discontinued pushed me to order a backup bottle, knowing it may not be available much longer. That decision wasn’t driven by hype or panic, but by familiarity—this is a fragrance I know I’ll want to return to. Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence doesn’t demand attention. It earns repeat wear through balance, longevity, and compatibility. Fresh without being boring, modern without being loud, and quietly confident—this is the kind of scent you realize the value of once it’s no longer guaranteed to be there.

Basic and fresh, really accurate representation of winter/glacial though. It's a bit weird but I like wearing this in the winter more than summer because it makes me just smell good without being a tryhard and it also kinds of makes this illusion that I didn't wear fragrance and just naturally smell good. I used it mostly during highschool since I got it for cheap so I won't comment too badly about the price but I will still defend that this works as a winter fragrance. Smell - accurate representation of winter. The woody and aromatic notes of this just hits your nose like how it feels like -30 air would start freezing your lungs. The juniper berries creates this nice scent that smells just like the snow falling. The powdery notes that are so subtle encapsulates the fleeting warmth even after bundling up. Overall, this is a very accurate representation of how winter feels and smells like. 10/10 Longetivity - how in the world does this last like 6-8 hours in winter while being exposed to school air 9/10 Sillage - ok 6/10 8.3/10 overall. I actually wouldn't recommend this because the retail is quite overpriced and you can easily get something better for a similar price or cheaper. I also don't think it's a safe blind buy so just try before you buy, and avoid retail price if possible. It's also not a fragrance that would get a bunch of people asking you what your fragrance is since it's not bold, sexy, or complicated - it just smells like winter.

Masculine, clean, cool, calming, pleasing, a waterfall of freshness, summery, and very suitable for everyday use. The name Glacial perfectly expresses the content of the fragrance. One of the creations of the famous perfumer Alberto Morillas. The strange thing is that Glacial Essence does not have any DNA of the original Bvlgari Man. The fragrance is based on a completely dominant note of juniper berry, but here in a fresh, aquatic form. This is followed by notes of ginger, which give a slightly pungent scent, then sandalwood, on a noticeable base of clearwood. I also did not notice any synthetic note. I've read a lot of negative comments about the fragrance's performance, but my opinion after extensive use for several days is that the fragrance has a high performance for a summer fragrance, and I received many compliments. I can say that the longevity is no less than 4 hours and the sillage is up to 2 hours or more continuously, noting that the fragrance comes in the form of an Eau de Parfum. The bottle of the fragrance features the traditional shape of Bvlgari Man series bottles, but it is designed in a beautiful light blue color with a white top head that perfectly expresses the essence of the fragrance. Pros: * Unique * Classy * Eau de Parfum form * Noticeable projection Cons: * A little pungent * Somewhat high price * Not suitable for blind buying Rating: A distinctive fragrance, but not the best in the Bvlgari Man line 8/10.

First impressions after having it on for 30mins: feels like I took a shower with a high quality good smelling body wash. I actually adore this type of scent, and the initial opening was sensational. I'm basically going nose blind to it now and I'm pretty sure this type of fragrance is going to fade pretty fast, but as far as the actual scent, I really like it. Is it memorable? Not at all, and if anything it's quite forgettable. It's got that mass pleasing type of scent that you've probably smelled multiple times before. Yes, it has a bit of it's own thing going on, but overall nothing mind-blowing. For me, who loves fresh scents, this is great, but for most frag heads, this is just okay I would assume. I will wear it and at some point will most likely update this review with longevity and sillage and all that. So far solid 8/10 just for the scent. And I just checked the prices and for a discount online, I could see myself grabbing 100ml. Definitely going to be a banger scent for physical activities like the gym. Update-. Good performance and projection for about 2 hours. Then average for another 3-4 hours.. and then a skin scent that lasts until the next day, even powering through a shower and lingereing there afterwards. The skin scent is very sexy in my opinion, a super masculine musky peppery scent, that reminds me of Salt and Pepper by Precious Liquids.

Picture this: You unscrew the lid of a flat jar, dip your fingers in, and scoop out a buttery, brick-pinkish cream (sandalwood+orris). You can spot tiny, moist yellow bits (fresh ginger+woods) and pieces of a translucent green jelly (juniper and musk). You smear it on your arm, and immediately the wood, the juniper and ginger starts to work. Creams fades quickly, leaving pieces of ginger and greeny juniper jelly, giving a sensation of freshness in the air while remaining creamy right against the skin. It’s true that there's a hint of CH 212 in it, but they aren't that similar. Doesn't last long on skin, it holds up better on clothes. To me smells great, refreshing, comfy and masculine; def not a long lasting and has a solid, but diminishing fast, sillage. It’s overpriced in therms on performance. I own it and love it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you’re picky about longevity; the main warning is: it feels like it doesn't quite fit the "Bvlgari Man" line, so don't blind buy thinking you'll get a piece of the others but fresher. Everyone, give it a chance if you like ginger, juniper and creamy orris.

Man this smells terribly good. Starts slightly sweet, musky, clean, a bit herbacious, but not too much... then the ginger gives it a special brightness to it that HMMMM. It is a fragance that won't suprise you if you are a lot into perfumery, but for your average Joe, or for people who just want to smell good during months that are a bit warm, it is a Win-win. Also, by not being that usual to smell it around, you can forget about the people that says it is simple/boring... because you will never smell it elsewhere, so who cares if its not innovative. It may require a good couple of sprays, as performance seems to be just okay and its smell is quite delicate, but it will be worth it. Office safe, formal or just to take a walk, pleasant for a lunch near the beach... This also has to smell good on winter. The only bad side of it for me would be how long it may last/projects compared to for example Channel AHSEE. Wish there was an Extreme / Blizzard / Snowstorm or whatever you want to call it version of this.

Having most of my life spent in a dryer part of a mostly desert country - this is a breath of fresh air to me every time I smell this. I'll preface by saying what has to be said, the performance isn't the best by a long shot. Projection is below mid, you need to be at best half a foot away from someone for them to even realize you're wearing this. Longevity is meh at best. Sometimes I get 3-4 hours in closed spaces like the office where it isn't super hot, but outside in the heat of the sun? 1-2 hours and its mostly gone for me. BUT! The scent is amazing, it opens in a way that instantly makes me feel like I'm in the colder part of Canada or Antarctica, which then pretty fast changes to musks and woods. If the performance was better - this would be a 10/10 from me, as it is? 7.5/10, or 8.5/10 if you find it at a serious discount.

I don't understand the negative comments for this fragrance. It was a birthday gift from my wife around the same week it came out. I loved it so much that I got a second bottle after the first one. The performance was above average for me. I remember doing like 5-6 sprays before leaving for work and a colleague at work told me he knew I was around before even seeing me because he could smell this fragrance (to be honest, It was kind of my signature scent at that point). On another day, I got home from work at around 4 p.m. and my wife opened the door and said she knew it was me at the door because she could smell the perfume. That's the performance I got out of this. Though I doubt it but maybe it has been reformulated and it's why some are saying the performance is bad. I really can't relate though. I will buy it again and see.

I’m no expert and don’t have that many fragrances to do a proper review, but this is my experience with this fragrance. I like how it develops, the opening is really gorgeous and it grabs me every time. The dry down is totally different, but still very pleasant and it lasts for a long time. Where I work the summer temperatures reaches well over 40 degrees celsius and after a 10 to 12 hour day I can still smell it. My engineer asked me on more than two occasions what I’m wearing as he wanted to get some as well. He was impressed by the performance and the smell even at the end of the day. So from me this one gets a 10/10 and I will recommend it to anyone.

I have been a fan of Bvlgari fragrances for a long time, and this one is no exception. Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence is a refreshing and invigorating fragrance that captures the essence of the frozen mountains. It has a crisp and clean scent that is not too overpowering, but still noticeable and attractive. The top notes of juniper berries, ginger and geranium give it a spicy and aromatic kick, while the woody and amber base notes add warmth and depth. This is signature Alberto Morillas. It could be described as ADG parfum, but with alpine air instead of aquatic notes; or a fresher, lighter Dylan Blue. It’s very easy to like and wear; its fresh, but in a non-citrus way which is different and definitely has a alpine freshness about it, but I wouldn’t call it icy- to much warm spice for that (but still fresh!). Only issue is longevity is poor; it’s a skin scent in 30-60 minutes. Perhaps it lasts for 3-4 hours on skin, but you have to smell your skin. I just use it when I can carry the bottle and reapply often (good for gym bag). I really like it, but just have to re-apply 2-3x per day for me.

This stuff is FANTASTIC! Let me tell you something, you have to smell it on someone else to really appreciate the scent. I bought myself a bottle of this amazing fragrance and used it a few times here and there, and one day I came home from work and I smelled something in the air, something that smelled really, really good, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. I asked my son whether he used any fragrance and he said yes and it was the Bvlgari Glacial Essence. So, in the air, it smells hundred times better than if you smell it on the skin! Another great creation by Alberto Morillas!!!

Axe body spray meets Bulgari Man. At first I was disappointed in how this smelled... just not what I was looking for. But give this a few wears, let it develop. Smell as the opening, which does remind me of axe body spray, starts to blend beautifully into a classy and classic Bulgari heart of juniper and orris. I am falling in love. I find this somewhat long lasting with moderate projection. Maybe some become anosmic to it after a few hours? Try spraying on your forearm and not your neck or chest area. I think you will notice it lasts a lot longer without becoming anosmic to it.

This is a great fragrance, smells sooooooo fresh, it really smells like something cool and fresh. The problem is the logevity, it dies at 3-4 hours. First hour it projects, second hour is a skin scent, third hour you ́ll hardly smell a faint smell, and gone by 4th hour. This is for extreme hot weather, the type of weather other regular EDT fragrances will be too much for people close to you, or for close spaces, or for driving with someone in a car, or for just traveling on an airplane, or for a meeting in a little office, all that in summer, really hot summer.

Not my favorite on first smell... since it has a very generic freshness to it... but after using it for a while, WOW! I am first surprised by the performance. It is long-lasting and present (lingers in my bedroom 24 hours + after spraying). So yes, generic freshness, but it also "gets me" with the slightly sweet juniper musk base underlying the freshness. And despite being a fresh scent, the performance and warmth of the slightly sweet juniper musk base make it an all-season fresh-y, and also adding a touch of originality against the generic-ness.

What a unique scent, its a summer ,spring maybe fall scent but it really does have this on a cool mountain feel. I find the opening just spot on awesome, cool, crisp, clean but not generic clean...and then it really gets into this cool dry down that ia smooth and just totally refreshing. Its a release that breaks the mold and does something a little different. I have been loving bottles with juniper notes as of late, and this is another. I blind bought it and I absolutely love it, ill get a 2nd bottle eventually for backup.

I really liked it, smells fresh and invigorating but in the drydown warmer. Starts like an crispy geranium gingery sharpness without being loud like a cleaning product, neither at all like the fuzzy 212, it goes more on the muskier side, saying in a positive way. I dont like musk on man scents, in this one the musky drydown works very well, its a bit youngish type of scent than mature, a lifting mood scent as i like it, great after the shower and for sunny days even works well on winter, because of the warm drydown, 7 of 10

My friend send me this perfume as a birthday gift on my first use, I thought the smell is icy cool like what I saw on the box the bottle is similar to ice too but I’m wrong, haha the smell is too strong for me! It’s like More on strong woody scent mixed with spices or something powdery. but after 2hours dry down something magical changes happened, the woody scent changed to sweet berries scent and i was amazed! For me this perfume is amazing...,

Lives up to it's name perfectly. Glacial. It's super fresh and cooling and has a sort of revitalising nature without stinging the nostrils. What i love most that really sets this apart is the passive aggressive soft musky smell that smells so damn good on the skin. It is a tiny bit synthetic but it's what amps this thing up to the next level, but honestly in general it's really high quality.

I received a sampler set from Bloomingdales, but they didn’t have this fragrance in stock. I visited a friend at Neiman Marcus and lo and behold, he had 1 left, sitting in a drawer tucked away, just for me. This is a very nice eau de parfum, created properly by Alberto Morillas. Kudos, sir! I simply love it, in the luxurious style that only Bvlgari can pull off effortlessly.

Initial impression; if you like the Calvin Klein type freshness, this one is just as good and perhaps a bit more mature than your average Calvin Klein vibe. Inoffensive and clean. A bit fruity and sweet but with slight woody tone; keeping it young and professional. Not heavy. Everyday wear, that’s for sure.

I like this. It's a nice alternative to Blu de Chanel. Clean, fresh, everyone will think you smell nice and it dries down into a pleasant scent on my skin. Not my favourite but nice enough. Also really useful to refresh when I've gone slightly blind to Wood Essence or Nio and want to retrain my brain.

This is so good and smells like a sweet breath of fresh air. If you like something clean and smooth you’ll love this. It isn’t beast mode or complex but it is very pleasant and enjoyable. It’s ideal for the hot summer days but works well in the office too. I really like it.

It's like a cross between CH 212 Men and PDM Percival. Smells like an extremely luxurious shower gel basically. Lasts for a very good long time and seems to be quite the compliment getter. Highly recommend so long as you get it for a discount. Retail is a bit much.

Its fresh, watery, woody! reminds me when you open a fridge and smell ice on hot summer. A bit pricy for the value. After 5-6 hours sticks close to skin. can still smell after 12 hours in a good cool indoor environment.

The "Essence" flankers of the Bvlgari Man line have all wowed me so far, and this one is no different. It's not as good as rain essence, but its better than wood essence. Its fresh but unique. Give it a try

Musk lovers are going to like this. Slight designer vibe in the beginning but then everything comes together very clean icy. It doesn't get floral which I really appreciate. A cool take on musk. Literally!

I do not understand the hate? I believe it’s retail price is higher than it should be but now it’s discounted so don’t sleep on it. I has to admit that I do like scents with juniper and this pairs it well with ginger to give it a cool fizzy vibe. Opening smells like grapefruit and gin to me but no citrus in this? Smells ultra clean and has a powdery green soap and woods dry down with a touch of musk. Very good scent for office and professional environment. It’s a day scent for just smelling crisp, clean and classy. Has a positivity vibe. Almost a green fragrance. I think when Alberto puts his name on a fragrance it sets people up for a let down. Expectations get out of hand. He is still in the mainstream designer market and god forbid he makes something for the masses. Great dumb reach spring/summer scent with decent projection and performance. Blind buy success but only would do so at a discount. 7.5/10 Update__ This scent does not last long at all, maybe 3 hours tops, still like it enough but probably never buy again

I'll come back later with a more refined review, but I gotta say this is a really solid generic men's fragrance. There's a vibe to it that is "been there, done that" but I can't help myself with this one. It's dry and woody, has a fresh spice to it from the ginger and a hint of brightness, which I suppose is the geranium. It's also pretty subtle compared to its counterparts (pretty similar to BdC, but not as well-refined as the BdC EdP). It projects well within arm's length, but isn't overpowering. It's really clean. I don't know how any one could 'not like' this fragrance. It's very inoffensive. But I do understand if it's boring to someone or just not their cup of tea. All this being said, I would never pay $113 for 100ml of this (per their website). It will be discounted eventually and be a good buy for half that price. It just doesn't do anything unique to justify the purchase, in my opinion.

Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence is an aromatic and fresh fragrance. Its aroma is not so common to what has been recently launched, it is fresh but not fruity or aquatic in style, it is rather slightly herbal and green, but above all woody and musky, it is very pleasant and harmless, with a slightly creamy sensation. I think it's a good option for use in the office, as it's very discreet (something that is already common of many Bvlgari fragrances), but also for informal outings with friends, like going to the movies. It seems to me that it adapts better to warm days, in spring, summer and even autumn on lightly hot days and can be enjoyed by people of any age. As for longevity with me, it stayed close to 8 hours, but almost always close to the skin.

I get a piney, citrusy (even though no citrus is listed) opening with ginger and a very mellow floral nuance. As it starts to dry down, woods and lingering ginger and juniper. So essentially a fresh wood fragrance. I do get a very light amber-like scent in the deep dry down. Don't think it's as bad as everyone is making it out to be, but definitely not groundbreaking or a masterpiece. Not a huge projector, but lasts on my skin decently. Got a good deal at $50 to add the rest of my Bvlgari collection. No regrets. Definitely not worth the price it's going for now. Try it and wait for it to hit discounters at a much lower price. This is a $40-$50 fragrance at best. I get Tiffany & Love for Men vibes from this.

Got a sample of it Open with a wet wood and moss feel, luckily few minutes after I got hint of the juniper berries not very bad like some people said. Woody, herbal, florals and some ''citruses feel'' I do get the point of a ressemblance with 212 men. Professional yes. Light fragrance 4 to 6 hours max spring, summer and fall A pleasent soft smell indeed but won't spend a dime for a full bottle, sadly this could be interesting if this one had a little bit more projection and longevity. Will do few others wearing! For now, it's disappointing 7/10. will re-evaluate if necessary. Maybe I don't understand nuances (with the name) of this fragrance.

It's pretty decent. Crisp, fresh, and slightly floral. I think this fragrance is drawing a lot of unnecessary hate because it's the furthest thing from unpleasant; I agree with nattonline in that it smells youthful but also slightly formal, or at least more formal than most other youthful-smelling fragrances. I could see a young man rocking this at his first office job or internship. It would go just great with a navy blue suit. It's currently way, way overpriced though, and looking at what most other Bvlgari fragrances are going for in the discounter market, I don't anticipate rushing to buy this anytime soon. To each their own.

I've never been close up to a glacier, so I can't tell you if this is spot on or not. But it smells fresh, faintly of musky water and wood. There's a bit of a citrus smell to it, but apparently that's not an intended note. It has an unfortunately long alcoholic / lysol opening that eventually calms down. Would I say I think it smells of ice? Not really. More fresh, woody. A breezy mountain. This suffers from being fairly close to Man Rain, though if I had to pick one of the two, I would pick this one. It also suffers the same issue as Man Rain. Decent last, but can't project. Good for the office, inoffensive, and extremely safe.

I bought it from a sale from an e-shop but it was still expensive, so it was a risk. Later, having smelt some other Bvlgari's male scents which I mostly didn't like I realised the risk was 2-3 times higher. I bought it because of my incredible experiences with Bvlgari Omnia series. But I wasn't disappointed with it! It turned out to be one of those very few "male" fragrances I like. Some reviews mention this is cheap. Maybe it depends on how many other fragrances one has smelt before. For me it doesn't smell cheap, it's just nice and good and enjoyable although there's nothing too exciting about it either.

People bashing on Alberto makes me a little upset! It’s a fine fresh designer fragrance that does what it says, reminds someone of a glacial fresh smell. Don’t hate on him because he’s the best in the business and continues to be in high demand. Is it unique: no. Fairly few designer scents are. Is it people pleasing: certainly. If you ever expect bvlgari to create something terribly exotic I don’t think you are that familiar with their brand... they put out almost as much cologne as Hugo boss. Some are hits and some are misses. This is a good dumb reach for summer. But don’t spend a lot of money on it.

Glacial Essence is definitely a true flanker of Bvlgari Man. It's icy and opens with a pear-like note from Bvlgari Man, and as it dries down, its notes turn to be more similar to B.Man Extreme. However, there does seem to be Ambroxan, or an Ambroxan-like note, in it. I believe Glacial Essence is just Bvlgari Man's Sauvage-esque flanker (like Aqva Atlantique, Luna Rossa Carbon, Dylan Blue, etc). I've gotten compliments on it ("you smell delicious"), but I can't see wearing it too often because I'm not a huge fan of the Sauvage-inspired fragrances.

I keep going back to the sample I got of this. It’s good. Something familiar yet well crafted. To my nose it starts off with a blast of 212 by Herrera and then dries down to something akin to Eau Sauvage. It’s okay to imitate when done well “and” (importantly) at a cost-effective basis. Some good prices out there means I will put this on my to-buy list before it (likely) will get discontinued. I haven’t been overly impressed by the other current Bvlgari Man siblings (Terrae and Neroli). Black is classical, and Wood Essence is okay.

Very pleasant gentleman smell. Clean, fresh and crisp . Great smell which disappears after 2h despite being an EDP. Would not recommend to buy again ...
